Saved me couple of hundred pound, to clear a sewer blockage. I will say if you are going to do pipe work, as I did buy a face guard and long gloves at the same time.
We have a drain that runs under our house which has always been a nightmare to maintain. It’s on a shallow gradient, runs approx. 10m under the house with bends, and has access at only the lower end within a manhole on the drive. This Karcher pipe cleaning device is incredible and has made unblocking this drain and jetting this drain an absolute breeze. I never usually leave reviews but this tool is just incredible!
It took a while to get the hang of the gutter clearing tool, but when I got it to work, it worked well. The long hose is useful for clearing accumulated leaves in underground culverts
for several years I had constant problems with a blocked down pipe and couldn’t get to the bottom of it. I cut a hole in the pipe and used the pipe cleaning hose to push us the pipe to the 2nd floor, after a bit of jiggling, and pushing out came an old paint brush!
Tip to those doing this sort of thing, make sure you have a way of catching the blockage as it falls to stop It blocking further down, I used a small off cut of pipe to stop big items falling all the way into the sewer.
Any how, the upshot is it saved me another call out for someone to get up the ladder and scratch their head.
Used in conjunction with a pressure wash of the same make i found the drain cleaner work great as it should do but i could not get on with gutter function at all,
Very sturdy seemly well made
Bought this to help with clearing an old soak away drain. I have also used this to check my main drains, no complaints.
We had a blocked drainpipe which had to 90 degree bends in. This addition to the Karcher made light work of the blockage and now water goes down the pipes and doesn’t overflow down the house sounding like a river.
The pipe cleaning tool is very effective and easy to use; used twice so far. It takes some time to set up, especially rolling it out but it’s worth the effort and very quickly cleaned my waste pipes. I watched a YouTube video before using it which gave 2 handy tips (1) prepare a bucket of diluted bleach before you do any work so that it is ready to clean all your tools and gloves when you finish and (2) tape the trigger gun and use the on off switch on your Karcher for power so that you have both hands available to feed the pipe cleaner into the pipe.
The gutter tool is not very effective. It barely fits my gutters, sends mess all over the place and is more hassle than cleaning it by hand and then clearing the pipe with the main pipe cleaner. That said, I’ve used the ‘sieve’ to block the down pipe when hand clearing the gutters which avoids any debris going down the pipe; so that accessory is still useful.
One star deducted due to the gutter accessory. Also, I think the design of the jets could be improved either by having a forward facing jet, as this might more directly clear a blockage, or by mounting it on a swivelling head so that the jets would spin and better clean all sides of the pipe.
Excellent equipment, easy to use though not yet tried the gutter attachment, only wanted the long hose for pipe cleaning. 5 stars
Fantastic piece of kit, saved me 100+ on drain jetting. Took about 3 hours to clear 15m of badly blocked soil pipe and the sink now drains like never before.
Bought for the drain clearance system, does what it says on the box, happy with that. The gutter cleaner is a little flawed as all gutters are not uniform with the same access.
This is a very well made product. However, the gutter cleaning attachment may well not fit into a UK gutter system especially if the gutter is close to the tiles. It is really designed for square guttering.
WIll be using this in the summer. I’ll update the review then. Being a Karcher, it should be good.
I haven’t used this yet as I am waiting to the better weather. My main concern from looking at it is that it may not pass under the securing clips of the spouting.
I had to make use of the drain/sewer cleaning hose pipe today down a small rain water drain which was completely blocked by some foreign material, possibly sand or gravel, and it cleared the blockage in a few minutes. I had feared a major job of having to dig up and replace the blocked pipe. A wonderful product which I can recommend.
So easy to use and cleaned the drains in no time which last time cost me 100 to get a company to do them so I’ve saved on that cost already
This paid for itself in one use. Our kitchen drain regularly blocks up. This and a Karcher K2 was what I needed to break up the clog and clean out the dirt in the pipe. Brilliant. Wouldn’t be without it.
I bought this drain pipe cleaner as I saw one being used by DynoRod many years ago when we had a blockage. This has saved me a fortune on calling out a plumber as it was able to whizz down the drains and unblock the pipe. I expect I’ll only ever use it once, but it’s already paid for itself so highly recommended!
Bought this as a drain cleaner because the brass tip on the Karcher drain cleaner is wearing out and this is cheaper to replace then another drain cleaner. Also it appead the tip on this gutter cleaner could be unscrewed to be replaced with a new one come the time when it is worn whereas the drain cleaner tip is sealed onto the hose.
Don’t trust the photos from Karcher however, you would still need to get onto ladder so as to clip the device onto the gutter, somewhere along the gutter. Another observation is that the “mouse” until is too bulky because modern plastic guttering tend to be shallow, at least mine are; which means I would still have to get onto a ladder all along the gutter runs to remove the leave protection off the gutter to use this device. Just as well it wasn’t bought for this purpose.
Double check all your gutters are wide enough to fit the sled . If your gutters are standard 100mm it doesnt mean it will work as how they are fit varies the actual width the sled can move along .
Bought to power wash my drains not my gutters.
Due to the oddly shaped gutters the shuttle can’t move if it’s placed into them to wash out the gutter, but it’s other ability of being able to be inserted into the underground pipework makes up for it.
I am living at the edge of the green belt, dry summer’s and the windy conditions mean loose soil and other debris gets deposited onto my roof, the rain will then wash it down into the drains slowing the transit of surface water away from my property.
Commercial specialists charge a fortune to come and do what this does, yet it cost me the equivalent of a single visit and I have the ability to get it done many times over.
