So many scooters are small/short even for kids. I was so impressed by the quality and larger wheel size of this scooter. My 8 year old son loves it. His old scooter was too close to the ground and the handlebars were getting too short already. This scooter is really fast, smooth and the foot platform is nice and wide for his feet to rest comfortably. Love the kickstand too.
We have purchased several scooters from LaScoota and our kids (2 years old to teens) have enjoyed them. They are smooth and innovative. I look forward to seeing their future designs!
Easy ride; great flow. I love four blocks from the beach and it gets me there quickly!
I use this scooter to get me around my college campus and I have to say, it’s better than any Razor scooter I’ve used in the past. It’s very smooth and easy to fold up. The instructions after unboxing it were easy.
Really like this scooter, easy to assemble and durable – the quality is great. Use this in NYC to get around and have no issues on some pretty rough roads.
When researching for scooters this one came up at being good for 8 yrs and up, I received a message from Lascoota and they stated if was from ages 12 and up. My granddaughter is 8 and she tried it out and it’s fine. Arrived in perfect condition, easy to set up
Very sturdy and well made. Got it for my 9 yoa son, who can tear up about anything. He has been happily riding it everyday with no broken parts. He recommends it.
I’m revising my review!
My neighbor used a tap and die set to re-thread the ruined nut. He pointed out that the plastic insert was made to just pull out. I wish the instructions had made that clear. When I pulled gently, nothing happened and I jumped to the wrong conclusion.
The scooter easily folds and unfolds and is lightweight, just what I wanted, but I was surprised at how rough the ride was. There’s also a strange clicking sound every so often. I’ll keep it and see how long it lasts.

I’m not a teen, I’m a woman who has used tools before.
Seller: This message is for you.
The scooter arrived the evening of 4/21/23. It looked good and was light enough for me to remove from the outer box and easily move around. The next day I took it out of the plastic bag and re-read the instructions. They guided me in how to unfold the front wheel — so far, so good! But then the problem began.
Step 3 says to undo the handle clamp. Step 4 says to remove the plastic insert. But the insert is fastened in by a screw. The step 3 photo shows an arm up above, so I assumed that something on top had to be turned. Besides the clamp that could be released but not rotated, there’s a hole smaller than any of the tools that came with the scooter.
When I looked at the scooter from the front, I saw the nut on the bottom of the screw. I tried turning it by hand, but it would turn only so far. One of the L-wrenches was the right size but was awkward to use in the small space. I figured out I needed to pull the stem higher to make room to get the tool into the end of the nut. But by then the nut was jammed and wouldn’t turn at all. So I can’t remove the plastic insert, which means I can’t insert the handlebar grips.
All I want is for you to send me a new screw and nut, which are probably made especially for the LaScoota. I’ll need someone’s help where I live to forcibly remove the jammed nut, which will ruin it and maybe ruin the end of the long screw also. So please, send me those two parts or advise me otherwise on what to do.
Thanks in advance for your assistance. I look forward to praising you for your easily unfoldable product and your customer service.
We received it timely and my daughter loves it. She was on it from the time she got home from school till dark! She is 10 and we set the handles at almost the lowest setting. Is perfect.
Belle machine bien finie, le gamin est ravi car elle roule bien et semble solide ! Je valide !
I got this scooter for my 8 year old. It was easy to assemble, he loves scooting around the park with it, it folds nicely and fits in the car boot which is very ideal, even the handles are foldable! Sturdy scooter, but only downfall is that the kickstand string fell off so had to tie it up with a string
Our daughter is very happy, lovely bright colours. Easy to set up, and the let down button is so much easier then the standard release clip
I bought this scooter for my son in Jan 2023. By March 2023 the scooter was broken (the front wheel, spring etc. came off). He has used it not more than 10 times. Very disappointed with the purchase. Have raised the issue with the seller and waiting for resolution. Would not recommend this product. We’ve had scooters less expensive than this and lasted years.
I’m writing this review on April 7th 2023. Had a very good experience with the customer support team. They were very prompt and replaced my scooter with a new one. Hope the new scooter would last long.
Works for my short 6 and 10 year olds. Both are small for their age. For my 6 year old, I push the handle all the way down below the bottom lock-notch, and lock it in hard since it’s not in a lock-notch. For my 10 year old I use the lowest of the 3 lock notches. For an adult, one of the upper 2 lock notches works great.
Really nice scooter. Very impressed. It fits me perfectly as an adult, as well as the 6 and 9 year old. Folds very compactly and the handles pop out too. Very impressed! I haven’t tried, but it may even be small enough to put into a full-size suit case to fly with it and use for commuting on business trips. I may buy myself one for just that purpose.
