Haven’t used it yet but seems ti be good solid product. Hope to use it in the warmer weather.
It does what it says on the box & gives a very straight cut.
You’d be a fool not to buy this if you’ve purchased the Evolution plunge saw. 3 lengths and easy clamps all in a great little carry case
Great product but bad quality control – sent to me without the two small bars for joining the tracks into one length. Chatted on Amazon and helpful rep’ asked me to confirm missing parts on Evolution website then gave me partial refund so I could buy them. Great I thought – no need to send the whole lot back. The catch? Only free postage on orders over the amount I was spending so I ended up out of pocket. Thanks Evolution:(
Nice case, seems flat and level, nice clamps. A good product. Just be careful with the word “compatible” as the Bosch saw doesn’t fit over the guide rail, it is just guided against the edge.
Brilliant bit of kit if you have a guide compatible saw. Make sure you lubricate the surface with PTFE or silicone spray and make a first pass to trim the white plastic edge.
Used it for cutting insulated conservatory roof panels (aluminium skin, rubber layer and expanded foam insulation) and got perfect lines every time
I was a little apprehensive when purchasing these tracks as some reviews stated that they weren’t accurate when joined together..but I compared them against my makita guide rails and one of the brands wasn’t 100% true..
So I got 1800mm level out and laid it against the side of the evolution which seemed straight, but once I ran the saw through it certainly wasn’t.. you have to put the level against the part that the saw follows and adjust until that is straight..very fiddly..
So even though at first impressions I thought the evolution joined straight it need fine adjustment.
Brilliant piece of kit. I bought it for use with the Evolution circular saw which I love.
The only, extremely minor issue I have is that the allen key required to join the two halves together gets lost in the storage pocket in the bag. This is being really picky as I have taken it out and put it in my screwdriver bits box which I have with me at all times.
I can certainly recommend this track to anyone.
Great value , suits the Makita plung saw , my only gripe would be the clamp as you tighten they leave a mark from the screw that holds the cup , I marked 2 oak doors with them . I have a pair of makita clamps that fit so will be using them .
Searched for ages to find guide rails for an Einhell plunge saw as they are out of stock globally
These work perfectly well and the saw sits neatly on them and cuts perfectly very happy
Well done evolution great job
Used to cut straight lines while building a 2.1m tall kitchen cabinet, carcass and doors. Easy to use and provides a reliable guide for circular saws. My saw didn’t fit the track, but I used the straight edge as my guide with no problem.
Rails arrived in good straight condition with everything there. Fit together well including two useful clamps. Comes with a carry bag
Important info not everyone mentions.
These fit theMcallister saw from Screwfix just fine. Don’t know about any others. Cheaper than most other rails tho still seems a lot for a couple of bits of ally.
I’ve used these to go with my N my ac Allister plunge saw. They work ok however one slot is accessed on opposite side meaning not all grub screws can be tightened
Already had an 18v makita circular saw which I believed would work would work with this rail as the description names makita as compatible brand. However I had to instead purchase a new evolution saw to be able to use the track.
Great saw for the price though and worked perfectly with the track to rip down large bits of sheet wood. This works better and is easier work than using a table saw to rip big lengths of ply or mdf.
I needed a guide for my circular saw from Wickes. I generally like the evolution products and these rails are pretty good at giving a straight line from A to B but, my circ saw does not have a guide stop that clicks in to position. However, if I off set the guide by 33mm and then just push against the higher edge, it does a pretty good job. For a casual DIYer, it’s fine.
Bought this set of tracks for my Parkside saw. Tracks with the Parkside saw are a little effy. When connections small ones you never really get a good straight cut so I thought I get these two longs ones. Best thing about it is that you can use two connectors to make sure they are 100% straight. With newly 3m long you won’t need anything else. Comes with clamps and storage case. I’ve never had clams but it’s very hand. All under 80?? Can’t go wrong really. It will pay for it self in couple of jobs. Do your self a favour and get one of these, stop faffing around with small ones.
Bought this for my Evolution saw, it’s easy to assemble, but dont assume it’s straight, I did with my first cut, then when I put a straight edge on the timber it wasn’t straight, I put a spirit level along the back of the track and sure enough, although the joining ends were butted up, the ends aren’t truly square, I loosened the joiners and had to have a small gap at the back to get them truly straight. The second cut was perfect. Slight gripe, but you’d assume being machined made they’d be perfect square end
These rails are an excellent price and a good product. I use them with my Triton plunge saw. the clamps that are supplied are also good.
The only disappointment is that the t-slot on the far left of the rail is inverted when compared with Triton, Makita and Festool rails. This means I cannot join these rails with others. Also I can’t use the UJK bench dog clips with these rails. I know this before I bought it.
This thing is awesome for what it is.
Unfortunately my Circular saws don’t work in the track as 2 are narrower than the track allows and 1 is wider. What I’ve done for the wider 1 is fit a wider trim piece to the underside to make up the space and for the other 2 I use the back as a straight edge instead.
Its totally dead straight and easily strong enough to handle anything I throw at it (not literally)
Don’t think this is a bad investment for the money
Good Quality, great price with functional carry / protective bag makes this a product that fully meets my expectations. I’ve now tried this with two different branded track saws makita and Erbaur and had same results (great fit) so I think it is more universal. I’m not a professional but think the Length of track pieces is spot on to allow flexibility between short and long jobs like trimming a door.
I love this thing, I used to use a home made wooden one, but this is so much easier and more accurate…but if u notice I marked it down for acuracy? thats because the way they show you how to use it is not spot on accurate,
Ie stick it down and use the white strip as a guide… that strip gets wrecked and is easily cut wrong if the joins are not 100% accurate, which is not really possible. Good enough for a lot of jobs though. But if you want it to be mm perfect, calculate the distance of the back of the guide to the blade, for me its 187 mm (that will always be the same). say you want to cut 500mm. Set a ruler to 313 (using a stop) then set another ruler using the first as its measure so they are both exact, clamp them to each side of the board, push the back of the guide onto them, they act as a stop, then cut. spot on accurate everytime.
The only problem or comment I can make against this product is having two parts 1.4m is ok unless you want 1.5m you have a lot of hangover maybe 1 part 1.4m and two parts 0.7m would be better. I also found that I had a 2mm from the ends to the centre when using both parts.
Great product and value for money is exceptional. Let down again by the shoddy storage option, in this case the bag. The tracks are snug to say the least as you have a fight on your hands to get the tracks in and out of the bag which I’m sure will wear as quickly as your patience. Such a shame.
It fits the Dewalt DWS520 plunge saw perfectly and has worked perfectly cutting over 30 8×4 sheets of 3/4” ply down to 2×8 to fit through attic trap door and floor it . The only annoyance i had was that 3 of the 4 sides were a couple of MM off square so left a gap when fitted together . If i didn’t have to square them off with a Mitre saw i would have happily given 5*
