Very quick delivery, item was well packed, the watch works as I would expect! Did have to get the strap altered, one does wonder if they are supplied for guerillas!
I love this watch. The build quality is superb for the price you pay (I got it for 90).
It’s a big ol’ girl, so make sure your wrists can take it.
I love it and will be getting variations of the same watch.
Very heavy very big and very beautiful watch , very well made and very happy with it only thing I had to look up was changing the date , turn bezel the opposite way to change i
For diving I use a long nato strap which will allow use over the top of a wet suit.
I’ve used this Yellow Grand Diver on 6 dives, the deepest being 24 metres.
I have found it comfortable to wear and easy to read in and out of water.
This is a stand out watch, which others notice and comment upon.
I am very happy with my purchase, which for me had a fantastic discount.
Well made. Well packaged. Just as I expected after reading numerous reviews. Got it on a good deal price but would have been just as happy if I’d paid the full price.
Large heavy man’s watch. Looks great and only gains the odd minute over a week to 10 day period.
Would buy agai
This is a heavy and large watch – which is exactly what I wanted. The movement is the same as you get in Invicta’s Pro Diver range – it’s a branded TMI NH-35a and keeps time well. The bezel is a bit stiff but turns OK (unlike some Invivta watches I own where the bezel does not turn at all).
The only think I am not fond of is the detailing on the sides of the case – ‘Invicta’ on one and ‘Grand Diver’ on the other. These do nothing for the look of the watch and I’d rather they weren’t there.
That said, I’m generally very happy with the watch – especially considering I bought it on sale. For the price paid it was a bargain. At normal amazon price, it is still good value for money.
It is a great watch for the money feels good on the wrist loolks good, I love it
PS i am not a watch snob
Love this watch! well made! Solid end links engineered scissor clasp! It’s a heavy and large watch but fits me perfectly and comfortable on wrist! If your wrist is slightly below average It may be too big for you! It has a good reliable Seiko movement (NH 35A which is found in a lot of more expensive watch brands.
85 for an automatic watch thats accurate feels very solid and very comfortable on the wrist. Its a big watch but on my wrist with two links removed it sits nice and does not feel uncomfortable at all, the braclet is solid with a good clasp and solid end links the watch itself has a very positive click rotating bezel with no play, screw down crown is nice and smooth also. The Lume is OK but doesnt last that long being about the only real negative atm, on the wrist the engravings on the case (i am not a fan of them) they almost become invisible and it does not look too tacky by any means. Overall a very solid and well built watch that is keeping superb time and at the current price for the blue model its a steal and the pictures on amazon do not really do it justice. I like my divers watches and own Seiko/Tag/Omega/Citizen and tbh i did not think i would be keeping the Invicta but its going nowhere except on my wrist..check one out and if you ignore the watch snobs i am sure you will be very pleased you did.
In summery yes its big but its comfortable to wear and its solid. (not tested the water resistance and like most it will not be used for diving, i just like this style of watch).
Wow, what a watch, chunky, sturdy and very well made. Looks like a watch worth many time the price. Beautiful to look at and I got so many positive comments about it on the first day I wore it to work. If you have an Invicta watch you won’t be surprised by these comments (this is my second), if you are looking but are undecided, just buy, you won’t be disappointed
I have a modest watch collection including a Rolex Deepsea (which is quite a big watch). The Grand Diver is slightly bigger – I am a leftie and have a 7 3/4″ wrist so looks OK. Purchased as an every day watch. Not impressed by how watch sent to me – packed in an oversize box, one bit of paper and watch box floating around inside. Incredibly no damage to yellow box. Read reviews of watch mech NH35A and most complementary on time accuracy. Would I buy another one? Yes – I have to say I am quietly impressed.
Nice BIG watch, but the hands are a bit difficult to see on the yellow face, as they’re fairly “delicate”. The “cyclops” isn’t easy to read either to be honest. I should really have gone for the black version, but got this on a deal. It is however reasonably accurate – I’ve had it go a couple of days where it has remained “spot on”, but as I rotate the watches in my modest collection and don’t have an auto-winder, I accept that. Rated as Water Proof to 1000 Feet – well, it is waterproof alright, and the lock-down crown is extremely positive. The deepest I normally go to is a hotel swimming pool at @ 9 Feet, so this watch will do me just fine 🙂
Great watch for the money I paid, heavy and solid build, the watch keeps good time, nearly as good as my Divemaster 500 which cost 10 times more.
This watch is water resistant, I know as I never take it off , it’s my work watch , so it gets wet , dirty , I have accidentally dropped it in the sewer, still works , only looses about a minute in two weeks, the luminous quality is good but not as good as a more expensive watch , but I am not complaining. Would recommended, update: Jan 2022 , watch is still working fine.
One thing that is astonishing on this watch is its accuracy. I gave it three hours on my watch winder to start with and after 24 hours wear it was 6 minutes fast! Confused, I reset it back to the current time and watched it over the next 7 days. Every single day after that weird initial one was roughly +4 seconds! Not only that, but I’ve tested it in a swimming pool (admittedly not the Mariana Trench) and completely waterproof as advertised.
I totally respect Invicta for their ability to bring a watch like this to market. I also accept that whilst their Pro Divers are a clear homage to a Rolex Submariner, the Grand Divers are pretty unique and have their own style, etc.
