I am really happy with this keyboard.
First off the weight of it is great, Full aircraft-grade aluminum body really does make the difference and will definitely stop the key board from moving by accident.
It has great support for adjustment with rubber grips.
RGB lights are extremely hypnotic, bright and full of life.
The feel of the key stokes are just perfect, I would say Aqua are just in the middle of brown and Red switches they have a tactical feel to them yet a little more sensitive than brown switches, the Aqua switches add a tactile bump without an audible “click”, and have a slightly firmer feel than the Red switches as well.
I am happy I chose this particular one as I spent hours and hours of reading on which would be the right one for me and I feel I made the right choice it’s great for gaming and typing.
Over all it is:
Very responsive to key strokes.
Beautiful RGB lighting.
Great for gaming and typing.
Heavy and sturdy.
Adjustable legs.
It’s a well-built keyboard, I’ve had it for a month or so I’ve had no problems with it the LEDs are nice and bright and it’s very comfortable to use
Great gaming keyboard with adjustable lighting. Fast, nice feel, compact though not too small. Looks super hard wearing. Not really a multi purpose item though. No UK labels, play hunt the # key (it’s above enter). It is loudly clicky, as loud as any clicky keyboard I’ve ever heard, as opposed to “tactile”. He’ll, let’s just say “it’s very noisy”. Definately worth 4* or 4.5* though for gaming.
The aqua keys are a bit stiffer than i am used to (cherry reds) but it feels good overall. The software isnt great however, especially when trying to save profiles to the onboard memory, so i dont have to run the RGB controller software 24/7. E.g. it saves the colour profile, but not the speed of the colour transitions. A bit annoying but overall it feels well made and i am happy with the purchase.
This is my first mechanical keyboard and I really didn’t know what to expect. WOW, it’s blown me away. Build quality is great, nice and solid with a reassuring weight to it. Keys feel amazing, such a huge step up from my laptops keyboard. The RGB lighting works really well and has some great effects and patterns that can be set up in software.
I bought this based on overwhelmingly positive reviews compared to all other keyboards in this price rance and I can definitely say I am not disappointed. Highly recommended this to anyone looking for a nice mechanical gaming keyboard
Overall Review: With a hefty aluminium chassis, good switches, good sound, and feel, this keyboard should be worth 200. I would recommend it for anyone who wants a tenkeyless RGB keyboard for gaming and typing.
Switches (Aqua) and Stabilisers: More tactile and smooth than MX Browns, still some scratch but it is minimal. Almost no sound from the switches themselves (Which is what I like). The stabilisers are actually pretty good for a pre-built keyboard of this price, the spacebar is not rattly like other similarly priced keyboards and are pretty smooth (Although I still recommend that you lube them). Overall very satisfying to type and game on.
RGB: The LEDs can get very bright and shine well through the switches and keycaps. The software (
INGENUITY) is a bit lacking with only about 8 effects to choose from, however, you can stack effects and customise their colours to get a bit more depth from it.
Keycaps and Layout: The keycaps are a bit on the cheaper side (As to be expected for this price range). They collect oil and dust pretty fast but are easy to clean. They are double shot and have good shine-through for the RGB. The tenkeyless layout is the perfect middle ground between 60% being too small (Loss of easy to access function keys) and a full keyboard being too big for your mouse.
Chassis: I love the aluminium body of this keyboard, it gives it a premium look and feel – it also reflects the RGB shine well. Of course, this means the keyboard is sturdy as well adding to the premium feel.
Sound: The stock sound signature for this keyboard is shockingly good for this price, although the switches and stabilisers are not lubed they are not scratchy or rattly either, this is a major win over similarly priced keyboards that often have obnoxious rattly spacebars.
There is a reason this is so highly rated among YouTubers and other reviewers and you will soon realise that when you use it. The keyboard is much heavier than you think. Superb build quality and for the price is a steal.
I bought the Aqua switches and love the feel of them. It is not the quietest keyboard and that isn’t a bad thing. What I mean is that if you have been using your office keyboard which will have come with your PC, they are quiet but they are also rubbish which is why they cost 10 and this costs more. I hate using my office keyboard now after buying this and I am giving a lot of thought to getting a mechanical keyboard for the office now.
The software you download from HyperX’s website makes configuring the keyboard colour pattern easy. It comes with a nice thick braided detachable USB C to USB A cable. My only gripe, well 2 of them actually, is that it comes with ABS keycaps which are fingerprint magnets. I purchased the HyperX Pudding caps which are made of PBT and they don’t display the fingerprints now. My 2nd gripe is that it is in an ANSI layout meaning the keys are slightly different to the UK ISO layout. Not an issue if you know your keys but just thought I would point that out. You can replace the keycaps with an ISO layout but I haven’t done that yet.
Overall cannot rate this keyboard highly enough and I don’t think you would be disappointed in your purchase.
I probably researched 20 keyboards before settling on this gem. Sturdiness is poor word to describe this beast, it’s super-rigid and the aqua switches are so sweet to use I am so happy I chose this gaming keyboard. If RGB is your thing, then HyperX have it covered with programmable RGB per-key with both brightness and colour settings available with the HyperX utility. The keyboard also has 3-hot swap keys to set your favourite RGB looks. As to the typing experience, the Aqua key switches offer good feedback and a reassuring ‘click’ – impressed
Keyboard is fine. Sturdy and feels very nice to type one.
