Brought as a gift son is quite happy with it so no complaints
Been using a cheap Chinese microphone for a few years now….. that started to crackle and lose connection. Wished I had bought this years ago…. it is awesome! Sound quality is superb, I work remotely so quality on meetings is imperative and this delivers time after time.
For the high end of the range, the device is definitely a quality build.
The only big drawback is the USB-Micro connection instead of USB-C, although aftermarket adaptations are available, the system really needs this by default.
Another challenge is the software on G-Hub is not working as well as i would expect. I can record but not play back the loop there for my testing. I know its recording and windows recorder and other online tools are definitely using it for the recording. But the software clearly has a bug in it for this testing.
Excellent software, excellent mic.
But the downside is it’s toooo THICC
Like it gets annoying having it on a stand, you can buy a 3D printed mic arm for tidyness but this thing is still MASSIVE and HEAVY.
I had a software bug and also the thing was just annoyingly too large so I returned. But 4 stars because Logitech have knocked it out the park with the tech.
Got this through the amazon warehouse for 90, couldn’t ask for a better bargain!
Was in perfect condition, only the packaging was a bit worse for ware.
Only downside of this is the blue yeti software which provides voice alteration (great!) but it’s difficult to hear what I’m saying while using them (not great). FYI I use this mic exclusively while using discord.
Considering getting a microphone Arm so it’s not in the way of my keyboard
This is a mike that works well if you get close to it. If you can get this close to your face, the quality is superb. The built-in compressor and gain filters make you sound deep and rich and solid. Set it to Carotid, move it in close, and never touch the pattern selector again.
The stand is heavy and solid and offers some insulation from desk noises. Moving it into a shock mount removes almost all the background noise and I’d recommend doing this if you have the budget.
It’s not a perfect device though, and I have encountered a couple of annoying issues, specifically:
I’ve had some issues with the USB. When I unplug it and plug it back in, it is sometimes not detected. This is with a Macbook. It doesn’t happen every time, but when it does happen it’s annoying. The only solution I have found is to turn the mac off and on again, which is definitely suboptimal. This hasn’t been an issue with my Mac Mini.
Another big issue for me is the pattern selector. It’s a rear-facing push button that is super easy to click by accident. The old Yeti had a chunky dial which was much more difficult to accidentally activate. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve pulled in my mike, accidentally touched the button, and destroyed my recording. The only way to check if you have done this is to physically turn the microphone round which is not something you want to be doing mid-stream. The touch button looks prettier, but if you’re going to use a touch button, you need to be able to see the visual feedback, and on this mike you can’t.
The other issue is if you fold the microphone into its stand without unplugging the cable, the stand acts like a blunt guilotine which can easily snap a cable. Worse still, the USB port on the mike can be damaged. This has happened a couple of times to me when I left my microphone on the desk and is how my last Yeti died.
Overall, the sound quality is excellent. This is a popular microphone for a reason and I strongly recommend it. It’s super simple to use, requires no additional setup, and if you get it close to your face, will make you sound professional. My last Yeti lasted for ten years before eventually giving up the ghost.
A solid, reliable unit with a couple of annoying UX issues.
I bought this mic to replace my 3 year old dying Yeti Classic mic, sure its a bit pricy, but this Yeti X Pro, OMG I like this mic, it comes with a nice volume meter so you can see how loud you are on your mic.
Lets hope I get more than 3 years out of this mic.
Feels like quality. It’s heavy and feels beautifully crafted. I’m not sure USB micro was the way to go for the cable connection on the mic, though. I would have gone for C for what is a premium product. I’ve not yet had the chance to try it on a Mac, but will update the review if/when I do. So far, the software seems pretty good for Windows.
This is a great mic and has very good, clear and realistic sound. It’s quite pricey but offers good features including a dial for mic level, a mute button and four patterns making it very versatile. Price will put some off and some of the other Yeti mics offer some of the features at a lower cost. The other thing is the size, its huge and I’m not sure it has to be. When sitting on my desk, it often covers some essential bits of the screen and I’m constantly having to look around it to see what’s going on. Overall, very pleased with it. Boom.
Everything I needed for creating narratives for online training courses – definitely the one to buy!
One word of warning: it’s so sensitive, it picks up everything, so make sure you really don’t have noises like people outside or in the next room, you’ve had a drink of water (it will record clicks from a dry mouth!) and you have noise reduction software to remove background noise from a pc or suchlike.
Really good purchase!
I bought this because I was stuck with the PS5 headset microphone. The sound quality is crystal clear and sounds great.
It’s heavy and feels like a quality product. It did fall off the table whilst setting it up and no damage whatsoever so it’s a sturdy piece of equipment.
