We keep it on the auto setting. I know it’s working because whenever we fry food, it detects that right away and ramps up the filtering process. This happens even though the filter is located two rooms away from the kitchen. It’s amazing how far and fast these particulates travel through the house.
The one concern I have is about the cost of the replacement filters, but they are very substantial looking, as filters go.
The Core 600S came highly recommended in my independent research before I purchased this unit. It did not disappoint. It filters the main house really well, fast, and quietly. I love the app features and that it works with Alexa routines. I can’t imagine being happier with an air purifier, except maybe when it’s time to change the filter and I switch to the pet/allergy filter. Time will tell.
Every fall, like clockwork, when my nose dries out and I wake up with a bloody nose it’s time to get the humidifier out of storage. It didn’t happen this year since I’ve been using this air purifier! I just don’t have the particle irritation I have had.
I have also found it useful to use near projects (like a drywall repair). It draws in the contaminants and keeps it from spreading around the house.
The digital display showing you how much particulate it’s drawing in is gratifying, and the speed adjusts accordingly. I really love it!
We’ve had our air purifiers from Levoit for almost 2 years now and love how they tell you when it’s time to change the filters (which is super easy to do!) and the digital display on the top of the 600s which is what we have in our living room.
This is much quieter than another Honeywell HEPA filter I have. On low (and usually on “auto”), I measure about 29dB from 3 feet away.
The lights can be completely shut off, which is essential if you are putting this in a bedroom and are a light sleeper.
I did have to exchange the first unit I received, since it had a faulty motor that made a grinding sound. But Levoit support was responsive and effective.
I would buy another one.
Have a 1560 sq ft home and have multiple cats and this unit seems to have reduced the odors from those pets. I can tell a positive difference in the odor reduction using this product.
This product is well worth the money! We have several cats and cook three meals a day! Normal household smells but this air purifier cleans the odors instantly and leaves everything fresh! Love it! Already bought another for upstairs!
Hey Guys. We purchased the device since we kept noticing lots of dust and having to change our air filters more frequently. So far we have placed it upstairs and it does really well at keeping the air nice and pure as well as any smells out from the rooms. I do wish for the price it had the option for warm air.
It is big but I love it. We run it in low power mode 24/7 and it is super quiet. We turn it on high power only when we doing cooking with air fryers. It is powerful but you may need to replace filter much sooner.
I’ve been down the road with cheap aftermarket replacement filters and I jus twon’t do it anymore. What I do is I buy a carbon pre-filter that can be trimmed to surround the OEM filter and that extends the life by 2-3x. All I do it vacuum the pre-filter about once every month or 2. It looks like a tight fit and you wonder if you can get a carbon pre-filter wrapped around this OEM filter and get it back in but you can and it fits perfectly. I bought 1 on Amazon for $10 so $10 spent that extends the life of an OEM filter 2-3x is money well spent and it also greatly increases the odor reduction capability of the filter.
I went with this one you can search: CFS COMPLETE FILTRATION SERVICES EST.2006 1-PACK Cut-to-Fit Carbon Pad 16 x 48 inches for Air Filters Charcoal Sheet fits Air Purifiers Range Hoods Furnace Filters removes Odor V O C Parts Accessories Replacement Replenishment and more
I love the automatic on and fan speed changing. It works like magic. The light shuts off when it’s dark, and it comes on all by itself when needed. A must have during these smoky times.
The HEPA filter works great and our air quality in the house is significantly better allowing us to read much better. It is quite surprising and we didn’t know the difference until a few days after we turned this on.
No real dislikes for machine itself. Works great and we can’t go without it now, 3 dogs and two cat. We notice a significant difference in the air in our home. However the replacement filters are very expensive!
I recently purchased the LEVOIT Air Purifier for Home Large Room (Core 600S) and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. This air purifier has truly transformed the air quality in my home, making it a much more pleasant and allergen-free environment.
First off, the coverage area of up to 3175 sq. ft. is impressive, and it works efficiently to cleanse the air throughout my entire living space. I have a fairly large living room, and this air purifier has no trouble keeping the air clean and fresh.
The HEPA filter is a standout feature. It captures particles, smoke, pet allergens, dust, and pollen with ease. I have noticed a significant reduction in pet dander and other airborne irritants since I started using this air purifier. It’s a game-changer for anyone dealing with allergies or sensitive respiratory systems.
The addition of Smart WiFi and a PM2.5 monitor is a welcome bonus. I can conveniently control the air purifier using the app on my phone, which is incredibly user-friendly. The real-time monitoring of PM2.5 levels gives me peace of mind knowing that the air quality is being closely monitored and maintained.
