Just like all other versions of this set it works and sounds great but white noise is noticeable when nothing plays. These are wireless tho so just don’t waste your battery having them on without anything playing ha
I know the headline sounds bad, but it isn’t. I’ve had these babies for two years now and they’re still hanging on, they’re a little scruffy and the ear pieces started crumbling after a while but they still work and that’s all that matters. I can put trash outside and my Discord chat can still hear me, though I would say, if I were to be on the market again for headsets, I’d go for the Cloud Flight II, I had an old wired version of them and they were much more comfortable, the ear pieces on this one always feel a little off. Oh and to explain the title – when they’re like battery, they do the three chords at the very beginning of ‘Highway to Hell’ by ACDC.
honestly, i wasnt expecting much out of the headset, but in fairness they are superb, the audio quality is awesome, the mic on this isnt that impressive, but it gets the job done, the only huge flaw to this headset, if the headset decides there’s no sound coming trough ( even when there is ) the “feature ” of auto turning off to preserve the battry will turn the headset off, you could be gaming, in a discord room, streaming, pritty much doing anything, and the feature is a 50 / 50 of it it decides the sound coming trough is considered not sound and turns the headset off….its a pain, if only the ngenuity software had a way to disable this specific feature, the headset would be perfec
So, lets start from the beggining.
HyperX Cloud II (WIRED)
We used it for 5 years.
we get it in a beauty quality box.
With extra ear pads. 1pair leather, and 1 pair plush.
7.1 option and Stereo sound was awsome. Once one of the usb controller (square one) accidently was broke (i dont want to write the details of it), we replaced it (round one). that controller part.
Sadly it wasnt the same anymore.
The replaced wire 7.1 function was strange, when you turned on or off first the voice was muted then turned on and off the 7.1
So if you can try to keep the original controller wire for it.
Reason for changed reduce the cables, and my Mrs used her orwn after hair wash with towel on her head, and the leather give up the fight (you can see on the picture).
so… times change…
(we tried another brand but it wasnt the same confort and same CLEAR voice like what we had with HyperX)
HyperX Cloud II (WIFI)
Same confort as before with the wired one.
first time it was strange i had to download from ms store the “app” for it. but 7.1 and the main things i can controll from that app, plus what is on the headset ofc. No and connection issues, no any box/canned sound. That was realy anoying with another brands.
HyperX Cloud Flight
This one is a littlebit different from a regular HyperX.
Hard plastic Base, with confortable pads. If you used the Cloud II before the this feeling will be stange at the first time but basically its give the same confort.
What is VERY ANOYING about the software for this one.
Cant work with the same ms app like the Cloud II, no.. you must to google out and find the software for it.
When you find the software then its work like a dream.
No option for 7.1 on this product. Still the best quality of gaming/movie etc sound.
You can change the pads anytime if you want because use the same.
Am i HyperX fan?
After my experiences… Yes. i am.
I brought this headset on a whim.. it was priced at 34.08 and was classed as very good condition from Amazon warehouse, So I thought well as long as it looks somewhat ok and works what’s it matter. However when it arrived it came immaculate. Original packaging with no damage, then I opened and inspected it and it was as new! Perfect condition. I may have fell lucky but it said in the description could have scratch upto 1″ but I am yet to see or find it. The headset is perfect. Very happy with this purchase as this would of cost like 100 new. Great bargain. I would urge others to see if there is a very good condition one available from the warehouse before purchasing for full price. I for one now will look at other electronic items to see if there are any In the warehouse after this find!
10/10
Worked flawlessly for 2 years, barely used them in fact. Now one earpiece doesnt work while on wireless, support has no intention of helping at all, not even when I intend to repair it myself so I wont end up with halfworthless item – customer service 1/10. Volume control is superloose and due to that often inacurate. For that price, microphone could be a bit better. Great drivers, strong deep bass.
Due to poor customer service I wont buy any of HyperX items.
