The best tv I have ever owned, picture quality unbelievable. I would suggest a soundbar as the sound quality isn’t the best.
Fantastic picture quality where all colours imaginable are displayed with cinema quality sound. A beautiful looking TV offering so many device options
I use the TV as a monitor for my PC at 120Hz, it is simple amazing how good it is for a monitor. It is sharp, vibrant colours and the oled it’s the best!
It’s cheaper that my last monitor 38″ from LG and it’s much better!
Very pleased with both picture & sound quality and compatible with a contemporaneous upgrade to Sky Q and fibre Wi-Fi. The only disadvantage I can see is the ‘ease’ that certain functions, such as Audio Description and Audio Guidance, can be accidentally activated and the subsequent difficulty in reversing unwanted features. Possibly this may become easier with increased familiarity but the swear box is groaning under the weight.
After much research I went for the LG C2. I liked the true black colour you get with the OLED technology, which transforms any video with dark scenes. Can’t really complain about anything…apart from the annoying Alexa thing which keeps asking me what I want to watch. I’m sure I can turn it off in the settings somewhere!
I would recommend the Oled to anyone!
Best T V and so easy to use and picture is great.
Company Delivery very good service
I would have given 5 stars if the webos system allowed the freedom of a android one.
If you’re looking for a vibrant colors that looks like the real thing, look no further.
This TV’s picture quality is perfect out of the box.
Gaming on the c2 is the best experience weather you are on ps5 or Xbox serious s/x or pc you will love this tv
Amazing quality, complimented with the LED back-light, it works really well!
Set up wasn’t too painful either. Worth spending a bit more cash on this particular model too.
Great TV apart from the sound. I’ve attached an old sound bar to make it half decent. My previous model LG OLED from 2019 has far superior sound.
The fancy “magic” remote control doesn’t help. You have to use it like a laser pointer to point at options on screen to do almost everything, so if you have shaky hands that is very hard. What’s wrong with buttons on the remote like everyone else has? e.g. pausing playback requires opening a menu, selecting the pause icon on screen and clicking it accurately. Too hard.
Just put the control buttons on the remote. Also, the remote uses Bluetooth so can’t control other set-top boxes that use infra-red. A step backwards for no apparent benefit.
“Filmmaker” mode setting for the picture quality seems to produce the best image from my subjective view. This is also recommended by some technical reviewers I read before I bought the set. It is supposed to make the image look like the creator intended without altering the colour balance etc. Seems to work. All the other default picture modes are far too garish for me.
The TV is designed much more for streaming services than for just Freeview TV. I guess modern folk don’t want to watch TV anymore. It took me 2 and a half hours from unpacking to being able to watch Freeview TV from the aerial and another fortnight before I had kicked it into a state where it stopped showing me adverts, logos and “have a nice day” messages at every opportunity.
The sound is quite adequate from the built-in speakers but again, it needs a bit of tweaking in the hidden settings to get it just right. “Standard” sound setting with a few tweaks to bass and treble seems to be about right for me, but obviously that is a personal subjective matter.
When will the industry introduce a common standard for hdmi arc to that it works reliably first time all the time?
Then can hit the home button and stream content via the smart TV aspect in 4k (Netflix etc does not stream 4k In a web browser on pc) so the LG webos is a good solution.
My only gripe is the flimsy plastic feet which are fiddly and brittle when installing, just be cautious.
But definitely bang for buck If you want a decent gaming screen, bigger than a monitor, exceptional quality.
For productivity and web surfing it’s good but there is an auto dimming feature that dims the screen after a while. I have to move the web page I’m on around the screen to get the full brightness back.
For gaming and content consumption like movies, TV, YouTube and Twitch it is awesome. Gaming in particular. I find myself admiring the picture quality all the time instead of playing the game.
Due to OLED TVs not being very bright I’m not sure how it would perform in a very bright sunny room but it looks good at all times of the day in my office. It’s a shame there is no Display Port on the TV. At this price maybe there should be?
I can’t comment on the sound quality as I use external speakers.
Picture quality left us speechless, it has most if not all mainstream streaming apps included such as YouTube, disney+, Netflix etc.
It is great to watch movies as well as play on the console such as PS5 and the audio quality is fantastic, we use 10/100 audio volume and that’s pretty loud so we felt no need to enhance our experience with cinema stereo.
Assembly was tricky as the monitor is very thin and wide so I had to be extra careful, keep in mind another person for help when you will be assembling it.
I have watched various reviews and experts talking about all kinds of technical details which I don’t fully understand. In the end I just went with what looks good to me.
The only minus points are that setting up an LG account was very fiddly involving an LG app. The “magic remote” is also fiddly for me. I confess I have not really utilised the voice remote function.
Overall though this is a great TV, great picture and sound and I love it !
