I ordered 2 other cheaper taps before finally settling on this tap. You get what you pay for. This is sturdy easy to fit with adapters you buy separately. Nice.

It took less than 10 minutes to fit. Did have to purchase some aspires for the tail pipe as the compression push fit was the right size, but easy bought on Amazon.

The tap has an easy flow, and looks great. Very impressed.

Needed to replace a Grohe mixer tap which had started to leak (after 10 years) and was a little tarnished – a replacement ceramic filter was almost the same price as the tap – so fitted a new unit. All the parts were in the box including new “tails” – so a simple job and simple to complete as it was a like for like replacement.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat quality taps, very solid and lovely to use. However, the flexi pipes attached are designed for European piping, not UK. If you’re fitting to 15mm UK copper piping via isolator valves you will need:

    2 x 15MM X 3/8″ adapters (one for hot, one for cold)
    2 x 15mm compression nuts
    2 x 15mm olives

Our taps had been in for 9 years and looked awful, one leaked and dripped
Went for Grohe because I had used them in hotels and they worked well and always looked a quality product
The tap is exceeding our expectations, the chrome finish is high quality, the taps work smoothly
They look superb, its worth paying the extra
    Very pleased

The handle is very smooth and water pressure very even. The only thing is that the wide flat top gets some lime buildup, which you need to clean constantly.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis is the best bathroom tap in the world I think. I bought one about five years ago (which still looks and feels brand new despite being used multiple times a day by my children aged 1-5). I liked it so much I have now replaced all taps in the house (except the kitchen) with this tap.

Smooth action, easy to clean. It feels like the kind of tap you get in a very fancy hotel.

As other reviewers have mentioned, the tails on the tap do not fit UK pipes. It’s is an easy fix – you just need to also order “Grohe 46914000 46914000-15mm x 3/8” UK Compression Fittings/Adapter”. Put those fittings on your pipes, and then the tails of the tap screw into the fittings.

Plumber installed it. He had no problem installing it, probably why he recommended it, and we both liked it.

Very good quality tap with spout long enough to wash hands and not too far to be be an obstruction when washing your face etc..

Great looking simple plain design that is sturdy and easy to clean and maintain. Can’t say if it’s easy to install because my plumber did it (and it took him time because he had a tight area to work in).

Nice tap and easy enough to fit but comes with 3/8 G connectors which are not common in UK. You will need to buy reducing connections if you fit to 15 mm isolating valves. Because of the above the hoses are also quite small diameter this could effect flow if you have poor water pressure.
    Nicely made and look good.

Great quality tap as expected from Grohe, secure fitting and looks great. Handle is very smooth and aerator means no splashes.

Only negative is the flexi pipes use a fitting whereas U.K. standard is inch. You’ll want to pick up the right fitting to attach these to your pipework.

The in-laws bought a cheap mixer tap. Every time I use it, I’m reminded why I buy Grohe ones.
Well engineered, easy to install, easy to control, good flow rate. I’ve also developed a liking for their wall valves (I used to use bog standard service valves at about 1/5th the price) used in conjunction with JG wall plates. The mixer tap tails screw directly on without further adapters and the end result is not something you feel compelled to hide.

This is not the first product from Grohe I purchased, very high quality. I have some taps which were bought 15 years ago and still looks like new from Grohe. Tried British and Chinese brands in between and always end up replacing them; trust the brand and you save a lot of time to replace it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a good quality tap, other reviews already mention the extras, – compression adaptor and base plate required to fit this tap in the UK. However, there is a fly in the ointment regarding how this tap is design.
The lever of the tap and spout is flat, so when you wash your hands the water tends to drip on to the flat spout leaving a soapy scum. You may find that you will have to clean the tap more often than usual, especially if you live in a hard water area of the UK. I think a slight curve in the in the spout and lever would be a better design for hand washing purposes.

