Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersReasonably price for a printer which can do quite a bit! It was easy to set up, can print double sided (without having to flip the paper manually!) and has a top feed copier – all the things I needed. Not sure about the fax function (does anyone fax anymore??) but seems to be a really good printer. Not the fastest but perfectly adequate for my business needs.

It took longer to remove all the packaging packing tape than to set the printer off. Once you’ve got it unpacked and powered on all you do is follow the instructions on the control panel (not difficult) and then set up the wireless by adding your router password. Once done, printer is visible on the network and ready to go. Print quality is excellent even at default settings.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersBrilliant replacement for my previous Epson WF which was several years old but ruined by using no Epson ink cartridges once. Don’t do what I did. However this new one is fantastic and so easy to set up and use

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis was an amazing experience – super easy to set up wireless, already scanned and printed from computer and only got it two hours ago, also connected to my iPhone literally within minutes. So much easier than my previous printer, won’t mention the brand but it’s safe to say that this Epson printer is totally recommendable! Get it if you want to scan, copy and print and if you hate setting up tediously – this was brilliant. It also looks good.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI have only received the printer today, but I am so happy about the setup and printing quality that I am leaving a review asap.

I have been through several Canon and HP printers and both brands’ setup was a huddle to go through – and imagine completing the same unreasonable steps a few times for the family – never mind the actual printing and maintenance.
However, so far the Epson’s printer minimise all the exhausting steps by automatically completed the setup and upgrades, and would just print the docs I needed as soon as it is connected to the house’s network.

I think it is doing what I want it to do, 10 to 15 mins setup time (unwrap, power on, press a few buttons, insert cartridges, insert papers, wait five minutes, and enter network password) and print.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersNo issues thus far, loses as star for annoying software that pests you too much until you switch it off. Also, update the firmware via the printer menu itself, don’t use the software as it’s just unrelaible in my experience.

Golden Review Award: 26 From Our UsersI’ve spent the past 2 years on a crusade against printers thanks to HP. I’ve never felt anger towards technology like I have with a HP printer. I work in a skilled tech job, yet a 40 quid printer from HP made me want to end it all.

Thank god for Epson for restoring my faith in printers. As soon as I set it up, I attempted to copy a page from a book that I scanned in. I didn’t need to download 2 apps on my phone, log into both and wait half an hour to be told no. It just scanned the page and printed it. I seconds. Not an app in sight.

Then I needed to print from my PC. I connected my printer to the same WiFi network as my pc, immediately found my printer when I searched for it via the windows find printers and scanners input, added the printer, opened and clicked print on a document, and there it was, 5 seconds, and 5 pages later.

I would never buy a HP printer again if my life depended on it. Epson, absolutely.

Really good printer for the money! Fairly easy to get up and running after all the agreements and registering.
Loved the feature of being able to print documents from my Android phone from bluetooth/wifi.
Print quality is very good and FAST!
Will probably never use the FAX facility but copying, scan and printing will be utilized to the full which is why I purchased this item. Highly recommended.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersThe printer comes well packed and all the opening / moving parts are taped down.
I set this up next to my Mac computer downloaded the software from Epson website and just followed the prompt on the software.
The computer found the printer really easily and once all the firmware had updated automatically the test page printed off straight away.
Printer prints two sided smoothly with the option of changing to one. The print options are straight forward to adjust.
As I am in the process of selling my house this two sided option is great and saves paper.
The printer seems to print reasonably fast including a jpeg of a gas safety certificate.
Probably like most printers it will clog up over time if you use non epson products. There is an option to buy regularly discounted cartridges.
We won’t need the printer too much after the house move so we haven’t bothered.
There is a touch screen menu on the printer which is very easy to use and follow.
You can also download and app to your phone to use the printer from your phone.

I am a Linux user and found this printer really easy to set up. Linux recognised it straight away, no need to install extra drivers and the scanner was found by the Document Scanner program. Very pleased with how easy to use this printer is. Only one tiny niggle – when there was a firmware update the message said to do it from the settings menu but did not specify exactly which option in this menu, I had to search through everything until I found it!

The printer is a little larger than most but its nicely arranged and well made. The set up is probably much easier if you get one that has the documents still in it, I got mine at a reduced price due to it not having the documents and appeared to be a returned model as it was already set up with the ink cartridges installed. However i got the manuals from on line. I use mine directly connected via USB cable but it can be set up wireless. Print quality is good, little noisy in operation but not that bad, mainly the start up of print.