I just have to say, this kick scooter is an absolute game-changer for anyone looking for a lightweight, comfortable, and compact way to get around. I’ve been using it for a while now, and I am really impressed with its overall performance.
First of all, it’s incredibly lightweight, which means that I can easily carry it around wherever I go. Whether I’m commuting to work or just running errands around town, this scooter is always by my side.
What’s more, it’s super comfortable to ride. The handlebars are just the right height, the deck is wide enough to keep my feet comfortable, and the wheels are big enough to absorb any bumps or shocks on the road. I can ride this thing for hours without any discomfort.
And let’s not forget about how compact it is. When I’m not using it, I can easily fold it up and stash it in a backpack or under my desk. It takes up hardly any space at all, which is a huge plus for anyone living in a small apartment or working in a crowded office.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this kick scooter to anyone looking for a convenient and easy way to get around. It’s the perfect combination of lightweight, comfortable, and compact, and I think it’s definitely worth checking out!
So I bought the scooter so I could ride along with my son. I did buy the teen scooter as I am only 5’4″. This scooter is solid. Nothing rattles as you ride. I weigh 220 pounds and it seems to carry my weight perfectly. I went thoroughly through each bolt to make sure it was nice and tight. And they were. I gave this scooter a 5 out 5 stars. It’s a very nice scooter beautiful colors very well-built. I do recommend for you to buy this.
My grandson loves this. Easy to carry and very well made
Bought this for Christmas for my 11 year old special needs son. He loves it, put it together by himself and rides it everywhere. It’s durable and so far scratch proof. My 14 year old (6’1″, 225lb) rides it with ease too. Overall the best scooter I’ve ever purchased. Owners sent an email asking if everything was to my liking and to let them know if it wasn’t. If I ever have to purchase another scooter, it will be this company
Super easy set up and easily foldable for throwing in the car!
I bought this for a Christmas present for my 14 year old son! He loves this scooter! I even rode it & tested it out myself! It’s very sturdy! The scooter runs very smooth & fast! It came already assembled.
This was Christmas gift for my 9 year old daughter. She love it!! I will get back with more revews after she will use it. But so far everything looks great!
Brought this for my daughter for Christmas and she loves it. Perfect size she’s very tall for her age and other scooters i bought was too small i even rode it we like i
So the pictures I have provided are after a months use of my LaScoota. It rolls well and it’s fun for everyday play with the kids. It did start making a squeak noise after the first week. I must say, it’s a great purchase for the the price just wish it were holding together better from a cosmetic standpoint.
We live in an RV resort. Bought 2 for our grandkids ages 4-13. They all ride them. Even the adults enjoyed riding them as well. Super easy to assemble and just as easy to fold. Rode them around the entire resort. Definitely buying another one
Very nice scooter I love it. It gets me around my college campus.
Easy to assemble. Good quality. My 7 year old kid loves it. He can use it easily use this for next 4-5 years. But slightly heavy for his age though. Overall, very happy with the purchase.
Bought for my sons birthday. Scooter was super simple to set up. Perfect size for my larger 10 yr old. Smooth ride, handles bumps well, great brakes. Folds up easy. Love the carry strap.
We would like to get 2 more for myself and teen daughter to take on bike trails.
Had a Xooter before. This one’s much better built and reliable.
This scooter feels pretty solid. The wheels are a very good size. The deck is as wide as it can be without interfering too much with the leaning when turning. The handle bars grips feel great and solid not jingly.
The front wheel has a spring inside to make a softer ride of bumpy places.
The rear break is as big as you could want. And looks pretty strong.
The only CON is the folding hinge has play so you can wiggle the handle bar forward and back.
But this quality seems to be a trait of folding scooters.
Over it looks and feels like a great folding scooter.
Let me just say that at the list price, I think this scooter is wildly over priced for a child (or for anyone, but if you use this for commuting and you love it then awesome!). However, we had an 80% off deal and did purchase it for our daughter. It’s well made, rides very smooth and will grow with her. My husband and I even scoot up and down the street on it occasionally. Highly recommend IF you get it on sale. Otherwise, bide your time.
This is a great product for children above 8 years old because you do need to control the scooter. My children love 2 wheel scooters more than 3 wheel scooters. The QR code in the package does not work to get the advertised free scooter lock. I ask the seller to send me the free scooter lock as advertised.
