In the past when shopping for headsets I’ve struggled to find ones that work well for not only gaming but also movies, music, everything else. But other brands had bass that drowned out all other sounds, and ear piercing treble that attacked my ears whenever a shotgun went off. I think they were trying to enhance audio for competitive gaming but ended up just being awful for everything.
This headset however is perfect. The sound is more true to life, the bass and treble aren’t overpowering but aren’t weak either, it’s just right. the sound is clear and crisp and it’s especially good for music, you can hear all the instruments perfectly. And you can detach the mic turning them into a pair of regular headphones.
The build quality is great and they’re definitely comfortable and fit well. I strongly recommend these, the perfect mid range headset for sure.
Bought for my son at his request.
Much better quality in sound than his last Turtle Beach headset.
Annoyingly it’s so ‘noise cancelling’ he can’t hear me scream up the stairs when dinner is ready.
He’s very happy though.
Guys were brilliant they didn’t have the ones I ordered and sent more expensive ones, my son was all delighted he loves them Ty
Hyper X were very helpful with a minor issue to the order. And the headset is of very good quality. Helpful for people that wear glasses with the comfort of the ear pads.
Purchased for my son. He has tried so many headsets for his gaming. But started having compatibility trouble when using with his Xbox series s. Now he is finally happy again. Says these are very comfortable to wear. Do not hurt his ears like others do. He can hear well and his friends say they can hear him very clearly now as well again. They must be good because he has finally stopped moaning about one issue or another. Which he was still doing when he had much more expensive headsets than these. He’s actually gone through trying at least Six different makes/styles. So finally we have found a good set for him to use again and no more sulky teenager. Happy teen, happy parents!
I have been using this headset on pc for the last year, they have not failed me to date. Cord is braided and durable (also very decent length with extension meaning I’m able to get up and walk around at my desk). Mic is responsive and detachable, pads are very comfy (I wear these 9+ hours a day sometimes without ear or head ache). Sound quality is decent for what you purchase, not for a audiophile but good for the casual music/work/gaming combo. Overall quality of the headset is great with the feeling of durability. You get some noise dampening due to the thickness of the pads however there are some hole on top of the earcup housing to help with the flow of air like a subwoofer has.
If I could ask for something better? If noise cancellation was a feature and the possibility of Bluetooth on these would be great but I’m sure you have to pay the extra for the MIX headset.
I would recommend this headset to anyone thinking that this is a little bit out of there budget, I will be using this for years to come (you can replace most parts except the speakers) and when it does eventually break will be purchasing another HyperX product.
I like the sound quality clarity and fit of hyperx headsets so thought I’d get the next gen and love them more than the last for the price they’re a solid purchase!!
Headsets are great, totally recommend them. Just the delivery took longer then I anticipated, but I suppose it was because we’ve ordered them just before Christmas.
I personally didn’t find bass a problem with this headset. Especially after using a piece of software called Equaliser APO and PEACE (Both free to download online!)
The bass after a bit of tweaking is fantastic. The overall sound quality of this headset is great, the comfortability beats the HyperX Cloud Core’s by a long shot. They have a sort of open backed sound profile so they let in a bit more outside noise than the Cloud Core’s, however being a previous Sennheiser user i don’t find this a problem.
Overall a very attractive looking headset that packs a fantastic punch. Would highly recommend these to anyone.
From gaming perspective it’s great. Sound quality is always great, it is very easy to tell the direction that sound comes from, and it comfortably supports 12+ hour long gaming sessions without causing any discomfort.
From music listening perspective it has a lot of room for improvement. I had to play with audio tuning settings for good 30 minutes before I could listen to music decently. Just a heads up to those who are planning to use this headset to listen to music : default audio settings are just horrible and it needs to be worked on before you can enjoy good quality of sounds, especially with more bass oriented tracks.
I love it. Good product go check reviews on YT they would tell you more exactly like it is.
So I’ve only had this headset for a few days (fitting since it’s barely been out for a week) but already I have some great things to say about it.
First I’ll start by saying I had the original HyperX Cloud headset and at the time it was amazing (they’re still great if you’re on more of a budget than this) but this headset betters it in every way.
The build quality it amazing, there are headsets twice this price or more that feel much cheaper due to the horrible plastics they use. None of that garbage here, only aluminium, leather and soft touch rubber. It feels very durable.
The sound quality is excellent for a gaming headset. It won’t beat my Bowers & Wilkins P7 Wireless but for this price point and considering gaming is it’s true purpose, they sound quite decent when listening to music.
And now one of my favorite things about this headset, the cable is now fully detachable and replaceable, excellent for pet owners like myself. The only minor niggle here is that there are still wires exposed between the ear cups and headband so I would still keep them out of reach of pets but the main concern has always been the audio cable itself.
I haven’t had the chance to test the microphone yet, I will report back once I have. However, the original Cloud headset had a decent mic and I expect this to be better.
All in all, this is just about the perfect headset for an agreeable price, forget the Astros, Razers and Logitechs, go for this.
The first HyperX Cloud Alpha I recieved was muddy (for 99), it was faulty and I replaced it on the same day, and I got one that sounds better! After a few weeks of testing, I’ve come to the conclusion this headphone is amazing!.
I connected it to my Havic Bluetooth r/t adapter with windows sound spatial sonic enabled and now it sounds too good to be true.
HyperX Cloud Alpha is better than my following headphones (in order of fidelity): Plantronics 500E (H5), Sennheiser HD 579, Bose QC25, AKG C50BT, Plantronics 500E (K5), TDK ST-550, AKG K420, Sony V700, Plantronics 780, Plantronics RIG 500HD, Sony XD300. Sennheiser HD201, Sony V300, Sony XB450, Sony V150, Asus Cerberus.
Bought them for my husband and he is delighed with the quality and the sound and lovely design they look very expensive i will definitely be buying them for my son’s.
What can I say about these headsets well they are quality in sound, build quality and comfort.
Playing evil within 2 is a scary experience alone but playing with these headsets made it even more tense. The explosions and headshots made it an immensive experience. You can hear the head actually being blowoff as if you were there.
