Great for me as I have long really thick curly hair and after using them it feels so much thinner, smoother and silkier.
I bought this for my wife recently as her original GHD Platinum+ styler has finally given up the ghost after many years of regular use. The GHD Platinum+ was the styler recommended by her hairdresser many years ago, and he is still recommending it to this day! I think this shows how well-regarded they are in top-level, professional hairdressing circles. This version came with a variety of extras such as a brush, some hair styling spray and a neat heat-resistant bag to hold it all in. The Bodyguard hair spray is used to keep the hair safe from damage due to heat, and the All Rounder Paddle Brush is the perfect companion for brushing the hair into smooth, glossy styles. Despite its expensive price, I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this styler to anyone with discerning taste and a desire to own such a professional piece of kit.
Another excellent buy wife really happy with them she said there the best she has ever used and believe me she has went through quite a lot over the years but these are best she has ever had
Bad points: overpriced, heating plates are quite short so you will have to do your hair in small strands

These straighters are brilliant. So smooth to the hair, heat up very quickly, so easy to use. Beautifully presented, the red box is an added bonus.

Slightly more rounded than the old gold version, allowing for less dragging when curling hair. The temperature is set so you are unable to adjust, but this is done to help protect your hair. These are the same ones which my hairdresser uses and recommended to me.
Having used GHDs for years I did consider trying Cloud 9 however in reading some of the reviews of this product and always liking GHD I decided to get this product.
It didn’t disappoint. My older GHDs were getting worn and I could tell it was taking longer and my hair was not staying straight very long.
This product glides through your hair and and is much lighter than my old GHDs. Leaving my hair shiny.
I haven’t used these to curl my hair yet but can see from videos it is easy and will try.
If you are a GHD lifer these are great.
Had a GHD Gold before but the platinum is so much better! Excellent styling and smoothing and so nice to hold and use, my waves are banished!
The white version may get a bit dirty but its easily wiped cleaned with baby wipes
Love GHDs and would not use other brand but there is the occasional trapping of hair unlike previous versions.
They do a much better job than her previous one and are the best straighteners she has ever had. What is handy, they come with a case for the tongs so when they are hot and you put them down, you don’t need to worry about them setting fire to the carpet.

LOVE these straighteners. Incredibly simple to use, they smooth my very long, thick hair in one pass and the hair remains very health looking with a nice shine. They’re easy to use to add curls/shapes too. Nothing not to like!

Got these for my wife and she couldn’t be happier, literally cut her hair straightening time in half. Only downside is when you turn them on and off they make a loud noise
Not going to lie these are stupidly over priced however, my daughter loves them. She has very long thick curly hair and these have worked brilliantly on her hair. So, v expensive but they turned out worth for the smile the put on my daughters face.

I have thick frizzy/ stubborn hair. It’s medium length. Iv been using TRESemm keratin smooth 230 for 7 years now and it takes me over 1 hour to straighten my hair after a shower. This is to get it fully straight without any bumps.
This GHD Platinum + did the job well under 20 mins. I got each strand straight and with a smooth finish with one stroke. I section my hair in two parts, top and bottom. And I got around each section in under 10 mins.
I am well pleased with this purchase. Best early Christmas treat to myself ever.
Girls, if your contemplating on buying this, trust me I rarely write reviews for a product I buy on Amazon but this is worth sharing. Go for it. It’s the best straightener out there to date!!! TREAT yourself
Only had this product a few weeks – but so far, so good. My only negative comment is that there are grooves next to the hotplates that are always catching my hair, and to get the strands out, they often end up breaking off. It often hurts as you can’t see your hair catching when straightening the back of your head… Design at this price should be better in my opinion.
After various straighteners over the years I decided to take the plunge and invest in ghd… leaves my kinky hair straight and in good condition. Only thing I would say I’d that they are abit wide so you have to use on small sections of hair so you can get close to the root… excellent for creating waves too…
I’m really pleased with this product. I bought these hair straighteners when we were in the last lockdown, having booked my hair appointments when we came out, Sadly my hairdresser has closed down, so I’m so thankful I made this purchase. My hair is looking good, I’m finding the straighters very easy to use.
They give a bleep when they are ready to use, ( a few seconds) and a light comes on. After use it is so easy to switch them off when another bleep happens.
I bought these straighteners as an upgrade to my GHD V Gold straighteners & wow what an upgrade. The significant difference for me can be broken down into 2 very simple main features – the new hot plates which frankly cause the straighteners to just glide through your hair – no pulling & certainly no catching hair in the unit itself of which I’d seen reviews saying this had happened. Secondly the body of the straighteners stays cool, which is a great feature. I will point out my Gold straighteners were max (wide plates) and the platinum+ are the standard slimmer plates. I instantly felt more control & could get closer to the roots this avoiding the ‘ridge’ at the top & back of my hair.
I have long thick naturally curly hair & 30 mins of straightening, which is around the same length of time I would straighten my hair, and my hair was straight, glossy & felt amazing. No frizz & my hair stayed straight all day, in fact the straightest I’ve ever known it, in fact I didn’t even use any product on my hair. For *coughs loudly* years I’ve struggled with thick frizzy hair and this I can honestly say is a game changer!! I was reluctant to spend more money when I had a perfectly good set of straighteners but I am so glad I have!
I also took the Prime deal to pay over 5 months – it’s a no brainer!
This is the first GHD straightener I’ve ever owned and although they are expensive, they are 100% worth the price for 70% less damage to hair. My hair is bleached which is why I hardly ever use my standard ceramic coated straighteners, so when I saw these for 160 quid I had to have them.
My hair feels healthy and looks amazing after using these. They heat up super quick and 1 pass straightens my hair so I don’t need to continually go over the same section. I use the platinum+ along with the GHD heat defence spray even though it states you don’t need to use heat defence with these. Highly recommend!
If you’re hesitating about paying the extra for the platinum version I highly recommend you do it, especially if you’re considering sacrificing the higher spec model for one of the colour editions (they do look pretty, but I’d rather spend my money on the results rather than an on trend colour version of a tool that’s kept in my bedroom drawers) If the previous GHDs I’ve owned are to judge by it’s an investment for at least a decades worth of unbeatable sleekly styled hair. I have also kept the box it comes in – I actually still have the large wooden padded red satin box that came with my Scarlet edition years ago, but this one is still quite sturdy and large enough to store sectioning clips, heat pad etc. Now that I’ve given myself a YouTube crash course on how to create salon worthy curls and waves I’m very excited to see the results I can accomplish with this!
Iis very easy to use, excellent quality, chic design and I’m very happy that I could get it here on Amazon cheaper than to get it locally in HK, even included the shipping cost.
I bought another renowned brand Axxxx from another website before, don’t mention that it was not working at all when I received it, quality is cheap and the price is ridiculous in HK. I returned it and got full refund right away even I could exchange it. Their mini version is handy for travel though.
If you are looking for a hair straightener, I definitely suggest this one, 2 of my friends bought the same one in black color, they love it too.
My wife bought them after borrowing her friends during a weekend trip away. Said they were the best she had ever used….. just before her birthday. Still says they are the best she has ever used, not her first set of GHD’s either.
Daughter-in-law borrowed these during a trip away in the USA – they are dual voltage – said they are the best she had ever used even on 110V – has now purchased a set herself.
In our Motorhome (in the UK) these straighteners have been in campsites with low available amps and worked where the 2,200W hair dyer has tripped the box.
So all in all, they seem to do the job well and impress where ever they go.
