    Bio does not like running this at the its stated speed, so at the moment not good value for money, will see if bios’ will improve to a point when it can be used at the advertised speed!
    I am on my third Bios upgrade and still having problems, but much better than my K9900

    Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is an amazing chip, good overclocking and performance, that is if Intel and motherboard manufacturers don’t kill it with the bad microcode. But I have been running my one since day one as sensible voltages and clock speed with no issues at all. It’s a good chip just treat it well.

    Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersBought this CPU for my first ever self build. I ensured the motherboard BIOS was updated to prevent encountering the known issues the 14th gen CPU’s have been experiencing. Having done this, I’ve noticed that 2 cores do run at a max of 5.7ghz. I have no qualms with this. One thing to note, is that it does generate a lot of heat. I have 7 fans in total and under strenuous gaming load, the CPU can reach up to 81 degrees centigrade. Although this is hot, it is within spec. Haven’t had any issues thankfully so really happy with the purchase.

    (UPDATE 29/07/24) having looked more closely, two performance cores do run at 6.0Ghz so it is operating as stated. Thankfully no issues. Have updated the BIOS and haven’t noticed any reduction in performance. Will be looking at updating the BIOS again once intel releases its micro code update. Have noticed temperatures reaching 84-87 degrees during gaming, I think the ambient temperature contributes towards this slightly raised temperature as it has been quite warm in the UK over the last few days.

    We warned tho, this chip runs realy hot so don`t panic too much.
    I get around if my room is cold idle temps of 32oc and when my room is warm 38oc.
    But it does have temp spikes 75oc-85oc, so make sure you turn your AIO cooler to performance, auto, overdrive etc when playing games as the chip can get pretty warm.
    However it does cool quickly when it hits its throttle tho, went from 90oc to 73oc in seconds when doing a hard stress test.
    Its normal for the chip to get toasty so thought I would throw that out, cause alot of people are panicking and the K and KF are the same as well.
    PS: mine is running at overclocked at 4.4 low and 5.2 max continuesly so its temps remain high.

    Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersFirstly, I have purchased this CPU with my own hard-earned money so, this is a genuine Review and not one that has been er, cough, cough, otherwise encouraged.

    For any self-build PC, that is also intended to do some useful work for its living, then there are just three requirements that matter, namely:

    Stability, Stability and Stability.

    If that’s what you need, then this is probably the CPU for you. It was certainly the CPU for me, as I am building a machine for a purpose, and that is not to play Games, nor engage in pointless contests to extract the momentary best peak performance before calling the Fire Brigade, just after all the street lights outside have gone dim because the PC is drawing so much power!

    The Intel i9 14900 has the potential to be the rock steady Eddie of the i9 14th Generation line-up, simply because it is NOT designed to be Overclocked. The CPU multiplier has been locked, which limits that potential.

    Great, that is exactly what I wanted, so I was delighted when INTEL launched this one at the start of this year (2024).

    The Thermal Design Power (“TDP”) is also just 65 Watts, so this CPU should run considerably cooler than the alternatives that can be overclocked, that all seem to operate at 125 Watts or more when under the same comparative load. Basically, the TDP is the amount of heat the CPU is expected to output when under a set load. Intel also refer to this as the Processor Base Power.

    Unlike most, if not all, of the others in the i9 range, this CPU has the INTEL UHD Graphics 770 Integrated Graphics Solution which means that, provided your MotherBoard has the necessary video out Ports, you will generate a display even without a primary video card being fitted. This also provides a very useful fall back should the main video card (AKA Graphics Processing Unit or “GPU”) play up.

    In turn, having video on the CPU, can also be very handy and useful when troubleshooting problems with the main GPU, or when testing generally.

    I’ve gone for the ASUS ProArt Z790 Creator MotherBoard, which seemed to be the best option for the work I have in mind for the PC I am building (Design, 3D, Animation, Video and general creativity in both RGB and CMYK colour spaces). That board has many non-Gaming useful extras such as Thunderbolt, and both 2.5 Gigabit 10 Gigabit RJ45 network ports.

    Before buying, I could not tell if this CPU came with a Thermal Solution (AKA a CPU Cooler). I can now confirm that it does, as shown in the images. I have already gone for a water cooled AIO, but at least I also now have a back up CPU cooler, should that ever be needed.

    I’ve also gone for a matched set of 128GB Kingston Fury DDR 5 5600 MHz RAM, which comes as 4x 32GB Sticks.

    Before Ordering, I treble checked both the INTEL and ASUS Hardware Compatibility Lists, and the options for 128GB of RAM was, in fact, quite limited no matter which ASUS MotherBoard I went for.

    I can also confirm that the CPU has a THREE YEAR WARRANTY from INTEL, starting from purchase, or from the purchase of a commercially pre-built PC with this CPU in it. I have added an image of the INTEL Terms that came in the box as confirmation.