This headset is almost perfect for gaming – the microphone is clear, the sound is good for gaming, battery lasts a long time, it’s comfortable, & light so can be worn for hours. There is a very annoying design flaw with the volume control though – it’s a wheel located on the bottom of the right earcup, and by moving my head left or right it often results in the volume being increased or decreased depending on which direction I look.
I really wanted a wireless headset and I had read some reviews on this and did my research on this headset and others but eventually bought this one it arrived quickly if I remember correctly and it is very easy to connect and charge. The only thing I don’t like about it is it doesn’t connect to the Hyper-X software which I was very disappointed about. But it has a good battery life and is comfortable to wear I wear this headset for 10+ hours daily and I have so far not had a problem with it! Very good sound and quality and for everyday use just hope Hyper-X can make this compatible with their software if so I would give this a 5 Star Rating but for now, it is a 4.
Had this headset for a long while now, and I am only just getting through to the review. This headset has lasted me way longer than any other I have ever owned, and it has remained at the same quality as when I purchased it. Maybe the only downside is that the battery life seems to be a little shorter than it was out of the box. Of course, this is somewhat to be expected given that I leave them on charge overnight, so it’s not really something I can complain about. It could also be a placebo or me forgetting what it was like when I first got them. Sound quality is… pretty good! It can be improved using third party software as most headsets can be, but it works perfectly well out of the box. Anyway, I would definitely recommend HyperX headsets to other people, especially this one.
I purchased this headset because, like many of us these days, I find myself spending ridiculous amount of time on web calls. I had the wired version of this headset, which is great – but I have so many calls now that I can’t even find the time to make myself a drink. Well guess what Beth? Now I can make my coffee *whilst* on the call with you because you JUST CAN’T GIVE ME 10 MINUTES TO MYSELF!!!
Ahhem… sorry about that.
Anyway, this headset reaches virtually all rooms in my house, including upstairs. Sound quality is great, no lag, and the battery lasts me 2 days between charges. Fortunately, I can still use it while charging. It feels solid, with good build quality.
Good purchase overall!
Everything is great about the HyperX wireless headset but only problem i’ve found is I get white noise happening quite often and its not loud but not quiet.
Dont know if its from my end or the headset but either way its a great headset overall
It’s always good to know what headset someone is changing from rather than just a review saying how great it is. I had the Hyper x cloud 2 which has served me well over the past few years but wanted to upgrade to a wireless headset. Bought the Turtle Atlas Elite, it was dreadful, sent back and got this Hyper X cloud flight, love it to bits. It’s light on head, sound is clear and I’m told the mic is clear as well. It’s quick to turn on, so those online meetings are quickly joined. Simple mute button, just plug and play. Turn the lights off for longer battery. The Hxper Flight S which is 1 up has a few more features but I’m super happy with this.
Bought this on offer for 95. Which at that price it comfortably beats other wireless options from my limited experience.
Pros:
Good build quality
Comfortable ear pads
Good sound quality
Wireless function works well and has a good range
Cons:
Battery seems to run dead a lot faster than the software suggests on your PC. Lasts ages with the green symbol (high battery), but the second it turns orange it almost immediately drops to red and needs charging. Misleading battery status. And the battery in general is ok but not the best.
Mic is quite poor at the price point. Good enough for chatting with friends but if you want higher quality for recordings, streaming, or other creative content, it won’t hit the standard. Which is not uncommon for headsets but at this price there are better headset mics on much cheaper options.
Overall it really works well for me. But I didn’t need a quality mic so I was able to put up with the lacking quality there.
If the headset wasn’t on offer for 95 and was instead 110-120 I might have avoided. It’s still a great headset at that price, but the price point isn’t that competitive.
These headphones are amazingly comfortable and i am an avid glasses wearer, no discomfort after long uses at all however after a long time of use every day the fabric on the earpads will eventually (Like most other companies) start to get brittle and peel off the fake leather, to fix this i ordered replacements from Brainwavez: Angled Memory Foam Earpad in Hybrid Black.
