I hate the draw being filled with utensils all over the place, this creates a clean draw with easy to reach untensils. Well made and sold you can see where you money goes compared to cheaper ones
Liegen gut in der Hand und sind aus der Packung heraus sehr scharf. Seit drei Wochen im Einsatz keinerlei Anzeichen von schwche. Wie das auf Dauer ist wird sich noch zeigen.
These are a really good set of knife love joseph joseph things worth every penny
They fit my kitchen drawer perfectly.
The knives are thin steel but have made meal prep a breeze
The bread knife is amazing
Don’t put these in the dishwasher as they are not suitable
Good value se
Got these on offer at Amazon and have experience with Joseph Joseph products. The blades are very nice, the handles are a bit light and hollow and would prefer a bit more weight to them. Overall for the money I think they could have been more sturdy.
These knives are sharp and they look good.
However if the fact that you get this nice little in drawer storage tray that sets them apart in my opinion.
You’d expect a decent knife, especially from this brand, to be sharp. That’s a given
But these look good is a bonus and the fact they store nice and neatly in a normal drawer using the tray that included really just adds that little bit extra.
Bought for our son’s partner. They’re delighted and are able to sluce and chop with the best if them.
We have been using these knives for a while now and find them to be very good. The colour coding helps you to grab the right knife and the tray keeps them organised in your drawer. There is a knife for pretty much every kitchen cutting task.
The blades are thinner than a more traditional knife but we find that this helps with cutting firmer or thicker objects. Certainly if you have a weaker wrist then I think you will see the benefit of the thinner blades. They arrive super sharp and seem to be holding their edge. I have tested them with a sharpener and they sharpen easily enough.
At 70 they are expensive even for a named brand, hence the four stars, but with care should last you for a very long time.
Joseph Joseph Elevate Knives Store 5-Piece Knife Set with in-Drawer Storage Tray
What a lovely knife set. Super easy to hold. They look great and are easy to clean. Very sharp as you’d expect and are fantastic quality.
The storage container is also perfect as it fits on the utensil drawer like a glove.
Highly recommended!
I’ve had a few items from Joseph Joseph and they have all been amazing quality, including these knifes. The storage block is a great idea and fits nicely in my drawer. I like the more minimalist look so I love being able to put them away nicely rather than have a big block out on my counter. The knifes themselves are really nice and sharp and they rest nicely when placed down without touching the counter which saves a lot of mess. For 70 these are fantastic
This set five knives in a variety of sizes making it great for all sorts of cooking. The handles also feature bright coloured ends so you can grab the right one easily. The in drawer tray is great if you want to keep your drawer organised and neat although it does mean thinking a bit about where to fit it. The knives are well made, sharp and easy to use and clean again afterwards. I think the price is too high for what you get but it’s a well known brand name so it’s to be expected even if it’s not strictly worth it in terms of design or quality when compared to less expensive brands.
Excellent set of kitchen knives. Really easy to hold and they’re very sharp. Super easy to store in their own holder..they fit perfectly into a drawer. Love them.
I really like this set of five knives. In the set you get a 3.5″ Paring knife a 4.5″ Serrated knife a 5.5″ Santoku knife a 6.5″ Chef’s knife and 8″ Bread knife. The set is very sharp and should be used with care. I like that the knives have been made so that when you lay a knife down its cutting surface doesn’t touch the work surface making it more hygienic. The manufactures have colour coded each knife to fit in its corresponding colour coded space in the knife store. Each knife clicks into its own space in the drawer tray. No more near misses with knives blades pointing upwards in the draw amongst all the other bits and pieces. This set is a little on the light side compared to what I have already, but the knives are sharp and very well made. If you have space in your kitchen drawer for this set, then I can really recommend them, therefore it’s 5* from me folks.
For me the most important thing was that I think that the dimensions of the spoons & ladle are great for controlling portion sizes, thereby helping us maintain healthy weights AND reducing food waste when it comes to cooking/baking/serving. Also important for me to note; the utensil heads are suitable for non-stick cookware & are heat-resistant up to 200C, while the silicone handles can withstand up to 270C.
The ‘Elevate technology’ gimmick about how the utensils are “designed to improve hygiene and reduce mess” didn’t really mean anything to me at the time of agreeing to test them out, but how the weighted handles & built-in tool rests prevent the tool heads from touching the work surface when placed down has indeed proven to be another great feature.
The product quality is great and the gimmicky bit is great, I just think that the price is a bit steep. I don’t know – the quality is very high, so you should get years of use out of each piece, but 10 each utensil still seems ‘ouch’ to me…
Made from a wonderful manufacturer which I’ve been lucky enough to both test and buy from in the past. I was really happy when these popped up on vine as I have recently been out and brought the same branded chopping boards and draining equipment. So matching with the theme, I now have a lovely set of the same branded knifes too. This is very much a household set and in the kit you get a knife which works perfectly with almost every cut you may need while chopping during your home cheffing. They are nice and sharp and come complete with a lovely draw holder for between use. Quick and simple and overall a lovely product. I would most certainly buy again 🙂
I have recently had a new kitchen installed, so I was in the market for a new set of knives. I want to keep my new worktops clutter free, so decided against a traditional knife block. I was therefore delighted when I saw this set of knives, especially as they are a Joseph Joseph product, due to always being pleased with their products in the past.