I used drain cleaning kit with my new Karcher K2 Full control power washer to open my blocked drain. The result was perfect. The pressure was high enough even with 26m hose length (20m kit + 6m K2 hose). No need to spend the same cost for plumbing services.
Didn’t try gutter kit yet…
Bought this a last-gasp effort to resuscitate a blocked up soak-away. Haven’t used the gutter cleaning bits but the drain cleaner has effectively cleared gallons of sludge blocking the septic tank soak-away saving me thousands of pounds digging a new one. Has a good long reach and worked a dream with my K4 machine.
Saves an absolute King’s ransom on the costs of drain cleaning extortionists. Even when you factor in the cost of a pressure sprayer. First use of this was to help out a woman who had just purchased a new house in a development. She had been battling with the builders to have the problem of a blocked drain rectified for nearly a year when I intervened. An hour and the effluent was flowing away faster than it had been since she took possession. She thanked me profusely and then immediately used her cell to buy one of these kits and a pressure washer.
I find this much easier to use than the chimney sweeping rods I had used for decades..
Use of the gutter attachment results in less ladder work. Highly recommended
I have a 15 meter long 30cm-wide box-gutter between house and conservatory – it fills with leaves in autumn and then has a tendency to overflow into the building. This makes clearing it easy, and almost fun. However it needs two people, one to use the trigger, and the other to manipulate the pipe and nozzle-block. Used with a K4.
Saved soooo much money buying this to clean out the blocked drain at home. Works well, not a one shove and your are fixed thing, but it pushes itself down the drain and by jiggling it to work the blockage it works very well. If you are trying to decide if you need the longer or shorter versions of this, I would say buy this 20m version. Better to have too long a length, than you can’t reach the blockage. I was starting to worry myself when I only had about 3m left but then I got the drain cleared.
Drain rod worked a treat pulling its way by its self through the drain. The gutter attachment was disappointing, trying to hold the gun and feed the tube up the gutter was interesting. My gutter on my bungalow are a bit high to the tiles and it just got stuck.. Shame. It does seem you need three pairs of hands to clean drains and gutter and i am a builder.
Never knew these existed until I was searching for a solution to unblock the waste pipe between the kitchen sink/dishwasher and the outside inspection hole; about 8 meter run. This worked out cheaper than a 15m hose plus it came with the gutter attachment. No brainer really but I thought the gutter thing would be a gimmick and any way probably wouldnt fit my Greek guttering. With my K2 pressure washer (the baby of the range) I managed to clear a solid block of hard lard type material from the middle of the pipe and get it all flowing sweet again so paid for itself right there! Thought I’d give the gutters a go as they get jammed solid with the needles from the over-hanging Pine trees. It’s so long since I last tried to clear what I can reach they were like window boxes ready for planting. This was always going to be a gamble because of the aluminium gutter’s decorative profile and the fact there are supporting ribs across the top that the shuttle needs to pass under. I could just lever the shuttle in at one end and slowly worked it along the gutters. To my amazment it worked and I only had to restep the ladder and clear any blockages that got pushed ahead and jammed under one or two of the support ribs. With the needles, sludge and rubble blasted out, the shuttle easily passed back and forth and for the first time ever I have clear gutters. Bit of advice. You should seriously consider face protection or at least eye protection and although possible on your own it is much easier with two people.
I was suprised and impressed with this cleaning kit; it definitely beats working along the gutter inch by inch with a stick and a brush. From now on I should be able to do the whole lot from two easily reached access points.
A Purchase worth every penny! I had a blocked up loo and after getting quotes, I wasn’t going to pay 150 for someone to unblock it! So I went and purchased this kit and after a little bit of practice, resolved my problem with little stress. Not only did it help resolve the problem, it cleaned my loo and the drainage further down too! I’ve used this tool for all my pipework now, including the drainage behind the washing machine and tumble dryer!
What can I say? It’s now sitting in its box ready for summer to come so I can go and do the drainage outside too!
Great product and shockingly useful for more than 1 function!
This product is good for cleaning gutters provided that the gutters are not excessively dirty!
My gutters were blocked with the usual grit and sludge (where does it all come from?) which had become somewhat solidified with moss growing on it. When I tried to use the Karcher gutter cleaning kit firstly the cleaning sled (which incorperates the water jets) kept turing over so that dirty water was sprayed upwards rather than down the gutter. Secondly because of the amount of dirt in the gutter there was a lot of overflow over the gutter sides such that the guttering and soffits were filthy and themselves needed cleaning.
Having done this once (and ended up with very clean gutters) I will be repeating the excersice regularly to prevent excessive buildup of dirt.
Terrific…great fun…and it works! Believe it or not, I actually acquired this kit to deal with our gutters. Every year I risk life and limb trying to clean the gutters of our house…and it’s so boring. But now I have this brilliant bit of Karcher kit, the whole chore becomes a pleasure. Note:- you do have to be a little careful when activating the gutter cleaning sled…the hose pressure on mine resembled Lewis Hamilton in his Mercedes, and the sled shot down the gutter at the speed of light and disappeared into a nearby tree! Recommended.
Generous length of pressure piping provided, easy to attach to the lance. For the gutter accessory, different coloured jets were provide d ( for reasons I forget) and these were fiddly to attach to the sled. the clamp is attached to the guttering so that the pipe is guided along the gutter through runners. The sled ran along the gutter so fast it collided with the gutter end stop and both landed next door!
The drain cleaner is a must if you struggle with blockages. I won’t throw away my rods but I probably won’t need them unless tree roots are the culprit.