For the price though, if they threw in a pop shield or even a cheap but sturdy mic stand would have made it perfect. Slightly overpriced compared to the older blue yeti models with what this and they offer.
My only gripe is that I’m using it on the PlayStation 5 and they did not release an app to get the full usage out of it. If the PS5 gets the app I will be more than happy with it.
This is an excellent mic, loads of mode to suite all setups, can be used on the desk or arm mounted. The software allows for different room types and the type of sound you are after, such as radio etc. Beware though it can pick up a fly farting at the other side of the room. It won’t disappoint as it is far far superior to other mics and built in ones.
Mic is pretty good for gaming and streaming but do keep in mind that it wont sound perfect out the box it takes a ton of preperation and micro management to make this sound voice actor worthy.
Son bought this from his pocket money..since then I invested in some earplugs as he likes to yell and scream with his friends while gaming..works brilliantly,he is way too happy with it..now I “suffer”
I bought this to do a Youtube video on USB mics and being in the audio business for the last 20 years I expected it to be lacking.
I have to say for the money this mic really did impress me. No, it’s not as good as the mics I use daily, but that would not be a fair comparison, the mics I use normally plug into a pre-amp and cost 5X the cost of the Yeti. But for a simple USB mic that’s a little over 100 I was really impressed.
It’s built like a tank and the controls are located within easy reach and are clearly labelled. If you want great audio without having to spend a lot of money or investing the time to learn the complexities of audio this is the mic for you.
Would recommend this mic, is very good for quality/streaming and gaming. However I did return my yeti in favour of the Shure USB mic as the Yeti is not perfect perfect for my setup and often picks up a lot of unwanted background noise that the Shure mic doesn’t.
I think the mic’ is very stylish and well built. I love the four polar pattern options for different circumstances and the G-Hub software useful for adjusting the mic’ without having to touch it when it’s in positon. The blue voice option is also useful at times for dialogue. I use the output jack from the mic’ connected to my mixer to enable adding effects when performing, for example adding reverb/delay to an acoustic guitar and it works very well like this.
I did have a problem initially straight from the box the mic kept disconnecting when moved and then back on again. I contacted customer support and they sorted it out by replacement. With the new one there have been no problems at all. Very pleased with the mic’ and would definitely recommend to other audiophiles.
I needed a microphone to make asmr content but didn’t have the money or space to invest on a full set up with a mixing board and all of that. With this microphone I can easily record through Garage Band and have great audio quality for my videos. I really like that it has an audio jack so I can listen back as I’m recording to make sure everything sounds great.
I have been using this mic for a couple of weeks now.. Use for work – consultations on an internet platform.. So it is well used approx 18 hours per week.. I like the ease of adjustment. Four different microphone options allow you to choose the sort of sound. The stereo separation is very good. I am using the headphone socket on the base of the Blue.. This means that I get a monitor of what the mic is sounding like – and I can hear my own voice!! This gives a more natural sound effect and makes the consultations much easier. Overall a good buy. Hopefully this will last, my purchase is based on the idea that the cost of this microphone will give a long life??
The mice performs well and comes on a sturdy stand, although the sound quality is a little quiet it’s nothing that can’t be fixed with the volume nozzle. It did, however, come with a faulty usb cable that caused it to be unrecognised by my pc. After a few attempts and me worrying the mic was faulty, I switched the cable out for one of my old ps4 controller chargers and it works just fine now.
Amazing microphone, I went from a cheap 20 mic to this and it was an amazing upgrade, I would never have to purchase another microphone as this would last a very long time, the sound quality and the logitech software is great, well worth the investme
Bought to allow easier conferencing family but also for work, has made a big difference to on line meetings for being heard (I now never have problems).
Build quality is excellent and you can buy a cheap boom if required though the stand it comes with is very good as well.
Nice sounding mic for streaming! Although the cable that comes with the mic broke within 2 days for me so I’m now using a PS4 controller charger. Good looking mic and quality but be ready to replace cable!
This microphone records excellent sound quality, better than any microphone I previously has ever had access to. The Logitech software is easy to use and offers a great deal of control. The only real issue I’ve had with it is it’s quite heavy and that has a tendency to put strain on the USB cable. The cable that shipped with it has already broken. For the price charged for the device, a more robust cable would probably be the simplest solution here.
Absolutely top-notch sound quality… when you can get it to work!
Love this microphone; with the LG software, allows you to set up the sound profile to match the use – I have it set to broadcaster mode predominantly as it is used primarily for Microsoft Teams, Webex, Cisco or Zoom meetings.
