I was able to figure out about 90% of how to work with the NTS-2 on my own. I had thought the book would also serve as a kind of “user’s manual” for the NTS-2, but I ended up finding more information online, including Korg’s web site, to clear up a few details that the NTS-2 instruction sheet didn’t explain very clearly.

With that said, the book itself IS very informative, I enjoyed reading it and *did* learn a few things from it. It just … isn’t the manual for the NTS-2 is all.

First, Korg has really nailed it with this one. An oscilloscope is an essential tool for the modular musician that will help you visually understand the cause and effect of your wiggling. Whether you are a pro or just starting out into this beautiful land of mystery, using one of these will exponentially increase your insights into your own sonic art with every patch. Also, it doesn’t take up room in the rack!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersIt’s expensive isn’t it!
Let’s face it, you can get a much more featured, proper high frequency oscilloscope for not much more than this.
This is for audio rates and DC, not high frequency signals.
The build is very easy. The only slightly daunting issue being the bending of the PCBs to snap them into their individual pieces.
It took me around 15 mins to assemble, complete with the nice stand in place.
The screen is lovely. Much better and finer detailed than the cheap ‘oscilloscopes’ you can get for around 30.
I bought this to go with my eurorack kit and it’s great for that purpose. CV signals, audio signals and tuning!
I love that it can be battery powered.
My only gripe is that, for this money, Korg should supply the splitter cables to enable 4 mono, rather than the 2 stereo signals to be inputted and outputted.
They supply a rather meagre stereo 3.5mm jack to jack cable, which is not really much use.
So you have to fork out for 4 splitter (TRS to twin TR) to properly have 4 inputs and outputs.
For the inflated price, I think Korg should supply these as standard.
The book is OK but rather simplistic, so I’d rather not have it to be honest.
Perhaps newbies will get something from the book.
I gather from certain forums that this combo – oscilloscope and book – is in short supply and a potential collectors item. Well I’m not sure I believe that, given the stock levels I’ve seen!
Overall I’d say this is a great scope for eurorack use, but way overpriced.
Even taking into account the included book, the price is inflated.
But it is a lovely thing!
Perhaps wait until they supply just the scope without the unnecessary book?!
Maybe it will then be a more realistic price??

About a year ago I watched a review on this kit. I knew I wanted it so I finally got it this month. The assembly is pretty straight forward and I got it ready in 15 minutes. This little device provides multiple functions for its package. I really enjoy that I can hook my iConnectivity AUDIO4c and can monitor its 4 outputs simultaneously. On the picture provided you can see the blue and yellow signals come from two different vst instruments on Ableton; the green signal is from Korg NTS-1 and the purple signal from the Animoog app on iOS. For any audio enthusiast who is looking for an oscilloscope, I do recommend it. It’s truly worth it!