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersOur old printer upped and died on us so this was an emergency purchase. We just wanted something in a certain price range that was cheap to run, had an ethernet port and printed duplex. This ticked all those boxes. Setup was relatively straight forward although I struggled at first to find where the Ethernet port was. It was well hidden. Epson issue very generic instructions covering lots of different printers in the model range which makes them a little hard to follow. However it was soon up and running. We decided to use the Epson ReadyPrint service although be warned – although it comes with a free introductory period this is disingenuous of them as the cartridges that come with the printer will keep you going for months anyway! It is also important to note that your ReadyPrint service online will not log any pages as being printed until you plug in the cartridges they send you through the post. Epson seem a little dim-witted about this as it is not explained anywhere. Indeed, if you don’t install their cartridges then they will keep emailing you telling you that your printer is not connected to the internet. This is pretty shoddy really and leaves a poor impression of Epson as a company even-though the printer itself is perfectly fit for purpose.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersI do not have an issue with this printer other than it goes through print cartridges, especially if like mine, it develops a fault that keeps requiring the printer head nozzle clean after every print. I sent it back for repair and this is where my problems lie. Amazon were great at sorting the return. That was very easy. It even came back relatively quickly, however the machine came back with no lead so unable to plug it in or printer cartridges of which 2 were new. The repair company just referred me back to Amazon saying that the repairers often don’t send leads or cartridges back. I had set up a ReadyPrint account with Epson and registered the serial number of the machine I sent for repair. It would not register on my laptop when it came back so contacted Epson who asked me to check the serial number. I did and I haven’t been sent my machine back. Apparently, the repair company Amazon send it too just ship it back to the supplier, ie Epson on this occasion, who more often than not just send a replacement. It would have been nice to know this. To be honest, the returned printer looks anything but new! Even getting hold of Epson is a nightmare and have had to do it via Messenger. Having said that, they have replied quickly and been very helpful although not sorted yet. Fingers crossed. I do really like the printer when it’s working so would recommend it but be careful where you buy it from. Amazon have given a refund and been great but my confidence in buying this sort of product online is shot. Currys PC World here I come!!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersHello,I know it’s early days yet but so far I don’t have any real complaints about this Printer. Quality seems up to par, price was good, and installation pretty much a cinch. Have managed (I am one of the least tech savvy ppl around) to link my mobile phone to it so I can print directly from it. That was pretty straightforward (Thanks YouTube)
Let’s see how long the ready installed ink cartridges last.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersMy HP Officejet finally died so I had to get another printer. I did look at other HP printers but they were very expensive and also wanted you to sign into buying their ink from them direct on a contract basis. I did notice my HP printer began to go badly wrong with alternative ink – and I strongly suspect that as it was all on-line and HP doing updates that they purposely sent up error messages to try to force you to use their ink as they do regular updates! Of course there is no proof but big corp get up to all sorts nowadays! I was worried with the bad reviews on the Epson 4820 that I did buy but I did not have the same experience they did. I followed the instructions carefully, used the on-line download and it was all set up but this did take some time to run everything so be patient. Next I tried the scan, copy, print and fax – perfect – all working. The print is clear and very, very quick I was amazed at how quick it printed. With my HP it was hit and miss and alot of pinging – drove me mad! Also the HP was an absolute nightmare to set up. I note the comment about the ink from another review but this is what companies do – they charge less for the printer and then get the money back by charging alot for ink. I did buy the Epson 405 suitcase (all colours) for 37.83 (not too expensive) for extra ink but still using the ink that came with the printer. All I can say is I am so, so, so happy I bought this printer and no more blinking pinging every few seconds!!!

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersThere are lots of great things about the Epson WF-4820 printer which I bought in March 2022 for home use. It is robust and sturdy as well as stylish. The quality of the copies is very good, with an intuitive menu on the printer window. The printer came well packaged and with clear guides of how to unwrap the hardware, fit the ink cartridges and set up to print copies of existing paper documents. That was excellent since producing multiple copies of existing paper documents/posters etc is a large part of our printer use.

There was a guide to setting up a fax which I did not take up as this medium is rather rare nowadays in the UK.

So far so good. The package came without a printer cable so I started on the recommended wireless connection option between laptop and printer. I must have gone wrong somewhere as I was not prompted for my number and eventually my son came over and set it up for me. I can now print out attachments or documents created at home.

I have also had problems with setting up the outstanding type of use, scanning a paper document so it can be added as an attachment or scanning a photograph so it can be inserted into a form such as a bus pass application for example. If necessary I will call upon my adult family or pay someone. I use a laptop every day but obviously my advanced skills must be rusty after some years of retirement and being isolated from the world of office work.

Having said that, I think most offices would have someone capable of following the instructions successfully and most of your reviewers have succeeded in using them. In any case setting up a network is an occasional activity soon forgotten in what should hopefully be a good few years of using the printer. I just wish more attention could go into these instructions compared with, say, on screen instructions about making a purchase which are always very clear.

You can have a stressful house move but still have many happy years in your new home and I hope this will similarly be the case with this printer which I rate as four-star.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI have always liked Epson printers. Some years ago when I ran a small business my previous Epson Workforce printer, a Epson WorkForce Pro WP-4535DWF A4 Multifunction Inkjet Printer, did a sterling job of coping with our business needs. Sadly it got fried one night due to a lightning strike! Shortly after our business came to an end.
Since then my printing needs have been less demanding so I have had a couple of ‘expression’ printers that have served their purpose. However, things have changed yet again so another ‘workforce’ printer was in order.
This current one has continued where the last one left off albeit with slightly less facilities than the old one, namely a separate document feeder for photo paper, and only one paper cassette instead of two. The modern one has also now gone touchscreen which works well. This one was just as simple to install and setup as the previous one, both WiFi and Ethernet, & the print quality is excellent for the price, almost laser quality!
It’s first task of printing a 100 page manual, double sided and in colour, was completed without issue. It’s second job of printing a ten page A5 booklet was also completed without a hitch. Copying and scanning were also straight forward and performed faultlessly. Haven’t tried the fax feature as these days I have no need for this, but I’m sure that would be just as simply completed. Printing from my iPhone and iPad has also been just as easy.
I like the separate ink cartridges as it keeps the costs down and, although the genuine cartridges are a tad on the expensive side, the quality is worth paying for in my opinion as it’s always been a bit of a lottery finding good quality & reliable ‘non genuine’ cartridges.
Time will tell if it continues to perform to expectations, but if it performs like our earlier one, I will be more than happy.