Audio quality is very nice for stereo users when plugged in however I always use them wirelessly and with spatial audio (DTS Headphone X) using the profile for HyperX cloud alpha as it is the closest, using in games I hear things most others don’t and on spotify premium hear more sound stage than other headsets i use.
The distance of wireless connectivity depends on the walls separating you, it is seamless in my room and fake wall partition and fine walking away to the kitchen but i know in my previous home the signal was blocked partially when walking to another floor overall much better than most other brands.
If you feel like your leatherette headband is wearing you can also get replacement parts but be more careful replacing those as there are two clips either side of the headset in the band that will have to pop out, i have no problem with it yet but i do take in mind longevity with all my headsets this being my favourite i will find a replacement part that is not made of fake leather as any skin contact over time causes exceptional wear currently looking at the entire zip on headbands that cover the whole piece but if i find a native part i will buy that.
Overall very very nice headset, love being able to wear it all day sometimes with no dropout and no charge needed, it is perfectly light and keeps my head feeling comfortable with no abnormal pressure from the headband forced on me even when wearing glasses. No faults at all other than premium brands offering not very long lasting headband and earcup cushions out of the box. Would recommend to anyone or perhaps the newer S model although if you are wirelessly charging you are not going to be using it anyway and i can if i have a long wire inserted while i game and the virtual 7.1 is a gimmick and i use spatial audio which is much better in comparison!
I have a very large head and these fit quite comfortably. I have used these headphones all week, around 6 hours at a time and there is no discomfort at all. the wireless range is perfect, I can walk all through my house, shut doors and even go outside in the garden and not lose any quality in audio. The headphones also fold in so they rest comfortably on your collarbone rather than choking your neck when not in use. There is also no delay in the audio and the sound quality is very high but not mind melting as some can be, balanced very well and the bass is clean. There is no VSS on this headset but I wouldn’t use it anyway, the stero is very good. The microphone is good (and detachable) but the noise cancellation that is built in the reduce background noise can sometimes mute you if you don’t speak up. If you want this mic to work for you, you had better annunciate your words. If you are able to speak clearly then this mic will provide a good sound, obviously nothing compares to a stand alone microphone but for your average gamer who just wants to chat on discord this is perfect. It holds charge all day easily, but I always charge it overnight. It’s not cut out on me yet. The volume control on the right of the headset works well but it quite sensitive, moves in intivals of 2 but you only have to tap it, it will often shoot up by 4 with a slight roll, it’s only minor but I would have liked that to be a bit tighter with it’s response. The hyper x logos also light up without being obnoxiously bright, not that you can see it while wearing them.
Bit anxious to spend the money on a headset but I wasn’t disappointed.
– The sound quality is very good.
– Some say that the headphones are tight but no more than other headsets I have used.
– The charging lasts – warcraft sessions of 5+ hours a couple of times a week between charges at least. It’s only run out once and that’s because I think I left it on 😛
– The mic lead can be tricky to put in but just takes a little fiddling, you’ll get the hang of i
I can’t say these are the best wireless headphones as it is the first ones I have ever had but the other reviews are quite good as well. Overall its a good headset, the voice sound is good and the sound is quite loud and clear. The only cons is that the battery doesn’t last very long which is quiet annoying at times but all the other features fall in compensation for that. It makes a noise when the battery is low but its pretty much the same as when you press the mic mute and sometimes its confusing, so if it was to improve those are the 2 things i would improve. Thanks hyper x!
These are supposed to be gaming headsets yes, but I like to use them for listening to music too. I was looking for a headset for pc that doesn’t use bluetooth. All the other wireless headsets seem to be for phones and use bluetooth so my pc can not use them. So i bought these. They are great for everything, sound quality, battery life. The one problem is if i go too far they break up as the signal is not strong enough to travel downstairs from upstairs. That is the main problem hindering this headset which is a shame.
