These are very good quality knives made by Kitchenaid. They feel good when using them for cutting and slicing with a nice weight.
The set is excellent value for money considering the brand name. However I think it’s shame there isn’t a filleting knife, but a bread knife and a huge chefs knife. They are a little loose in the block and don’t line up because the slots are big for the knives. It is hard to use the sharpener but it does work well.
Knifes arrived today. Wooden block had a dent in it and one knife was scratched. Very well packaged so presumably was from the factory, Amazon gave me a discount so ended up keeping them. Very good knifes I must say
Knives are good and sharp I’d used these elsewhere which made me buy them. Handy built in sharpener and scissors, also love the steak knives, good value for money
I got these for Christmas and have used them constantly since. They are easy to hold not to heavy. The blade sharpener works brilliantly. I am very pleased with them.
Bought as a wedding gift and the couple are delighted with it.
Love our new Knife set. Had the right amount of knives and the all important ( for me) the built in sharpener. Good Price
Definitely worth every penny. Knives cut through everything with ease. Extremely well built same goes for the scissors.
The blades are razor sharp and instantly cut through meat and vegetables while preparing a stew or casserole. The knives themselves are very comfortable to hold and not overly heavy which is great, the block is also presented in a nice natural wood finish which looks modern and sleek in my kitchen.
Perfect for those who enjoy cooking 🙂
Really good knives but take extra care as they are extremely sharp. Cut two fingers in first week!!
Good set kitchen aid is a brand i trust for good quality products and here they deliver again nice set of knives and scissor in a nice compact holder looks great in my kitchen counter to . Very pleased .
I ordered these knifes as my current set have lost their edge, no longer sharp.
Branded KitchenAid packaging.
Like all Kitchen Aid products this knife set is well made and excellent quality.
6 standard knifes are very robust semi-polished blades, extremely Sharpe and each knife feels quite heavy. For me the heaviness is a positive but for an older person might be too heavy to handle.
Made from Japanese steel and will last forever, knife block has built in sharpener to keep knifes at premium condition.
Knife set alone is worth the money, good quality modern looking knifes.
Overall, Great brand and Great product. Knife for every cutting task in the kitchen, look stylish and modern and feel comfortable to use.
I would recommend this product.
Really nice knife and block set that comes with scissors, steak knives, a sharpener, and of course the knives, Japanese forged steel that can cut through anything with ease, are nice to hold, the block is solid wood, and the scissors are a really nice addition, no scrambling around in your draw for scissors, they’re are really big and sharp also. Recommended.
Knives come packaged very secure in a large box. The wooden stand is at the bottom and then a small separate box with the knives in it.
Each individual knife has a cardboard cover on the Sharp part and each knife is in a separate plastic pocket.
There is a pair of scissors, 6 small knives with a wrinkled edge, 1 small knife with a smooth edge, 2 large knives and 1 long and thin wrinkled edge knife.
The knives are of great quality and the block which the knives are kept in is strong sturdy and of great quality.
Excellent product.
A six piece knife set that has quality balanced among all components with a price that is indicative of that.
The knives are all well made and you are given five of them. You also get a pair of scissors and the wooden block with a built in sharpener. The built in sharpener is a nice quality of life feature but I prefer using the good ol’ whetstone.
In terms of size, the block thankfully doesn’t take up much real estate.
All in all, a good quality set of knives, pair of scissors, and a block to hold them in that’ll do good for general purpose kitchen use. Would recommend.
This set includes 11 piece kitchen knifes with sharpener. It has pretty much provided all the essentials in one sleek collection.
The wooden block provides a safe storage of all the pieces, really handy and convenient. They are not too heavy, well balanced, easy to handle, fit perfectly in my hand. Quite sharp, best get cut proof gloves, so mind your fingers! The shape of the knife can ensure effortless and easy usage, just beautifulI usually put them in the dishwasher after use, but I feel even if washing them with my own hands is also a pleasant thing to do.
I would say this is a jolly nice addition to the kitchen counter and will last for a long time.