As for the noise level, I did notice some noise when the air purifier is running, but it’s nothing that would disrupt daily activities or sleep. In fact, it’s a white noise that I find quite soothing.
Lastly, the integration with Alexa is fantastic. Being able to control the air purifier using voice commands is a convenient feature that adds to the overall ease of use.
In conclusion, the LEVOIT Core 600S Air Purifier is an outstanding product that deserves a solid 5-star rating. It effectively purifies the air, is easy to control through the app, and the slight noise it generates is not a concern. If you’re looking for an air purifier for a large room, this is definitely one to consider.
I was looking for a larger HEPA air purifer that could handle my entire downstairs and decided to give this one a try. It is fantastic. Don’t screw around with the smaller ones, just buy the 600 and be done with it. Some people say this makes too much noise but I have it in my living room and I keep it running on the 3rd of 4 speeds all the time. I can hear my TV and music playing just fine at normal levels. Speed #4 (Turbo or whatever they call it) is louder and I won’t use that setting in the living room while watching TV or listening to music. Here is the deal.. If you want to purify the air in your space you need to move a lot of it through a purifer and that means it is not going to be whisper quiet. I own an older Honeywell 5250 that is an awesome air purifer. It filters massive amounts of air on the higher setting (far more than this one does) but it also sounds like a jet engine running at those higher speeds. This Levoit 600 is just perfect in my opinion… it’s very quiet for the amount of air it is filtering and it does a very good job at it. It is a top quality product in my opinion and (if you care to activate it) the ability to control it, program it and monitor air quality your smart phone is nice.
I tried 3 other air purifiers from different companies (some expensive some cheap) that did not work as described. I noticed a difference in the air quality in my home instantly, once I turned on my Levoit air purifier. This air purifier caught so much dust and pet dander that I didn’t realize I was breathing in. Just take a look at the old filter vs the new filter. That says it all!!!
So before I bought this I bought the $200 shark purifier and at first I thought the shark was doing a good job but it wasn’t rectifying the poor air quality readings on my ecobee. Then I got the Levoit and my goodness within 24 hours my ecobee showing clean air and staying there! Feel like a lot of this air quality stuff is invisible but this one seems to really do what it’s supposed to.
I am absolutely thrilled with the Air Quality Display meter on the LEVOIT Air Purifier. This feature has truly transformed the way I perceive and manage indoor air quality. The real-time information provided by the display meter has become an essential tool in ensuring a healthy environment for my office. My Lovoit is a remarkable addition that cleans the air we breathe. Kudos to LEVOIT!
Great product and great mobile app! Only area I wish they’d change is expand the built in sensor to monitor more than only PM2.5. A compromise would be a stand alone sensor that communicates with the Levoit app
One of the best purchases we’ve made. You can’t tell a difference in air quality. It’s quiet even on the highest setting. The app is good and gives good information like filter life, fan speed and air quality.
I knew I needed something to help with the dust, cooking smells and smoke. We have a wood burning fireplace and every once in awhile, the fireplace doesn’t draw good when starting a fire. This air purifier works quickly to eliminate the smoke and cooking smells. I had wondered if it was really working to help with the dust and was convinced when the change filter light came on and I opened it up. Yuck! It’s definitely helping. Y’all it really works.
My home is 3440 sq ft excluding basement. We have smaller air purifiers for bedrooms from this manufacturer. Given the wildfire smoke coming from Canada that will seep into the house I purchased this on Prime Day for our first floor. It takes the smoke smell out, all our seasonal allergies are better and within a couple hours we get a “very good” air quality rating from inside the house. It is super quiet. App is a bit awkward to navigate.
This is more a standalone air filter than an air purifier, there is no ionizing taking place nor any UV treatment of the air passing through this air filter. I really do like the low level of noise it makes and the wifi connection to it to get alerts and set it up but it is totally useless at removing any odor whatsoever. If you cook, the house will still smell cooking, if you have an open fireplace as I do, you will still get some nasty whiffs out of it. The only use I found it worthwhile was to remove the particle in the air during the episode of smoke coming from Canada to Connecticut/New-York. It went on red as soon as I opened the windows in the morning and ramped the fan up and sent me alerts on my iDevices until I closed the windows and it finished its air cleaning. The air in my house is usually very clean, we live in the middle of the woods in a clean house with no pets and no smoker so it usually only displays between 001 and 020 depending on activities. The only noise level acceptable for us is on the very low setting, above that it is very noticeable and annoying, let alone when it ramps up to max, it is way too loud. We could not sleep with this thing in our bedroom even on very low setting, my wife and I are very picky on silent nights.