Amazing gaming headset but with all gaming headsets it has it’s drawbacks. The sound quality is amazing but coming from a worse headset it will take a little time to get use to. The only problem i really have with it is that the plug in microphone is terrible, my friends say that it sounds horrible on discord, it sounds very compressed but that is to be expected with wireless gaming headphones. If you’re a PC gamer and want a really good gaming headset and plan on buying a stand alone microphone then i would say go right ahead because it’s amazing and that’s what i did, i ended up buying a blue yeti nano USB mic and it sounds much better than the one that comes with the headset. You can charge the headset and still use it at the same time which is really good, when the battery gets to 20% the headset will make a noise telling you that the battery is low and it usually lasts me around 12 hours straight without the LEDs on. In conclusion buy the headset if you plan on getting a standalone microphone if you plan to talk to friends ever day.
Russell and I both have giant ears, and they start to feel sore after 5+ hours of wearing these headphones. Not a problem for me, as I usually don’t go more than 3 hours wearing these at a time. In fairness, most headphones start to feel sore after 5+hours anyway, so if I need to go more than 5 hours, I’ll wear in-ear earphones instead of headphones.
Also, the microphone quality is nothing special. Again, I don’t care, I use an external microphone anyway.
If you have dainty ears, and are after long lasting, crisp sounding, clear, loud, and easy to use headphones, you could do a lot worse than these. Overall, would recommend.
These headphones are great! I was a little scepticle as I have not use wireless headphones before. I was a bit worried about the battery life. I.e “how long would they last”. I can use these for 3-4 hours a day Monday to Thursday and they are on about 60-75%
I charge them up on Thursday night and use them all weekend sometimes 10 hours plus a session. At the end of this weekend they are at about 30% which is roughly 21 hours of gaming. (Just to note this is with the lights on the ears off) as personally I see no point having them flashing whilst in the house.
Additionally the wireless range on these is great I can use them all around the house.
The noise canceling is really nice as well. When you have some game audio on you can barely hear anything.
In conclusion these are a massive upgrade from my original Hyper cloud 2’s and now I am not tied down to the desk I can walk around and listen to music, talk to friends , etc,
The hyper X software I will admit is a little basic you cannot customize the colour etc on the ears but it tells you what you need to know which is perfectly good enough.
I.e.battery life, if you are muted , if you had deafend your self.
Really happy with this buy!!!!
A Great buy for my gaming sessions.
My only minor complaint is that it’s fairly easy to turn the volume up or down accidently using the wheel under the right ear piece. Battery life is good, sounds quality is excellent, and microphone quality is good also. I should also mention I’m using it on PC and mostly for gaming and talking on Discord. Would thoroughly reccomend this or, if bluetooth isn’t a must for you, I previously used the HyperX Cloud II for 3 years with no issues until the usb failed.
I had this pair for around two weeks.
Exterior
The top under fabric part that rests on your hair feels solid and uncomfortable. OK design but gives the impression of cheap plastic.
Performance
This headset does a better job at noise cancelling but you still hear about 20% of noise around you. Not very tight. The mic sounds scuffed and not very clear. Where the sound quality is better and clearer than most mid range gaming headsets I tried so far, and I tried a few. I found funny the software, having only 3 features (charging level, mic and headset). Another imperfection I noticed was that when you charge them, the bar on the software never shows full but charges forever, so you have to unplug to see the percentage. Also, another thing to keep in mind about this gaming headset is that they switch off themselves after approximatively 5min of idle/stand by. That is a good thing for saving battery but not for when charging as you have to be around them to make sure they don’t go on idle and stop charging.
Overall
They seem like a decent pair but overpriced with a well balanced pros and cons.