Quality product, expected straight forward connection to existing plumbing but required https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B087CG9JC2/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1
    Compression nuts

Great tap but a pain to fit. European pipe connector so you need a converter which I found incredibly difficult to source from the usual diy outlets. In the end it cost me another 12 to be able to fit. Otherwise this is a quality tap as you’d expect from Grohe. So now fitted I’m very happy

A solid bathroom basin tap that feels premium. Comes with flexi tap tails with euro 15 mm fittings that as far as I’m aware are not easily removable. I needed a couple of extra fittings to attach them to my existing 10mm push fit pipe work. It’s also worth checking the diameter of the pillar isn’t smaller than the hole in your basin, I needed a little plumbers mait to seal around the tap as the supplied o-ring couldn’t make a good seal with the large hole in my basin.

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersI purchased this Grohe basin tap firstly because of the relatively low price for a branded tap, and secondly because I liked the style, although my wife wasn’t convinced based on the pictures as it looked very tapered, but the tapering is a lot more minimal in reality.
I did have concerns about reviews that said the tab was to small for UK basin holes, but thought I would give it a go being it’s distributed by Amazon, so I could return easily. These review were indeed correct for the basin I have…it’s just a couple of millimetres too small. However, I really like the tap, so I started looking into how it could be adapted. I found a Grohe base plate on Amazon (pictured) that makes this tap work on UK sized holes. Downside is the additional cost of 14.
If you do go ahead with buying this (and I do recommend it), you will likely need to purchase 2 x 15mm to 12mm reducing compression joints (also pictured), as the Flexi feeds are euro spec. These cost me a couple of pounds from a plumbers merchant.
Worth noting that this tap requires a balanced water system, and pressure above 1 bar. I have a combination boiler with very good water pressure, so it works well. Unbalanced systems will require a non-return valve on the hot water feed (additional cost).
I will be purchasing another soon to replace a Bristan tap that is extremely noisy due to my good water pressure.

Lovely tap but extras needed for UK fitme

This is one of the easiest to fit tap. The only issue is you need to add adaptor for fitting on to 1/2 inch pipe here in UK. Still I would recommend it because it is ready fitted on tap side and rubber washer is one of the beast in market without doubt.

What’s to say. Good tap, easy to fit. Just make sure to get the right reduction fittings if you need them, see many of the other reviews here that refer to that. And a tip, double check before you start fitting the tap whether you do or don’t need them. Or do the fitting right early in the day so you can head off to the hardware shop when you find out you didn’t check properly and you do in fact need them. I speak from experience…..

Lovely tap, although we’ve only used for two days.
On fitting we lost three days waiting for adaptors to arrive as the trailing tap connectors supplied with the tap are EU standard not UK standard i.e. the connectors that are supplied with the tap are ” / 12mmm but standard UK fitting are ” / 15mm.
We were connecting to 15mm isolating valves so needed these here; https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B019MAVQNI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 to make the tap connectors fit rather than the adaptors shown on the tap product page, which did not work for us.

I’m quiet happy with it, just wanted point out 2 things though:

    – If you are in the UK you will need to buy some separate adaptors (2×6 on Amazon) as the tap comes with EUR
    connectors.
    – The flat design of the tap means water is likely to seat on it and thus would requires regular cleaning to avoid white stain (everyday in my house..)

Wow. Just amazing at an incredible price. After spending a fortunate on a bathroom refurb with expensive black taps, I found myself needing to replace them for the plating flaking away. Knowing Grohe are of good quality I couldn’t believe this was less than 40. I bought some 15mm to 3/8 adapters that sit in the top of an isolation valve to work with this unit. The step up is incredible. Better flow, much quieter, better control. It is just incredible. I’m now buying grohe and nothing else ever again.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThe tap is excellent quality it came well packaged and all necessary parts to install tap included, you will require x2 15mm-3/4″ male connectors as most small basin taps have European hose connections this is not unusual and they are easy to get hold of on here or at screwfix etc.

The tap is a very high end finished product and the flow from the tap is excellent on a high pressure combi boiler set up, if you live in a new build you will have a high pressure system so will have no problem with this tap if you do not have a combi boiler or have a low pressure system you need to look at another tap or install a pump as the flow will dribble out!

