The shed was great value for money. Easy to put up with little tools needed. I would recommend this shed to anyone. You need to have a solid base first.
It needs a flat base to sit on and is light and sturdy enough to move once you have put it up.
If you read the instructions clearly, it is fairly easy to put up but you need two people to do it.
Really pleased with this versatile storage, which was straightforward to assemble. You can avoid the need for a second person by fitting the window in the side panel first on a flat surface and placing a brick or similar on the edge of the roof when screwing that together. Need to have a wind free day though!
Bought this to replace an old disintegrated wooden shed. Very pleased with it. Seems sturdy and waterproof despite some torrential rain. Comes with 2 moveable shelves. Put together by someone else, but didn’t seem too difficult.
Love the colour and their is no condensation as yet.
This was a bit tricky to assemble but mainly because the slabs the base was fixed to wasn’t quite level causing the roof to be out of line. Managed to sort this on second attempt. Hold a great deal and as still had some Keter standing shelves from before to take some of the gardening sprays etc, is tidy. As expected, walls not as sturdy as a wooden shed so haven’t put anything too heavy against them. Very happy with this.
Assembly took about 3 hours with two people. The instructions could be clearer and one error found (front and back mislabelled). Not as sturdy as I was expecting but seems to keep the rain out.
Bought this 3 times from Argos and every single time (yes every single time) they delivered with duplicate or missing parts and I had to return. Eventually I bought it from Amazon and it got delivered on time and with no fault. It’s almost straight forward to assemble but requires at least 2 people. It looks good and doesn’t leak at all. Very happy with my purchase
Great apart from a cracked part – the advice on the seller was deconstruct the item and send it back, for a one-inch crack. It seems like lots of people have split plastic, I reported it through the keter website and told it would be at least 6 months for a replacement part (conservative estimate). Confused..
my shed was delivered with one of the panels damaged. I contacted Keter directly and although they eventually sent a replacement for the damage part, it took about 2 weeks for them to respond and process my request. The shed itself is good and I managed to put it up by myslef for around 3 hours. I had a bigger Keter shed so I know what to expect as far as quality and setting it up. Will recommend
Good storage shed, easy to erect, care needed with the roof attachment. Only downside is that it was delivered damaged and Keter are very slow sorting out the problem. Had it not been so cheap it would have gone back. Amazon have been more than helpful for their part. 3 months on and still no replacement part.
Easy to follow instructions, waterproof, sky light a nice touch allowing light to filter in.
Might need a Stanley knife to clean some of the sections on doors to make it fit properly, just bits of plastic to trim due to moulding process. Delivery was amazing, professional had ordered this from another supplier told 2-7 days after 3 weeks was still waiting. Cancelled and got it from Amazon.
Thanks Amazon!
Half of the back side does not fit that well and doors cannot be opened/closed with ease. There is plastic “residue” in the holes where screws are supposed to be placed. Initially thought it was damaged by the window where a curvature was present, however this looks like it is a design “feature”. Not sure if over 600 is a justified price. Assembly services booked at first but after two requests from rescheduling on their end we decided to put it together ourselves (about 2 and half hours)
I got this on a deal from Amazon recently for 410 which was about half of what the usual other retailers were selling this for. Delivery was great and it comes in 2 very large parcels. The instructions were fairly easy but still took 2 of us over 3 hours to construct. When assembled it is nice a sturdy and it is a lot bigger than I thought it would be. Loads of storage and a shelf at the back which holds upto 20kg so a helpful addition. Very pleased with it so far and hopefully it lasts us a while. We have a smaller Keter storage chest thar has lasted over 6 years and still going strong so I would definitely recommend this.
Was easy enough to put together unfortunately some bits where they were supposed to clip in by the door hinges did snap, which wasn’t great but doesn’t seem to affect the overall structure.
The plastic bolts to screw and lock in the sides were a tad difficult to tighten due to the awkward space and size of head.
Other than that seems ok. Not sure if you can attach your own shelves to the sides but as a storage shed works OK.
The first one they delivered had a broken bit. Unfortunately I couldn’t just get a replacement because they had put up the price so I had to return the broken one and order a new one at the higher price. I thought that was rubbish but I love the shed. It’s a good size, it’s quite light inside and my nephew put it up in a couple of hours. It blew across the drive in the high winds but that was when it was empty. Once I got stuff in it, it was fine.
