brilliant little machine, great price, makes loads of ice in no time, I put them in a bag and freeze them for later as this machine is not a freezer and as stated they will melt in time if left in the basket, but then it will recycle the water and make some more ice, great idea. easy to drain water when finished, small plug in the bottom, not sure how long that will last if you keep emptying it, but you need to when finished so you don’t get mould.
Would recommend
I like the fact you just leave it to do its job machine lets you know when to empty ice and when to fill with water, makes 28lbs of ice a day in total with 9 cubes at a time. Very satisfied customer.
The machine is not too noisy, makes medium size cubes. I make the ice when I’m cleaning my kitchen. I make 4 batches at a time. Then transfer them to my freezer. I would recommend this.
I bought this ice maker because my wife is using a cryo cuff machine after surgery. This ice maker is good value and works well but one of the major challenges for me is that the ice it makes is only chilled by itself which is fine in the winter when the room its in isn’t hot and if you leave the ice in the basket for too long then it will melt.
Also because the basket that the ice collects in isn’t huge, it means that the ice maker will stop around every 60 minutes until you empty the basket. From limited testing, I found that it produces around 500 grams of ice every hour so it will only produce ice 24 hours a day if you empty it every hour! If you do empty the basket every hour then the ice is wet and when you put it into the freezer, it will stick together in a giant lump which isn’t too hard to break up but still a consideration.
The final thing I would say is that there is no way to turn the machine off completely other than unplugging it. While it’s plugged in but not turned on, there’s a fairly bright blue light on the front that flashes constantly – again, not really an issue for me but worth knowing before you buy.
I bought it last minute for NYE. It does what it says : ice every 7 minutes. It keeps going. Just remove the ice once done and add water once it runs out. Love i
