Very good mouse. Comfortable to use. Easy to install. Very responsive

Loved how you could press the scroll button in to have quieter and smoother scrolling. Very responsive and has a superior ergonomic fit compared to other mouse I’ve owned.

Without doubt, this is the best mouse I’ve ever used. I previously used a Logitech M560, which was beginning to show signs of wear, and, having read the Amazon reviews of this mouse, I decided to replace the M560.

I’ve been delighted by the immediate response to the programmed buttons, which take me to three specific information sites, but I can’t pass an opinion about the mouse’s functionality for gaming because that’s not of interest to me.

I thought that the M560 was good but this is even better and I’d have no hesitation in recommending the Logitech MX Anywhere to any prospective buyer.

The battery holds me a long while and I’m able to connect to three Bluetooth devices plus any one with an USB port.

ergonomically designed, light-weight, scroll ring that moves like butter ~~~ extra feature buttons for more function that a mouse use to serve. and multiple screen control! I love it!

I have a MX Master mouse which I use at home but too big to lug around in laptop bag. Needed something with same functionality but a smaller form factor. MX Anywhere 2S fits the bill.

Comes with a dongle to connect to computer but can also just use bluetooth. 4000 DP so very smooth in usage. Can be connected to 3 different devices. I’ve connected to my laptop, a desktop and my Android phone.

Small enough to be portable and carried in my laptop bag.

This is a great mouse. It easy to grip, comfortable to use, wireless feature works great and good battery life!. Highly recommend this product!

I purchased this mouse for one cool feature and that was the turbo scroll function, this is perfect when viewing spreadsheets as it allows me to immediately move pages up or down in no time, far superior to normal mouse scrolls and time saving.

Of course this mouse offers other key features such as multiple device connection, 3 computers can be connected to this and you just press the button on the underside to select the computer you wish to connect to.

Set up is fast and my laptop immediately recognised the Bluetooth 5.0 mouse, no need for a USB dongle although one is supplied and would be needed if connecting to an older computer without Bluetooth 5.0.

The mouse is very comfortable to use for long periods and offers good grip at the sides and is easy on the palm.

Precision is awesome, although I don’t need that much precision, it isn’t a gaming mouse after all but at least I’m not noticing any lag.

Battery wise, well it has a built in rechargeable battery, this is recharged via a Micro-USB input, a cable is supplied, an hour or so and this mouse is fully charged and lasts forever, put it this way, I’ve only recharged this once and after 7 days with at least 5 hours a day use, the battery is still going.

Overall, worth every penny, happy to recommend.

This is a great mouse. The ability to connect via bluetooth is ideal for my Surface Pro 8 rather than relying on a unifying device via USB. So far it has worked on all surfaces without issue. I like the ability to unlock the mouse wheel to scroll rapidly through large documents. It’s also good to be able to pair and switch readily between up to 3 bluetooth devices.

This is far the best mouse i have used. the battery lasts so long, that i forgot when i charged it last.
can use on three different laptops or PC’s as it has 3 Bluetooth signals, that all you have to do is change the number you have set for the PC.

    no battery needed.

a mouse cannot get better than this.

I have bought cheaper mice over the past few years bu they have always failed in some respect as in the scroller being erratic or buttons failing. I picker this up for 29.99 and wish i had bought another. Battery lasts me around a week of heavy usage and has a DPI of around 4000 for which you need the software to download or it defaults to 1000 which is not quick enough for me. Flies across the screen now with minimal wrist movement. You need to download Logitech options to change the DPI. Battery charges pretty quick too so no worries about being left without a mouse. Perfect size for me as I like a slightly smaller mouse.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersPrimary requirement was for a mouse that I could pair with multiple devices, which this mouse does well. I have it connected to two Windows 10 laptops and an iPad. The auto-switch between laptops is amazing – it takes the contents of the clipboard with it when you auto-switch, so you can copy/paste between computers without a flash disk or shared network drive. Switching across devices that do not support the Logi Options software is still easy, by simply pushing a button on the bottom of the mouse.

Moreover, having used it for a couple of weeks now, I simply cannot find a surface this mouse doesn’t work on. It works on glass, wicker table, dressing gown, Very impressed.

