I am glad that I bought this rather than hiring something. Rotivating takes longer than you think – to do it well. This is powerful and chews up the soil. But bear in mind you need strength to use it well! Not for people lacking in upper body strength!!!!
well built tiller works well even on hard ground just start at shallowest then go deeper on next pass use shallow depth for cultivating or go deep to turn over more soil
no problem on allotment with some clay in it now looks very good starts well fairly easy to assemble
it is bit heavy but that helps on hard ground to stop too much bouncing about and the width helps to do plot quicker not so many runs all in all very good machine with 3 year warranty good price too
Having to speed up things I am doing in the garden I got a powered rotovator as I am renovating a neglected garden the time I am spending digging over a neglected vegetable. patch has been slashed to minutes. Next season I will be able expand the vegetable plot to take in all the ground previously used as such. So a great time saver.
P.S The engine is bigger than the first three motorcycle’s owned in the pas
Really does the job, remember to take it slow and use the depth guide.
Not the easiest instructions to follow to set up the rotovator. I couldn’t fit the carrying handle as the nuts had been really tightened up too much. But great when I got it going. The retractable wheel is good and the machine made light work of my vegetable patch.
Easy to assemble. Very efficient. Has made my life so much easier. Tank of fuel lasts about one hour.
I bought this a couple of months ago to prepare the beds on two allotments and it has made what was previously a back-breaking task an absolute joy.
It arrived well-packaged and assembly was fairly simple. It appears well-made and, after several hours of use the tines are still in great condition. This rotavator has the weight to get a decent purchase on the soil, unlike a cheaper 2-stroke machine we’d used before, which tended to bounce around on the surface more. It pulls itself along nicely, and is easy to control.
The majority of the use so far has been in turning over soil that had been planted last year, but I’ve also used it to break up the harder-packed soil on walkways between the beds and, although I had to go over those a couple of times, the result has been excellent.
Works well on light soil. it did struggle to dig into the hard unturned ground of the allotment but it did get there, much easier than using a spade and gives a good ready to plant plot.
Great machine, works well, does what it says on the tin.