The headset is on of the most comfortable gaming headset that i have ever had, it is built great with no imperfections on it and it was packaged perfectly. The sound quality is great for anything really but it most shines when you are playing games or listening to music. The best thing however about the headset is that the battery life it is amazing i had the headset on for about 10 hours in the space of one day and the battery was on 75% and that is the main selling point in my opinion on the headset. if you are looking for a gaming headset that is wireless i would defiantly recommend that you pick up this headset especially if it is on sale then it is a bargain.
I’ve had many gaming headset over the years from cheap to fairly expensive. Having gone through a stage of buying cheaper headsets because of expensive ones breaking quickly.. And being tied to this CABLE.. I thought IT’S TIME FOR WIRELESS! Getting the wire snagged on something, not being able to move freely, having limited range, wire connections points deteriorating with constant use then the connection failing.. WERE THINGS I’VE HAD ENOUGH OF!
So i looked around, researched a few things and took a punt of the HyperX Cloud Wireless headset. And oh my! HAPPY DAYS!
First thing they fit great, clamped but for me ( I have a large head) .. perfectly clamped, no excessive pressure and sitting nicely on the skull. Used them already for a 10 hours game session.. amazing. Very minor fatigue on my ears and head, nothing that taking the headset off for 10min didn’t fix.
Now the second most important thing in my book, The connection and sound quality… Here it excels too.. I tried bluetooth headset but on PC the connection has always been dodgy, they cut out and you get audio desyncs. These connect and you have a strong connection with no drops at all, the range is so much better too.. works pretty much all around my small house.. more than enough for me. The sound quality obviously not going to be the greatest compared to very expensive wired headphones but for wireless i must say i’m impressed, overall the sound quality is very nice, everything sounds as it should be without being to excessive, this includes the volume level too. It reaches a decent loudness but they aren’t extremely loud.. something i would have liked for music.
Which brings me to the battery life.. It’s best feature!… With the red LED logo off the battery life is simply amazing..stated 30hrs at 50% volume.. I’ve experienced easily two days gaming PC and PS4, watching films and listening to music.. and it still had plenty of charge.. It charges fairly quickly too so battery life is never really a problem (and with that great battery life would have been nice to have a little more volume).. The mic obviously isn’t the greatest being gaming and wireless.. but for what it is.. people have said they hear me loud and clear.. Probably it’s weakest feature but it’s adequate enough. The software is simple and effective, easily see battery status, only niggle would be nice to see the % will charging which is doesn’t do. I used it with the wire connected to my PS4 controller and it works great with my console, works with smartphone too but only wired mode.
So my overall impression after a week of hardcore usage. Out-bloody-standing! They are a joy to use i absolutely love them. Going wireless was the right move, the freedom of movement is extremely satisfying! These are exactly what i wanted and more. If you want a wireless gaming headset i would definitely put this in your contenders list.. Some of it’s features are first class.
If anything does go wrong i will be back to amend my review… If not … They’re good.
I will be now getting the HyperX QuadCast standalone desktop microphone too as that has also had glowing reviews… And that will solve the microphone quality issue most gaming headset have.
I am a gamer through and through, and have had several headsets ranging from cheaper chinese specials to quite high end headphones from Sennheiser and the like.
I replaced a HyperX Cloud Alpha with these Cloud Flights and honestly the sound quality is very similar, if not perhaps a tad better on these (this may be a difference in USB v 3.5mm jack though).
They are very comfortable, of course as with any headset the first few hours they will be a little tighter but they soon settle into a more natural position which is perfectly comfortable for many hours (i’ve used them for 12 hours continuously).
I was a bit concerned when I read some reviews about ears touching inside but I haven’t experienced this , and I would deem myself as “normal” ….. maybe the other people just have big ears… 🙂
Battery life is excellent, I’ve had a genuine 30 hours out of them , I have the HyperX logo turned off as I’m not a streamer so don’t care for lights I can’t see 🙂
The mic is a good quality, perfectly fine for normal discord / skype use. Probably not ideal if you are doing a professional type of production (EG podcast or top level streaming) but then you shouldn’t be looking at a headset if you expect that!!