    The INTEL i9 14900 runs at 2000 GHz by default, which is automatically boosted up to 5800 GHz if the workload requires it. Again, this is what I wanted, a low tick over that can be accelerated when needed.

    I went for a Corsair iCUE 5000X Case, and Corsair 1200 SHIFT PSU, because that has the connections on the side, which should allow me to use the two Hard Drive bays that are just in front of the PSU in that Case (so in the middle bottom visually). I gather the usual PSUs with connections inboard, can interfere with the Hard Drive bays, as the cables clash with the Hard Drive bay. This may be useful to know.

    Lastly, I’ve also gone for a Thermal Grizzly CPU Mounting or Contact Frame, so will not be using the usual spring loaded CPU Clip on the MotherBoard, which I will remove. This option should provide even pressure and so avoid any potential problems with bending of the CPU when fitted. That Contact Frame is also said to aid cooling.

    I have also included an image of the Box when I was having dinner, as that was when Amazon delivered it, which may give you an idea of size, and specifically the size of the included Cooler. I may add the dimensions later, just for reference.

    I’m not anticipating any snags but, I may update this Review if anything of interest comes to light over the coming weeks.

    I hope this helps to decide if this CPU is for you. There are faster alternatives but, if reliability is paramount, then this CPU looks to be a pretty safe bet.

    Je passe d’un i9-9900KF avec DDR4 3200 MHz ce i7-13700F avec DDR5 VENGEANCE 7200 MHz 2×16 Go (CMK32GX5M2X7200C34), c’est nettement plus performant, c’est au moins deux fois plus rapide, fluide et ractif. Tout est stable grce la carte mre Mini ITX ASUS ROG Strix B760-I Gaming WiFi. Mes applications s’ouvrent dsormais instantanment.

    Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI was in 2 minds whether to get this or the i9 14900k..

    Seeing at the small increase in performance between the 2 I stuck with the i7 14700kf

    Not a bad price too at 380 at the time of purchase.

    Cant fault this processor. Performs great along with my RTX 4800 so I now have super smooth games at 2k at ultra settings.

    So many cores. 20 In total obviously 8 cores are the performance cores. with the other 12 being efficient cores. So makes a huge difference with video editing and intensive apps that utilise cores and multi threading

    Big power draw at 250w.. wow ! but to be expected as the amount of power these CPUs are capable of.

    I purchased the KF version as i have no need for any onboard graphics the intel integrated GPU on the K version is so weak anyway just not worth the extra cash for it.

    I had to update my bios as the processor would not even boot. So remember this before getting rid of your old 13th Gen processor, you require the latest bios for 14th Gen

    Very happy with purchase. My temps are 32c when idle (room temp is 22c) and 90c at max chuff (I have a corsair water cooler setup – that kept my 13700k at 75c when at max chuff)

    Power draw was around 270w for my pc when stress testing on CPUZ and at idle speeds when web browsing and light usage power was around 40w

    Would highly recommend

    Pros
    Fast
    * Great Value For Money
    * Reliable
    * boxed retail version

    Cons
    * Large power consumption
    * Runs HOT at full power
    * No Onboard GPU
    * Expensive for some
    * requires latest bios

    Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersI installed this CPU a month or so ago now, alongside 64gb RAM, on an ASUS TUF Gaming Motherboard.

    The TLDR; It’s lightening quick, and It’s super easy to install. As with all CPU’s care should be taken when installing and handling the CPU, but other than that it’s relatively straight forward.

    All I have to say, is this CPU is a beast. Like its so overkill for the average user. In for gaming it is just overkill. It is the perfect CPU for me, but also for those who do intensive work loads, such as running running large data models for AI purposes.

    My particular use case for this CPU was to allow me to build a virtual lab to which I could analyse malware in an virtual sandbox, whilst also emulating real world hacking attacks. At present I am able to run several virtual machines with no performance issues. As you can probably imagine, this power hungry beast can get warm, but with an adequate cooling solution, there should be no issues in keeping the PC nice and cool. I have paired this CPU with an AIO, and also additional fans for the case to ensure there is a lot of air flow to ensure that the thermals are a good temperature.

    My advice to anybody purchasing this CPU – go for it – it’s well worth the investment, while at the same time you’ll be future proofing your soon to be BEAST of a machine for the next 10 years.

    Habe nur die CPU getauscht von einer lteren i7 Generation und in Spielen, die sehr CPU Lastig sind (zB Watchdogs und Rainbow 6 Siege) teilweise ber 100 FPS mehr bei gleicher GPU wie vorher.

    Die neuen Generationen sind auf jeden Fall ein Upgrade wert. Und 24 Cores sind auch genial, knnte schon fast eine Server CPU sei

    Un procesador de lo mejor, puede con todo lo que le pongas, lo que no me ha gustado es que se calienta demasiado, suele trabajar en 60 – 70C, incluso llega en ocasiones a los 80C.
    Por todo lo dems tiene potencia de sobra para todo.
