great kit a huge improvement on the earlier model but the EE chip unnecessary
Having been working with computers since the 1970s, altough I have evolved beyond punched cards, I am now mainly a desktop/or laptop computer user and those are high-end. However I do like to have a 10″ tablet for portability. So far I have tried two 10″ tablets and both have been unuseable disaster zones that have been returned. But I still wanted one. My laptop is a Lenovo Legion Y920 17 now 4 years old and is great. My very old netbook is also Lenovo and still fine to take to the pub. As well I recently found out that Lenovo own Motorola my mobile phone brand. So the logic evolved to take a look at a Lenovo 10″ Android tablet and I ended up buying this M10 FHD Plus. Once initially powered up, my reaction was – what the heck is this one button mode (the default), so quickly into settings and re-establish my usual 3 button mode. There after everything has been familiar and worked just great. Ported several app settings using share to nearby device via my phone. Bluetooth to my Logitech K480 works perfectly. We are fully up and running. Still some work to do but I am delighted to have a 10″ Android tab that meets my needs. Why not just use my phone? Well if your eyes can manage that as you approach your late 70yo, well and good but mine can’
Overall great value for money. Definitely recommend.
Excellent screen quality. Good size and quite lightweight. Battery life good but can take a while to recharge (or maybe I’m just spoilt by the speed of my phone!).
This is a really good tablet, especially for the money. Display is crisp with rich colours, very quick speed and does basically all I want it to. Also a good size, but not heavy or thick, and yet still feels tough (although I have bought a cover for it just in case). Battery life is really solid too – can last all day and night with modest use.
A great choice if you want a 10 inch tablet.
Lenovo Tab M10 Tablet:
This tablet has a mis-match design – it can’t make up its mind whether it is designed for use in landscape (as most large tablets are) or portrait mode.
(a). The device switches on in the portrait mode, so you crick your neck to sign in.
(b). The front camera is on the left edge, so when the tablet is in landscape mode, user facing the camera is actually looking to the right. To get user looking at the other person, you look left at the camera, but you don’t see what is going on on the screen! Turning the tablet to portrait mode, the camera is on the top and the user is looking at the other person, but if you’ve put the tablet into the keyboard case, its all a bit cumbersome!.
(c). If using Facebook, to write something the software switches the screen to portrait mode!
The loudspeakers are on the left and right edges in landscape mode, proof the tablet is (partially) designed for landscape use.
The on/off and volume keys are on the top in landscape mode, and all the attachment keyboards designed for this tablet are designed for landscape mode.
The quality of the loudspeakers is absolutely awful. No problems with strength of sound, just the quality – raspy, tiny, the sort of quality where speakers have been used to full power for prolonged periods, not natural such as found on Samsung tablets. It is certainly not suitable for playing music, and becomes quite annoying when watching TV/videos!
Screen is fairly responsive, but there are times I’ve had to tab the screen several times, for example using YouTube.
However, the screen quality is a poor FHD (1920×1200), but then I suppose I’m comparing it to my existing Samsung Galaxy Tab S-10.5 (2560×1600). It is perfectly suitable for working on documents, etc.
There is a remarkable difference in the quality of picture when video meeting. The Lenovo has a 5 MP webcam, and the Samsung Tab 10.5 has a 2.1 MP, but the Samsung is sharper and more in focus, as are objects behind the user.
Coupled with the above disappointments, the ProCase Keyboard for this tablet is NOT a UK layout – using ALT+ an annoying alternative; very annoyingly fiddly to open up or close down. Returned.
The Logitech Universal Folio keyboard & case would have been perfect, being a UK keyboard, but Bluetooth recognised but wouldn’t connect.
Once configured with MS Launcher and my choices of software, it is superb. Especially the 4g connectivity!
** IMPORTANT ** The first thing it does is upgrade to Android 10 and you need to do a factory wipe and restart after (not documented). Otherwise your apps won’t run in background and won’t reliably give notifications. This method cured all the problems. It is speedy and reliable. A really good tablet IMHO. PS… I formatted my extra microSD as portable memory to avoid any performance reduction.