We bought this on a whim thinking it would help with allergies. It has been great. I love the digital reading on top. It is no louder than a regular fan. When we bought it, our air quality was blue, which is great. It has only been in the green once and took about an hour to bring it back into the blue. Pur home is 3300 square feet with half of that downstairs in an open concept. It is centrally located on our bottom floor. I would definitely buy it again.
I’m a “prim” disabled Marine who spends most of the time in my bedroom. I have black curtains and a room full of dust. I use my ceiling fan and my regular box fan to block out the outside noises (It works), but the dust keeps coming.
I googled for the best Air Purifier money can buy. (Not that I was going to purchase it.)
Every product reviewed by the experts where picked differently. (Obviously) I can’t recall the name of the company; I know it started with an S. watched the video, and the product I decided to go to was “Levoit.” For the price and how much room it covers (3000), it was a no-brainer. After washing my curtains and cleaning my house, I tested the purifier. After two weeks, I was impressed with the outcome. No dust anywhere.
What I really liked is that in the app it gives the amount of particles OUTside as well as INside. The eco mode saves electric. It’s super easy to change the filter and the app gives the percentage of remaining life. Sometimes I use the auto mode that speeds up from cooking smoke – removes the smoke – then runs slower once the removal is done. It did a great job when the Canada smoke was at my location.
I never write amazon reviews but I am shook at how quickly this product got rid of the cigarette smoke smell in my apartment. When I used to come home to my apartment, it smelled like cigarette smoke since the fumes from the upstair’s neighbors apartment would trickle down to my apartment. I now come home and it smells like air!! fresh air!!! I work in healthcare and hate the smell of cigarette smoke. The cigarette smoke smell was transferring onto my scrubs and I was getting worried about my coworkers smelling the smoke. That issue is now gone!!!
This air purifier is very convenient and works very quickly. Ours is programmed to run in Auto mode from 6am to 11pm. The auto mode adjusts the fan speed as it detects impurities in the air. If I am cooking on the stove you can see it react very quickly by powering up to increase the amount of air run through it. As the air clears, it slows the fan. The app allows me to check the filter life, add scheduling or turn it on and off. Very convenient, easy to operate and I very pleased.
I got this because of the smoke from Canadian wildfires. It was bad enough that I could smell it in my apartment. I got concerned not only for myself, I have CHF, but for my pet birds and elderly cats. I love the program that lets me check on air quality from my phone. It’s more than adequate to handle the air in my whole place. Within half an hour it had our air quality at an amazing 3, very good. I can’t believe how quiet it is even if I run the fan at top speed. I run it several times a day and over night and only have to have it set on fan speed 1. I’m so pleased with it I recommended it to my whole family.
My wife wanted an air purifier as she has bad allergies and sensitive to air quality. I didn’t think it was needed… I was wrong. I have it in our kitchen and burned something, and with it’s auto sensing capability… kicked into high gear and removed the smoke in minutes. Just now, I was outside and had the windows open and didn’t realize it was an air quality warning day. Came inside and notice this awesome device had a reading of 32 ppm. I turned it on auto and it’s made a noticeable difference… and this is coming from someone who didn’t think this would make a difference. I HIGHLY recommend it.
I first purchased a Levoit 300S on Prime Day last year and appreciated its effectiveness in producing noticeably cleaner air in my bedroom. I knew I wanted to add an air purifier for the entire first floor area, which gets a lot of traction with daily kitchen use and a very large, fluffy dog. This Levoit 600S met all of the criteria we were seeking! It is built for large room capacity, it’s very quiet even on the highest setting, it’s Energy Star efficient, it noticeably cleans the air for the entire floor in a very short period of time (even when cooking!), it’s easy to operate with intuitive buttons and an App that is easy to navigate, and it’s a very sleek and modern design. We love it! The only feedback I would give Levoit is to make the buttons on the interface more visible. It’s a bit hard to see unless you really lean in and have the right lighting. I would also recommend buyers upgrade to the yellow pet filter once the initial white base filter it comes with is ready to be changed. We did this with the 300S in our bedroom and it helps control pet odors more effectively. The Levoit 600S is a 5-star product for now and we’re super happy with it!
As of wring this review I jave own the Levolt 600S for about 8 hours.