Great mouse, very easy to configure and use. It has a very low profile making it ideal for travelling as it won’t take up much space. Despite its slim profile, I actually didn’t find it difficult or uncomfortable to use. I mainly got it for the rechargeable battery, and the battery life so far appears adequate.

once I got it paired it was a very good mouse not needed to recharge it yet so no idea how long a charge lasts

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAbsolutely loving this mouse. It came in a recyclable package. Took me some time to realise that the dongle is attached to one of the flaps at the opening. It is a very ergonomic, comfortable mouse. My hands are kinda smaller than usual so it fits perfectly. Wheel can be pressed down but doesn’t function as a middle click. Instead it allows you to use the wheel without any friction to scroll through for example multiple page documents extremely fast. There is a DPI button below, which I reprogrammed to work as a middle click to fix this issue for myself. There are two side buttons. Work on so far any surface I test it and it is very smooth. 5/5 for me personally.

A very good laptop/ tablet/ smartphone mouse. May be one of the best on the market for what it does.
Can be set up on multiple devices and can be used by three of them at the same time.
I don’t think its a gaming mouse due to lack of the button on the scroll but not all games or gamers need it.

I prefer the wheel system on the MX master, and I thought it had it according to the description. It still has a “freeable” wheel but without the inertia effect of the MX master.

No particular issue otherwise – it’s just a good mouse.

Works better on Linux due to the absence of the Logitech bloatware and a better default layout with the middle button. Also, surprisingly, the low battery notification works automatically on Linux by default (Ubuntu-derived, I didn’t try on Kali or CentOS etc.).

It could do with updating to USBC, but not worth paying double the money (the price difference between the MX Anywhere 2 and 3 at the time of purchase- early 2022).
I use mine for some casual (laptop) gaming and mostly as travel mouse for work, even passable in Bluetooth!
My 11yr son has one that is used for Fortnite gaming (on the wireless dongle) and although this doesn’t have the response of a dedicated, wired gaming mouse, it is very impressive.
I’ve also recommended this to several colleagues, all on whom have commented about how dependable it is.
Charge seems to last a couple of weeks of intermittent usage – I’ve never been left stranded in several years of using these, but if you have a charge cable, it still works while charging.

Tech support at logitech is appalling. Most of us have experienced being sent around the houses by support services, asked to repeat what you have already said. As a software professional I am not easily fobbed off, but Logitech support really are the worst I have ever experienced in my career and personal life. I ended up with transcripts of chat messages, and lots of emails which were copied into a letter to their CEO and head of customer service. The emails painted a damning picture of just how insulting and time wasting their tech support are – it seems like they are playing games at the expense of the customer. There is no escalation, no oversight and the agents are having a laugh at customers expense.

Dreadful, really really utterly utterly appalling professionalism and a disgrace to the good profession of customer service.

However, some of their products are good.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersMy wife wanted a wireless mouse to use with her laptop and this one seemed to fit the bill. First impressions weren’t great as the box it came in looked a bit scuffed, like it was old stock although not opened, and most of the writing was Chinese, so it felt a bit like a slightly iffy purchase, but once opened the mouse inside was new. It comes with a Logitech Unifying Receiver – a tiny USB dongle which you can plug into your computer and forget all about – which is slotted into a hole inside the packaging. The mouse itself is in a cardboard wrap, so full marks to Logitech for not using loads of plastic.

The mouse works immediately. Plug the receiver into a spare USB port, flick the switch on the bottom of the mouse, and it pairs straight away. It prompts you to install the Logitech Options application but you don’t need to, unless you plan to remap the buttons to suit your own needs. There’s a USB cable you can use to recharge the mouse, and you can use it while charging.

The mouse feels very small to me but my wife loves it. It’s not a gaming mouse but is fine for business use. The scroll wheel is textured and grippy, and if you push down on it it switches into a free spinning mode, which is great for scrolling up and down long documents or websites. Annoyingly, the wheel doesn’t work as a middle-click button, but there’s a small button just below it which defaults to being for gestures, but Logitech Options allows you to switch it to become a middle click. The left side of the mouse has two buttons which default as back and forward, but again can be remapped via Logitech Options. There are no buttons on the right of the mouse. The scroll wheel can also be rocked left and right to horizontally scroll, which is a boon for wide spreadsheets.

All in all it’s a nice mouse, smaller than expected, and my wife loves it. If you’ve got big hands though, or you want to use it for gaming, or you’re a big user of the middle mouse button, you may wish to look elsewhere.

The mouse is perfect, i brought this for my work laptop and my personal laptop and one feature it has is the abilitt to switch between usb to blutooth.
That option is fantastic for me as sometimes i use both laptops at home.
So if I finish work I can just press a button at the bottom and switch laptop.
I prefer this rarher than pulling outbthe USB.

The mouse feelsbgreat in the hand, I really like the design.

Negatives to point out is the mouse wheel is a bit different so this maybe a negative in some way for some people.
The mouse wheel has two setting, you can do rapid scroll or normal scroll and it’s activated by clicking the wheel down. It is different and I dont use the rapid scroll, it always ends up been a bit too annoying but it is good to scroll through lines and lines of data in Excel for example.