I bought one of these 6 months ago & have been mighty impressed. Over the last 6 months I have used my M10 daily & can’t find anything to complain about – it runs everything I have put on it with no problems whatsoever. Battery life is good, screen is bright & clear. As well as browsing the web I use this for Gurushots, Golf Clash, Kodi & Photoshop. BBc Iplayer, ITV Hub & Youtube all run brilliantly.
I purchased a few of these for my vehicles as my clients have requested electronic Waste Transfer Notes. These are ideal as they have Wi-fi but also have a SIM slot too so you should be able to connect to the internet we ever you are and so far they are working fine. The Screens are bright and crisp and work well under all light conditions, the sound is OK too but this is rarely used by us. Apps and programs run fast and smooth and we’ve had no issues at all with them…in fact I’m thinking of buying one for my Holidays
Seems to take a while to charge and sometimes does seem a bit sluggish but that could be from internet connection. Overall I’m happy with it. It’s not an iPad but for only 1/4 of the price of an equivalent iPad (spec-wise as they run different OSes, it sure gets the job done. Use it for online training videos, PDF reading, news and an occasional word game or similar.
Got the 4G version when it was discounted to less than the WiFi one but removed the SIM before turning it on and haven’t bothered with that as I have a good data plan on my phone.
Great tablet. Upgrades to android 10. Comes with an ee SIM card, although not locked to ee. Great if you are out and about a lot and always need to stay connected. I use it for general internet & apps (not gaming), and for this use it performs well. The screen is clear, bright, and very responsive. Would recommend buying a case, that also doubles as a stand, as the tablet has a very slim bezel, which makes is difficult to hold. Cannot fault this tablet, especially at this price point. However, one thing I would put on my wish list would be a fingerprint reader, as more apps these days use this rather than the traditional username & password.
Bought to upgrade from a 2Gb Tab 4, I’m impressed how much of an improvement this is. Screen is crisp and colourful and it runs much more smoothly. To have mobile connectivity is also a huge bonus. Great buy.
Anyone in tech knows the Android tablet market is currently dead, where 90% of Android tablets completely suck and there’s little competition. For that reason I was unsure whether to give this one a shot, especially since it wasn’t a Samsung. After some thought I decided to take a leap of faith and try it out, and I’m glad I did.
It’s one of the minority tablets out there that is modern enough, decent in specs, good quality, and not a Samsung. It’s great for professional workers looking for a sleek, respectable-looking tablet for admin work, reading, browsing, and other casual daily tasks. General usage (e.g. switching apps, etc.) is smooth and snappy as good tablets should be, but I haven’t tested it under hard work. I recommend checking online videos for comparisons to other tables and further info about the tablet.
This is a great 10 inch tablet. It is great that you can put in a data SIM and be able to access the internet anywhere. The video is excellent, as is streaming on WiFi or LTE. However there is no apps that support VoLTE calls/dialers as the tablet has no inbuilt firmware to allow users to select a ringtone. It allows tethering via hotspot (although I have not checked with other providers/SIM operators to see if it is ‘unlocked’).
If you are getting this for a present, birthday or Christmas, and like me set it up beforehand…. Do not set it up before removing the SIM card already inserted. Remove the SIM card then set it up. When it is to be used then the SIM can be reinserted then initiated and it’s timelimit started.
Great Android tablet, that can be used with Family Link for children.
It has a USB C cable connector, possible ethernet connection (haven’t tried it) and with Bluetooth 7 at 9.99-19.99 it is cheaper option than a300 10 inch laptop.
Good for everyday use browsing, streaming etc etc.snappy with a few apps open due to 4gb of ram and not full of bloatware installed like samsung tablets.cant go wrong for the price considering you can go out and about with it,with a sim card if need be or just wireless if you prefer.Good all rounder at a good price