Pros(so far):
*easy set up( including installation and set up of the app)
*Very quiet on its 2 lowest setting
*Moves a alot of air, especially on 2 higher settings
*Has 4 fan setting ( 5, Has a hidden extra low setting that is accessible through its auto function if the air is clean enough( the ring is in the blue))
*Light weight for its size
Neutral:
* The highest setting is rather loud, but it does move quite a bit of air
Cons (so far):
The only thing I didn’t like about the unit is Price. For $300, I don’t know yet if it was worth it, especially since replacement filters cost $60 each. If If each filter last for at least a year, I will consider this product a win, and come back and edit my review to reflect my upcoming future experiences.
I will soon find out how well it works, given that where I live we are being swept by wild fire smoke coming from Canada.
Having read reviews of this product I decided to give it a try. We live in an 1842 home with a large earthen cellar and gas stove & furnaces. Particularly after a heavy rain the house can smell musty. We also have a Labrador who lets us live in “her” home. In a word, we think this unit is amazing. The noise on high is noticeable but in no way disturbing. It is on medium and about four feet away from me; I’m playing soft background music and I can barely hear the unit (my hearing is very good).
We’ve had it running for three days and the difference between the kitchen/den compared to the rest of our home is remarkable. It clears out cooking smells quickly, much better than trying to cover them up with sprays or candles.
It comes with a basic three-stage filter, and I’ll replace it with one specifically for homes with pets. I also noticed a $30 off coupon, so I’ve just ordered a second one. I’m pleased to find a product of this quality; it consumes minimal power and does exactly what the manufacturer states it will do.
I originally had bought a small Levoit core for my birds and decided to upgrade to this for my living room. This does a great job at neutralizing cooking odors that are deadly for pet parrots and birds in general. I have 2 parrots and they both have so much bird dander that makes the air stuffy and I always have to keep windows open to keep air circulating. After buying the core 600s the air has been very clean and I can breathe easier especially being able to set times on when it turns on and off in the app. The air purifier has a very good sensor that notifies me whenever the air quality goes bad and even has auto mode to keep your air clean even at night. It is also a great source of white noise for those looking for both good air quality and better sleep.
UPDATE:
After letting the unit run for about a month, I decided to vacuum it and see for myself how good of a job it’s doing. I provided another picture and video I took with half of the filter vacuumed and the other not being vacuumed. This is a great if not the best air purifier.
Edit:
I let the air purifier run on fan speed 2-3 throughout the day and would automatically have it on Night mode when I went to sleep. I rarely had it on fan speed 4 unless I was cooking.
We have now had this purifier for a month and have absolutely nothing bad to say about it. It is doing a great job of purifiying the air. We actually put it to the test with cooking and a diffuser that was at least 10-15 feet away. It immediately recognized a change in the air quality.
With the cooking, the air quality was in the good category and the fan speed automatically adjusted for it. When we turned on the diffuser, the air quality actually went to the Red and the fan speed on High. We haven’t tried to burn any candles yet, but we do have the wall plug-ins and can still smell them.
We did end up buying two 400s and two 200s models to go in some of the other rooms so this one would not have to work as hard to clean the air.
We keep this model and the 400s on all the time; none of them use much power. We love the app and highly recommend using the app to fully utilize the purifier for the 600 and 400s.
We have not had a single issue with any of the models and unless the fan speed goes to high, you don’t even know they are running…very quiet.
Though these don’t completely eliminate all the dust, we have noticed a very significant decrease in how often we have to dust and this is living in South Texas. Before the purifiers, we could dust one day and within a day or two it didn’t even look like we dusted. These have definitely made a huge improvement in controlling the dust.
In all, we wouldn’t hesitate to make this purchase again and have actually recommended to other family members.
I recently purchased four of the PlasmaPro 600S Smart 635 sq.ft. True HEPA Air Purifier, and I must say, I am thoroughly impressed with its performance.
This air purifier offers a range of features that make it stand out from the competition and provide a cleaner and healthier indoor environment.
First and foremost, the PlasmaPro 600S has a sleek and modern design with its black panel, which adds an elegant touch to any room. It blends seamlessly with the decor and doesn’t look out of place. The unit is well-built and feels sturdy, giving a sense of durability.
The most important aspect of any air purifier is its purification capability, and the PlasmaPro 600S excels in this regard. Equipped with a True HEPA filter, it effectively captures and removes up to 99.97% of airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns. This includes dust, pollen, pet dander, mold spores, and even some bacteria and viruses. The HEPA filter ensures that the air you breathe is clean and free from common allergens and pollutants.
