Great for reaching high cupboards the hand rails are a brilliant addition for older folk such as myself. Slightly heavy to lift and carry but I am very pleased with overall
This is a nice step ladder it’s just right for reaching the ceiling lights with the hand rail adding to the safety, the only downside it’s a little heavier than I thought, alright for me but my wife struggles a little. But overall it’s a great step ladder.
I didn’t attach the handles, finding the top sufficient for balance. The top shelves in my kitchen are higher than I can reach; I keep the ladder in the kitchen so that I can reach those shelves. It’s safer than the lower ladder I used to use. It’s also a better height for changing light bulbs than the lower ladder..
Unpacked and attached the 2 rails in 5 minutes, includes me going to get a Philips screwdriver, which is needed to help secure the rails properly. Feels stable and secure to me, a 64 year old 95Kg 1.83m male. A little h we aviary than expected, but acceptable given the height and stability. Appropriate is how I describe it’s weight.
I am very happy with these steps as they are really sturdy with wide steps plus I feel safe with the holding bar at the top.
They aren’t exactly lightweight although not heavy either so somewhere in the middle.
The fiddly little spanner was a nightmare to use to attach the hand rails and what should have been a 10 min job took quite a bit longer so you will need your own I feel.
Bought this for my 87yr old grandad, who is still fit as a fiddle & gardens every day pretty much. He wanted the deeper steps as he’s a UK 11 shoe. And I wanted him to have the grab rails either side. They’re spot on.
The stepladder is well made and the full size steps are great. The one thing we were disappointed with was the weight. We are both in good health but a bit on the elderly side (in our 80’s) and we do find it rather heavy.
These steps do what i want – they have support when i climb to the top step. Used to use ones without anything to hold onto and didn’t feel safe. These let you use all the steps safely. The side supports were a bit tricky to get tight and are a touch flimsy but the rest is sturdy.
Got fed up of having to use unstable chairs for getting to hard to reach things. This does the job and is more easily transportable around the house. Exactly what we needed.
This is a brilliant set of steps for anyone with balance issues or lower body issues. It is on the heavy side but the sturdiness and security it gives you make a up for it. I would have given it 5 stars except it has a big dentnon the frame when it arrived. I would have returned it and requested a replacement but just moved into my home and there’s a lot of high places I would not be able to paint without these steps.
I had a two step, steps and was beginning to feel a little uneasy balancing on the top step to fix a light bulb or remove the cover of a lampshade to clean inside. So far they are great. Be aware that they are not lightweight. They are made of painted steel tubing but they are easy enough to open and close and move around. They have large rubber treads on the steps and non slip rubber caps on the bottoms of the legs so they are very stable and I can hang on as I climb, work and descend. A proper set of “old” mans step ladders. I hate to admit it but I needed them at 72. A fall wouldn’t be funny any more.
I have been driven to ‘granny steps’ following a fall last year that had nasty consequences and resulted in my being a real wimp unless my feet are firmly on the floor. These steps are brilliant as the wide treads make it so much easier to stand securely, aided by the handrails (that I don’t always use). The steps are quite bulky when folded up so I screw the side rails on with wing nuts so they can be easily removed and used when required. They are substantial and not the usual lightweight variety so they are quite heavy if you need to be moving them around to use or store.