I have one issue with this watch, which is that I think the deep sea diver icon looks like a web cam and it’s not befitting of the rest of the watch’s exceptional qualities. The size isn’t an issue, but be aware that it’s big and it’s heavy.
Overall, this watch is fantastic for the money and I respect Invictas mantra “supremely made watches for modest sums”. The pro diver range doesn’t share the same qualities as this watch (but they’re typically half the price and are still great watches), but this fella really has won me over. I can’t stop wearing it, so my old watch rotation system is in ruins!
This is a great watch – both literally and metaphorically. It’s large and heavy, but not uncomfortable to wear. It comes in a yellow presentation box. The bracelet comprises solid links and is large, I had to extract 3 links, but this is simple to do so long as you follow the direction showed by the arrows on the inside of the bracelet. Accuracy of the Japanese movement is very good (currently running at about +6 seconds a day). The display back shows a yellow rotor that I like.
The only negatives, for me, are the markings on the case – “Invicta” on one side and “Grand Diver” on the other. A bit ugly and totally unnecessary.
Apart from that, I’m delighted.
It’s been a month and the the timekeeping has been pretty good. Maybe a minute a week loss/gain?
But if you want a stunning watch, certain sacrifices will be made. I’m confident that as the watch settles in the time keeping will level out. ( Going by the others in my collection).
The luminox works very well on a daily charge. Still visible into the wee hours without too much straining of the eyes.
So marks out of ten? A very solid 9 for a very solidly built watch.
I’m already lining up my next Grand Diver Automatic even as I write this.
UPDATE.
6 Years later….
STILL going strong…looks as good as the day I got it.
Absolutely love this watch. Incredible quality of build for the price, But you need to be aware it is a big heavy watch. Invicta make two similar models of divers watch, Pro Diver and Grand Diver. if you are slightly built, probably best to go for the Pro Diver and if you are bigger framed then the Grand Diver will be fine. Gets admiring glances from lots of people.
I was looking for a stainless steel watch for business use, that is big, rough, automatic and looks apart and is not too expensive. This watch ticks all boxes. Just be aware and don’t try to pull the crown to set the time as you will break you nails (not the watch), rotate clockwise the crown and you will be able to pull it once for date and second for time. When you finish the settings don’t try and push the crown back in like I did, rotate it anti-clock wise till it’s fixed. I don’t know how good the timekeeping bit is, it looks like after a few hours the watch lost already a second but this may well be normal for automatic watches, i don’t know. Just a quick tip, if you want the stainless steel bracelet to shine evermore, take a cloth and spray a bit of wd40 in it and ‘clean’ the watch with the cloth.
UPDATE: Over 4 years since bought and still works seamlessly. No battery hassle, big strong robust, manly and accurate. Plus people think I wear a Rolex. Couple a scratches on the dial but that’s normal for over 1,600 days of use. The belt holds perfectly with not one single issue. For just over 100 what else do you want?!
It is however a very large watch, now that suits me fine but you have to be aware just how BIG it is before you decide to buy it.
Positives:
Large and heavy watch that looks expensive
Nice detail executions (e.g. The diver’s helmet on the dial)
Beautiful two tone brushed and polished bracelet
Chunky clasp
Nice engraving on the case
Quality materials used
Watch out for:
The blue on the dial is different to the blue on the bezzle
The date magnifying glass is slightly wonky (but only ever so slightly and you might of course get one that is better)
Long bracelet so that you have to invest a little money to get it shortened (and I am a big guy)
Overall a beautiful piece well worth the money and I think I might order another 2 in different colours and a perfect match for my needs for a big watch that I can take on my travels without being worried about it too much
This is a decent watch at the price point. Its big heavy and rather imposing . Colours are vibrant and it has good quality seiko movement driving it. Presently running fifteen seconds down over a twenty four hour period which isn’t great but this dosent overly concern me. I have another in a different colour that only runs 6 seconds slow over the same period, very impressive for an automatic at this price so there can be variations on time keeping with the same movement.
Invicta do court a lot of controversy with their hugely inflated RRPs and year long sales, not to mention questionable reliability. Nonetheless I have a few and never experienced any technical issues so far. The divers do appear quite well built with a decent movement .
This is a good watch at the but not a great one. There are some great watches to be had at this price so this has to considered. However if you are intent on purchasing then I think you could do a whole lot worse than this monster.
Love this watch, such a bargain for money. As title says watch wouldn’t work on delivery, I tried everything to get it going. Anyway ordered another from different source and got quick refund from Amazon ;@). Good thing was I had opportunity to handle this monster watch. I’ve got reasonably slim wrists and it didn’t look out of place, It is a heavy lump, but worn it’s weight is not that noticeable. With 4 links removed it weighed in at over 200g,a fair bit heavier than my SS Tissot T-Touch. Having had replacement watch for week now, it’s loosing about 10-15 secs daily, which I would like to improve at some stage. My watch has the latest Seiko movement (NH35A), if you are buying then watch out for older movements although perfectly good reflects its old stock. The finish of the watch is extremely good (8.5 /10) for a relatively cheap watch. The bracelet has a fold-over clasp, don’t be put off by this it works perfectly well.