Itnhas two buttons on the side that you can program. Yoy need to install the software and you can set buttons to do what you like. It’s really good.

The most important part of the review now…
    The battery…
I use this mouse every single day (limited on the weekends) I use it for 8 hours at work and then some after.
Ive had this mouse for about 2 years and Ive charged it about 5-10 times. Seriously the battery is incredible.
I looked for ages to findna mouse that had a good battery (note this is an internal battery)

You can usebthe mouse with the usb charging cable plugged in.

You do get a warning when the mouse drops below 30%.

It fits perfectly in the hand, it feels good.

It has teo programable side buttons and one one the top. They are handy and you can program them for each application.

I told my girlfriend about this mouse because she had a battery mouse and she is super happy with it.

The price is fantastic, you get serious value for money compared with loads of other mouse products out there.

Bought the Logitech MX Anywhere 3 for Mac to replace my current Apple Magic Mouse 2.

So far I’m very happy with the Logitech MX Anywhere 3 for Mac. I work as a Graphic Designer so I have been using the mouse for an assortment of projects such as Artworking, Video Editing, Image Retouching… Here is a list of reasons why I would choose this mouse over the Apple Magic Mouse 2:

    – It fits my hand better (smaller hands). More comfortable to use for long periods of time.
    – Can charge whilst still using the mouse.
    – Long battery charge. (Have had the mouse for a month, used everyday and still yet to charge it).
    – Easy to adjust pointer speed, scrolling speed, scroll force, side buttons on logitech’s free app. You can also have a different set up for different apps.
    – Ability to scroll easily with the ‘Free Spin Wheel Mode’ or Middle Button.

    Nitpicking Cons:
    – Sometimes the mouse diconnects and then reconnects but this happens very rarely and not enough to be an issue.
    – The left/right clicks are a bit on the loud side, again not an issue for me.

I was initially going to return this mouse because it felt too small but a few more frustrating hours with my broken MS mouse and little luck finding something else that appealed, I decided to take it for a dry run. Plugging the dongle into W10 (latest updated) and the mouse was recognised for wireless instantly. I didn’t install the software because I’m already running X-Mouse Button Control and these seems to work. I simply configured the additional buttons of the MX to perform the functions I wanted and was away.

I will stress again that the mouse is too small. The tips of my fingers rest just on the end of the buttons and my wrist touches the desk and I have small / medium hands for men’s gloves. Both old old MS mouse (came with the keyboard) and the MS Bluetooth Sculpt before that filled the hand much better.

The bad done, the good is why the mouse is staying. It has lots of buttons and they are not that difficult to use despite the size. And the buttons are smooth to use – almost touch sensitive. As the computer is a key part of my job, the full range of buttons makes completing common tasks quicker and painless. The mouse oozes quality, from the feel in your hand, to the decent weight to the smooth & very accurate tracking across my multiple monitors.

This mouse does lots more – which would explain the normally high price tag. It was on the Black Friday Sale and at just shy of 30, is worth the money. I can live with the size for its otherwise and excellent mouse.

Golden Review Award: 113 From Our UsersExcuse the tongue in cheek title to my review, but a prominent review left in 2018 stated that this MX Anywhere 2 Wireless Mouse was useless if you’re a designer because it hasn’t got a middle button. This is not true. If you follow the instructions and download Logitech Options, there is the option to assign the button under the scroll wheel in a number of ways, e.g. as a Middle Button (problem solved!), or as a ‘Gesture Button’ that can in turn be set to Pan in apps (making it easy to smoothly scroll in all directions) or perform different functions depending on which direction you move the mouse while holding down the button (e.g. rotation). It’s a fabulous feature.

I got this mouse for my Mac and PC. It is best to download and run Logitech Options first, and then connect your mouse for the first time. With Apple being very good at privacy protections, I had to enable ‘Accessibility’ and ‘Input Monitoring’ permissions for Logitech Options, but that was pretty straightforward.

I would recommend enabling ‘Smooth Scrolling’ in Logitech Options (in the Point & Scroll tab) – the scrolling looks much nicer when using the scroll wheel in free-wheeling mode.

I have the original MX Anywhere mouse, which has lasted a long time, but is heavier due to the need for AA batteries, something fixed by the lithium-ion battery in this 2nd generation.

Overall, I do recommend this mouse, especially when on offer.

