We bought this as a present for a work colleague, so I can’t give an honest review, but so far she is loving it & especially now she can track her steps.
Bought this for my son in place of an Apple watch as was not sure if he would wear it. Been over a month now and not taken it off. Can see very little that this does not do that my Apple watch does. A great purchase.
My wife got a Versa3 Fitbit watch from me for Christmas an now it’s not charging .could you please get back to me as soon as possible as my wife has got so used to the watch.I would prefer a exchange I would be more happy with that thanks please send me a return slip
The fitbit watch is great and does what it says on the tin but the accompanying app is very poor – I tried to connect this to my Alexa account but it defaults to logging in to amazon.com so if you’re outside the US you’re out of luck as there’s no way to change that. It’s a decent fitness watch but if you want a “smart” watch I’d look for something more modern, this feels like the software development was abandoned sometime around 2010.
Grandad accidentally put his fitbit versa 2 through the washing machine so I ordered him the versa 3 , he loves it, connects to his phone much easier and the watch strap is much easier to change too
I bought this just over a years ago & it’s helped my lose 5 stone by tracking my steps & calories in & out. I particularly like that it’s more ‘watch’ shaped than most of the narrower fitness trackers. Battery lasts around 6 days on average (even after a year of use), though battery life is much shorter if you use the snore feature. The app is pretty good, though Google do seem to be slowly stripping it of features & some features are paywalled behind a subscription service. The free version of the app is more than enough to track calories in/out, steps, resting heart rate etc. It’s certainly helped motivate me to try a little harder some days.
My previous Versa was not holding its charge for very long so upgraded to a Versa 3. Now I easily get six days between charges. Easy to change between apps too.
It tells the time, can be brighter or darker just cover with hand. It indicates how many steps you have taken in a day or at anytime you look at it. On waking up in the morning you can check how well you have slept, by check the Fitbit App, this you can download from the App Centre.
Both my wife and I have similar watches. They come with a chair going lead that you plug in and attach to rear of watch. I love it.
Lots of exercises to choose from, accurate for heart rate when compared to strap on rowing machine, sync it every morning to check sleep pattern and so keep accurate time. Changed the pink strap for an elasticated black strap which also looks great. I charge it every morning for20 mins or so which gets it from 85% ish to 100%. Comes with a USB magnetic charger and free App. You get one years Premium which I am unlikely to renew as the basic features are enough for me !
Thought you could wear it to swim or shower, but looked closely at the instructions, says not recommend in shower, products might wear out quicker, same as swimming, other than that, a good watch, for telling the time, exercise, sleep logging, and bp
This was a present for my mum for her birthday. We have 3 Fitbits in our house and love them. This is so much better that the versa 2 just for the ease of changing straps as the versa 2 is fiddly and can be difficult with the little metal thing. Love the clip in and release button on the versa 3. I think it’s great you can dress the watch up for nights out with a diamant strap and bling face or change for comfort with a scrunchie looking strap or stretchy knit strap. The features are fantastic and loving comparing how much sleep and deep sleep we have had as well as competing on how many steps we have done. Love that I can change the picture on the screen too (I have Disney castle). Would recommend and was fantastic value for money
Purchased this as my Versa Lite 2 stopped working. This is the second one that this has happened to so I am concerned how long this watch will last probably just until after the guarantee has expires. At the moment all is well however.
The strap is better than my other two watches as the thin hold strap is fitted to the strap so will not fall off and get lost or break.
Turning the watch on is more difficult as you can press and nothing happens.
I only use the watch for step count, sleep and heart rate as I am not into technology so I don’t get out the watch what others may do.
I am so glad I upgraded from the versa 2. I love the feel of the strap on this one and it’s super comfortable. The GPS and fitness tracking works very well and is a lot more accurate then my previous models. Messages and answering phone calls is a great added bonus.
Bought this as my Versa 2 died after 18 months .. hope this one lasts longer..nice looking watch easy to read and navigate.. charge lasted 5 days only downside is strap like the colour but don’t think it will last long.. time will tell
More versatile, looks great, clear screen, comfortable to wear great value. I chose this because the Versa 4 and Sense 2 were really more expensive with less useful features. I have an android phone so done needed Google maps and works use the phone for Google page if I choose. The Fitbit pay doesn’t work with my bank.
Overall delighted .
Bought this as a surprise gift for my daughter’s birthday! Delivered on time and she is delighted with it! She found it easy to set up and is looking forward to monitoring her daily steps and more. Loves the strap colour and the device is easy to use. Win! Win!
I have used it for 8 months. Over a month ago, I started to believe that some heart rate readings are occasionally inaccurate even though I wear it tight. I purchased the Garmin Venu Sq2 a few weeks ago and have been wearing both watches every day simultaneously (Garmin on the left, Fitbit on the right). These are my observations:
1. Versa 3 tends to count 200-300 more steps per day than the Garmin Venu Sq2. I usually walk, on average 11,500 steps per day. Versa 3 also estimates 100-300 more calories burnt a day. I do cycling, walking and strength/cardio in the gym, physically active 7 days a week.