Arrived with the new WBE panel (confirmed by checking service menu) manufactured 9/22 in Poland.
Bit of a hassle to get set up as some settings are hard to find (specifically turning off auto brightness), controller also has no backlight.
Aside from that, so far so good, very happy
very pleased with my purchase. do not phone up about the “code” for the guarantee. its just a scam to try and sell you extra insurance. plus you want endless calls back from a private numbe
Edit(2 months) – Ok I was maybe slightly harsh regarding the apps and so on, the thing that annoys me the most is the wheel on the remote control.
We had our last LG TV for fifteen years and so we were confident in buying LG again.
The picture quality really is amazing and black is black. It also doesn’t dominate the room as we had a 37″ last time and was worried about what size we should go for.
It’s still new but the connectivity seems good we just have to learn all the functions
Yes it is expensive but you get a 42″ TV not a scaled down 65″ that takes away picture and sound quality by reducing the size.
The issues only really become apparent if you opt to use this as a PC monitor.
The issues mainly revolve around HDR support, (which you can apply to any HDR display). A lot of apps don’t properly support HDR and have trouble delivering an uninterrupted signal via HDMI; this problem being more apprent if you create digital content.
Apps like Photoshop or any Adobe product are well known for their HDR troubles, and it isn’t limited to just those tools. The amount of unnecessary hurdles I’ve had thrown into my workflow because of HDR has made the upgrade annoying and more of a hindrance.
Obviously this isn’t a reflection on the C2 itself, and it wouldn’t be fair to level criticism especially since its marketed as a TV. But if you plan to use this as a monitor keep in mind that HDR could cause you some issues.
I just thought it would be useful to point out the potentially frustrating process of realising this probably isn’t a great idea for your desk… Not only that, this is far too big for a monitor, please don’t buy this for your PC! It was a stupid and costly mistake.
However, that said I only gave this 4 out of 5 stars because I am very happy with the TV and although technically, and feature-wise, it is outstanding there are some basics that are just silly.
The Cable
This TV comes with a pre-attached, which is about 2 meters long this model OLED65C26LD (white back) the wire that goes inside the TV. You would need to take the TV apart to disconnect it. I believe that the other model the OLED65C24LA (black/grey back) may to have a cable that you could *possibly* reach without taking the TV apart. Additionally, if you could get the lead out it is some LG specific cable (if you look at the dismantling instructions on LG’s website you can see how to disconnect the cable).
The cable could have simply been something like a C7 cable that fits flush into the back of the TV, where the existing lead is, as this would be easily disconnected and replaced with a longer one if required.
Initial Setup
On initial setup the TV asks if you are watching a variation of TV Only, TV and Set-Top box. It would have been nice to have a Home Theatre selection at this point as I would think that many people buying a TV at this price would have an AV Amp in a Home Theatre setup However, if you are using a Home Theatre system you need to select TV and Set-Top box and then when your device is detected you need to ensure that you select Home Theatre, rather than Sound Bar or any of the other settings that it suggests. While this is very simple to do at initial setup time. It seems that if you just go with what it has detected it seems impossible to change it afterwards (I had to do a factory reset to be able to set the TV up again and get a picture via the AV AMP).
Once you have configured the TV correctly then setup is pretty simple after that, even if you are using a Home Theatre system with ARC/eARC.
Screws
This TV requires M6 25mm screws at the back, this information doesn’t appear to be listed in easy to find places. The manual states that it is an M6 but only when I had the TV could I measure the depth to know that a 25mm screw would go in far enough but not too far.
The Controller
The all the buttons on the controller are black backed and are hard to see in low light they do not light up, they do not glow in the dark and they’re not even silver. It would have been nice for the buttons to be visible in low light situations.
sd is very good ( tv is upscalimg and tears are less visible but one thing is .. once on the stand the display tilt backwards and it is noticeable
i’ve search online to see other with the 77 inch model and i can only find topic relevant to last year c1 and cx and apparently it’s a design feature to help with reflection and balance ..they said costumer service will tell you this but i cant see any mention on the instruction..so i wonder why its that ?maybe they wanna keep us calm while its a defect from the stand?? i dont know..
well it awful so i had to put a thin book under the stand to make it straight
feel stable but i should t do this on a over 3 grand television
find the energy saving setting and disable it was a nightmare either
it’s well hidden on general setting
update after 5 days
i’ve removed the book from under the stand as i felt it was too unstable
i will have to deal with the tilt im afraid
update after a month
LG asked for pictures as they confirmed every Sigle display should stand perfectly straight
only a few degrees they are tolerable they say
once they check the pic they may send out another stand , they said
I’ve attached pictures and i will update this too
Amazon and LG both 10/10 for Customer Service
i was expecting it from Amazon, not from LG ,was a pleasant surprise