The range is good, I can easily go downstairs and into my garden before the signal starts to cut out, when it does cut out, and you come back into range, it’s reconnected without needing to turn anything off and on again.
No complaints, 5 stars for me!!!
The sound quality is stunning, battery life can be a little weak (comparable to the official Sony headset) but at least you’ll get an audible warning long before they inevitably run out of charge. You can still charge the headset via the USB cable while continuing to use it. There’s an audio cable pass through so that you can simply plug into anything with a headphone jack should Bluetooth not be an option for you. Incredibly well built compared to the awful quality of the official Sony headsets.
Cons:
The microphone can be a little fiddly to fit in place.
The volume wheel is in a really clumsy place and you *WILL* knock it when you move your head and are wearing anything with a collar.
Requires the included USB dongle. Which is also to be expected on PS4 etc. Just don’t misplace it.
For my use purposes (primarily just for gaming at nights or watching movies) they’re absolutely perfect.
Really good sound quality and comfort I would say the exact same as the HyperX Cloud IIs or better. Battery life is enough to go a good couple of days (2-5) without charging. Microphone quality isn’t that great according to people I have spoken to while using it, although it sounds really okay in my recording software. Overall, worth the purchase, if you really want a comfortable wireless headset, otherwise go for a wired one because they are half the price.
Edit: After 2+ years of ownership and pretty much daily use, I can say these are excellent and well worth the price if you take care of them. I’ve had a couple of issues, being my fault, yet the headset has remained strong and almost seems to repair itself.
Firstly, I stupidly used them while in the bath and they got very wet, they stopped working completely for a few days, but magically started to work again, although only while being charged. A few days of that and then they were completely back to normal. I believe the quality at longer ranges has gone down now though because it cuts out a lot more than it used to, but then again this is only when I use it downstairs while it’s connected upstairs.
Secondly, there was one morning I woke up to find one of the ear cups completely detached from the headband and only connected by a few wires. I was concerned it was broken but to my surprise, I just pushed the ear cup back in the hole with the wires and it continued to function like normal.
Overall, I am very impressed by the durability, sound quality and comfort of this headset. The range is also very surprising albeit inconsistent. It’s connected to my PC upstairs yet it works in most rooms downstairs and even in the garden although it worked very well the first year or so, it now cuts out a lot. If mine ever breaks I will likely purchase the exact same one again.
So why only 4 stars? Well definitely from the point of sound, build and quality this product has 5 stars. But from my experience in the technology, around 10 years of building custom computers, the price is the only drawback of this headset.
Indeed the headphones are working very well, but they have basic functions, which make their price range, in my opinion, under a 100 mark. Kingston was always known for good products over a balanced price. A simple example is that you can get for the same price the G933, which gives you 7.1 surround sound, combo buttons and extended functionality and very good battery life.
So the conclusion is: If you want something simple, like plug and play and no complications, yes this is the correct product, but if you like something more advanced regarding their price , there are better options for the same price.
I’ve had these for 3 months and they are fantastic.
With many headsets I get discomfort on my ears and jaw due to hard and small cup size and very tight clamp force.
With the cloud flight the cushioning on the headband and earcups are very comfortable. The oval ear cushion design is great as none of the ear cup touches my ear which in other headsets causes discomfort after long use. Additionally, the clamp force is just right as for the first time I can wear a headset for hours on end and have no discomfort.
Hyper x has done an extremely good job with this product. The 30 hour battery life is no gimmick and they are true to their word! I love how you can detatch the mic so it doesn’t get in your way. There is a volume wheel on one side and a mute button which are very convinient. Being able to plug this in with the included aux lead is very useful if you want to listen to music. I also like earcups swivel to rest on your chest . The red lighting looks sweet and completes the look for me.
When it comes to the downsides to the headset there aren’t really many at all. However, I guess the microphone quality could be improved slightly and it’s competitors have slightly better mic quality. Comparing it to other headsets it’s slightly quieter (this is probably due to it being wireless).