2. For weight training and cardio in the gym that involves wrist flexion, I wear my Garmin heart rate strap monitor which is more accurate than optical measurements. The Versa 3 seems to consistently display 200-300 calories more per day too.
3. My Fitbit shows my VO2Max to be 50-54 (excellent, I am 56 years old) based on long-term data. I could only estimate my VO2MAX with my Garmin using the GPS and speed walking outdoors. It gave VO2MAX estimate of only 41 (good for my age group). However, I did the test under non-ideal conditions; hilly terrains (I do not run).
4. The Garmin app cheekily and incorrectly suggests I should lose more weight. My measured body fat is 10.9%, BMI is 22 and muscle mass 43%. I don’t think I should get any leaner.
5. There are many examples in that Garmin stated my sleeping score was poor while Fitbit indicates it was good! The Garmin’s algorithm places lots of weighting on the REM minutes.
I upgraded from a Charge 3 to this, having looked at the difference between the Versa 3 and 4. Most reviews say they’re basically the same so I figured, with it being cheaper, I’d go for this one. I loved it! Really clear, bright screen that you can customise. The GPS is much more stable that the Charge’s was and I’ve not had any of the battery issues that others have mentioned. I’ve done 3 runs, 3 walks, had it on 24/7 and received notifications, and the battery was at 34% after 5.5 days so pretty on par with what Fitbit promised. Definitely recommend!
So i am a week in as a fitbit user for the first time.
First impresions, good quaity device, app is very easy to use, like the free trial for 6 months ( will update as time goes on)
Lots of helpful information on the app.
Sleep tracking seems very good. As does the step counter.
Only downside so far is the horrible standard strap, with the stupid lug you have to force into place.
Can see why they sell a “proper watch strap” for an extra 30 quid !!
May try a non fitbit strap from Amazon!
Will update after a few months.
First update!
Well after my original review, the next day the strap started to split!
Told Amazon, who were very helpful.
I didn’t want the hassle of setting up a new device, so I got a discount on my purchase to enable me to purchase a different strap. Will let you know how that goes!
Can’t believe they sell a good device with such a crappy strap!
Bought this as an upgrade to my Charge 2. Overall the watch is great and you get free Preminger 6 months. However after my battery lasting only 24 hours between charges, I had to switch all the premium functionality off as this drains the battery ! But all in all a decent price for tracke
This smart watch measures everything it says it should but the battery life is not as good as advertised. I have never managed the battery to have 6 days life, the best I have managed is 3 days. Otherwise the watch is good and has a great range of features.
I have a Apple iWatch 4 but the battery life is not great having to charge it every day. So I decided to buy this Fitbit Versa 3 as it had GPS and mentioned that the battery lasts up to 6.5 days.
I charged it to 100% on the day I got it and I’m very impressed so far as 4 days later and its still on 53% as in the photo. I have used it daily and done a lot of steps since then plus a 2.5 hr cycle ride to see how it did.
It very quickly updates Strava workouts once you end your session so it’s on track to do the 6+ days of battery life.
Took me awhile to get used to finding how to do things on it but you expect this as its a new item to get familiar with. Its bright and clear display is easy to read and comfortable to wear even with the included strap. You could easily find a better strap of your choosing and they are easy to replace.
Good build quality but not heavy as the Apple watch which is good. Compared to the iWatch its much better value especially as it comes very close to matching the Apple watch abilities. I’m still torn between this and the Apple watch but I am impressed with this FitBit Versa 3.
Pleased with the look of the watch. The strap is very comfortable to wear. Because it is my first smart watch it took longer to become used to using the watch and following advice online had to reboot it a couple of times. Still not yet confident with using exercise app but can now change day use to night use, choose different clock faces (of which there are many but fewer to record and display oxygen levels). I intend to gradually use more as my confidence increases. I like to receive the weekly summaries on my phone which shows trends across all indicators.
This is a great watch. I’m a beginner with smart watches so this was a gamble but I love it. It’s not as bulky or uncomfortable as I expected and I wear it 24/7. It has certainly made me increase my exercise and also to space my exercise. I worry about what the watch is thinking of me so I try to keep it happy by doing the exercise, even if I don’t feel like it! I like the sleep analysis as I don’t sleep well and it’s helping me to plan my sleep better.
I don’t get on particularly well with the haptic button and it keeps giving me Alexa, but I’m getting better at applying the right pressure and I’m getting the right screen more often now.
I also have no trouble with the silicon band, I read that a lot of people found it irritated their skin but it doesn’t bother me and I wear it all the time.
Altogether I’m very happy, it’s better than I was expecting and I’m getting a lot of benefit from it, which was my reason in buying it.