This mouse has been amazing since I bought it back in June. The batteries have only just gone flat, and that’s me using it 8/9 a week. Best thing is it’s rechargable, put it on for 4 hours and were back to full charge again. For the price of this mouse that’s a great feature. The center scroll wheel has been a big help also when working needing to go through pages and basically scrolling down websites. Thats been using the free scroll and if you click it in it goes to a ratchet scroll feeling setting (It’s a mechanical setting so don’t worry about anyway software installation) The tracking on the mouse has been pretty spot on too with it only dropping out a few times when it struggles on uneven surfaces. It’s also had a 3 channel setting which is selected on the bottom of the mouse. This allows you to switch back and forth from different computers. I use this to go from my laptop to pc this is amazing when working on the pc and doing a bit of gaming or web browsing on the laptop. Theres only one downside for me and that’s the size of the mouse. I’ve been used to larger and longer mice before this so it feels like im having to arch my hand when using it which can lead to sore wrists after extended periods of time. That aside it’s a great little mouse for anyone from office staff to gamers who what more freedom. Great for the price and would recommend this mouse for anyone still undecided.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI don’t find Apple’s own mouse particularly comfortable, so I opted for the MX Anywhere 3 for Mac. I’ve been using it for a few days, and so far I’m quite happy with it.

I believe the only difference in the “Mac” version is that the included cable is USB-C to USB-C, which is used only for charging the mouse (which you won’t have to do very often I guess). Still, if you have a MacBook which has only USB-C ports, the cable is a nice addition to charge it on the go.

Some people complained that in previous models you can’t use the mouse wheel as a third button. You certainly can with this model. In fact, it has built-in profiles for things like Final Cut Pro, so you can use the scroll wheel as a button to play/pause or pan. All buttons are in fact customisable, including the little button above the scroll wheel. Just download the “Logi Options” app, and it’s easy to set shortcuts even for things like Mission Control, adjusting the brightness of the screen, etc.

The build quality is nice, and the sides of the mouse are rubberised and very comfortable. It is a compact mouse though, which is a plus when carrying it, but I wish it had a slightly longer profile.

A nice surprise was that the scroll wheel behaviour can be also customised with the Logi Options software. You can fix it to be only “free scrolling” or giving you a “tick” feedback (and even adjust how strong the “tick” feedback feels). The default behaviour is to shift to “free scrolling” when you scroll rapidly. You can adjust this threshold too, or just disable it altogether, whatever suits your preference.

Simple, straightforward and hassle-free; there’s really not much to add. I got this to share with my home iMac, work Dell laptop and my own 2010 Dell M6500; only the M6500 failed to work with Bluetooth (it uses an older Bluetooth technology, so you have to use the Unifying USB receiver – that works perfectly, but I had a spare mouse so didn’t need it). Switching between the iMac and the modern Dell laptop is easy – the mouse is visible to both, and doesn’t require any additional software to work.

The scroll wheel – with easy switching between clicky, detented movements and smooth frictionless scrolling – is comfortable and easy to use for side-to-side movements as well, and the mouse overall is compact and unobtrusive without being uncomfortable. It tracks well on most surfaces, including a trouser leg when just quickly working on location, and the charge lasts for ages.

A polished, reliable and robust mouse that offers great value on the frequently discounted prices you’ll find here. Plus, it has reduced plastic in the packaging compared to Logitech mice in the past – no sealed plastic knife-edge waste here, just a simple cardboard box with a mouse in.

You spend days, weeks, years holding a mouse for home and work computing, so they’re a very personal thing – mine’s been used so much since I got it that the buttons are shiny – and I haven’t regretted this purchase once.

Over the past 15 years I have tried various mice, track-balls and track-pads. I did quite like the trackball. I travel a lot with my work and my laptop, and generally I hate using the inbuilt trackpad for more than a few minutes. I tried various “travel mice” but found them small and uncomfortable to use.
I have no been using this Logitech Anywhere 2 mouse for around 5 year, and it is all round the best mouse I have used. I do not do gaming.
    – the laser tracking is superb on every surface I have used (I do carry a small roll-up mouse-pad with a wrist cushion, as I find that more comfortable for me)
    – The size of the mouse is large enough to be comfortable to use, yet small enough to be convenient to carry.
    – The on-of switch allows you to extend the life on a single charge (I find it lasts around 2-3 weeks in daily use)
    – the mouse can still be used when plugged and charging
    – the Logitech universal wireless adaptor is excellent (I also have a wireless Logitech keyboard).

The only negative points for me are that :
    – the mouse does not come with a travel case or bag of any type. I bought a basic case off amazon, which works well: ASIN: B07P8PMVL2 ; or ASIN: B01D194V24.

