If your a technical person I’d go and read other people’s review, if like me your just an average person that has had to buy a new TV cus your old 1 broke then I would recommend this one! Going from an old 32inch Bush and still using a smart plug to this 1 looks initially confusing but I found it easy to set up, just using the qr code and follow the instructions, sky plugged into hdmi and off you go! I read someone else’s review to go to setting and put it onto speech mode helps the voices over the background music. Only thing is you still need to use the TV remote instead if the sky to change volume but that’s such a minor thing. Definitely happy and overall impressed for the money!
Got during the prime day sale. What amazing value. Great tv and good picture and sound quality.
Bought this for our spare room when we have guests. Easy setup and very happy with the purchase.
Have been looking for a new TV for months but did not wish to pay too much. I bought this in the prime day sale which was only 30 less than the previous cheapest price but was within my budget. Wow I’m so impressed with it. The sound isn’t great but the picture is amazing and for just under 300 for 55inch, it’s a bargain. If you are thinking of buying this budget tv then go for it.
Bought this TV for the bedroom very pleased with it, it’s got loads of stuff on it, seems very responsive not like the Bush one i have in the living room which i sometimes want to throw out the window as its slow to respond. This TV is definitely value for money. Looks great sounds great would 100% buy this brand agai
I had a 43 inch and I wanted to see about an upgrade and I looked about for a bit then just came straight back to the original hisense but in a 50inch and it’s brilliant picture it comes with everything you need in a modern TV most importantly it’s picture quality for gaming on the ps5 is superb like I was completely flabbergasted at the better quality picture I was seeing don’t know if just coz bigger screen but it’s excellent been grinding diablo 4 non stop as it’s quality of picture is so good on this TV and it’s also got great sound though I do prefer using a soundbar and subwoofer for music an movies
For the price I’m really impressed brought for my bedroom but I’d happily use this as main tv. I’ve paid way more in the past for not as good quality. Time will tell if it stands the test of time but so far really impressed
This TV is great value for money with sharp images and fast response times for a TV of its size, I have my console connected to it and I couldn’t be happier with the quality.
Unfortunately it is let down by its low quality remote and poor GUI but if you’re using a device connected over HDMI (or other video ports) both the GUI and remote are obsolete.
Picture and sound is superb and a great feature is you shouldn’t need a new TV unit! Being a 65 inch and seeing it had the little legs at both edges of the screen instead of a centre pedestal stand we bought a new table top stand as our current living room furniture wouldnt be long enough. Upon putting together we noticed it has two spots for attaching feet 1 at each edge and 1 much closer together meaning it could sit on our normal TV unit fine.
+ Picture quality is great (upscaling definitely does its job)
+ HDR works well without the red-ghosting some TVs (like TCL) show
+ Sound is not as tinny as some
+ Good connectivity (and Bluetooth to soundbar is in sync)
– Vidaa doesn’t seem that great, compared to pure Android TV (e.g. you cannot uninstall apps)
– Although it has time shift, you cannot spontaneously pause TV or rewind… you need to enable the feature which then does 30min timeshif
Purchased to replace a six year old 50 inch TV of the same manufacturer, which is now relocated to another room and still going strong.
Vast user experience improvement, compared to the old set, with intuitive operation system, smart features with Alexa voice control.
Phone app also available as an alternative remote.
The remote control is light weight and easy to navigate allowing effortless navigation through the TV’s menus and settings. Its layout and functionality make it easy to adjust settings and switch between input sources. The remote did have issues within a couple of days, failing to respond, thought it may be a battery issue but now resolved with no further problem, accomplished this by switching off and restarting the TV a couple of times. Following this power down all user preferences defaulted to the manufacturers settings and had to be re-applied.
Excellent LCD picture quality and decent sound modes.
Built in blue tooth, capable of connecting multiple devices, so no need for an adaptor sender/reciever unit for late night headphone use. Headphone socket is also available if required, located next to the service port and look identical so be careful not to mix up the two.
Did have an issue connecting HDMI cables and a media streaming dongle/stick with inputs being close together, bit of a tight fit, now sourced an HDMI splitter for further connections.
Instant boot up and sleep.
Excellent value at time of purchase with small discount.
Highly recommended and on par with more expensive high end brands.
Edit: TV froze again with no response from remote, carried out same procedure as previous and now functioning as it should. Hope this is not an ongoing issue and if so may require intervention from hisense support. Removed one star from review rating due to this malfuntion.
This review is based a specific use case of it being a second screen for laptops in a meeting room. I cannot answer to its capability for steaming, watching TV, or gaming, though I would surmise they work just as well.

Exactly as described. Really sharp resolution and excellent built in surround sound. Bluetooth works with my Beats Studio 3 with no audio lag.
When I first turned it on, I was impressed with the speed it booted up. The apps already installed were great and you can see from the main screen what popular programs are on the apps without loading the app. I bought an extra strong bracket only to discover the TV only weight 17.5kg. Coupled with the sound bar and subwoofer, everything is amazing. Would highly recommend. The remote look a while to get used to.