One feature that sets this air purifier apart is its Smart functionality. With built-in Wi-Fi connectivity, you can control and monitor the device from anywhere using a smartphone app. This allows you to adjust the fan speed, set timers, and check the air quality in real-time. The app also provides valuable insights into the air quality history, allowing you to track improvements over time. The convenience and ease of use offered by the Smart features make the PlasmaPro 600S a standout choice.
In terms of performance, this air purifier is highly efficient and capable of covering a large area of up to 635 sq.ft. This makes it suitable for use in living rooms, bedrooms, or even small offices. The fan operates quietly, even at higher speeds, ensuring a peaceful environment without any distracting noise. The unit also comes with an auto mode that adjusts the fan speed based on the air quality detected by the built-in sensors. This feature is especially useful as it optimizes energy usage while still maintaining a clean and healthy atmosphere.
Maintenance is relatively straightforward with the PlasmaPro 600S. The filter replacement process is simple, and the device provides timely reminders when it’s time to change the filters. It is recommended to replace the True HEPA filter approximately every six months, depending on usage and air quality conditions.
Overall, the PlasmaPro 600S Smart 635 sq.ft. Black Panel True HEPA Air Purifier is an excellent choice for anyone looking to improve indoor air quality. It offers a powerful and efficient purification system, smart connectivity, and a sleek design. While it may be priced slightly higher than some other air purifiers on the market, its performance and added features make it worth the investment.
I highly recommend this air purifier for its outstanding performance and ability to create a cleaner and healthier living environment.
You will not regret the purchase , please know that I have not been paid for or given any free products or have anything to do with the company, this review is my own personal experience with the several PlasmaPro 600S Smart 635 sq.ft. that I have had for over a year now
The product clears up cigar smoke and smell in my office like no cigar has been smoked so far works great,, I have one issue I ordered an extra filter with it and yes it’s the one that is for it but doesn’t look the same as the original and it came with two wrap on filters to put on for dog hair and such,, Why does it look different than the original and why no pre wrap filter for the original filter? Are the replacement filters not as good as original? I will give an update when it’s time for the replacement filter,, I hope it works just like the original
Bottom line up front, I am returning this.
BUT, not because it’s a bad item. In fact, it’s rather good. It’s large, but not TOO large, and it’s very nicely built and aesthetically pleasing. Even at it’s highest setting, it isn’t LOUD, and it’s almost suspiciously quiet when in auto mode. The auto detection on this thing is top notch. It can always, almost immediately, detect when I am cooking, and shows red on the display and goes into high gear to clear the air. The particle detection is crazy good.
So, WHY am I returning it then? Because it doesn’t do the one thing I need it to do, which is “freshen” the air. I have 2 dogs, and the air in our house can sometimes get a little “stale.” Not smelly, just very heavy. I always have the ceiling fans running, or the door open; just to introduce some fresh air to the house. I figured this thing would recirculate the air, thus freshening up the interior of the house. It doesn’t, and I must have great quality air IN the house, because other than when I am cooking, the display is always at 000-001 and it is on the lowest fan setting.
I would actually love to keep it, just so that it can filter the air when I cook, but for $200 (Amazon Warehouse), I just can’t justify the cost. I have smaller Levoit air filters throughout the house, and they will just have to do. (Core 200s). If it were $100, I’d keep it.
If you are just looking for something to increase the breathability or “quality” of your air, this is a definite recommendation. But if you’re looking to have it remove musty odors, or take the smokiness out of a smokers apartment, this isn’t your device.
I love my purifiers!!. I live in a very dry climate, and it gets dusty fast. My smoke detectors are closer to my stove than I like, and since I love cooking “cajun” and “blackened food” my house gets smoky quick. Thanks to my purifier, soon as the fire detector sounds, within seconds of turning on my purifier, it quickly clears the smoke, and silences the alarm, so I can enjoy my food. So, areas that get a lot of smoke, dust, etc, these work wonders. The air quality is so much better now. The extras, such as the app, make this my pick for purifiers.
I smoke in my garage (1+ pks/day) and needed something to at least cut down on the smell. My husband is a non-smoker and absolutely hates the smell. After only a few days, he couldn’t believe how much better the garage smelled!! I’ve had it a couple weeks now and we’re both amazed!! Even though it came with a filter, I bought the Smoke filter for this machine — I’m telling you it works GREAT. I leave it on the 3-4 setting at the top all day and change it to Auto setting at night. Believe me it works incredibly well in my 3-car garage. Don’t hesitate—this is truly worth every penny it and the Smoke filter cost!