Their NGenuity app which allows you to customise it requires you to manually uldate your firmware so a bit of googling is required.
Great! Been using for a few months now and it’s nice for typing and light gaming!! The only thing is I don’t like that you can see the colour of the switches as it effects the RGB.
Looks beautiful, all aluminum, keys: soft, comfortable, quiet and fast. RGB colors Looks gorgeous. I like it!
I bought this about a month ago to replace my go membrane keyboard, a long due upgrade, I type a lot and game on the side, I watched a few reviews and knew this was a good board with some minor problems, I got lucky and bought it for 70 on amazon warehouse and it came in the box and was perfect apart from a bit of dust.
About the board
Pros
-> Built like a tank, you could probably kill someone with it
-> the aqua switches are amazing, they are tactile but soo damn smooth
-> I’m not a big rgb guy but damn, it’s impressive, it’s super bright and the floating keycap design is clean
->the Function + f key secondary function are very useful
Cons
-> The stabilisers are very rattly but can be fixed if you put a bit of card between the stab housing and the aluminium plate, my implementation is a bit messy on space bar but you can do better than that.
-> the keycaps are double shot abs and are a fingerprint oil magnet and get slippy after a while, this is that bad and a cheap Aftermarket keycap set would be a great add on
-> the ingenuity software is a Microsoft store exclusive and is fairly basic for such a big pheripherals company,
Overall I would definitely recommend thus board if you are too get keycaps for it and do something with the stabilisers.
Overall 9/10
I dont know what a good or bad mechanical keyboard feels like. So if this is your first step away from membrane this will blow you away. The weight of it coming out of the box was enough to make me happy. Feels so sturdy, and well built. I would say its probobly twice the weight of my previous keyboard and around 3/4 of the size. So thats always a good sign. Switches feel amazing.
I watched a few hundred reviews before i bit the bullet. The reason i went for this keyboard is because it appeared in several peoples top 5, sometimes reaching the number one spot. The aqua switches are “apparantly” amazing, even if you are used to mechanical keyboards, or at least one review lead me to think that. Lights are stunning, even in a fully lit room. The software gives you so many ways of customising to make it your own.
All i can say is if your here reading reviews and you’ve never had mechanical, get this you will not regret it. I’m sure there are better on the market, but at this price point it would be hard to beat.
I don’t even have anything left to say, ive just enjoying typing on this keyboard so much.
Got this keyboard for Christmas but didn’t realise it was a US layout and not the UK one which apparently isn’t available at all. Unfortunately that isn’t something I could live with so regretably returned it and will look for an alternative. That aside, if you’re happy to live with that then it’s a lovely keyboard and the RGB is great on it. Overall I was disappointed with the layout so will drop a star as this is Amazon UK but the keyboard itself is great if you’re happy enough to go with the US layout.
I’ve tried cherry blue’s, cherry brown’s and cherry red’s. I thought why not give the hyperx aqua’s a try, and they feel amazing. They feel a lot more tactile than cherry brown’s, and they feel like they require more force to initially press down, but I love that, it feels great. They’re super smooth and the keys are very sturdy. The whole keyboard build quality is excellent and feels very premium. I have replaced the ABS keycaps with the hyperx pudding black keycaps and I wasn’t sure at first, but I’ve grown to love them. The original ABS keycaps look very clean, however the PBT upgrade is nice. However, the only negative’s I have are that it is in the US layout (so no pound sign key) and there is the useless menu key on the keyboard (although you can rebind all keys with the, easy to use software). Another thing that wouldn’t apply to everyone is the LED’s are amazing, apart from the spacebar, where if you’re considering buying the hyperX pudding keycaps the spacebar looks a bit darker as there is only one LED bulb in the middle (this is however very much to be expected tbh). Overall 10/10 keyboard, feel amazing and look’s clean as hell.
Amazing Keyboard! if you need a new keyboard and aren’t looking to pay 200+ this keyboard is perfect. The software is easy to set up and very user friendly, very customisation for the LEDs. The rigidity of the board is ideal and doesn’t bend under any pressure. You will not get a better keyboard for 100!!
Really nice sounding and responsive keys, good for gaming. The software is a bit sucky but that does not bother me that much. RGB on the keys is nicely configurable and has a range of effects ranging on the scale from the subtle to full on unicorn vomit. For typing text I think I’ll stick to my keyboard with mx blues though. All in all, a good, satisfying, well featured and well built keyboard.
The keyboard is really good, small, no problems really, the only downside I had was using the HyperX app for changing the lighting, it doesn’t seem to have many options but other than that not a single issue, this is more of a nitpick problem though.
Great keyboard, absolutely love it and would recommend it. The TKL size is great and the reliability of a brand like HyperX seriously screams quality. The only design choice I personally less like is the glossy finish of the keys leaving it a bit prone to fingerprints, however, this is such a minor inconvenience that it does not affect the overall quality of this produc
I haven’t purchased this keyboard here as I wanted to make sure I get UK layout, not US and looking at comments that was a good choice.
I use keyboard a lot for both work and gaming and this keyboard is lovely. I have comparison to Das keyboard blue and wanted something a bit quieter but mechanical. I didn’t want to spend over a 100 on a a keyboard too. This works great.
I have been using only cheap 20 keyboards in the past so it’s a big step up for me and was hesitant to spent this much money but god it was so worth it especially that I use for work and play every day.