Once set-up and working, it is a super microphone – complete with headphone attachment for convenience. I have mine approximately 1 metre away and, with a pop-shield, it has an amazing quality of pick-up and the sound (I am told) is crystal clear.
The downside? The supplied micro USB is awful! I have lived with horrendous connectivity issues. It was fine for about the first 3-months, then I started to experience intermittent connection drop-outs – I only noticed because I use the headphone attachment and the mic and sound defaults back to my Logitech camera when the mic fails. The lights on the front of the mic often stay illuminated even though the mic has lost connectivity.
Eventually purchased a high quality, third party micro USB cable – didn’t expect much as I thought (wrongly) that the issue would be with the female connector built into the mic. What a difference! The mic is now super… excellent tight connection and never had any issues since the cable replacement.
For an expensive device, Logitech (who have bought this company) should prevent the units shipping with such as inferior cable which can ruin the reputation of what is otherwise a brilliant microphone!
I’m brand new to streaming and treated myself to this mic. Managed to fit it on to a previous boom arm I was given with no trouble. Sound is really good and features are really easy to use. This thing will pick up the sound of a fart on the other side of the room so beware with your settings. Overall I’m really enjoying it. It is expensive, I think with research you could probably get one that sounds just as good for less, but I feels likes it’s build to last and I’m happy with it.
Use this every weekday and it is amazing. I have two Ruark MK1 speakers – also superb – and in meetings the noise cancelling on this mic handles audio from the other participants with ease. Build quality is peerless, and the Logitech software is beautiful. Worth testing which voice mode suits you best. Has made working from home immeasurably better.
I use this microphone for gaming and recording – the quality is truly amazing for a USB mic. For reference I have attached it to an arm rather than using the desk stand.
My only concern is with the USB cable that came with the box. The quality wasn’t great and it regularly fell out of the port even with cable grips. I’ve since replaced it with a higher quality Micro-USB for 6.99
A high quality product from Blue, which is owned by Logitech. So far I can’t fault it, it’s a great looking piece of kit, easy to use and is well made. I have always trusted Logitech when it comes to hardware/peripherals, mostly in regards to their gaming mice and headphones.
It’s pricey although I guess you can spend a lot more, but I do love the build quality and the finish. It’s a great product! For someone who doesn’t have an audio engineering degree, I want a mic that I can easily record videos on my computer without massive background pick up.
I had a Rode NT mic and this had amazing quality, but picked up too much for a home studio (I don’t have insulated walls or anything, just a spare room). The LED feedback is a nice touch and the software for setting things up is easy to use. I find I don’t have to process my audio with this mic which has saved me a ton of time.
All in all, 9 out of 10. Only 1 point off for price, but you get what you pay for and I can’t find any other decent mics that have the level of built-in noise suppression and other features that a mid-level user like me needs.
This microphone provides wonderful quality audio and the mic itself feels extremely high end. I can’t see a scrap of plastic anywhere, lots of lovely brushed metal. Probably quite expensive really, but I think that the quality of the build will make this last a long time and therefore provide years of reliable use – worth paying a little extra for.
Great addition to the Blue family. If you have used the blue yeti before you will know what to expect with this. I personally didnt like the results of ther sound when used with the Logitech Ghub so I found the best sound achieved when using VSTs. This mic is highly sensitive being a condenser mic so make sure you start testing your audio gain at zero and then tweak your sound using the volume in EQ in the vsts.
Would definitely reccomend this for any youtuber…not sure how it would be with recording vocals for music but im sure with the right settings dialled in it will be achieved
I use this for video recording, song recording and online chats when gaming or skyping. The sound quality is superb and the live feedback the mic offers both through visual volume meter and the headphone input is very useful when recording. I also like having the flexibility of four modes to record on the mic. Making podcast creation with a person either side of the mic very easy. Superb build quality and a great looking mic. Thanks Blue.
I had a Blue Snowball, the main problem with that microphone is the back ground noise it can pick up on everything and when I plug it into a USB I had to go into my Control Panel in windows 10 to set it up every time I wanted to use it a real pain Never again will I buy the Cheaper version.
So I spent the extra money on the right Microphone for me the Blue Yeti X for gaming because it has it own Windows driver and software, plus you can change all the sound levels and custom level to your own way and this Blue Yeti X doesn’t pick up on all the background noise as well, and when I plug it into a USB it works with no problems be sure when buy this microphone at this price don’t buy the cheaper microphone booms they don’t last long and can’t take the weight, I lean the hard way so now I buy the Rode PSA1 Boom yes it’s one of the best booms on Amazon to use for the Blue Yeti x compare to the cheap copies
