Anytime I have visited, my grandson is using this as a car, park, house, dinosaur exhibit, storage for his play dishes. I love seeing that it is used in many ways and not just as a doll house. Very sturdy. Should easily last through the second child as well.

Purchased this for my kid’s third birthday and so far they love it. I also bought many of the furniture add-ons, I have included a picture of them, as well.
My only complaint was one set of stairs came unglued when I removed the parts from the packaging, but it will be an easy fix and honestly the stairs still stay out even without that top piece.
Assembly was pretty simple and straight forward.

Ich habe das Haus vergnstigt gekauft. Den vollen Preis htte ich dafr nicht ausgeben. Da hier und da Leim Reste sind, sich das Hschen nicht ganz justieren lsst. Aber zum spielen reicht es. Christmas present for a 2 year old who loves it. Has loads of individual furniture pieces that come with it, all of which are very nice, and the house itself is really lovely. Looks great, not over bearingly large, sturdy, and fairly easy to assemble. I also bought the hape car and matching African American family and the whole set is brilliant.
A tip on assembly is not to overtighten the screws.
I wanted to get this for my son who enjoys playing with the dolls house at school. This is very gender neutral, a lot of the dolls houses are typically aimed towards girls and are very pink. There is easy access to all of the rooms which makes playing easy and my son loves that he is able to take the roof panels off. It’s very good quality, easy to assemble and I would definitely recommend
For example, in my photos, we have the add-on kids’ bedroom and dining room sets from Hape, as well as a set of kitchen accessories (bottles, boxes, dishes) from Haba, which are mostly in the fridge and cabinets, so not very visible in photos. The wardrobe in the parents’ room does have useable space, and we have the Haba doll that comes with multiple outfits, so maybe we will store her clothes in there.
The topmost room is empty right now, but that’s not because there was nothing to go there. We’re going to put the add-on baby’s room from Hape there—just waiting for it to arrive in the mail. We also plan to put the Haba laundry room set in the bathroom, the Haba bunny hutch on either the balcony or the space beside the living room, and the Haba kitty in the kids’ room. By the way, Hape makes a lovely set of three pets (dog, cat, and bunny); it’s just that my daughter already has the Haba ones, and they fit well. Without the add-ons, I think I would have done the “double living room” (as shown in the manufacturer’s photos) and either and truly left the topmost room empty, as though a second balcony.
Under the kitchen is some empty space, and I’ve heard that you can park the Hape car there. The Haba vet car also fits, as we verified. I also think this space will be useful for storing dolls, laid flat. We don’t have any of the Hape dolls (again, yet—who knows?!), but we have many of the Haba Little Friends Dolls, hence purchasing this house. As with the pets mentioned above, Hape’s dolls (the wooden ones shown in the manufacturer’s photos) are also perfect for this house; we just happened to have the Haba ones already. I absolutely appreciate the ability to mix/match the two lines!
Assembly was not difficult. If you’re not used to assembling wooden furniture, etc., it might not be easy or necessarily intuitive. However, if you look at the instructions beforehand and think it through, it’s no problem. From the time I cut open the box to the time I placed the last piece of furniture, it took about an hour. That includes unwrapped (items come bubble/tissue wrapped), studying the instructions, inventorying the pieces, and so on. I’m not very “handy,” so I took my time, to ensure I wouldn’t make a fatal mistake. Someone else could probably assemble it faster than I did, especially with a helper.
My top pieces of advice for assembly are: 1) study the instructions first, 2) make sure you have all the pieces and lay them out orderly, 3) line up all the screws in the holes before tightening any on that side (because then you won’t have the problem of screws not fitting, due to misaligned holes), and 4) take the time you need to work comfortably and confidently.
I cannot imagine that my daughter will not absolutely love this house, given all the anticipation and how absolutely wonderful it is. If it does disappoint her, I will update to add her comments. I also hope that I can get some better photos once the gift is actually given. Right now, it’s wedged in a corner of the basement, so I apologize if the photos are not clear enough to be helpful.
In all, this is the dollhouse of dreams. Any little girl or boy would love it and get many years of enjoyment from it. It’s also definitely large enough and has enough access points that two children could easily play with it together. I’m so glad we purchased this, and I definitely recommend it. Thank you, Hape!
Bought this doll house for my granddaughter. It’s really sturdy and my husband commented how well it was made when he put it together, which he did on his own in a fairly short time (he is very handy though!). I’m really pleased with the quality, including that of the furniture – it’s made to last and not at all flimsy – can’t wait to give it to her at Christmas. The price is fluctuating – paid 85 which I think is good value and would definitely recommend
I think this must be the best designed dolls house out there and it is already a much-loved toy at only a week old. It’s well made, sturdy, has some nice touches (the adjustable light and double-sided roof), and I think will be enjoyed by the whole family for many, many years. Definitely worth the money.