I am a great fan of KitchenAid, from food processor, blender to kitchen utensils/accessories. This is the first time I have acquired a KitchenAid knife set and I am quite excited about this. The set included 11 pieces of the followings:
– 20cm chef knife
– 20cm bread knife
– 13cm santoku knife
– 9cm paring knife
– 6 x steak knives
– a pair of utility shears
– a birchwood block
The presentation in a birchwood block looks really elegant, neat and tidy. The block has an antislip design so it will not slide on the countertop. The knives are all made in high quality Japanese steel and have triple-riveted handles. They are ergonomic to use and need to apply less force than normal in order to cut. The knives and pair of shears are good to go into dishwasher top shelf although it is always best to hand wash then dry them immediately. I am happy with the set so far, a good additional to my KitchenAid collection.
I have been after a decent knife block for some time now, so when this came up I was delighted to try it out! The set consists of 11 knives and a knife sharpener incorporated into the block. Although 11 knives sound a lot, 6 of them are steak knives, which is a nice touch, but not something we’d make use of an awful lot. The other ones are a 20cm chef knife, 20cm bread knife, 13cm santoku knife, 9cm paring knife and a pair of scissors. I tried the knives out straight away and they are super sharp. Perfect! I love the fact this has an inbuilt sharpener too as it is so easy just to give the knives a few swipes to bring them back up to full wickedness again lol.
From the get-go, I could tell these were really good quality and they are now my first go-to knives when I am cooking. Once upon a time, I may have thought 119.99 was a lot to spend on a set of knives, but in all honesty, these represent brilliant value for money and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to friends and family. These deserve top marks – 5/5.
What a great set, looks great, Sharpe as you’d like and the perfect selection for home cooking all set in a stylish block with built in sharpener and shears too. The knives are comfortable to use.
KitchenAid is a quality brand and I have owned two of its kitchenware over the years. It is great to have this set joining them. I happily wrapped my old knives up the packaging these came with and sent them to a charity shop. It looks of great quality and nicely organized on the kitchen counter. The wooden block is heavy duty and sturdy. The knivies and scissors are a joy to use, sharp and comfortable to hold. There is a knife sharpener to be built into the block for convenient use. Highly recommended. And a great price!

KitchenAid high-carbon steel knife set with brich wood block-
Good:
1. The block is made from birch wood. It is very sturdy and solid. The bottom of the block is antislip.
2. 5 knives and one scissors come with the block. They can fulfill my daily cooking requirements: cutting meat, vegetables, herbs, fruits etc. They are expertly crafted, durable and sharp. They cut things neatly and quickly. The design of the handle is ergonomically triple-riveted, which makes it comfortable and stable to hold.
3. A built-in knife sharpener is a bonus. You can sharpen your knife whenever you feel the need to do so.
Bad: Some slots for holding the knives bigger than necessary, especially the one for the scissors. If you push the scissors further into the slot, you will struggle to get it out.
A great knife set regardless the minor issue with the size of the scissors’ slot.
This is a really impressive little knife block … the wood block (birch) is good and solid, with a comparatively small footprint, meaning it doesn’t take up much worktop space if, like me, you only have a small kitchen.
The knives themselves are excellent … well balanced (as I demonstrate with the bread knife, which I’d just used to cut a slice of banana loaf …) and a good weight in the hand. They’re well-made, easy to clean (no ridges where gunk can accumulate) and feel very comfortable in your hand. They are also extremely sharp.
While I like the addition of the built-in knife sharpener, decent quality knives like these mostly only need honing with a steel to keep them in top condition – so the sharpener should be used sparingly.
This is a good general-purpose set of five knives and a pair of kitchen scissors, which between them should handle all of the common kitchen jobs.
Recommended.
My husband loves this set and he’s a butcher and chef. First off this was packaged very well, no chance of cutting yourself accidentally while unboxing. This block is heavy, no chance of it falling over. Well made, very good quality. Comes with different knife, that are so sharp and feel good to use, they aren’t too heavy. Love that it comes with a knife sharpener on the block too, really handy. It’s a very smart set.