I have owned a lot of air filters, trust me, more than you have. This is by far my favorite one, 300 bucks isnt no joke, but its worth every penny. The replacement filter is 50-80 bucks, but …it works so what is that value worth. The app is great, I have a schedule that runs it high all night in my bedroom and right before I wake up it changes to low, then after I go to work, high again. The ato adjust is nice, when it detects objects in the air it turns on higher (vaping make it increase its speed, thats new age smoking for the old people) As soon as I blow smoke in the room, the count gets higher, right away it knows something is in the air. Sleep mode and display off is nice as well, normally I have to put black tape over the display since I like my room blacked-out. I can read my filter even when I am not home since it is on my wifi. You will not be disappointed with this beast. I had it in the master room, but it moves so much air, I have been putting it just outside the bedroom door, it is capable of doing master room, hallway and another bedroom. I blew smoke in the other bedroom and about 20 seconds later, it registered.
I was skeptical about spending that much on a air purifier! But after seeing it cleaned up to 3k square foot I was like, ok I’ll try it. I have a big living room, dining room and kitchen all open and it cleans all the air it seems like in my house. My house is 1,700 square foot, it smells fresh and I also have a dog and cat. I get so many compliments on how my house smells so good now. So if you’ve been thinking about buying it just go for it it’s worth it.
I love this air purifier. I received it on April 12. I’m very happy to see the highest my score has been 7. I have less dust consistently. I would definitely buy a bigger unit. My square footage is 1112 sq. ft. The 600 is designed to change the air in a 1588 ft room 2x per hour. Make sure to check how long it takes to clean a certain amount of area x the amount of time. in this case, bigger is better and more energy efficient. Auto ECO mode and sleep can noise is super quiet. I often think it’s turned off.
(Just a thought, it did raise the score if you run a humidifier. I had a cool air humidifier running for an hour, (grandkids) my score shot up to 57. My son was turning his unit, a 400, off at night and running his humidifier. He would wake up to a score of 300. As soon as I turned the humidifier off in the morning, my score went down to 5.)
After experiencing the benefits of this unit it would be difficult to live without one. First off let me say I have allergies and pollen n dust cause congestion. I was frequently waking up with one or both of my nazle passages plugged every morning. The first night after setting up this 600s my breathing was considerably better! I now wake up breathing clearly. The air has a fresh crisp smell to it. I set the unit to fan speed 2 and that circulates the air perfect without being obnoxious. What noise the unit does make is relaxing and personally I enjoy a little background noise when sleeping.
This company’s customer service standards is like no other!! I had an issue with the first one of these about 6 months after purchase. I contacted the company about my issue and they covered it under warranty. I have this current model running 24/7 with no issues. I plan on buying another one of these soon for the upstairs.
Don’t waist your time shopping around. This Levoit 600s does more square footage and beats out all the competition on price/performance comparison.
Bought the Core 600 S four months ago and notice the air quality change right away so much better than our previous air purifiers. My wife is a smoker and I am not so keeping the air quality is important to me. We decided it’s time to replace the filter and followed the cleaning instructions. Put new filter in and plugged it back in and it made a buzzing noise. Contact customer service and they ask me to send a video of the unit and a few details so they could determine the issue. They replied I would get a new one nothing else needed and they shipped it out. I just got it, put it up and it is running nice and quiet with the best quality of air that I enjoy. I have bought these for gifts and recommend these for those who require quality air in their homes.
This review is strictly for cigar smokers. I did purchase the additional replacement smoke filter which I use. Hard to say if it is necessary or made a difference. So this item will clear the whole room of smoke, I use it on the highest setting when I’m smoking a cigar and do have to turn the tv on louder when the purifier is on the highest setting. So while it does clear the smoke and clean the air, a slight cigar smell will linger and actually seems to also make the filter smell. However, I came up with a solution that works for me and my 800 sqft apartment no longer has cigar nor cigarette smell (my girlfriend smokes cigarettes). I included photos if what I use. No it has not caused the machine to malfunction, it’s been about 3 weeks now. The machine sucks in air from the side and blows air out of the top. I do close the door to my bedroom and bathroom and I do make sure no clothes are in my living room which can hold smell. I have a leather couch and hard wood floors. I do place towels under the door to my bedroom and to the hallway door to my apartment, I live on the first floor. I have zero complaints from other tenants. I do open the outside door or window on one end of the apartment and suck air out with a fan in the window. If it’s nice out I will do this while smoking if not, I will air out the place as soon as I’m finished. I do put a ceiling fan on low speed in the room, not sure if that makes any real difference though. What you see in the photos are activated charcoal filters and an 8oz jar of Ozium. The charcoal filters are reusable apparently you let them sit in the sun to recharge which I have not done. I help this works for you as is has for me.
