Works great. The USB adapter gives you control over mute and call answering, the sound is good and the mic is great for noise cancellation. Reasonably comfortable when worn for a long time. Great for work calls. Doesn’t taste great without seasoning.
My son is super pleased with these as he can play with his friends without them being able to hear us in the background. We like the kids to be near us so don’t let them disappear up to their bedrooms but other headphones would pick up every tiny noise with made it hard to play. These are great though. Very happy boy.
Exactly as described. I had an opportunity to test this product before purchase and compare it with the Evolve 30 model because my daughter has both. I preferred this model so I was confident when I bought it. Absolutely no issues and it just works! Very comfortable and light and good quality sound input and output. I use it for online teaching every day and it meets my needs perfectly. The case is also good quality neoprene which gives neat storage and good protection.
I have the Jabra 60 headphones for my daily use, but these are backup for when I am on site or at a hot-desking location. They work really well. I prefer the 60’s but these are great in a pinch.
I bought these to replace a basic, aging Plantronics headset. A world of difference. They are comfortable to wear for long periods, great sound quality as well as a good microphone. They are not active noise cancelling and should not really be classed as noise cancelling in any shape or form… the ear covers rest on the ear so have little impact to cancelling noise from the surrounding area.
Still… the clear sound, good microphone and being comfortable to wear was just what I was looking for and these fit the bill perfectly. I do find sometimes that the microphone could do with a Windscreen Pop Filter which can be bought independently, but positioning the mic a little further away helps.
Noise cancellation is very decent, sound quality keeps your ears at ease and comfort is good
I use these for work through the USB connection. They are excellent and always work. Really like the button to control audio etc has a minijack which means I could use another pair of headphones should these break. A little overpriced but recommended.
I use this many hours every day on skype calls. It is excellent. Great sound quality and really easy to use. I love the control pad – it makes it easy to mute or hang up calls or adjust volume. Sometime after very long periods the ear pads get a bit warm on your ears but it’s a minor thing. Overall excellent and would highly recommend these.
The headset is comfortable and does a reasonable job on mic noise cancellation, for the price no complaints. Would have to go significantly more expensive to improve on these headsets.
I previously had the Evolve 30’s, which the build quality was not great and after a year broke, the 40’s feel better quality and the red active light is useful when in an office.
Exactly what I needed. Still comfortable at the end of a long day of calls. Only downside is I can’t figure out how to turn down the mic volume – probably user error!
The first headset I received had a fault, the mic did not work, amazon support and Jabra support were very good and I got them refunded and ordered a new set. They arrived quickly and worked perfectly straight away. Was pleased with them. Used then for one conference call while travelling then somehow managed to lose them, no idea how, just disappeared from my PC bag! So a quick 65 wasted, now I have to decide whether to buy another set.
Before I start, will caveat this right away. These were bought as “opened”, but when they arrived they were clearly BNIB, unopened retail, so bonus there. Secondly, I use these with the supplied dongle and that’s what the audio quality is based on. Used as regular BT headset, they are like any other – not the best, but that’s not the fault of the headset.
Plug the dongle in, and you also get a nice status LED. You also get exceptional audio quality and great range. We bought a load of the wired variety of these headsets for our office, but as I travel a lot I wanted something more portable and where wires won’t get in the way. When I use these, people cannot tell I’m on a wireless headset, and the noise cancelling is fantastic. They are super comfortable too – I’ve worn them for hours at a time and never experienced any discomfort. They even come with a nice carry pouch to protect them in transit. Sure, they aren’t the smallest in the world, but if that matters, Jabra do a whole range of headsets to suit different needs. I can’t quote for those, but these and their wired counterpart are fantastic.
Perhaps the only criticism I can throw at them is the battery. Not that it’s bad, it’s not, easily getting a full day out of them. It’s just that it doesn’t always announce they are low, and so mid-chat it might cut off. Easy remedied, just plug the USB cable in and you are wired, ready to go again without interruption.
Simply brilliant.
I needed a set of headphones for work which were professional looking and could be used to make calls. These are great. The only thing is you cannot have music too loud as the sound leaks.
I use this product every day. It is extremely comfortable for extended use (I use mine sometimes in excess of 5 hours at a time), and without any ear discomfort. Sound quality is perfect for my requirements; VOIP as well as watching films/TV and listening to music.
The microphone yields excellent quality and people often compliment the clear sound at the other end of VOIP and broadcasts. The only very minor gripe is that moving the mic to and from the useable position is extremely noisy so you have to mute before doing so.
The flexibility of both USB (for PC) and audio/jack (for phone) is welcome, although you lose the mute capability when you detach the controller, necessary for jack use.
The controller is very simple to use, although I tend to only use three of the buttons (volume up and down, and mute. The busy light is a great feature though I don’t have much use for it myself.
The red lead from the headset to the controller is very sturdy and I’ve snagged it by accident a few times and without issue.
The earpads feature a tilt mechanism for greater comfort that may explain why these are more comfortable than other headsets I’ve used.
I’ve rated everything 5 stars, with the exception of the value for money at 4 stars. I did this only to indicate that these headsets are not as cheap as others, but in all fairness that difference in price is likely at the expense of quality in the other units.
Purchased these to use for Skype conferences and the sound was impressive – they also cancel out background noise. Not had a chance to use all the features yet but very useful to have the 2 in 1 connection. Microphone clips away neatly and they come with a handy carry case. They do ‘plug and play’ on a Mac but you need to change the sound settings first in System Preferences. There is sufficient depth of sound to listen to music on a laptop. all in all, very happy!
