This is a nice helmet. Some mention it’s heavy but it’s not. However, it could use a few more air vents.
The lighting system is very good, but as some mention it would be nice to have separate buttons for front and back lights. The goggles could use color changes. I really liked this helmet, it just didn’t fit my head comfortablely.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI love the look and comfort of this helmet. I also love using the visor, it keeps the wind and sun out of my eyes. I’ve only had this helmet for two weeks and already there are numerous visible scratches on the helmet. My other helmet is a Nutcase helmet and the enamel on the helmet is harder and more durable than the ILM helmet.
Never the less, I’m confident this helmet would protect your head in case of a bicycle crash, but I don’t think the paint job would sustain the impact. But, what’s more important?
I still recommend buying this ILM helmet. Take special care when storing the helmet.

Numerous scratches already visible, but very cool helmet.

These things are nice but really don’t offer much protection if you were in an accident, due to the material it’s made of. Put it lights up nicely for night riding or at dusk and I like it.

I bought this to replace a seven-year-old helmet that had served me well. The thing that drew me to the ILM helmet was the visor. As with all products, there are both pros and cons. I’ll address the cons first.

The lights are less useful than I had hoped. While they function well and do provide an additional source of light for all those distracted drivers out there, I do not find that they are very bright. The major caveat is that I do 99.5% of my riding during the day so YMMV here. The second con is the helmet is significantly heavier than my previous one. If you are not ready for the additional weight, it could be a factor. It really doesn’t bother me that much but the longest ride I’ve had with it is about two hours. By far, the biggest con is the ventilation. This one will be MUCH hotter than my previous helmet. I’m sure there are safety benefits that come with fewer holes, but it could be a shoulder season helmet as temps here in East Texas may not allow use during hot weather riding.

The pros outweigh the cons. The visor is everything that I had hoped it would be. It makes a nice additional sunshade, can keep the occasional raindrop off my face, and provides for protection against a brisk breeze. Sure, the occasional gnat can get caught in the space between the visor and my eyes but it’s a small price to pay. The fit is substantially more robust than my previous helmet. It fits more like a motorcycle helmet than other bicycle helmets I have worn. I am sure it will provide more protection in case I ever really need it (knock on wood). And although I listed the lights as a con, I’ll also put them here as well. That additional light source could make the difference someday. The sizing was also good. I have a bid noodle and this helmet fits fine (after a little break-in).

Overall, I’d buy it again. I’m not sure how I will handle the ventilation issue come hot-weather riding season but nothing else can be considered a deal breaker for this product.

My son received the helmet for his birthday. First, it has a cool sleek design; second, it’s light weight, and, just as important, I purchased the X-large, but he was pleased to discover that the helmet allowed for additional adjustment to assure his comfort.

This was exactly the right size as per their chart. Fit was very good and comfortable. Lights are bright and very visible. The USB charging is convenient abs stun shield keeps both Sun and debris out of my face. Very happy with this purchase.

Tried on at least a dozen helmets and all were too small. Yes, I have a BIG Head. Not only is the helmet so comfortable, but it also fits right and is super cool. Love the features and feel of this helmet.

5 stars!!..It fits my big fat head well. I ordered a clear visor for it for night time riding as the tinted one it came with is better for daytime. This is by far the best helmet i have tried. I can’t believe some of the dumb negative reviews! Honestly!! The light on the front is NOT meant to be a headlight and YES you have to remove the protective film from the visor!!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersMy old home made eye visor helmet saved me! The ILM helmet was just what i was looking for. I used the flip up visor for UV eye protection in addition to sun glasses, but after my 1st full face plant in 60yrs it is worth so much more(see old helmet pic). Its light weight, comfortable and the visor can be adjusted to flip up/down easily with the tension of the left screw. Size wise i am 58cm, the S/M adjuster max’d out and even with the pads removed was snug. The L/XL was way more comfortable for me with plenty of adjustment. And it has rechargeable 4-mode LED front and back lights if you like that.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGreat helmet. Comfortable, lightweight and protects. Bought it because of two features and has not disappoint at all. I needed a smoked visor because the sun is in my face when biking to work and wanted front and back flashing lights to make me visible because of the craziness while biking in NYC. Too many disrespectful drivers bringing their cars into the bike lanes.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat helmet.

Any time I’m out and I see a nice hat in a store, I have two thoughts:

    1. Nice hat.
    2. It will never fit me.

And sure enough, they never fit me. My head of unusual size has saved me untold thousands in unpurchased hats, but it has made buying bike helmets quite a challenge.

Challenge no more. This helmet can fit even the most egotistically swelled heads.