The air purifier has many “pluses” and a few “minuses.”

ADVANTAGES
.
1. DESIGN: It is a marvel in design for simplicity. It employs a square plastic tower with small holes on the bottom four sides. Raw air enters the device and is forced through a large cylindrical HEPA filter. The air is drawn inside via a propeller, that is attached to a brushless motor, with a lit control panel on top.
.
2. COST: For a $300 large room air cleaner that handles an advertised 3,175 square feet of coverage, the price point is near the “low end” for its class. Very often, Amazon has “customer returns.” At $193.50, it becomes a “steal.”
.
The HEPA filter is rated for 6 months to a year. Replacement price for a comparable to an original unit is $47 to $60. This is cheap in comparison to $100 panel-type filters.
.
3. PERFORMANCE: I purchased this product to handle my chronic coughing. The bottom of my left lung has a permanent inflammation. From November to Spring, I suffer a dry cough that lasts eight months or more. FORACORT 400 inhaler is used to control the medical problem. In addition, a HONEYWELL electronic air cleaner with two UVC lights are used to minimize irritating airborne dust and molds. Unfortunately, the equipment does not intercept the smaller particles, germs, and viruses.
. . . . . The HEPA filter is designed for the latter. Upon its 24/7 deployment, I notice a reduction in coughs. So, the product does work as advertised.

DISADVANTAGES
.
1. NOISE: The two highest speeds are noisy. In fact, I can hear it 60 feet away and through an insulated wall.
.
2. CUSTOMER SERVICE: According to most Amazon users, it is useless. The company employs maximum effort to refuse returns and repairs. So, its 2-year warranty is totally meaningless.
.
Unfortunately, this is the “normal state of affairs” for almost all firms. In fact, I have experienced only two third-parties on Amazon, that has outstanding customer service. The reality is that there are very few customer-centric Amazon and Costco-like companies in the business world.
.
3. LOW QUALITY/NON-FUNCTIONAL COMPONENTS: Common Amazon user complaints are a noisy motor and non-functional features. On these issues, I can personally attest to the top two speed settings. They are loud. Also, the AUTO feature is useless. It only functions at the lower two speeds and always indicate that the room air is good.
This air purifier with a price tag of 400.00 dollars is greatly flawed. First off, when in auto mode you have only two options, default and eco. On default it will not ramp up to full speed or turbo mode even though the air quality indicator could be at 0% or 999 pm25. Yet somehow it cleans my entire room of smoke in 15 to 30 seconds at most. Well, it doesn’t clear the smoke and it doesn’t freshen the room. It is absolutely terrible at purifying the air on auto mode (which is why it’s so expensive due to the 3 different sensors). The Levoit 600s did an amazing job at purifying the air. When running the same test of blowing smoke around it, the fan would kick into overdrive, and you could feel it was cleaning the air. Not just that but it lasted minutes at times cleaning it out as it normally should since I am blowing clouds of smoke on them. The features are limited on the Everest model. The features are abundant and the best set of features I have ever experienced on an air purifier. I thought that trading up to the Everest would be a better investment since its newer and well more expensive. But I was wrong. I spoke to Levoit who did nothing but explain to me that auto mode only goes to fan speed 3 at most and that it’s a very powerful air purifier and that is why it cleans the clouds of smoke in my room in 15 seconds flat. I replied back reminding them that the 600s is even more powerful and should clean the air faster than this Everest version, but they never replied back. So do not waste your money on the Everest as it is nothing more than a good-looking air purifier. Auto mode with a great sensor is exactly what I was looking for, but this new purifier is useless unfortunately when it comes to auto mode. You might as well purchase an old manual air purifier and change the fan speeds every time you cook or smoke or do anything remotely pollutant to the air since the auto mode on this is worthless. Why would they setup so many amazing features for a lower end model (600s although more powerful) and skimp out on the features and great sensors on the expensive Everest model? It baffles me. So please do not waste your time and money on the Everest thinking it’s going to do wonders as it’s not. The only upside to the Levoit Everest is that it looks good. Nothing more. Oh, and for some reason the adjustable blade for outflow blows all the air to the right of the machine for me. I am seriously so upset that I traded my 600s for this thing and paid a lot more for it too.
This is a superb unit, well designed with an excellent feature set. Although a large unit, it’s not too big, particularly given the amount of air it can process. It’s well constructed, using high quality materials and very quiet in normal use. When it detects poor air quality it can be set to automatically increase the fan speed which, although noisier, is not excessive and soon reduces as the sensor detects the air quality improving. As a bonus, if you decide to use the app, it’s easy to setup and provides a couple of extra functions. Finally, I had a minor problem with a rattle from the fan and had to contact Levoit customer support. Their response was friendly, timely and quite simply outstanding; I had a replacement unit within a week. Highly recommended.