This is a great knife set and block for those that want value for money and willing to spend a little more for quality and longevity. On first glance it does seem like there a whole lot of knifes in the block, but half of them (6) are steak knifes, so not something you’d use frequently but very handy they could be stored in the block as they’re usually consigned to a blunt fate in the cutlery drawer. The rest should cover all sorts of food prep. The Chef Knife is quite large compared to what I’m used to and I have smaller hands, so would have preferred a smaller sized option for better control. As a result I was preferring the Santoku knife as an all rounder. The bread knife is on the smaller side, and included is a good paring knife. Lastly a pair of sharp serrated scissors is also included in the block. Out of the box they are all really sharp, and nice to handle and the block has a nice pale yellow oak colour to the wood. The handles are smooth; they can go in the dishwasher in the top rack but I think the texture of the handles will be affected by it and loose some colouring. It does recommend hand washing them which I think would be worth going the extra mile to keep them looking nice in the knife block. The block also has a convenient sharpener built in, but I think you’ll be treating the knives better in the long term using a wet sanding stone. The sharpener in the block is convenient but strips away material over time. A good set of starter knives for bigger hands if you put in the effort to look after them.
This set of knives includes a really sensible selection, making it ideal for a new home. It would make a great wedding gift.
The knives are good quality for the price. When you bear in mind that one reasonable quality chef’s knife can cost over 200, this set represents tremendous value, but you have to manage your expectations.
That said, there is little to complain about. The knives look nice and have great balance in the hand. They don’t have any silly etching or pretend to be ‘Damascus’ – just quality steel blades. They are sharp, and the block includes a sharpener to keep them that way. I do see a lot of reviews where people complain that their knives have dulled over time – well, yes. All knives do that. They are not magic. I think it’s a sensible move from KitchenAid to recognise that, and include a sharpener.
It’s also a sensible move to include a bread knife instead of the carving knife that appears in most sets. I might carve a roast two or three times a year, but I make toast every day, so I know which I would find more useful.
I also commend the addition of a 5″ Santoku knife. Usually a set like this has a smaller version of the big knife. Here we get a more versatile knife which is easier to control.
The large knife and paring knife are always useful, and a pair of shears rounds out the set – another unusual but mega-useful inclusion.
I do think it’s a bit odd to include six steak knives. This is clearly a starter set for people setting up a new kitchen or home. How often do new homeowners invite six people over for steak dinner? Still, they are good steak knives and a welcome addition to my kitchen.
Full marks for a great selection of tools, and great value.
This 6 piece kitchen block of scissors and Japanese style knives from kitchen aid is really good, with only a couple of minor niggles.
The most annoying for me is the wider bottom space for the scissors – it’s literally a rectangle hole cut into the birch holder, so the scissors don’t fit completely set into them and there’s a little bit more jiggle to them than I’d like. The knives spaces are completely fine thankfully, so it’s just a bit annoying to have it not sit completely set like the other pieces in the set.
From a quality point of view though, otherwise the birch block is incredibly quality with a surprising weight (it’s a lot lighter than I’d assumed!) to it. The knives are absolutely fantastic, all have a super sharp edge and can cut through anything very well. If you’re upgrading from lesser knives, it’ll really feel like you’ve unlocked some form of cheat mode to food prep, they certainly a good fit for any kitchen!
The stand is very light – so it’ll stand out a bit for any of us with darker kitchen tops. As this and the scissor holder are only very minor issues, im left very impressed with the set and can certainly recommend it overall.
This is a nice set of kitchen knives which is supplemented by the addition of six steak knives and a good pair of scissors. The knives arrive in a cardboard box together with the wooden block. Personally, I’ve never been a fan of knife blocks which as far as I can see are a breeding ground for bacteria, but this one does at least have the benefit of including a sharpener, albeit a basic one. My knives will live in the drawer with my other cutlery.
I’m not a cookery expert, but to me the knives feel nicely balanced with the centre of gravity around the join between the blade and handle; they are a good weight too — not too light but not overly heavy either.
The knives certainly look like they will last a long time, so should be seen more as an investment, in which case the asking price of 119.99 doesn’t seem too bad, particularly given the inclusion of the steak knives. They could have been more nicely packaged I suppose, but at least the plastic is kept to a minimum.
I haven’t found anything to dislike about this set and am happy to give it five stars.
Worth every penny, kitchen aid is always a name you can trust and they have done it again with this knife block, the blades are exceptional, glide through anything like butter, the handle weight is spot on, I have arthritis in my hands and wrists but I have absolutely no problem at all using these, excellent quality, scissors are top class and very easy to use, built in sharpener on the block is great, it’s very easy to just glide the knifes through, a great selection for numerous uses and the block itself is very good quality and sturdy with a finish that makes it waterproof so it’s suitable for any place in the kitchen, highly recommend well worth the price tag as will last for many years 5 stars
This set is an excellent set. There are all knife for any cooking need you have. All the different types of knives work well, I haven’t had any problems. Scissors are a constant use as well. The set has a high end look to it with the stainless steal and really looks great on the kitchen counter. Right out of the box, all of the knives were perfectly sharp and ready to use. I love that the knife block has a built in sharpener as well.