The knives arrived very well packaged in a nice box, so they would be a great set for gifting. The box contains lots of information on the product, including what each knife can be used for (i.e. fruit, veg, meat, fish etc), which I found particularly helpful, especially I have never used a Santoku knife before. The set contains :-
3.5″ (9 cm) Paring knife
4.5″ (11 cm) Serrated knife
5.5″ (14 cm) Santoku knife
6.5″ (16.5 cm) Chef’s knife
8″ (20 cm) Bread knife
On opening the box, the storage tray was packed separately, and they knives were contained within their own box. Each knife was in a plastic bag, with a cardboard sleeve around it, protecting both the knife and the recipient ! Each knife is colour coded to it’s own place in the storage tray. The blades are made from Japanese steel and are very sharp ! The handles are weighted and have an integrated tool rest, which I really liked. This means the blade does not come into contact with the worktop when placed down. This particularly appealed to me, especially with having newly fitted worktops.
Once the knives are in the tray it fits neatly into a drawer. It is very easy to remove the knives from their tray.
I am keen on cooking, so have used the knives to prepare a meal today. The chef’s knife cut through leeks with ease, and I was able to get the thin slices I needed. I have also used it to cut peppers. The knives also made light work of chopping garlic. The paring knife has an extremely fine point which proved useful deveining prawns. The bread knife cut through a crusty bloomer with ease. The knives are very comfortable to hold, and washed easily leaving no residue. One point to note is that the knives are NOT dishwasher safe. I don’t have a dishwasher, so this wasn’t an issue for me, but just something to bear in mind.
I am looking forward to using these knives on a daily basis in my new kitchen. I think for a set of five quality knives, and in-drawer storage tray they tick all the boxes, including being excellent value for money from a well respected company. I would not hesitate to recommend them.
This five piece utensil set from Joseph Joseph is an absolute winner.
All five are ‘must haves’ in a busy kitchen.
As a seasoned reviewer for Amazon it takes something special to really impress.
This set of robust, well designed and well performing tools are excellent.
This Joseph Joseph Elevate 5-Piece Utensil Set does just that.
The tools them selves are well made, robust, colour coded.
I really like the addition to the shafts that allow you to balance the ‘spoons’ on their edges. A simple design that saves you time and effort in preparing food.
Total brilliance.
Recommended.
These are very good kitchen knives; definitely sharp and with well-designed handles that feel comfortable in your hand. The set covers a good range of the knives you’ll need in the kitchen – the long chef’s knife, the chunkier santoku, a serrated bread knife and the two smaller paring and vegetable knife, one serrated, one straight. They look good and have a couple of original design features.
First, there’s is the holder for the knives, designed to fit in a kitchen drawer. This is clever (as long as you have the space in your kitchen drawers to fit it) because it holds the knives safely in the drawer with the blades hidden away where they won’t get blinded by knocking against other utensils in the drawer and, very importantly, no one is going to stick they hand in the drawer to grab something quickly and end up cutting their fingers on the blades! The individual slot in the holder and the knife that fits in there have matching little buttons of colour so you know which goes where easily.
Second, and this is a clever feature I’ve never seen on a kitchen knife before, one side of the handle has a slightly longer, square edge to the guard which means that when you’re using the knife and you want to put it down between cuts, you can lay it down so it rests on the square edge and the blade doesn’t touch the countertop, which is cleaner and hygienic.
This is a really good set of kitchen knives which would make a great gift for something like a housewarming or wedding present. Or just get some to enjoy using yourself!
So in theory this is great, keeps everything nice and neat in the draw. It’s colour coded so people should put everything back in the right slot. This doesn’t fit in our drawer though because of the ladle, so we’ve had to take that out and put one of our other Joseph Joseph utensils in its place.
I believe our drawers are standard size, but I’d recommend double checking the height of yours to be on the safe side.
The utensils are brilliant, hard to stain, heat resistant, easy grip, easy to clean.
Joseph Joseph kitchen products are without doubt amongst the most stylish and desirable for the modern kitchen. Sleek, practical and attractive – what’s not to like? This set of utensils comes with colour coded handles and a storage tray with corresponding colour coded slots.
One brilliant feature is the integrated food rest that allows you to set the used utensil down without messing the surface as the bowl of the spoon or ladle sits clear of the worktop (which is not to say that liquid won’t drip from it onto your clean worktop of course!). A nice touch. The utensils are heat resistant and dishwasherproof.
So why just four stars? One important thing is missing from the packaging and product information which is recycling. Without knowing what these are made of, how does the customer know how to safely recycle them when they come to the end of their useful life (or get damaged)? There is zero information on the box or inside – I find this astonishing when we now routinely look for such information on buying almost anything. I checked the Joseph Joseph website for that information but all it gives is recycling information on electrical goods … which leads me to believe that these utensils cannot be recycled and will therefore one day end up in landfill in all their beauty. I would, of course, be delighted if anyone can correct me on this assumption.
Meanwhile all I can do is to take good care of them and make sure they last as long as possible and provide the years of good service which they are said to do.
I ordered these to replace my stainless steel set of kitchen utensils – which i didnt like using on my new pans and also didnt like the fact they kept falling over in the pot and clattering on the floor.
These are really well-made, not sure how useful the colour coding is – its quite easy to see where the utensil fits in the tray ( if you are using the tray that is)
I do not have the room to use the tray in a drawer – but it would be a nice touch if you have the space and room in your kitchen drawers.
Great tools – easy to wash and very lightweight as well.
A bit pricey so hopefully i will get plenty of use out of them x