As long as you read the description fully and purchase the appropriate adaptors if you do not already have them the tap is fantastic value and excellent quality.

This is an excellent tap and I’m really pleased with the purchase, delivery and quality. It’s also fairly straightforward to install.

However don’t make the same mistake as me. As this is a German product it comes with hot and cold flexi tails already attached. So they are designed to connect to European 3/8″ bps fittings. UK isolating valves are 1/2″(15mm)

Therefore I needed to get an adapter from my local plumbing merchant. The issue being Easter and the lockdown. So no tap all over the extended bank holiday weekend.

I also had to alter my pipe work as the tails are only 10mm and can easily kink.

Otherwise a really good product and we’re very pleased ence only 4 stars

What can I say quality piece of kit! But beware you may need two 15mm to 12mm couplers, the grohe tap requires 12mm thread and the 15mm thread being on the isolation valve size.

You may also need ptfe tape to go round the compression olive and LSX sealer to go around the new plug hole surround when mounting into your sink to create a water tight connection.

I had to remove my whole sink from the wall to strip down and remove the old waste and tap and clean up ready for reinstall.

I used a Stanley knife to cut away old silicone, then I spent some time working a decorating scraper around the back of the sink to loosen from the crazy amount of silicone sploged round the back, I took my time, kept my patience and all went swimmingly well, on youtube there is sink removals by experts and they crack the rear tile so be careful!

Very good quality tap – nice smooth flow of water, not at all splashy and goes right into the plug hole. Only thing to be aware of is that it does say grohe on top with red and blue dots which I don’t think you can see in the pictures. But I knew this as it matches my fabulous grohe bath/shower tap.

Not much to say about this other than it’s Grohe so it’s going to be a nice item every time. The tap is lovely to look at and it does exactly what it says on the tin. You’ll need 15mm to 3/8 compression adapters so don’t forget those – they aren’t always that easy to come across either so just order the recommended Grohe ones from Amazon and you’ll be fine.
There are minimum requirements for pressure on this tap so be aware if you have low water pressure then this tap isn’t for you, buy one specifically suited to low water pressure and don’t take the risk.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersThe mixer tap is well made but is designed for a 34 mm diameter hole in the basin. I didn’t know the hole diameter of my basin until I had removed the old tap, which was when I had received the new one and was ready to fit it. My basin hole was 30 mm which was too small for the 33.5 mm diameter step in the mating flange of the new tap. Although the supply pipes and fixing stud easily passed through the 30 mm hole, the step on the flange was unable to locate into the hole, as it was designed for a hole 4 mm larger.

The solution was to carefully grind a 2 mm deep, 2 mm wide step around the edge of the hole with a Dremel using a green button stone. Although the basin is glazed ceramic, the Dremel was able to cut through the glazing to the earthenware underneath. It took a while but the new mixer then fitted perfectly. There is an O-ring which fits into a groove on the flange which mates with the glazed surface surrounding the hole.

The fixing nut is 13 mm AF. It’s just possible to get a ring spanner on it but it would have been much easier with a 13 mm tube spanner (or deep socket).

Another thing to watch is the supply flex hoses which have 3/8″ connectors not 1/2″. I subsequently bought a pair of 3/8″ – 15mm tap connector tail pieces from my local Toolstation which fitted into the existing isolating valves.

    Installation issues

Grohe is my go to tap of choice for bathroom sinks. They all require a male compression fitting from metric to imperial so make sure you get two of those to fit, it’s 15mm x 3/8″ (you can get them at plumbing supplies or on Amazon..) so they can be fitted to UK pipes.

The tap’s lever has a nice feel, super easy to use and the water comes out all bubbly just like in hotels or areas with soft water (I’m in a city with hard water yet with this tap the water feels soft).

This is also the best price online, 39 for German quality that makes a big change to a bathroom. It looks smart and feels good to use. Something so basic but done right.