The box they arrive in is very good, you could easily give the entire set as a gift. Seems a shame to throw the box away, but they went straight into my existing knife block.
They are super sharp out of the box, sharpening is an absolute cinch in my current 3 piece sharpener – I just need to use the fine ceramic stone for the occasional touch up. The tang of the blade makes up most of the handle for a heavy weight & sturdy feel. The Damascus styling is just on the blade itself, not through the tang. The entire set does all my cooking needs.
The question is really – are they value for money? It’s not the cheapest set on the market and there is quite a bit of competition in this price bracket. I think so, the build quality is very good, they retain their edge with ease and the set will do most of your kitchen needs.
KitchenAid is such a luxury brand and these knives are no exception. A great block which has all you could possibly need from a knife set; including a sharpener! You really have a knife for every culinary use here and doesn’t take up too much room on the countertop. An amazing gift for anyone, it will truly be treasured for a lifetime!
I am exceptionally impressed with this knife set.
To cover what is in the set, it consists of a set of six steak knives, scissors, a bread knife, paring knife, chefs knife and a santoku knife, with a knife block with integrated sharpener.
When the item arrived, it was well packed with each blade in a cardboard sleeve and a plastic tip protector in place. The blades were extremely sharp out of the box, so please take care when unwrapping the items.
The steak knives feel solid and well balanced, serrated and extremely sharp . They appear to be a partial tang type.
The remaining knives are full tang, and feel really good to use, being solid, balanced and a nice weight. Even though I am rather limited in my culinary abilities, these knives will see a lot of use in my kitchen. The chefs knife and paring knife are great general purpose kitchen knives. The bread knife is brilliant and is rekindling my passion for uncut and speciality breads. The santoku knife was one I was unfamiliar with, but after using it it makes total sense. Although it lacks the point of the standard knives, it works brilliantly cutting with a more linear motion than a standard shaped knife that tends to cut with a rocking motion.
Overall, I think this is a fantastic set. knives look great in their block in the kitchen, and they do their jobs brilliantly when you need them, and its good that the set focusses on the useful knives in the kitchen, rather than trying to get as many knives as possible in a set. There is no doubt about it in my eyes, the knife set is extremely useful, geared towards being practical, looks great, feels great to use, and in my experience are the best knives I have used so far.
This is a super looking Birchwood block containing several knives, all of which serve a good purpose in the kitchen, there is, paring, bread, meat, vegetable and meat scissors, there is also a built in sharpener for the knives within the block, an excellent idea which is not in most blocks, also there are 6 steak knives, these are not going to get huge use in my home as we are vegetarian and don’t eat meat but they are still good to have. Im really impressed with it.. The knives came safely covered in cardboard and protectors so as not to injure when unwrapping, easy to put together and looks super smart on the kitchen side. Recommended.
This Kitchen Aid Forged Knife Set is so good looking!
The knives are mega-sharp and extremely well-made. The knife block is not just useful but very sturdy too.
There is just the right amount of knives for every job including a set of six steak knives that are very useful and again sturdy and sharp enough for steak. The handles are firm and look as though they will last.
I believe the price is about right for this excellent set of knives with a block and sharpener, worthy of 5 stars.
I have owned a couple of KitchenAid products for a few years and always found them to be high quality and very reliable. So when I saw this knife and block set I just had to give them a try. And I was not disappointed.
There are 11 pieces in this set plus the nicely made beechwood block with its integral knife sharpener. The set consists of one 20 cm Chef Knife, one 13 cm Santoku Knife, one 20 cm Bread Knife, a pair of utility shears, one 9 cm Paring Knife and 6 x11.5 cm Steak knives.
All are excellent quality and super sharp. I particularly like the handle construction with no gaps between the handle and blade which makes it much easier to keep the knives clean. They also have a really nice weight to them. They feel good in the hand.
The beechwood block is large and very solid. It won’t slide around on the worktop. Everything just shouts quality.
I have a feeling these knives will last for many years to come and are a worthwhile investment for anyone who loves cooking.