I bought the shed on offer and found it good for the price.very happy with the end result but believe instructions need improving also suggest to build it in two because on your own is very difficult especially as I did on a windy day. Can’t say anything about if is weatherproof because not rain yet but I did use silicon on the ceiling for peace of mind
It comes in two heavy cartons but thin gauge cardboard cartons.
Secured by plastic binding strips.
DON’T CUT THE STRIPS. They can be slid off slowly in case you need to repack and return the shed
Unfortunately the contents of each individual carton are not listed anywhere.
Unpack and thoroughly inspect everything for damage and accuracy of content.
If you are happy you have everything get a Stanley knife and remove all the surplus moulding flash.
Make sure all the pre drilled screw holes are in fact pre drilled.
Make sure you secure the centre piece connecting the two rear wall panels correctly.
If you don’t it will drive you mad.
Keep double checking everything
Squirt some UB40 in the gaps of the roof centre piece it will help with the roof assembly.
You end up with a watertight shed which looks good and does the job.
It does need two people.
We added a wooden floor to give a flatter less slippy finish.
Can’t fault the price or Amazon customer service.
I wanted a tool shed for my garden tools and lawn mower. The Keter shed was the perfect size to fit between my garage and greenhouse. It had to be installed in place which meant that I could no longer get to the sides, but could reach the back thought my neighbours garden. I worked alone, starting soon after it was delivered around 11:30, and had it finished 4 hours later just as it was getting dark. All I had to do the following morning was fit the 2 internal shelves. The shed has been completed with the exception of a couple of screws half way down each side as they are out of reach! Overall very pleased with the shed and ease of assembly.
Following ordering the shed, the communication surrounding delivery was good, and the shed arrived on the specified day with updates as to time of delivery. On unpacking the two large boxes, and laying out all the parts, the shed resembled a giant jigsaw puzzle, My Partner loves the challenge of a difficult jigsaw so was not put off at all. There is a fair sized Instruction Manual, but we had viewed a couple of helpful Utube Videos, which were of great assistance. All specified parts, screws, etc. were in the boxes. It took about 3 hours for my Partner to assemble the shed on his own. I “supervised” and just helped with holding down the roof lining when he fixed the screws. It was the hottest day of the year so far in our area (18 July) so he did very well in the circumstances The shed seems pretty sturdy and, despite a couple of downpours, there is no sign of any leaks, but it has only been in position for one week. A downside is the shed does get very hot, unlike other shed types, so gloves definitely needed to be worn for assembling. Would not recommend installing the shed on a windy day either. Therefore, so far so good, and would recommend. It certainly looks good.
Excellent product once assembled – watertight and sturdy.
The assembly instructions leave a lot to be desired in places – just illustrations no supporting words. Because you know what the finished product looks like you can make educated guesses as to what the illustrations mean. Not ideal at all.
Allow around 6 hours to ensure you have all the required pieces and then fit together.
Would I buy again? Yes as the effort is really worth it in the end.
Been searching for months and almost bought for just under 600 as out of stock everywhere. Waited a few weeks and low and behold got it for under 400 and used a TCB Amazon voucher to reduce to under 350. Did the 6×6 all by myself. Please take note about door hinges. They MUST be put on correctly. Pls check before putting on roof etc that door closes correctly with no gap where hinges are. Hinges were a bit finicky to slot in but managed after a few cursings lol. Although plastic material seems weak trust me once put up it is stable and strong. Shed is about 2 feet away from fencing and in very very windy conditions on a flat surface this has not moved. Definitely weatherproof too. For the price I paid compared to everywhere else shed was definitely a bargain. Been getting nice comments about it too. Will only need jet washing. Would highly recommend and would purchase a smaller one if I need to in the future.
The shed is great. Both my sons started assembling it, but as one of the went to work, the other completed is ie erecting the rest of the sides roof using the instructions that came with it and relied heavily on YouTube. Admittedly, he would have struggled and be more frustrated if it weren’t for the video. The only very small thing is putting up the shelf as it doesn’t seem have a way of securing it in the middle as 1 long shelf as it cannot hold any weight (perhaps a pen or two) without slipping down at an angle, even the videos doesn’t not show how it is made sturdy, it just shows putting it in place. So would appreciate any ideas on securing it for proper light use. As a tip, based on my experience the roof MUST be screwed in place to the body of the shed using a power drill, and MUST be assembled in the order as instructed, if not, it will be difficult and time wasting to go back to start again. Assembly to my son about 5 hours to complete with time watching videos and following them. Lastly, the shed endured heavy rain with strong winds and survived with no water leakage. I’m happy with this purchase and sturdiness performance so far. I’m looking forward to many years together, with light maintenance wash with water if anything. Btw, I chose this Keter shed for its durability and low maintenance (if any) due to my limited mobility which would unable me to do the upkeep required for metal and wooden sheds.
