For the price that it was bought at it is quite an enjoyable experience. For those looking to buy one of these, I would recommend one that is made from one piece of material (doesn’t have an outside material like this one) as when the air gradually decreases moisture likes to get trapped in there possibly creating mould.
The amazing price deal of the day was just brillia
Heater, bubbles etc all work perfectly / even if it only lasts a year I would be pleased.
Pleasant surprise for an impulse buy.
Order on 25th March didn’t get till 10th April supplier very late with delivery then I had to chase the delivery for a date
It is nice to use, it’s comfortable to sit in, the achievable temperature and the controllability of the temperature are both great. The airjets? Well, they’re nice but there is only one setting – 11 – and you can’t adjust it so unless you want to continually sit in a maelstrom it’s of limited use. I’d love rot be able to turn it down to ‘sneaky fart’ but ‘brontosaurus the day after a feed of beans’ is all that’s available. It sounds like a jumbo jet taking off too. This does not prevent me from enjoying sitting in it with the jets off very much.
From the point of view of set up, the instructions are just crap. They lack detail, the illustrations are generic and sometimes the instructions are just plain wrong. This should not be complicated for Lay-Z-Spa but they’ve cut corners to save pennies and I think much less of their products because of it. YouTube videos and Google were the resources which helped me to commission the thing, the instructions were mostly just a hindrance.
If I change my opinion on anything I’ll adjust my review but this seems to have been a good expenditure of two-and-a-half hundred quid at this point.
Used for the first time recently. Set up instructions are terrible though and you need to watch a YouTube video. Came as described and works well.
Getting the right chlorine levels will take some practice I think but overall I’m happy with it so fa
Great hot tub. Very easy to inflate, just make sure you pull all tubes out of holes on outer cover and properly so all lined up to attach pump. Powerful pump, perfect size for 3.only negative is the stitching around the outer cover edge is coming undone.
Doesn’t seem as deep as my last Vagas lazy spa .Think it might just be very slightly smaller as from maximum water level to the top rim ,as seems just as deep in the water depth.
New design in pump square not a egg .Lift/ tilt control panel, easily altered as you don’t have to hangover the sides to change the settings when in the tub. There is also a new tube protruding at the bottom outside to let the water out ,another good upgrade from the old style. You can connect a pipe easily to drain it where you want it to go. The other new design is the tablets go into a cap/cover where the water returnsinto the tub.It has a freeze protection system also but not used as yet .Believe price gone back up now .What I paid I am a happy customer.
PS: Get yourself a foam matt to pop it all on. Then once you have the water shocked and settled, we found a floating dispenser with Clearwater’s Multifunction Chlorine Tablets to work best, keeping the water safe (consistent PH etc). There’s very little maintenance to be fair, but I’d keep a bottle of Foam Reducer handy as it can sometimes become a little frothy… and you’ll need filters, maybe replacing them every 3-4 sessions. To date, it appears to be quite economical, no huge energy bills after using say once a week.
I brought this to keep the kids entertained throughout the summer holidays for those days we had nothing planned. I had been looking for a while and refused to pay the extortionate prices some companies charge. This was too good to be true, that I was anticipating a bad point but it’s been great and worth every Penny. Even great for the adults with a cheeky glass of wine to unwind from the day. I did purchase the light separate which just adds to the atmosphere when it’s dark in the evenings. Very happy purchase.
So glad we chose the square model
Lovely and spacious for 2 people and not too intimate with four. Good strong bubbles
Would recommend placing it on an insulated board and a mat to preserve some heat. Pump is a soft drone so not too annoying unless right outside bedroom window!!
It comes up to temperature quite quickly and holds its temperature when left on
37 38 39 is just lovely
the base is squishy and quite comfy. We have it on all the time and were in it on Xmas day!
Once inflated, surround is very sturdy and good to climb over. The lid might need pumping up occasionally but easy to do.
