I’m really impressed. My first oled tv. The blacks are so dark and the picture is crystal clear. The menu is a bit clunky. Has this onscreen mouse pointer thing but got used to it. Had to use vivid mode to get the most brightness from it when using it in a bright room. Perfect for gaming and there is a gaming mode for quick refresh rates and less blur. I can’t believe how thin the tv. Is is as thick as my mobile phone for most of the screen and only big where the electronics are. The menu sometimes has a lag on it but it’s not a deal breaker. Price is good now as they are getting cheaper for even the larger screens. Sound is okay but I’m using a sound bar now. Oled is the way.
Nice product fast shipping careful packaging very thin panel and easy to set up picture quality awesome sound as well
The TV is incredibly thin at the top end, is light and easy to set up. It integrates well with my apple smart home and I’ve found connecting peripherals to be easy and stable. The picture quality is fantastic and, whilst I use it in the bedroom so don’t have to battle with sunlight, will happily watch it with the lights on without feeling like the picture is dulled which is often the complaint with OLEDs. However, the real benefit of this tv is being able to buy an actual OLED panel at under 700 pounds. That’s something that seemed impossible even two years ago. And, despite the value for money, the tv is still well made. A great buy.
I bought this because it had dropped to 669, which is a good price for an OLED tv. The only fault I can find is the picture is a little dark even with all the settings turned up and it’s not great in a bright room. If you want a brighter picture go for the LG C2 which also has a better refresh rate for gaming but you will pay over a third more. For everyday viewing the A2 is fine. The magic remote is a big improvement on the standard LG remote. To appreciate an OLED tv though you need to view in 4k. Can’t go wrong at this price which is cheaper than most QLED tvs.
If you love films or sport then this OLED is for you
So after looking around for a while we decided to go for i
Great value for money I brought it black Friday and I’m so happy with the quality, size and volume. Haven’t brought a new TV for years and was very impressed with my choice
Awful remote control. I bought a standard LG remote for 10. Much better.
The difference in sound and picture quality when watching movies is just unbelievable
Update
5 days later and a lot of negotiating with Amazon, they credited me the value of a TV stand which I ordered and arrived yesterday, so problem resolved.
I can say, the TV was easy to set up with a virginmedia box but a good quality HDMI cable is essential. Picture and sound are outstanding, and despite the initial problems a great purchase!
Stars amended accordingly.
I’m sure the TV is brilliant however, this arrived without feet or stand so unable to use and review. Supplier unwilling to help however, Amazon sorted and arranged next day uplift and immediate account credit. Will reorder from a different supplier.
LG OLED A2 55″ Review:
Note: I picked this TV up from a third-party Amazon seller for 759. (November 2022)
Through reading online reviews before my purchase, the major issue I had seen noted was that the OLED display of this TV was not bright enough. From hands-on experience, this is not true. The screen is more than bright enough for the majority of use cases. This may only be an issue if you place the TV in a room with lots of sunlight, e.g. a conservatory.
The TV design is sleek.
It is thin, light and has small bezels which is great.
WebOS is easy to navigate and has an almost unlimited range of capabilities paired with its app store.
Additionally, the cursor is a nice addition with the ‘Wii’ style point and click system. I suggest anyone to go into the settings and turn down the sensitivity of this however as it’s hard to get to grips with initially.
The image quality of this TV is ludicrous. Our previous TV was a Plasma TV from 2010 which was 1080p. The step-up in quality is more than noticeable.
After testing the TV for 10 minutes, it became impossible to go back as your eyes adjust to a new standard of clarity and color. As the display is OLED, the black levels are obviously flawless also, especially within nighttime footage.
This TV is an easy recommend to anyone looking to get a new TV that will stand the test of time as more and more content is produced in 4K UHD HDR etc.
Additionally I paired this with the Govee T2 Dreamview camera and LED system which is also a great addition to the display, extending the live image colors from the back of the TV.
Bit the bullet to buy an OLED TV and I’m not disappointed. The TV looks the part, very very slim but to the point where I was worried about moving it. Once set up on the wall, it looked great. This is my first LG tv and won’t be the last, the WebOS is the best I’ve ever experienced, smooth navigations without the delay like you get on most tvs.
The pointer cursor is truly a great feature and is very handy.
For the TV itself, the picture is absolutely fantastic. After researching, the LG OLED A2 is the entry level TV to the OLED products, this is the best viewing experience I’ve had so I can’t imagine what their more expensive range will be like.
Great TV and worth every penny if you’re considering the upgrade from UHD 4K
Incredible clarity for the price. Upgrading from your first smart tv to this is well worth it. Don’t get it if you move your tv a lot it weighs a tonne