I hope my experience (lengthy description) will be useful to someone else.
Bought this as an easier alternative and less wait than a conventional wooden shed. Good purchase.
Installation. Easy. Please note that you do need a level and sturdy base, we used plastic and gravel and this was fine. Installation probably requires 2 people and takes about 1/2 a day at most. The instructions are reasonably clear. Please note that the plastic fit is not 100% all the time so occasionally need to bang it in with a hammer. But otherwise only the roof was challenging.
Sturdiness – it’s pretty good. However I would not recommend a massive amount of weight leaning on the walls (ie its fine to lean shovel brush etc, but perhaps not multiple heavy folded metal chairs). The walls are plastic and in some cases quite thin. And you can feel it bending a little with heavy weight. There are some tougher plastic parts where it might be able to cope with more weight, so be aware. Please note the roof is also pretty thin. It is screwed in, but don’t put anything on it. Doors are solid and good, as is it latch. Widow perhaps a little thin but frosted so can’t see through it.
Weatherproofing is good. It does not leak despite heavy rain. However please note that it is not exactly air tight. And there are gaps between joins in corners. Perhaps a little bit more than a wooden shed but not much worse. You will get the occasional spider and beetle able to get in. Although the shed is lightweight it’s done pretty well in the wind so quite happy with it.
My two neighbours have Keter shed bought over a year ago so I knew it was well recommended when I bought mine. It was easy to assemble one man job if you follow instructions can’t go wrong. Took about 3 hours to assemble looks sturdy and good. I didn’t give 5 star all the way not because of quality of product but because of not helpful measurements. It is advertised as 6ft by 6 ft. I prepared a well cemented base working on those measurements. When I checked the detailed discriptions the measurements in meters are more than 6×6. More like 6ft 4ins x 6ft 2…..Even though I had given myself extra 2 ins it was still a frustrating discovery. It would have been useful to advertise with 6ft 4x 6ft 2 because that is what the shed turned out to be. I had to make last minute adjustments to put things right. Otherwise a well recommended well worth it product.
Overall great product, sturdy and looks great in the garden. Initial construction is a little tricky but once that is complete the rest is a breeze. Also would be helpful to be clearer on the screw types to be used at each point, would be helpful to have each bag marked with the screw type so it is easier to identify against the installation instructions, but a small negative. The only other down side is the way it is delivered in two massive boxes that the delivery guys had a problem offloading from their truck, had to break down the boxes on the front lawn in order to move the parts to the back garden.
Ordered 9th June, but annoyingly didn’t arrive till 27th June, as went out of stock, so all the stuff from our dismantled wood shed, had to sit in the garden for 3 weeks & it rained heavily ! It came in 2 large, heavy boxes & delivery men would only take to front of house, so had to unpack each box and move items piece by piece into the back garden. The packaging itself was not great or strong enough & a few of the panels had slight damage, but were usable. Having ensured we had a level base of paving slabs, it took 2 of us 4 hours to erect the shed. Overall, we are very pleased with it & it interior space. Time will tell how robust it is.
Built this on a pro base plastic type base. Went up a charm, the large bespoke twist dowel fittings are really tricky to twist up as they are almost hard pressed against the walls, but a pair of pliers later they are all in good and solid. The singly column piece at the back must have been manufactured out of tolerance as it would not “click” into place and needed a bit of fiddling to work. Surprised at how sturdy it is once the roof is on which is difficult doing it solo, some parts you do need 2 people to ensure everything is flush and tight. All parts were supplied, labelling on the fittings was hit and miss. Although everything was flat and sound the doors went on a bit wonky and drag on the frame but its actually no major problem in the grand scheme of things. Would definitely buy again although it being a bit dear for what it is.
Review for the Keter 6×6 feet shed.
Easy to build for two people, took about 3 hours all in all. Once built it is quite sturdy for being just platic pieces fitting together with minimal bolting.
Fits at least 5 adult bicycles easily, don’t have to be put diagonally. I have 2 and then a bunch of other things.
Comes with a shelf.
Power drill highly recommended as has about 20 screws to install upwards to secure the roof.