The Clips need to be done up tightly to avoid water pooling on the lid. This will happen if it’s not on a completely flat surface
All in all , very pleased, great Value for money and it has changed our leisure time for the better. Now we go in every evening instead of watching trashy TV, a perfect wind down before bed.
We bought this after hiring one for the weekend. Wish we had done it years ago. This hot tub is brilliant, took us a few weeks to get the hang of using the chemicals but once we realised that having the ph right was the way to getting the chlorine correct. Make sure you order plenty of the dip sticks to test the water chemicals. We used a lot in the first few weeks. Don’t buy the expensive mats you can get them at DIY places for 1/2 the price.
We would pay a bit extra next time and get one with water jets not just bubbles as they are quieter. We use it everyday and our grandchildren love it. With our holidays being postponed it has brought us a lot of pleasure without leaving the house.
I couldn’t get the wifi to connect with my Samsung phone so i pulled out my old iPhone and it connected first time with that. Really not sure who’s to blame for that one but something to be aware of. Once it was connected the app works fine on my Samsung phone though.
Finally this is only a six person hot tub if you’re filling it with toddlers. Two adults is comfortable; a third stops anyone really stretching out and relaxing properly; and six would only be feasible with a significant level of intimacy.
I would highly recommend you take the plunge and buy one. So easy to set up, arrived in a small (but heavy) box and inflates in minutes. Takes a while to fill up, and a few hours to heat up but within an afternoon we were in and enjoying it.
Solid construction; soft comfortable base to sit on; pump/bubble machine is very quiet; comes with a decent length and robust cable and 3 pin plug; and the bubbles are really nice.
I think 6 adults would be a squeeze (but not impossible at all), but I couldn’t find one advertised with significantly larger dimensions that wasn’t solid and into the many thousands of pounds.
We love it. Go for it!
Costs to run… well I reckon just ticking over with no use, covered etc at 35oC, about 1.50 a day (it’s outside and in Yorkshire so depends on ambient temp!) rising to 4-4.50 when being hammered by the kids that don’t pay the leccy bill at 38oC +) for 10+ hours. We will probably empty it October to Mid-Spring as I suspect costs will outweigh the pleasures.
As for hassle… it’s like having another pet. Keeping up to the filter and chemicals is definitely worthwhile.
Had the older model of the Vegas lazy spa and this one is much better. The height of it is just a little shorter by a couple of cms which makes getting in and out easier. Resting head agains the back is more comfortable. The base unit (not when using bubbles) is so much quieter than the older model which is great. It maintains the heat for longer. It comes with a drinks holder on the device also very handy. The best part which makes a huge difference is the fact there is a port and tube attached to the bottom which makes emptying so much easier. The older model did not have this so the water did not drain out of the bottom well as the pressure of the water on the floor valve kept the water in and you had to lift the hot tub up to allow the water to drain. The new one had the valve which opens to a tube where u can attach the hose for easy draining.
Very sturdy, heater is good and efficient and jets are nice and powerful (don’t get me wrong this doesn’t have the fancy massage options of the expensive types) but for the money it’s great and all the family love it. We have used it every night so far. And just trying the timer option as busy for a few days.
Chemicals are a bit of a chew to get right, but I think that’s hot tubs in general. I would advise investing in foam mats underneath to protect and insulate for costs.
Suitable for kids as well (mine are eight and six) one of them has sensitive skin and no adverse reactions at all
The set up was quick (instructions could’ve been a bit clearer [ended up looking on the internet to clarify some details]) and once it was filled with water, I left it on overnight and by the early morning, it was a wonderfully warm temperature and ready to use.
The jets are powerful and massaging, the spa appears sturdy and overall it is easy to use. The inflated lid is an added bonus to maintain the waters temperature and keep electricity bills affordable! The filter is easy to clean and the chlorine attachment is an added bonus.
It’s definitely worth paying the little extra money for a decent spa and I would highly recommend this model and manufacturer.
My daughter and I love it and have used it everyday since it was set up.