I ride in the winter, and when it’s cold I also wear a thick balaclava. This helmet still fits over all that.

The lights are neat. There are options, not as many as I’d like, but that’s always true.

The visor is great. It fogs up in the cold, it can flip away. The helmet can fit glasses, if you’d rather use those.

I have not tested it for summer riding in terms of vents and breathability.

Love this helmet. Looks and feels great and the safety lights make it safer for riding when visibility isn’t so great. Haven’t had impact test yet but I’m sure it protects well.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThe helmet is comfortable and the red flashing lights work great for making yourself visible. The white light is very dim, so do not buy it if you are planning to use it for night vision or lighting as you will be disappointed as I was. Other than that, it was good.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersIt really looks like a Robocop bicycle helmet with the visor down and from the last Robocop (sorry original fans. I don’t like it but, well, I think it is cool that it is a more recent version.)

Helmet comfort is a basic comfort you find in a regular bicycle or skateboard that is more than the cheap, half shell and shiny you find at your local walmart or bicycle shop. It is more identical to the skateboard helmets.

Visor is great and tinted for those sunny rides. The tint can be too dark at night. The visor, when up, blocks the headlamp making it hard to notice it in your view. There is a headlight and a red light. The headlight looks nice and bright, but it doesn’t show completely on the ground to light your path. The visor does block the light making it hard to see.

The battery lasts a long time. You could go on a three to four hour ride and the battery is in use.

Golden Review Award: 97 From Our UsersMy last helmet was decent but I had 2 main issues that I was looking to solve with a new helmet.

First, the shaded eye shield was great, but like most bike helmets it had a large plastic visor coming out of the top of the helmet that prevented the eye shield from rotating up the way this helmet does. The only option was to take it off, and it wasn’t particularly easy to store on your bike. I had plenty of rides that either started or ended while it was dark where I just had to leave the shaded eye shield off even though it would have come in handy at different points of the ride. Additionally, the shield would get smudged and scratched from constantly being put on and taken off.

This helmet solves that completely. There is no sun visor, but that isn’t a negative because the shield is fixed on the helmet. If it’s bright, I pull the shield down. The ability to flip it up or down based on changes in lighting is HUGE. Fewer smudges and scratches, able to handle the sunrise and sunset rides, and much more convenient overall. It was the primary reason I bought this helmet, and it has met my expectations perfectly in that regard.

The second problem with my last helmet was the chin strap. When I let it out enough to fit me, it only had a tiny bit of strap left to go through the clip and it frequently fell out. Because the strap system spanned both sides of the helmet, having it slip off messed up sizing all the way around. It was a mess.

This helmet has PLENTY of extra strap AND an elastic band holding the extra strap in place. It keeps the extra strap from getting in the way, and ensures that there won’t be a slip out.

The lights are a nice touch. Honestly, I don’t want a white light in front because I eat enough bugs while riding at night without something seducing them to the region around my mouth hole. The flashing red in front and back adds to your noticeability factor (but you really should have lights on your bike, too). I usually get at least 5 or 6 hours of riding with the lights on before I charge it.

FYI, when I say I have a big head, I am not exaggerating. I had to get a special brain bucket when I was in the military and I wore a massive 7 7/8 cap. Kids used to call me ‘refrigerator head.’ In the 6th grade.

So, this helmet is great for its eye shield versatility, its accommodation of massive craniums and its secure chin strap. It isn’t quite as well-vented as I am used to, but it hasn’t felt hot on any of a number of rides I have gone on with it.

If you want a lightweight helmet with a flipping visor that accommodates larger heads and has lights on the front and back, this one comes highly recommended.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersAwesome and cool helmet, it looks modern and clean.

I’m only giving 4 starts because of these negative points:
    – The visor does warp a little around the rounded edges
    – The led cycle has 4 options, but as other folks mentioned, the main obvious one — white front, red back — is not available. I’m not sure if battery wouldn’t hold white front + smth rear, or it they didn’t think this through.

In any case, it’s a great helmet.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI love the way this helmet fits my head. I have a larger size head and typically find that helmets don’t always want to sit right. This one fits down over my head and is tighten but with the adjustment knob at the back of the helmet to give me a snug fit. I really like the flashing rear red LED light so I’m more visible while on the road. I haven’t tried the front LED light at night as it doesn’t appear to be that bright but I have another light on the bike that I would use anyway. The front light is white while it is the only light on. If you have the back red light on in any mode then the front light becomes solid red. The charging port is a micro SD charger which seems silly as it would make much more sense to be a USB C type port. The charing cable is only 6 inches so you may want to do like I did and get a longer cable.

Overall I’d still highly this helmet.
