Great for wide toe fit and comfy in general with no need to ‘break in’ but absolutely not waterproof. Feet got really wet from day oneboth boots, all round so not a specific leak anywhere, just not waterproof. I bought them on offer so am keeping to use as a summer boot but they’d be going back if I’d paid full price. True to size.
Bought for my wife who has wider feet than the average and runs into problems getting boots to fit comfortably. Keen boots seem that little bit wider. They replaced another pair of Keen boots she had worn to destruction. She had no problems on a 5 mile inaugural walk across muddy/rocky terrain so they seem to be a success.
These boots are comfortable, with a wide toebox. I have already worn them a lot. Do not necessarily go by the size suggested on Amazon. I was advised to buy a 6; I needed a 7 (40).
These were the perfect hiking boot ! Lovely and wide around the toe , with an arch support that left my feet so comfy and supported. Absolutely waterproof. I was in the snow and rain in these beauties – and not one bit of water came through. They are pricey – but worth every Penny !!!
I am totally satisfied with these boots! they are soft inside and stable around foot and ankle. well structured, and comfortable for long walks! I used them also in mud soil, the feet remains isolated and dry, they stay also quite clean in the end not holding dirt and soil. Great mid-level boot 😀
I have tried other makes of walking boots but nothing compares with Keen for comfort and durability. I work outdoors all day and must have comfortable, waterproof boots – Keen never disappoint. I have worn Keen boots for years and all the styles have been great, with these being the most robust . I have bunions and Morton’s Neuroma so the wide toe box is perfect. Especially as they support the heel and rest of my foot normally without being loose (as other makes of wide fitting boots can) but leave plenty of room for my toes and metatarsal orthotic inserts.
I bought these boots for wearing on walks with the dog in wet weather. They have proved to be waterproof and snow-proof. Good fit, but still enough space for extra socks. Very comfortable, lightweight, and most importantly for me, waterproof.
I’m a UK 5 or 5.5 and ordered the 5.5 in this, as I like to have scope for thicker socks if needed. I also ordered the higher rise for a bit of ankle support as I walk a Sprocker spaniel several miles a day across what can be fairly rough fields, footpaths, and tracks. (My last pair of similar hiking/walking boots, a different brand, had finally after three years given up.) These were instantly comfortable in normal low socks, great room, sturdy. So far, they appear to be waterproof. My feet are on the wide side but there’s no tightness at all across the width. I like them so much I’ve just ordered the shoe version as well for when I’m not going on a really off-road walk.
Just as described, excellent walking boots, extremely comfortable with a wide toe box which is exactly what I need. Completely waterproof. I love Keen walking boots and shoes. Highly recommended.
Bought for walking the dog on moorland every day. I need good toe room due to bunions and ingrowing toenails, plus I need to be able to wear thick walking socks in winter. These met all my requirements and look good to. I’ve worn them now every day for a week, no blisters or rubbing and they feel supportive over rough ground (and believe me Dartmoor is rough ground). Proven to be waterproof too, although we haven’t had a lot of rain.
Loved the boot on my right foot but back of left heel has lining ricked . I returned these and had replacement pair but they were wxactly the same . So decided to get money back
Agood boot for someone needoing wide toe space
Bought after reading many reviews. I have wide 5.5 feet, normally having to buy a size 6. The 5. 5 in these fir perfectly, with room for thick walking socks. First walk of 4 miles, no issues at all. Very pleased.
Bought these over a month ago for trail walking up to 10 miles. Have difficulty finding footwear to fit my tiny (size 3) but very wide feet and skinny ankles. Have now worn these boots many times and I am delighted with them. The extra width continues the length of the boot so no pinch points. I bought a size 3.5 to accommodate hiking socks, but I could have got away with a 3. With careful lacing, however they don’t slip on my feet. Although comfortable from the box I found them too warm in the milder September weather, preferring my Skechers for summer walks. Now that I am encountering mud and rain they are coping well, though I haven’t waded through any water in them yet. The grip on the sole is good in slippery conditions. The boot comes further up my ankle than my previous pair and this took a little getting used to, but the cushioning is good so they do not rub. The laces are quite long and tricky to knot tightly but I like that they are quite thick. Maybe slightly heavier than my old boots but probably because of the higher ankle. A good solid walking boot.
I don’t write many reviews but felt these so deserved one. A bit long winded sorry but worth a read….I’ve been a Salomon’s fan all my adult life; trail, running, hiking boots until recently (past the dreaded 50) I started getting acute pain around my little toes. So much so that I could hardly walk. I tried all sorts until I read it could be Morton’s Neuroma, pinching of the nerve running between the small toes often caused by too tight toe box! I needed to replace my old Salomon hiking boots anyway and set to doing so much research it made my head spin! I’d read about KEEN Targhee’s being roomier in the toe box, so I took a risk and bought them. I’m so glad I did! I literally now have no more pain at all. They lost only one star on comfort and thickness as I’d say for a day hike, the soles are less forgiving than my old Salomons but I’ve bought new socks to compensate. They are definitely waterproof (see pics this was from long wet grass) my feet are completely dry and by the end of the walk the outer had dried quickly. They don’t look wide and clumpy on (like some boots with a wider toe box) they feel light and secure around my feet. The laces are that kind of slippery material which I’m not a fan of but that said they haven’t come undone yet and I tuck them in for security. Easy to get on and off, no having to undo the entire lacing system. And lastly I am around a size 5.5, bought a 6 and they fit perfectly with a pair of medium weight hiking socks. Love this colour combo too! Hope this review helps 🙂
Keen are my go to brand for comfortable hiking shoes and these are as usual, brilliant. Replacing a well loved but now a little worn pair of the same iteration. Highly recommend.
Exactly what I wanted had to return the original boots as to small then ordered a bigger size and returned old ones no problem at all free delivery and a refund happy days thanks.
I’ve got…. Wide feet, high instep and plantar fascitis.
I wore these boots to try them out on a short six mile flat walk.
No pain fit beautifully, I’m a convert to Kee
The best walking boots I have ever had! I’ve been suffering from plantar fasciitis for a while now, but with these boots I’m able to walk without pain. They are soooo comfortable and great for my wide feet. Fantastic that they do half sizes too- I’m a 41 (7.5) and the size was as expected from the reviews I’d read.