Bolting to floor is optional and is the last step, but a level sturdy base is a must, as if it’s uneven then the whole thing will be misaligned and doors may not shut properly. It does come with a shed fooor that sits on whatever floor your installing it and holds the walls in place, but it’s just hard plastic. And not really to be placed on uneven grass or dirt.
If sunny, keep the parts in the shade (box closed) while assembling or they’ll probably get too hot to handle for assembling.
It has rained heavily and even hailed this past week it’s been up, and so far it has withstood it perfectly. Don’t expect any issues through winter, but we shall see.
Happy with the purchase as was quick to build, requires minimal maintenance, is sturdy enough and actually looks good.
Update Nov 2021: year and a half in. No maintenance on it, has maintained really well. Walls bulge and warp outwards a little bit only if something on the inside is leaned onto it. They come back to normal once sorted. It locks well with a simple combination lock. No water ingress or ice damage, no mold or other damp damage. Really good and still holding well after a year and a half with nil maintenance. Quite happy!
The ‘Keter Factor’ 6 x 4 comes in a large cardboard box that is about 7 x 5 x 2 feet deep. The parts are well protected and all the fixing bits like screws etc are all in a plastic bag.
Arrived on time,, luck for us it was a nice dry day with minimal wind. We had already prepared a concrete base due to our patio not being flat and it seems to be keeping everything above water so far.
My husband put it together by himself and it took about 2 hours start to finish. The base is plastic but it is strong enough to take all my husbands weights and bench as you can see on the photo. Instructions are clear and all parts were present. You need to give yourself plenty of room to work around the shed.
My husband didn’t use a Spirit Level however it is flat enough by eye that it isn’t moving at all. The sides still went together well one window (which can be used on either side) fitted well and looks good.
Roof went on fairly easily, I wouldnt like to try and do it on a windy day though!
In my opinion the shed is well made and looks much nicer and more modern than a wooden shed, and no rotting or painting!
We found one panel (the door) was bowed when it arrived but it doesn’t effect use. There is also a small mark on the corner panel, but otherwise defect free.
We haven’t had the shed very long but have had a lot of rain and wind since and it is perfect, no leaks and very sturdy. Very happy, thanks amazon for a great produce at the best price I could find on the Web!
Really happy with this shed, from delivery (came on the day we specified) to ease of construction, carried out by my partner with assistance from myself. Against advice, we completed this on a windy day, so it probably took longer than it should have, and there were a few hairy moment when we thought the whole thing was going to take off, but nevertheless the job was completed within a few hours. I’m sure it would have been easier without the wind! There was some damage to the ends of the roof panels, but we used them anyway, then negotiated the company’s website to report them. There was no feedback online, but some weeks later I got an e-mail to say that a replacement was on its way, so we will be able to swap the worst one – and we don’t have to send the damaged one back, thankfully!
The shed in use is great – there’s a clear panel in the centre of the roof, and a small window which are adequate for daytime, and it doesn’t get too hot, but it is used for storage so we’re not in there much. It holds everything I need it to – a lawnmower, various garden tools, folding chairs etc, bought a Garden 2 Shelf Tool Tidy by Garland to hold spades, fork etc.
It’s maybe not as attractive as a wooden one would have been, but I have plans to tart it up with string solar lights and a few plants, when I get round to it.
This is a very good shed. Although it has some flimsy panels once constructed it is reasonably sturdy. It is extreemly important that you prepare a level base as the shed does not have the structural strength to compensate for irregularities. It is relatively easy to assemble but two people are needed when it comes to fitting the roof. In my case we were hindered by the roof pieces that fit to the front and rear of the shed. I picked up the panels clearly marked ‘Roof front’ (RF2) and ‘Roof rear’ (RB2). After some time trying to understand how to fit the metal strengthener to the front and then being unable to fit the doors I checked the actual part codes moulded in the pieces only to find that despite the large stickers indicating front and rear both parts were rear! A call to Ketter (waiting 30 minutes in a queue) I was promised the dispatch of the correct part the next day. 30 minutes later Ketter called back to say the part was out of stock and would not be available for at least 20 days. I then called Amazon who agreed to send out another shed. This was received after 2 working days and I was able to swap the parts and complete the build.. The moral of the story is check all of the parts when you open the boxes against the moulding numbers and don’t rely on the labels stuck on by Ketter!
Great, solid, sturdy shed (so long as it’s erected properly!) I’d previously bought the Keter Gemini model in 2009 but had that one erected for me. I was impressed with that – very sturdy, good wide access with double doors opening fully. This is almost identical, except this one has the white (light-giving) strip across roof.