Overall this headset is expensive but I think it’s worth the money. The build and sound quality is phenomenal and hyper x have managed to perfect the build of this headset to ensure comfort all round with a sleek design which is not too bulky. My recommendation is that It would be so awesome if you could connect this to more than one device!
Upgraded from TB Stealth 450. Those were making my eyelid twitch from prolonged usage. They also slightly lagged even with all audio enhancements off. Fine for videos, not fine for playing guitar or rocksmith. So I sold them on ebay and bought the Hyper X Cloud Flight headset.
There is no lag with these. You can play guitar using them with no lag, however they are a little quiet. The leather ear cups get a little sweaty if it’s warm, I would have preferred cloth caps like the TB Stealth 450s. The battery only really lasts a day or two with prolonged usage, but they are fast to charge. I’m also happy to report no eyelid twitching… so far!
I must admit I was a little bit hesitant in buying this headset after seeing the low ratings on this site. I’m glad that I did some further research to find out about the product as I think the headset is great. There are SO many options around this price range but I’ve been using the headset for about 3 weeks now and have some observations:
Comfort
Despite what some of the reviews say on here, this headset is very comfortable to wear for long periods of time. I wear glasses and don’t feel any discomfort and the headset is quite light considering it’s wireless. The top band provides a good amount of padding and the ear cups fit nice and snug. Your ears can get sweaty sometimes but I think this is the same for all headsets with this type of material. The ear cups can also be twisted so is very comfortable if you need to take your headset off.
Sound Quality
The sound of the headset is very clear and is especially good for competitive gaming. I find it easy to hear where enemies are located and shooting from in games like PUGB which I didn’t have with my previous Steel Series headset. The bass on the headphones is punchy but not too overbearing and is perfect for listening to music around the house. There is a volume control on the side of the headphones which allows for precise volume changes. The only issue I’ve had with this is sometimes if I am taking the headphones off or adjusting them, I do occasionally change the volume.
Range & Setup
The range on the headset is also impressive, I can walk down a flight of stairs and almost out into the garden before I start experiencing connection issues. The setup was very simple. Just plugged the USB dongle into my PC and it automatically picked and set the headset as the default device.
Battery Life
I’ve not done a specific test to see how many hours I get out of a full charge, but I normally wear them with the ear cup LED enabled (this can be changed from ON, to breathing, to off by pressing the power button). I use the headset for 2-3 hours a day and have to change it maybe once a week.
Microphone
The microphone is the only thing I’m a bit disappointed with as it took some adjusting to get right. I find if you have the microphone not even that close to your mouth, it picks up a lot of breathing so I have to move it quite far away from my face which means if I’m talking quietly I can’t always be heard. I think the additional of a pop filter over the microphone would improve this.
Summary
All in all I think the headset is a really good bit of kit. I can’t explain how nice it is to go from constantly getting tangled in headphone wires to simply being able to move around at your desk without any issues. The build quality of the headset is of a high stand and is generally an all round headset. I would like to see some improvement to the microphone and also the introduction of some software where you can control the audio and microphone settings. There is also no way to see how much charge is left on the headset, it will just start to beep when it gets low but there is no way to tell specifically how much charge is left.
I honestly can say these are the best gaming headset I have ever owned. I owned the Cloud II for the past 2 years and honestly they could have kept going, but the convenience of wireless with the hyperx sound is really amazing. I am not an audiophile, but my music sounds amazing through the headset and i have the dolby atmos pluggin, and have been listening to the REM album remastered in Dolby Headphones and it sounds fantastic.
Games like Overwatch, Smite and Spellforce (those I have tested) sound fantastic. As I have mentioned I am no expert, but they sound really good to me.
The headset is really light less than 300g they are even more comfortable than my Cloud II’s and as a glasses wearer I was concerned they would dig in to my ears and side of my head, but happy to say the padding is deaper and softer so that is not an issue.