Like the look of it it, nice strap. A little slow syncing with the app. The only issue I have is I bought this one specifically so I didn’t have to take my phone with me and I could still listen to music. As it mentions Alexa in the description, I wrongly assumed I could use my Amazon Music. You cant! You can only use Deezer and some other random app. This would cost an extra 9.99 a month so guess who still takes their phone out with them? Other than that, I am more than happy with this watch
I’ve only had the Versa 3 for 1 day, I upgraded from the Versa 2 which I had for 16 months and started getting issues with it not syncing/connecting to bluetooth/getting gps signal from my phone. So I upgraded as the in built GPS seemed a good option for me. I mainly use my watch for cycling. here’s what I think so far.
Very easy to set up, it came with 50% charge on the battery. I couldn’t connect to my Wifi for a while, realised I needed to select the WA option instead of WA2, but yeh if you have problems just try a different option on the drop down. At first GPS wouldn’t connect when I tested out the exercises as if I was going on a bike ride, I’ve not had a GPS watch before and it wouldn’t connect for ages, then I read online that you need a clear view of the sky, as soon as I walked outside it connected (drr!).
I do not like the fact that they have swapped the button on the side for a sensor. With my watch worn on my left wrist, I would naturally use my right index finger and press the button from the top, but the sensor does not recognise my index finger, so I just have to use my right thumb – it sounds silly but when you are so used to doing something a certain way, it takes a while to alter how you do it so it’s been a bit of a pain, plus my thumb has never worked first time on the sensor either.. it works fine when I’m holding the watch in my hand, but when it’s on my wrist it so far takes about 3 tries every time, I’m hoping i’ll start getting it right soon, I think the sensor is possible too near to the rest of my arm when wearing the watch that my finger doesn’t cover it all as when I take the watch off I can do it easily with my thumb, but again it won’t work with index finger on or off which is strange.
The motion of turning my wrist to get the screen to light up seems to work loads faster than my Versa 2 which I was having to really exaggerate the action for. It used to work faster so maybe they all slow down, but I’d only had it 16 months!
I am not a fan of the strap, and twice have already dropped the watch whilst trying to put it on. I’ve ordered a different strap now and a protective cover. I’d never had to change the strap on my Versa 2, it has always been fine.
I don’t really use the watch for much else, just bike rides and HIIT workouts so I can’t write about the other functions. I’m trying it out on a ride tonight. I’ll update this review in time if I need to.
**REVIEW UPDATE 15 Months after purchase –
I have been wearing my Versa 3 every day since I brought it. It has been great and I’ve not had any of the previous sync or connection issues. It’s been very reliable so far with syncing to strava for my bike rides.
I still find the sensor ‘button’ a bit hard to turn on first time, so I never got used to it, it’s always been a bit awkward to me and I still think a button like on the Versa 2 would have been a better design.
With regards to the motion of turning my wrist to get the watch display to light up, this seems to have slowed just like the Versa 2 did which is weird. I sometimes have to exaggerate a big turn of my wrist 2-3 times when I want to look at the display when out on my bike using it, and when not using it and just wanting to look at the time, it could do with being a second faster.
I’ve never used the original strap, as I much prefer to buy a separate nylon stretchy strap where you don’t have to undo the strap to get the watch on, you just pull it on. If you buy one though, always go for ones with metal clasps over plastic, as I’ve had a nice plastic one but it lasted 6 months. The metal one i’m on now has so far lasted 7ish months.
Overall, I love this, like I said I’ve worn it every day, it still looks new and I’ve even got tan marks from not taking it off. I used it for road biking, roller skating, walking and I have swam in it too. Oh, the screen locks when you go for a swim and it’s very very difficult (took me 5 mins) to unlock it to stop the exercise so beware of that.
It’s my first fitness or smart watch so I don’t have any other to compare. So far I’m adapting well to it and finding it good.
Went for a run with a friend that has an Apple Watch and GPS gave the same trajectory and distance. For now it seems accurate enough.
In the other day I have made a Zumba classe and on the end the watch said I have done 10 flights of stairs (what’s not true) but I would say that any watch can be accurate enough to relate 100% the movement we are doing with an exercise.
Had an issue at the beginning with Alexa and spent an hour with customer services (Amazon one, they were amazing) and in the end we found out that my iPhone was set to Portugal and because the Fitbit use the same settings it assumed I was in Portugal and not on UK and so Alexa wasn’t working. As soon as I changed my phone location to UK Alexa was available to use.
Battery is very good. In one week and half I have charged 2x and have atm 83%.
I sleep with it for the sleep track, seems also accurate.
I was expecting to have all notifications that I receive on my phone also on the watch but it just receives notifications for the message, not for WhatsApp or Facebook for example.
The app I think could be better, but I’m using the free version.
I have my Fitbit connected with MyFitnessPal and Flo and they share data what is nice.
Would like to have it connected to the Nike app also but I can always set the training on the Watch.
And I think so far is that. I’m using for 10 days now.
Would buy it again.