Despite following instructions well, we had 2 issues to sort: 1) the back panels/stancion and 2) the white roof strip. Hopefully, other customers will be more savvy.
1) Back panels. After slotting the 2 x SP’s [each half wall panel] and 1 x CS (stancion linking them) together, in bottom and side grooves, we found that we couldn’t get the exterior top edge of stancion to slot into exterior ‘pocket’ of RB3 properly, even though it fitted inside.Persevered but ended up sawing the panels and stancion down approx. 3/4″ for roof section (RB3) to connect/fit firmly/properly – BUT, though it shouldn’t be so, our stanchion DOESN’T, therefore, now slot in as it should on the outside! I’m sure other customers will get it right though!
2) White roof strip – GEB. We didn’t appreciate that, before fixing to front & back with the 2 screws each end, that we had to ensure that the one hole at each end of GEB had to ‘slot’ into each ‘peg’ on both RF3 & RB3 – to keep ends of roof panels (GET) flush with RF3/RB3 at the top [ensuring no rainwater can get into/sit inside the edges]. Look closely at pg. 15, stage 17, pic. 1.
Was a bit doubtful of the plastic construction but decided to buy it on the back of the good reviews. It came all nicely packed in two boxes. The assembly instructions are very good and clear. material are plastic and initially do not look very strong but when is all assembled and “puzzled” together it becomes quite sturdy. It also looks nice (it passed the ultimate “wife” test). It took me a while to get the ground leveled but it was time well invested and the floor sit quite nicely and is not that strong, so if it lacks support or is uneven I would expect it to crack… so be aware. It is better to assembly with two people although it might be possible to be done with one… I did not try it and I would think some parts might be very tricky to put together single handed, mainly when slotting the side walls and the roof panels in place. Door are easy to put together and works nicely. It comes with the option of two small / 1 full length shelve but they look plastic and not very strong so I passed on them and will buy a heavy duty set of shelves. Also it does not have any obvious way to fix hooks or fixing in case you want to hand stuff like garden tools in order to save space. So overall very pleased with the buy and would recommend.
The idea of having a virtually maintenance free shed with seemingly straight-forward self-assembly instructions was most appealing. The reality was largely as dreamed prior to purchase, however, there were several glitches in the instructions which caused unnecessary frustration at times. I reckon the international sales executives of companies that sell self-assembly items ought to be forced to give up a weekend prior to when they start to sell a new product, just trying to assemble the item and thus ironing out so unnecessary aspects & try to comprehend the challenge thrown their multi-national customers! There were several parts of the information where the diagrams were too small or rather inadequate in conveying adequate info, thus enabling straight-forward assembly. Several small parts were also missing from the package, but none that were absolutely crucial.Overall I’d give the instructions 7/10 and advise folks to view Youtube videos prior to the assembling. The completed project has given a capacious, well illuminated and sturdy shed which suggests it will provide good service for many years to come.I would grade the assembly aspect as 4 stars.
good looking shed once it was finished, put it together on my own, only real problem I had was with the roof, one side went in ok but no matter how hard I tried I just couldent get other side of roof on,every time I slid it along the groove it would pop out,got friend too help with that one bit, instructions are ok, tho I found it was easyer not too screw in the support beam for the roof until you have the two pieces of roof properly sitting in the grooves all in all a nice shed for the price and pretty sturdy once it was all screwed together, big downside was as someone stated before in a review they packed the base at bottom, prob so you have too empty everything out first to make sure you have all the main bits, had one washer and two screws missing, still waiting for them too be sent ,but found own screws and a washer for now
It arrived bang on time in two very heavy boxes which were strapped together – so watch out when you need to move them. I got the delivery men to place it in a convenient spot and then I unpacked them and transferred the contents to the back garden piece by piece – much better on the muscles!
It was a two-man job to assemble but the instructions were clear and it went together in about 30-mins. When completely assembled it became very sturdy and swallowed my garden equipment plus three bikes with ease. The opaque roof strip is a nice touch and adds extra light in. The two shelves supplies are useful but you will need additional free-standing shelves for more storage as you can’t seem to purchase additional fitted Keter shelving in the UK. Its nice and waterproof and the double doors are great for getting items in and out with ease. The sloping floor edge is great for wheeling in the lawnmower rather than having to hump it over a wooden door surround as I used to in the old shed.
It looks good in the garden and a far better storage solution than the old wooden shed (which is now on its way to the tip in bits).
So far I’m very happy with this purchase.