**edited to update** The inner packaging of the scooter came with an advertisement for for a free light attachment (with a positive review of course). The company is now claiming that we didn’t buy their scooter and is denying the free gift. Is it the end of the world? No, but I won’t praise a company that has bad business practices. I value honesty and won’t give this company my business again.
My daughter decided that she wanted a scooter and saved up her money to find one that fit her tall tween self. When it came, it was everything that she wanted. She rolls around town effortlessly and loves that it will grow with her. I love that it folds somewhat easily and doesn’t take up a ton of space in my garage.
Bought this for my kids. I had seen too many cases of people crashing on the scooters with tiny wheels so I opted to get them ones with the larger wheels. It’s been a few months now and they have held up well. Nothing has broken even with a few crashes. I did have an instance where one of them didn’t latch the quick release down all the way and it rattled lose and came off and I lost one of the pieces, but that was a mistake on our end. I was able to replace it with something I had at home so it was of little impact in the end.
My 11 year-old-son wanted a new scooter for Christmas. Although he was eager to get a scooter with LED lights he saw at a store, I was able to talk some sense into him (not an easy feat) and suggested we look for a scooter he can grow with as he gets into his teens. This was the best review scooter for that category (12 years and older). The assembly was minimal as the scooter is pretty much ready to be used out of the box. The size is perfect and now he is ready to put it to the test. Will update the review with my son’s impressions of the scooter. Can’t really say much for commuting since this will be used for recreational purposes only.
I am giving the product itself 4 stars. I like that it has a kickstand, but it is difficult to pop out with a single foot (let alone a 9 yr old to try it). My disappoint comes from the company advertising and product insert. The scooter advertises a brake light which even came with instructions to install but we could not find it in the packaging. After contacting the company, they told me that it is a separate purchase? Also, they advertise a bonus gift of a free scooter lock. I tried scanning the barcode to get the lock and it is inactive. Whatever.
You can’t go extremely fast on this scooter. I would say a bit faster than speed walking. For my use, it is perfect. I bought the adult/kid version. I am 5’3 and 100 pounds. With this, I bought a dog leash that can go around my waist for my 13 pound dog. He isn’t extremely fast so the speed this scooter goes seems to be perfect. He can also pull me on this scooter which is another benefit. The bending feature of the red button is extremely difficult to push. So, that’s one negative. I also found the scooter doesn’t sit upright when folded but it’s a good feature if you are taking on car rides or storing away for the winter. I am a little worried about how quickly these tires will wear out. It can handle a little bit of rocks but I would stick with smooth services. It’s a good buy though. Let’s you feel like a kid again. I recommend it.
I’ve been looking for a replacement scooter for on-foot traveling around the city. I usually bring my scooter in the car when I know I’ll be walking/wandering around a while. I’ll park the car then scooter around for the rest of the day.
I bought this scooter to replace my old one, and I’m quite happy with the purchase. It’s durable, I like the color, and, while it’s a bit heavier than my previous one, the size and solid construction of the wheels and frame justify the weight; I’m not very bothered by a little extra weight lifting. The carrying strap does help out a bit, but I might fashion a shoulder pad for the strap if I plan to haul this scooter around of long periods of time.
I bought this to ride along with my daughter, who is learning how to use a skateboard. The product arrived in the box with a few simple instructions of how to fold and unfold – it was done with ease. I love the color and the look of the scooter, and when I took it out to ride it I was thoroughly impressed with how well it rode. The bigger wheels make for a very smooth cruise. I would have never guessed I would’ve gotten such joy from scooting around; it reminded me of when I was younger.I have no shame in being an adult on a scooter it was a great workout and I look forward to using it with my daughter as she learns how to skate as well.
Scooter is sturdy and built solidly. Adjustable steer height fits adults and children alike.
Some reviews mention rattling steer. That can be addressed. There’s a quick release on top of the steering column that clamps down on the detachable steering handles. This clamp needs to be fairly tight to clamp down on both the detachable steering handles so that they don’t rattle. If you can’t get it tight enough you could try a thin piece of tape to thicken the steering handle insert just a little for better clamping.
Always double check the steering column hinge is latched completely on both sides of the scooter when unfolding the scooter. A little additional caution here goes a long way towards your safety while riding. This goes for any scooter. Not just this one.
Overall quite pleased. I received a free gift in exchange for an honest review. Will update if my assessment changes.
Christmas morning, I won, I had the biggest present under (actually beside) the tree; it’s about time, this old girl works hard around here. After a flurry of paper, I assemble my new whip – that nine-year-old won’t me leaving me in the dust on our way to school anymore.