First of all Hape is not selling this product correctly in their description. Too much awesomeness has been missed out! This DOLLS house is BEAUTIFUL and creatively made. I’m going to go in to details for those that would appreciate it like I would have!
The dolls house comes with 36 pieces- I have included a photo for ease of all the items you actually get with the house.Cute ref: bathroom has duck for the bath or shower a towel and a real mirror!!! Bedroom has real mirror on dressing table. Wardrobe has hanging rail and shelfs. One staircase has half stairs and half slide!!! How cool? There is a very large section under the kitchen area of the house to store a car!
The kitchen has mini accessories like a juicer oots and pans! Extra boys like lamps and a Tv,fireplace,cushions and rugs make this dolls house feel real and homey. I would definitely recommend this for a girl or a boy. It’s the perfect size for a few kids to play as its very open and quite big! Everything was included, easy to build in less than an hour and very sturdy! This will last years to come! Thank you for beautiful dolls house with excellent delivery! Well worth every penny!
A note. We brought the African American family which has no baby so I brought the living room and kids bedroom set and that’s all that’s needed! You get everything else included! Were going to eventually get the car and outside playset and I think that would be the only additions needed. Love love love!
One of the long pieces of wood that extend from the back to the front of the house (I think there are 12 in total) was faulty. The hole where a screw goes in was too large and the screw didn’t bite. This wasn’t really an issue, as a whole the house still felt solid so I just ignored it. I was assembling it late on Christmas Eve so returning it wasn’t really an option.
Overall happy with it. Quite a bit cheaper than some alternatives and the lack of a hinged front at first looks unfinished but I think it’s actually a bonus because the ones I saw in shops looked flimsy and the doors would not last long in my opinion.
Bought This for my 2 and half year old daughter for Christmas along with the extra bedroom bunk bed set. Easy to put together well my husband found it easy all parts present and correct. She loves it. Already looking at extra room packs to buy. Would like an extra set of stairs and that they were fixed.
This a great looking modern toy house that’s had positive comments from friends seeing it in action in our living room. I recommend the modern family of dolls to go with it, they’re much more up to date in style with what kids play with.
My 3 yr old daughter also uses Playmobil and My Little Pony’s in the house so it’s great watching her creativity grow with other toys too. This house is the focal point of her roll play games at the moment.
The only problem was that one pair of the drilled holes were not properly aligned so the screw couldn’t go in, but 1 out of 24 was not a big deal – we just left that one out. Otherwise very easy to assemble. No other flaws, all the parts were included. Great dollhouse!
Well made (pity it’s from China) reasonably easy to assemble although I used a dril/driver otherwise manually with an Allen type key supplied would have been tedious given how many screws there are. Slightly quirky layout but the granddaughter loves it so that’s all that matters.
I bought this as a gift for my daughter’s 5th birthday, and she is sharing it with her 2 year younger brother who also plays with it, although less frequently. It is a good size, easy to move and carry around, and well equipped with furniture. It’s so great to be able to buy something wooden! I find the furniture pieces are well made and it’s overall a good price. It arrived very quickly, within 5 days or so.
Brought this doll house for my son (2) and daughter (5) as a joint Christmas present this year and, miracles do happen, they’ve actually played with it together really nicely so far! It’s brilliant quality as you’d expect for the price, is pretty simple to put together and comes with plenty of furniture to get you started. No people though, so I bought the Hape modern family to go with it. Hoping they’ll get a lot of use out of this over the years.

I wanted a dolls house for my 2 yr old daughters birthday and got in a real pickle looking at all the negative reviews on Amazon. Finally settled for this one and we all LOVE it. Beautifully designed and crafted, easy to put together, sturdy and will provide years of fun. Comes with some furniture, but I like the fact we can customise it ourselves with additional sets. Good extra presents from grandparents! We have the Hape family and the car, and they all work perfectly together. Highly recommend!
This marvellous house is a real hit with my 3 year old grandson. Lovely strong wood, plenty of furniture provided & many little details, e.g. pan with lid, toilet seat, hanging lights. He & little friends have had hours of fun & it has been delightful watching the imaginative play.
Beautiful dolls house, great design with lots of access for small hands, lovely furniture included. I bought the individual have figures to go with it. Our little boy loves it!
This is the second piece of Hape furniture purchased via Amazon, absolutely superb!
Delivery was excellent, and very impressed with the quality of this item. Worth every penny, and our granddaughter is thrilled with it!
