6 Months after I bought this PC for 1550 it was on a great deal during shortage and for that price it is amazing it was better then building a pc from parts.
I’m a female gamer and I got this beauty for early Christmas from my bf. Beautiful stuff, handles my games perfectly and looks very sleek and elegant. Worth the money!
It’s been good so far after 3 months of use. No errors or random crashes or anything like that. Again, i’m not an elitist gamer who overclocks and all the rest of it. I did upgrade the RAM to 32GB mainly for MSFS. And i am about to upgrade the NVM pci 4.0 256GB to 1TB due to MSFS again haha. BUT, aside from those upgrades its been a great PC. In terms of FPS, i can run MSFS on ULTRA @ 1440P with a solid frame rate of 50ish (running windows 11).
I got this ‘Used’ on amazon for 868 which Is a v good price.
If you’re thinking of buying a cost effective small form factor casual gaming pc i can recommend it.
NOTE: Don’t forget when you buy it to remove the top metal plate inside the case (see YouTube vids) as it makes a significant impact on the airflow and cooling.
NOTE 2: Download the OMEN Gaming Hub app from the Microsoft app store as it has some cool lighting options of which i opt for a subtle white led light rather than christmas tree LED which some go for.
This PC, is excellent for gaming and is easy to setup and has software as standard to optimize for the best gaming experience. This pc is the only gaming PC that has a 2.1 hdmi for 4K gaming at 120hz unless you want a alternative PC that is that is at least 1000 more expensive.
Overall very solid and very impressed
It runs most things very well, even Flight Sim in 4k!
Be aware that when it’s running something intensive the cooling system is quite noisy, but not too bad.
In normal use it’s pretty much silent.
If in doubt, get it!
Noise levels are manageable, but something you definitely will notice.
I’m returning this item, just because it was listed as a “new” but came pre-activated. Talked to HP support and Amazing support. The only solution was to return for a refund and then but a new one. Wish Amazon was more transparent in items that now as “new”. Could be a good deal though, but ended up with a refund instead.
First off, the machine came with Windows 11 pre-installed, but was advertised as Windows 10 with the option to upgrade later. Not a massive deal for me, but could be a pain for those who were looking to stick with Windows 10 for the timebeing.
It comes with some bloatware. McAfee, some HP stuff, Express VPN, and the Omen Gaming HUB. The Gaming HUB software allows for easy customisation of the RGB, clock speeds, voltages, etc. (Although I haven’t really noticed a difference with any of the fan profiles) One other problem with the software is that it never seems to save my lowered voltage settings.
As for the build itself, it seems well put together and the cables are pretty tidy. The case looks great, but at the cost of some airflow. GPU seems to cap out at 73C under 100% load which is great, but the CPU idles at 50C and seems to push up to around 83C under load before the fans kick in, regardless of profile. Undervolting from the default 1.3V to 1.1V seems to be the sweet spot for me. It knocks a good 10C off the temperature and the system remains stable. It’s a slight pain, however, that it reverts to the default upon switching off and on. The CPU fan itself gives an almighty whoosh at those temps, but isn’t as loud as it first seemed, as it seems to get drowned out when my speaker volume is at just 8.
As for performance, it’s handled everything I’ve thrown at it so far. Sticking with 1080p gaming on my 144hz monitor and seeing great results with ultra settings and max ray tracing. Forza Horizon 5 generally sits around the 144fps mark with dips to 100fps in extreme conditions with lots of reflective surfaces. (Puddles, other cars, etc). Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition is showing similar results, but with highs of up to 200fps when underground.
Good system overall, with room to upgrade in the future.
I bought this PC for VR gaming and it does it great with no issues at all. The main fan kicks in every few hours or so depending on usage/program to cool it down which is abit loud, but only lasts a minute or so before it goes back to being nice and quiet and running smoothly. I love this computer and would recommend.
(I know in the overall value of the deal a free 65+ game is small change, but there is the principle of being able to claim it- now claimed after a lot of hassle)
The machine itself is great, I have not had an issue with temps, the highest I have seen for both the CPU and the GPU have been the mid 70c.
Back to the game, the details are still included in the body of the item description. According to HP and Intel, Amazon are an approved merchant for the scheme and should supply a ‘master key’ to enable the claim, but it would appear no one at Amazon is aware of this, I have had chats and phone calls, being escalated to supervisors etc with no joy, my last call today lasted 19 minutes before I was cut off whilst being transferred!
(So Amazon/HP if you are reading this can you please sort out this shambles, then I can give an overall rating that reflects the machine and not the service. Finally sorted by the Intel Support team, I see the game reference has now gone from the Amazon listing)
This is a great package, well at least for the price I paid. Just keep in mind that the case is compact and there really should be more fans in order to keep the RTX3090 cool under high load. I have had temperatures over 100C a number of times running world of tanks (at close to the highest level of detail). So I have now reduced the detail level, but that is not really what I wanted with a graphics card like this.
They also have a big ad claiming you will get a Warhammer III included for free. Well having gone to Intel, HP and Amazon for 2 weeks, they all point to each other, so that is a lie. As you will not get it.
Finally, there is an expansion slot for an additional hard drive with a connector for the motherboard, but there is no spare power calble, so unless you have some kind of external power source it is useless.
The footprint is good and I will be keeping the machine, but I expected much more and I am quite disappointed.