First of all from reading the reviews on this machine is deceiving because most of the reviews are for the 400 machine, not the 600, although the 600 does have favorable likes, from all the positive reads on this machine it sounded almost to good to be true, I already have 5 air cleaners in the house ranging from $160-$600 not to mention a whole house filtration electrostatic cleaner, what I liked about this machine is that it has a drum 360 filtration Hepa 13 filter..very easy to clean and change out, the machine is almost silent until you move up to speed #3, where this machine falls short and fails in its highly Touted AirSight Plus ”Laser Smart Sensor” technology claims to be so accurate is 2x as accurate as an ”infrared laser , great claim only the one I purchased, only detected 5ppm for the first minute than dropped down to 1, that was in our den, than I decided to put it in our bedroom, thickly piled carpet lots of traffic same exact results started out on 5 than dropped to 1 again, same thing in the spare bedroom, living room than I ever shook the pets planet he sleeps on, I know it’s full of dust and dander and shook it right up against the sensorsame exact result, another 5 than after a min it dropped to a 1, than I took it down into the basement again 5-1 reading, than finally opened the big sliding patio door and put the machine right up against the screen , it’s got to show a different reading than 5-1but no, so there is an astronomical coincidence all of the rooms I tested this in, my den, living room, bedroom basement and then outside all had the same exact reading, or it’s not functioning correctly so I called Amazon customer service and they Concurred and sent me out a replacement so I just received it, brand new, opened it today set it up and immediately again the sensor started out on 5 and within a minute dropped down to 1this machine has a major major major flaw, it’s AirSight Plus technology is not working properly, I’ve seen YouTube videos showing detected readings as high as 80+ ppm and than the longer the Levoit 600s unit ran, that number would drop down until eventually red (bad air quality) ring dropped down to yellow than the blue ring (good air) was finally present, so somewhere these are working, and I also took the replacement machine in 4 different rooms plus the pets bed shake test and patio screen door testagain all rooms plus outside air 5-1 , not 5,4,3,2,1, it would 100% of the time go from 5-1, another defective unit, I hope this is an isolated situation but I have a feeling I will be returning the replacement also.
Update;
I sent the first one back within the 30 days, Amazon sent me out a replacement, this one works as promised, the laser smart sensor works as described, I have had it now for over 3 months and it has been working like a charm, once again Amazon has amazing customer support they took back the first one and in two days had the replacement just wanted to give it sometime before doing another update, this is my favorite easy to use efficient air cleaner yet, the 360 filter is so easy to replace I have asthma and this has helped me breathe much better, if they made one of these even bigger with this type of circular drum filter, I would buy it in a heartbea
So, it arrived yesterday (18.Aug. 2022) and i was so excited to see how good it is (i own 1 philips ac3259 and a meaco 119×5 – which got the motherboard fried after 5 years). The Meaco was the first one which, in the first week, i could feel a mountain like cold clean and fresh air. But after that was just cold air..first filters changed after 2 years (the light came out) and then every year) The air coming out from philips is just cold air with a tint of plastic smell and is asking me to change the filter when the filter was clean (i know how a dirty filter looks like) so the sensor is programed to let you know after 6 months that you need to change it (even if you don’t needed it), but has a better filtration i think (the filters are very thick) . I was thinking to buy other brand (blueair 221) but they use an ionizer that you cannot turn off, as well as winix (pure s – plasma technology) and we all know that ionizers are bad for respiratory system.
NOW! this piece of equipment looks different. Is lighter than all my purifiers and more powerfull (even if it says 600+ m3/h cadr i guess is more like 400… i can say that the meaco had the same power (for what i used) . My wife boiled some chinese noodles with spices (while boil the spices it will tickle your throat and make you cough) and the levoit was showing 001 and blue light(best air) all the time. This morning i fried some eggs with chorizo and picked up the smell (so showing red and 230). Then i had painted some things in the other room and it picked that up as well. Also the deodorant and my daughter nappy but not the superglue smell (at 3mm distance from the sensor). So Don’t know how how precise is the sensor. Also the filter is in one piece and even if it’s big, the filters are not that thick so, don’t know about filtration.. We will see.
It works clean (no clicks, no vibration no loud sounds).Overall i am happy at this point. I am giving 4 stars at this point because of the price.