I have now had this TV for months and I can’t say that there is anything wrong with it. Grate pic, great sound, value for money. Brilliant!
Packaged well. The picture is clear and sound is excellent. Would recommend to a friend.
I bought this to replace a Samsung model thats screen went black due a backlight issue.
The picture on this far outshines the dearer Samsung model that died after less than 16monthd.
Its a bargain at its current price of 239.99.
Wonderful picture, big selection of picture options, changes to picture can replicated on all sources with one click. The remote is a normal size, easy to navigate round and the whole TV operating system is so intuitive. Incredible value for money. If you are in the market for a new TV you must buy this one.
Bought for teenagers room. Mostly used for YouTube , prime video, and ps5 gaming. Great picture the sound isn’t the best need to fiddle with the settings. But it has a late night sound mode which takes the bass out very useful for late night gamers. Has a audio only mode which is very useful for us as kids need tv to sleep so we can use remote to press audio only mode and they can fall asleep with just the film sound. We now have 3 Hisense tvs very reliable great value and top quality.
Great purchase. Purchased this for my father who has always wanted a bigger TV. Picture quality is insane and the speakers are amazing. Internet features are fast and many apps come available within the actual tv itself. The remote control is easy to hold and relatively easy to see the numbers and controls printed. 100% recommend.
Setting up is a little annoying, but necessary to get the services all working. Once completed there are some guidance prompts that pop up when you first use the TV and handset. I’ve not used the voice control services so cannot comment on them. The picture is excellent, sound ok but I am using soundbar which richens the sound lovely. The smart services catch-up and streaming all function well. So far loving my new TV.
Great functionality….rubbish speakers. Get a sound bar then its all good.
This TV is brilliant! Only reason overall isn’t 5* is because unfortunately Amazon deliver it. They’re absolutely useless & you can expect to wait a week for delivery to a random neighbour without the OTP!
Got everything you would want sound is very good picture is excellent and easy set upgreat price
Decent tv would have rated 3.5 it’s not as good as my LG tv in living room, but as a budget tv it’s decent. The tv seems to leach light around the screen ( minimal) and I don’t particularly like the menu or start up screen. It’s good for the money 320 I payed 02/23 ideal for the bedroom with a 50inch screen and it’s features it’s more than adequate. Sound not amazing either.( maybe sound bar required?) Overall a good purchase.
Does everything and more. This a replacement for an ageing Samsung. The menus and OS isn’t up to the Samsung but that could be just familiarity.
Having recording and timeshift ability is a fantastic surprise. It was not mentioned in any literature. Other reviewers even stated that there wasn’t PVR.
The speed of the television compared to the Samsung is like lightening when loading apps and turning off. Using voice control is also a bonus.
The picture isn’t too bad. The let down for me is the sound. It’s adequate but I recommend a cheap soundbar.
All I hope for now is the reliability.
Second Hisense for me and have noticed on both that the picture is excellent but the sound is pretty bad on any setting. A soundbar is a must. It’s a shame but at such a price you ain’t going to get the moon on a stick! I would rather it this way than great sound but pants picture. If your going to add a soundbar make sure it has HDMI ARC which is the best way to connect the tv to the soundbar and then the sky Q remote works the volume.
For this price I could not be happier. The 4k is great and the colours are really really vivid and stunning. A thing to note: Every other size in inches on this model is a VA panel, and others an IPS panel, so for example my TV is 43″ and is IPS, the size up (50″) is VA, the size up from that IPS etc. Judging by the contrast ratio and value for money I would probably recommend the VA models as my IPS Hisense is a little bright in the blacks.
Other cons:
Ghosting is pretty prominent even with slow movement e.g cartoons.
Bit of a darkening/vignette in the corners.
Not very powerful and ‘ran out of memory’ error appears after playing 4K footage in a browser for 10 mins.
Overall: In the other room of my house there is a 1000 LG OLED and considering this tv is the same size but 750 less (at time of writing this) I would absolutely 100% recommend it, and the product has overall exceeded my expectations.
Got this TV just in time for the 2022 Qatar World Cup and to veg out on XMAS movies and it does exactly what it says on the tin.
It was easy to install and setup and to integrate with home cinema setup via my Denon AVR 1912 Receiver using ARC – Audio Return channel – and it produces decent performance from many sources Live TV, Blu Ray / DVDs, Amazon Prime and YouTube – although i have only used it with 1080p sources and not tried 4K yet.
The 50 Inch screen is great for sports and most TV content – but perhaps just adequate but still good for watching movies as i have to use the built in Movie Zoom to stretch letterbox content to more viewable 16:9. Its has a handy YouTube, Netflix and Amazon Prime apps built in but the inbuilt apps don’t support Movie Zoom features so i need to use my existing Amazon Fire stick via my Denon Receiver if i need to do it. Other than the movie Zoom there isn’t much of a requirement to adjust the picture,
The inbuilt sound system and speakers whilst don’t cut the mustard for movies or hq drama when you have a home cinema setup but they are certainly good enough for speech and sport type content.