So far I suppose this doesn’t sound like a four star review! But it really is a beautiful toy, the roof can easily be turned over to have it snowy or grassy – I love the “solar panel” design! The door opens inwards and moves really nicely, a bizarre notion perhaps but it just feels nice to open and shut. Three of the floors have a plain wood design but the base floor is brickwork (For a cellar or perhaps a garage) and the kitchen/bathroom areas have different tiled designs. There are two moveable staircases, one seems to have a slide at the side which my children love. There are two lampshades hanging down from the centre which the kids enjoy pulling to different lengths. The furniture included is simply stunning. There is a bathroom set – Sink, shower, bath, toilet, a fish rug, little towel and a tiny toy duck. A kitchen set – Cooker, fridge, sink unit, little towel, food mixer, saucepan and lidded container. Living room – Rug, TV, fireplace, sofa, armchair, coffee table, tiny cushions, lamp and houseplant. Master bedroom – Bed with bedding, rug, lamp, wardrobe and dresser with stool. All the little doors open, the plant has bendy leaves and one of the lamps is also bendy. A lot of thought went into the design of this product and it really is wonderful. The other reviews say it is nice and sturdy so although it does not seem it right now I shall think positively.

Given that this has been a popular item on Amazon, I’d like to make a few comments that I haven’t seen in other reviews, and offer a couple counter points to criticisms I’ve read that made me cross my fingers when I first ordered this.
1) The quality of the wood and wood furniture is great. Some of the seams don’t come together perfectly, similar to how a prefabricated picture frame doesn’t often come perfectly together in all four corners, but nonetheless it looks awesome. Definitely maintains a high end look and feel relative to many plastic and even other wooden doll houses I’ve come across.
2) It’s *super* easy to assemble! This is what had me worried a bit when I first bought it, and perhaps Hape has made some revisions to the assembly since the product first was introduced on Amazon, but it took me 10 minutes to assemble and all the parts to put it together are included. No drilling necessary as some others indicated!
3) The *two* ladders are awesome, and one has a slide on half of it! My daugheter loves to send her baby Calico Critter Cats down the slide between floors. She also noticed right away that there aren’t stairs between each floor, but it they did this the middle would be so cluttered that you’d have a hard time moving about between the rooms. The ladders are mobile and easy to move from one floor to the next, or you can simply jump from room to room.
4) The open design is very conducive to play. The rooms are big and there is more than enough room to accommodate the furniture plus whatever dolls/critters you may have about the house
5) The furniture on the box isn’t necessarily what is in the box. Plus, the box shows furniture in all rooms, but only 4 rooms are pre-furnished (which is very clear on the box). The quality is outstanding. Awesome! And many of the cupboards open and shut, which is great fun. Our set included:
**Bedroom set: bed, dresser, small chair, mirror, lamp, floor mat, beddings and two pillows
**Bathroom set: toilet, shower, bathtub, floormat, wooden ducky, towels
**Kitchen set: oven/range, coffee maker and pot, pot with lid, sink, towels, table (but no chairs), fridge
**Living room set: plant, lamp, TV, fireplace, couch, loveseat, coffee table, pillows
Having two spares rooms is also very good in my opinion. My daughter keeps her cars and airplanes on the ground floor.
6) If you or your young one like to have non-traditional dolls (i.e., not human form) this set is great to work with all the Slyvanian Family or Calico Critters sets.
7) The roof is removable. It doesn’t screw or bolt down, but rather sets on pegs at an angle. It is very sturdy, and makes it easy to remove if you want extra movability in the top floors. Also, you can change the seasons of the roof from summer to winter theme. I don’t think the reverse of the green roof is shown on the box, but can be flipped to a white/blue winter style.
The only things to be careful of is (1) the style and large size of this doll house may make it tempting for a little one to scale the building like a ladder! The floors are constructed well, but surely wouldn’t support the weight of a kid; and (2) there may be a very small split piece of wood here or there around where the holes were drilled for the screw assemblage, thus creating the risk of a child getting a sliver if they handle the wood frame a lot. You may need to use a fine sand paper or just remove any small splits.
Again, this is such a cool doll house regardless of the price, and when considering the price it’s truly a tremendous value relative to just about anything else I’ve seen. I really like the Calico Critters dolls for my daughter, but their doll houses, furniture, etc. are wildly expensive, plastic, small, and (in my opinion) cheap looking–having this for furniture and a larger, classier style home is a perfect combination (that will save you a ton of money!). Hape doll house isn’t overly girly and promotes fun and play–I am sure many boys would like this too…I could see Cobras on one side and G.I. Joes on the other!