Outside was a mess, fog, cold, but I put my LaScoota through the paces. A zig to the right, a zag to the left, I could feel it, the air warmed and sun shone down on my rosy cheeks. I was alive and free, nothing but the purr of new wheels on tarmac. All of this was of course shattered when my daughter flagged me down and swiped my new ride. “Oh, look at me mom”, bah, it should be me out there. There are no witnesses, so I’m soon back at the helm and thinking I should put some distance between me and Santa’s-little-helper.
This is the good life.
I was looking for a cheap, entry-level scooter to try out before I switched to a fancy one. I am 5’4″ with a size 7.5 shoe, around 145 lbs, current vanity-size adjusted dress size 4.
This one was cheaper than the Razor A5 and seemed to have a more loyal fanbase with similar features and quality.
I was going to just buy it in silver, but ended up waiting. I’m glad I did, because within a week or two, the black and red became available. I wanted the black and red so I could pair it with a black and red bike helmet. So, if they don’t have the colors you want, for better or worse, you may be able to wait and see if they become available. Or you could ask.
The ride itself is very bumpy. I do not recommend this product if you have bad knees. I do not have bad knees. After about four hours of riding around, my legs were a bit sore. But I stayed hydrated enough to not cramp. Another reviewer mentioned that it’s like doing a one-legged squat for quite some time. I was able to adjust my foot positioning over time to where I could put one put behind the other. There isn’t enough room for my feet side-by-side, but at an angle, one can be behind the other. But while riding it, would naturally not put my foot behind the other unless riding downhill. So, yes, my leg did get a little sore from the one-legged. But it was totally worth it. And I was able to adjust easily enough between riding with my left side or right side facing forward, although I hear folks naturally have a dominant preference. I say adjust at stop lights or every quarter mile or so to prevent getting a cramp or something.
I average about a mile in a little under ten minutes. If I’m in a hurry, I can do a 7 or 8 minute mile. If I’m in a hurry, it can be a workout where I get legit exercise flushed.
I think it’s worth it if you live in BK like I do. I’ve only tried it around Roosevelt Island to teach myself how to use it, so don’t have experience using it in the city. I use it to get from one part of BK to another, which can take a long time. It’s typically faster than taking the bus if there isn’t a direct route, but the bus in BK I find is a lot less enjoyable than the city. So I also recommend this if you want to avoid taking the bus. I also read that the bicycle was revolutionary for female mobility because it enabled women to travel unchaperoned. I’d agree with this. I wanted the ability to somewhat safely zip home on late weekends and feel like this has served that purpose well.
Carrying it around the city is not bad at all. It’s very light and portable. The strap is ok, but if you don’t hold it just right, some hardware will jam into you and pinch you no matter what you do. It doesn’t take up too much room on the subway, although I wouldn’t bring it with me during rush hour.
I have never used the kickstand.
Folding it up has so far seemed to be a very delicate process. Unhooking everything is easy enough, but it’s never clear if you did a good enough job when you close the joints, the red button for folding takes just the right touch (haven’t gotten it down to a swift motion, and kind of don’t think I’ll be able to). For the handles, they are held together by a piece of elastic. It doesn’t seem sturdy at all. The design flaw is that they pop out of the holders when folded up for carrying around. So you’ll be sitting or walking and find one flopping around and have to put it back in. It’s not held in there well at all. Thankfully, they do not pop out when you have it set up for riding.
The handlebars are good enough for my height and arm length. I am of average proportion. The scooter is very light in terms of weight and combined with handlebars that are just a tiny bit too short, I sometimes raise it off the ground when kicking. It doesn’t result in any actual performance issue other than being a little startling to slam yourself back onto the ground.
This is my first scooter ever, and I’d never ridden a scooter before this. So, I’m reviewing for it solving my problem, but I’m pretty useless at comparing it to other scooters.
I looked everywhere for a scooter before I decided on getting this one. I wanted to have larger wheels than those tiny kiddo scooters, but it’s hard to find one that is at a decent price range for me. I looked everywhere and I found a couple that I liked but they were almost all slightly more pricy than this one. I read all the reviews and decided this is the one. Glad I made the decision to get this. It made my life so much easier! at first I didn’t know exactly how to fold it so I was having a hard time, but my bf figured it out when he got his (I had my for weeks and recommended him to get one too) so now we both have this scooter (different color).
It’s sturdy and looks very slick which I love. On top of that, I love the handle bar a lot because it’s a rubber handle bar instead of those foam ones, it gave a lot more grip and feels much better texture wise.
