Damage-free application

Work on finished or very sensitive surfaces (e.g. fittings in the bathroom) can be carried out damage-free.

Ratchet principle

The special stroke of the gripping jaws enables time-saving screwing according to the ratchet principle.

Fast push-button adjustment

Replaces a complete set of wrenches: It can be adjusted directly on the workpiece (up to 40 mm / 1 1/2 inch) using a push button.

Laser-cut size scale

The redesigned KNIPEX pliers wrench features two laser-cut scales: metric on the front, imperial on the back. This means that you can set the gripping capacity in advance for workpieces that are more difficult to reach.

    This arrived on time and in the correct packaging knipex uses (in a bag within a box). They are smooth to use and take a little getting used to the ratchet effect. You can align a triangular hole with different size markings (lasered onto the tool) to preset the jaws before clamping them onto a nut or bolt. The handles are very comfy to use. Overall, a nice addition to the toolkit.

    Superb pliers, great for gripping bolt heads and nuts. A bit like an adjustable spanner but they are a pair of pliers. The pliers have smooth jaws to minimise damage to delicate items. Really well made and should last a lifetime!

    This is now a mainstay of my tool kit , it was a little dearer than I’d have liked to pay but it has proven to be worth it.

    Grips well and can be used in confined spaces.

    Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI am absolutely blown away by the performance of my Knipex Pliers Wrench! This tool is truly a game-changer when it comes to gripping and tightening nuts and bolts. The unique design allows for a smooth and precise grip, without damaging the surface of the nut or bolt. The pliers wrench also allows for a greater degree of flexibility in tight spaces, making it an incredibly versatile tool to have in any toolkit.

    What I love most about this pliers wrench is the high-quality construction and durable materials. The chrome vanadium steel is incredibly strong and resistant to wear and tear, making this a long-lasting investment for any handyman or DIY enthusiast. The non-slip grip also adds an extra level of safety and control, ensuring that the pliers wrench won’t slip or cause any accidents while in use.

    Overall, I highly recommend the Knipex Pliers Wrench to anyone in need of a high-quality wrench. It’s definitely worth the investment, I can never go back to a standard ordinary adjustable wrench.

    These take some getting used to when adjusting the fit. But they are quality tools, and DONT damage the fittings like shifting spanners do.

    So no more rounded edges, or damaged chrome.

    And you can also get plastic covers for even more protection.

    I use knipex cobra grips all the time, but these have teeth on them and mark the fittings, these new grips however, don’t mark at all, they are brilliant and so good, I’m buying 2 more pairs, one for me and one for my apprentice. They take a little getting used to at first, but like any new tool, you get used to them

    Knipex make the best pliers by far, all of my pliers are Knipex. This particular type of pliers wasn’t as good as I thought they would be. My hands are a bit too small to utilise the “ratcheting” function. The jaws are good as they’re not serrated and don’t cause damage to the fitting

    These are quite a game changer when it comes to plumbing etc. Very easy to use and work much better than ordinary grips or an adjustable wrench. If you have both nearby when doing a job you always reach for these first. The ability to grip, turn, release, reposition and repeat all in one fluid motion is brilliant. Very well designed and made product used it for several quite tough jobs and no signs of failing yet.

    Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersKnipex make great pliers but they are expensive, so I thought about this purchase for a while before I finally bought them.

    I already have 250mm and 300mm water pump pliers and I wanted something a bit smaller to get into tight spaces. I was very surprised just how compact these pliers are, and initially thought they wouldn’t be up to the job. In use however they are brilliant, small enough to get in where other water pump pliers or grips can’t, but with a decent capacity – the 180mm model I bought fits a 40mm nut. Their strong grip allowed me to undo nuts I didn’t expect such a compact tool to manage.

    The size adjustment gives a range of about 6mm before you have to move to the next notch. It would be nice if this had a bit more movement but this would need a larger and more complex mechanism, so it’s a good compromise. Their construction means the harder you push on the handle, the tighter they grip the nut, and there’s no danger of their slipping. The parallel jaws are smooth and flat and don’t mar brass or chrome fittings, so much nicer than pipe grips.

    Adjusting the pliers to the required size is a little fiddly, but no more so than regular pipe grips or adjustable spanners. They don’t slip, keeping their size setting until you want to change. This is a real advantage over adjustable spanners that seem to need to be tightened constantly. You can also ease off on the handles and let them slip as you undo or tighten the nut, a bit like a ratchet spanner. This really speeds up working, especially if you can’t see what your doing.