Great that this works in your smartphone AND your laptop. Comfort ok but a little sweaty in this hot summer weather and can make your ears ache after a long teleconference (or is that the conference content).
Comes in a nice little bag to keep it safe in your laptop bag. Colour scheme is a little lairy with the orange wire. One side can be made to light up (controlled by USB bit) to inform colleagues that you are unavailable – not sure what happens if they approach you from the other side ;-).
Overall, does the job very nicely.
Definitely high quality headphones extremely comfortable to wear and very functional the headphones and Mic is in just the right place and you can drink tea what talking to people but I am extremely impressed with these headphones and I think they are worth the money
Good but microphone picks up busy office noise. Also i found i had to turn the volume up more on these to hear the conversation compared to my old headphones. However still very good.
Very clear and I could participate in a call a lot more better. Due to the flexibility of using both 3.5mm jack (male) and USB, i can use this single device for my laptop, phone (yeah, I am still using iPhone 6s), and Cisco desk phone albeit requires a simple RJ9 to 3.5mm jack (female). I can also pair this device with another bluetooth Jabra to transfer my phone Skype for Business call between my laptop and phone (yet to be done – still waiting for funding for Jabra bluetooth headset).
I use this on a CISCO soft phone via my work laptop. The quality of audio is outstanding, I also use it on Skype. In addition to conference calls you can unplug the headset cable from the control unit and use it on your phone or audio device, including the microphone.
The ear pads are soft and very comfortable, I wear glasses and find most headsets crimp the spectacle arms into the side of my head. These do not. I run conference calls throughout the day and these are the comfiest I’ve used.
A good well designed product great for business use webex etc and listening to music. It comes in a soft case and the ear phones rotate to allow them to be flat when packed away. Sound quality is good and I like the fact it can be connected to a phone via thw headphone jack but also to a pc with the hub and USB port. The only negative is that the microphone rattles sometimes which can be annoying when using it hence only 4 stars.Overall a good product which I am satisfied with for the price I paid 50.
Before I bought these I looked around for a looong time, and I can say for sure that in the end, I made the right choice!
The output sound from the headset is excellent and people on the other side say that they can hear me clearly and without any distortion or background noise (which was my point all along with these!)
I really like the USB connection as it allows to use the Jabra Evolve software that will change the headset lights when I’m on a Skype or Skype for Business call (unfortunately it doesn’t do the same with Google Hangouts)
Been really impressed so far. They connect to both a laptop and a mobile at the same time and figfure out how and when to swap between the two without you having to mess around dis-connecting / re-connecting. Great sounds quality too and a nice finish. Works welll with Skype for Business where the mute controls etc work directly with SfB itself. Worth the invvestment.
Very happy with the Jabra Evolve 40 headset. Sound quality is great and with the ease use in-line controls is great. Soft case will hopefully keep it safe than a previous headset.
Cable length is fine for sitting or standing at my desk and the ear pieces are great for prolonged usage.
I love Jabra products, we use the conference call device in the office.
These headphones are definitely worth it. Bass response is great when listening to music. The passive noise cancellation makes working in the office a little better, although I would prefer to upgrade to some active cancellation. The mic noise cancellation I think is very good, with callers remarking that it sounds like I’m working in a library and not a busy open plan office.
However, I have two fairly minor niggles the spoil my enjoyment a little:
1. The cable/lead is quite rigid and hard to the touch. Which equates to it audibly banging in your ear, even when it brushes against your shoulder you can hear it through the right headphone. It’s rigidity means that it splays out in a wide coil and doesn’t just fall to the side. It gets in the way and is quite annoying. Audiophiles beware.
2. Not a game changer, but disappointing for such a great product. The microphone is supposed to clip away onto the headband. It does this magnetically, but the magnet is extremely weak. The mic base is attached to the right earpiece and when it twists to fit your ear, the mic will instantly pop off the headband.
It’s still a high quality product, but if you are niggled by small details I’d look elsewhere.
Very clear sound, comfortable fit.. sturdy build quality. Nice bag for carrying… I haven’t used the usb attachment as the 3.5mm plug plugs into laptop, and works on my mobile phone the same…might upgrade for larger cup ears next time, just because they look really good.lol.. but these are great for walking and talking.. or accessing files on phone and talking at the same time. I use them on goto meeting conference calls aswell. A previous review, said you can’t hear yourself…that is correct but you are fully immersed with both earpieces..or push one back if you want to hear your voice and also when driving for safety..and possibly legality.
A good over-the-ear headset, which I use when on conference calls. Works very well with my iPhone and I’ve been told by people on the other end of the call that the sound quality is excellent. You can swing the mic around depending on whether you want it on the left or right side of your mouth.
I’ve docked a star because the headset gets uncomfortable after a while (squeezes on my ears too much). Because they cancel almost all peripheral noise, I’ve realised I end up talking very loudly into the mic (because you can’t hear yourself talk) and I also need to have the phone volume set very low because you can hear other people on the call very well. I tend to wear the headset with one of the ear pieces behind my ear (a bit like a DJ), but maybe that’s just me.
Headset comes with a separate control unit (adjust volume, mute etc), though unfortunately, it’s only for when the headset is plugged in via the USB (ie you can’t use the separate control unit when the headset is plugged into a smartphone using the 3.5mm jack).
A protective travel pouch is also included.
Overall, highly recommend.
Great headset for using with Lync/Skype etc. Good audio quality, comfortable to wear for long periods and well built. Having the separate control unit (which is well laid out) is ideal for muting, changing volume etc. The 3.5mm jack means you can also use the headset in other devices (mobile etc) and potentially use other headsets with the control unit, so offers greater flexibility. Comes with a handy pouch if you need to travel with the headset.