    Although these are called ‘Pliers Wrench’ they are most useful as a truly useable adjustable spanner, that happens to be a good pair of pliers too. These have replaced a set of spanners in my tool box.

    The good
    * Compact
    * Good capacity
    * Smooth parallel action jaws

    The bad
    * Size markings hard to see
    * Adjustment range is a bit small

    Overall I’m really impressed with these pliers. They aren’t the cheapest around, but offer good value when you consider the cost and space savings you can make by not needing a full set of spanners. They are much better than water pump pliers and don’t cut up the work piece. Definitely recommended.

    They are a little pricey, and the mechanism takes a bit of getting used to,so I may have been a little harsh with the stars, because they are brilliant overall. Love how you can use the leverage they give to “parallel” grip things or crush them together. Nice ratchet style action and overall usability. They were a special treat to myself and worth it 🙂

    I use knipex tools at work, they are quality tools so when I bought this for myself my expectations were high. It did not disappoint, it is to the same high standard.
    Extremely easy to use, no slip in adjustment like other adjustable spanners, really nice to use. I haven’t used my old fixed spanners since I bought this!
    These aren’t cheap but they are worth every penny, great value for exceptional quality.

    Update – Still going strong! You might as well bin your other spanners, these things are ace.

    Really good quality, but a bit fiddly to use as getting the sizeing right is a pain. Works a treat on Chrome fittings as doesn’t mark them and gives great grip on other ones where it doesn’t matter due to the extra force it puts on due to its design.

    I don’t think Id use it for all fixings but it’s a handy tool to have, especially for Chrome fittings

    Maybe a bit over priced is all I can say to it though

    Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe cost of these may well put you off, but they are worth every penny. As the picture shows, I’ve still got pliers too, as well as adjustable wrenches, but other than needlenose work, these will replace the lot if needed. Strong – in fact a much stronger grip than I was expecting – precise and solid quality. I use them around the house and for servicing mountain bikes – they’re fantastic when stripping down suspension forks, where cheaper tools risk rounding bolts that are expensive to replace.

    Very expensive, but you get what you pay for. A brilliant tool that almost replaces a complete set of spanners. The fact that the jaws operate in parallel means that you can use these on chrome plated radiator fittings without leaving any marks. The clever design means that if you get the slide adjustment right, you can develop a ratchet action when tightening/loosening smaller nuts/bolts provided your hand span allows the tool to open sufficiently. So good that I bought the 125mm version (86 03 125) for smaller work. I will also buy the 250mm version and stop carrying spanners.

    Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersExpensive and worth it! I’ve carried adjustable’s for years in the Navy and Off-shore oil industry and still do (Irega are the best now in my opinion) but now I also carry a Knipex for general use. I have used mine for a couple of years of hard use and it is showing only a little wear and tear. The tool is engineered really well and is built to a high standard. The main advantage of a Knipex is the action of turning also compresses the jaws and squeezes tightly on the nut. This is incredibly useful when working with older/rusted/damaged equipment. I highly recommend this tool!

    Update: two more years of offshore work and still in top condition, excellent quality!

    I love these Pliers. What i like most about them is that they come with smooth jaws instead of teeth, This means that you can tighten or remove things without chewing them up. Another great feature is that to adjust the wrench you have to press a spring loaded button in and then adjust it. The price also was excellent a local tool supplier was selling this at more than double the cost of Amazon. I would recommend this tool. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000U3LRZE/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0

    Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersI use tools all day everyday in my profession, and for years have used 3 different Bahco adjustable spanners for different size jobs. This tool is a lot faster and easier to use than my trusty bahcos. I was very impressed with how fast and easy this tool makes plumbing work in awkward places as you can ratchet the tool without loosing your grip. EG under a sink where you cant quite get to the nut you need to loosen. Well worth the money and I will be buying the full set very soon. Buy them you will not be disappointed.
    cant believe I’ve lived without them for so long.

    Golden Review Award: 22 From Our UsersThis is the first product I’ve ever gone back and reviewed months after the purchase.
    It is so wonderful to use that I had to add my weight to the praise.
    They seem to come in three sizes, with jaws that span 25mm, 40mm and 60mm. I don’t have the 60mm version, but I’m looking forward to having an excuse to buy them.
    Every job that involves these will be more pleasurable.
    One thing to be aware of: The jaws are smooth, so less useful if you’re trying to grip round stuff, like pipework.
    I’ve added a photo of my 40mm ones, so you can marvel at how beautiful they are…