    – there is no set storage place for the wireless adaptor eg inside the mouse, as there was with earlier versions. (but I carry a small 4-port USB hub with my laptop and keep the wireless adaptor permanently in that. I do not keep it in the laptop usb socket, as it can catch when I slide the laptop into my back-pack, and I almost always want access to several USB sockets when working).

The first of those two cases DOES have a dedicated space for the wireless adaptor, but neither will accommodate the charging cable – but my phone uses the same cable connections as the mouse, so when travelling I have that cable with me anyway.

However, it is still my favourite mouse.

Update: 8 Feb 2020: I have just bought an Anywhere 2S. Unsurprisingly it feels the same as the Anywhere 2, it is a few grammes different in weight, but you cannot really notice this.

I feel that it the 2S tracking marginally faster and more reliably/positively than the 2, but there is no dramatic difference (I see from the specs that it has 4000 DPI resolution vs. 1200 with the 2, so maybe I AM seeing the result of that).
The Anywhere 2S has the “Flow” feature to operate with 2 devices – but generally unless that is important to you I am not sure the difference is worth paying extra.

EDIT June 2020: I have been using this mouse daily since I bought it. I am still happy with it. I have noticed that the battery life on a single charge is much longer than it was for the previous model.

I’ve got large hands and although a small mouse it is my favorite. I work in IT an have tried several different mice. This model being rechargeable is good. It is a major improvement on the previous model that has a problem with the mouse button micro switchs that go wrong after a lot of use. Working on any surface is very useful. I have noticed mouse tracking becomes a little erratic when in my case used on a wooden table top for weeks, I suppose it is a build up of oils from my skin on the wood, a good scrub of the table with detergent fixes the problem. Although a right handed mouse, the forward and back buttons are on the left, I use it in my left hand with no problems.
I had three of the old model each of which had the mouse button problem. I bought the new model for my wife as well as myself and we both use our mouse every day. We have had no button problems after several months of use. They use a different micro switch in the new model, I’ve taken both models apart just to know.
I lot more expensive than some other mice, but worth it.
I am happy to recommend this mouse.

This is a really good little mouse and works with its supplied dongle or with laptop’s built-in Bluetooth.

On Windows 10 it’ll work out of the box, but for extra customisation of the buttons, speed, scroll type and behaviour, it’s worth downloading and installing the software from Logitech. It’ll also tell you the battery status.

One feature of this mouse is that you can press the scroll wheel down to switch between a totally smooth, free spinning wheel (fun to play with!) or a more controlled, indexed, tactile mode, which is great for fine scroll movements. However, on my old mouse, pressing the scroll wheel acts as a “middle button” which I used to use (for example to open a browser link in a new tab). This is not available on this mouse scroll wheel, but it does have another button on the top and 2 on the side which can be assigned for the middle button feature if you want that.

If you don’t use the side buttons, they can be disabled, though so far, unlike some other mice, they’re in a good position so I don’t knock them accidentally.

It’s quite expensive, but feels pretty solid in the hand, and is a decent weight and quite nicely balanced. So I think it was worth the money, and it’ll last quite a while.

    Cons:

It’s not supplied with any sort of carry case (that’s extra and is expensive) but I have some other case to put it in.

Nowhere on the mouse to stow the VERY tiny USB dongle, so it’s prone to getting lost. Since I use Bluetooth anyway to save a USB port, I just stuck the dongle in a drawer and forgot about it.

Pair with up to 3 separate devices and just press the button on the bottom to select between them.

If you use it with your left hand, it’s pretty symmetrically designed, so left handed people should have no trouble using it, however, the two side buttons won’t be so easy to use, as obviously the thumb is going to be on the wrong side.

I use the mouse in office, which is easily 8+ hours a day and about 50/50 mouse keyboard usage. I exclusively use the dongle, no BT. Initially I charge it every week. But then I forgot and just used the mouse without charging. From memory, it must have lasted about 3 months before it stopped. It has been so long that I forgot the mouse has internal battery and I was looking for an opening to put a new pair of AAs in! Battery life is definitely exceeding expectation.

The scroll wheel in free scroll mode is excellent as I often have long files to browse through. However, I feel the mid button should be placed ahead of the wheel instead of below. This mouse is not big and clicking the low offset mid button is not too natural.

I don’t use gesture or need to remap the buttons so i only briefly used the software. It was ok, not amazing. But I use it in the office without any Logitech special software and it has been flawless. Default settings of the buttons are as expected so this is good.

A solid 4.5 * if I can rate it. But will round it down as I feel the mid mouse button is really not that comfortable, please move it to the front of the mouse!

I picked it up from a Black Frisay sale. If I should buy it for the full price, I would probably go for the updates 2S version, but whenever on discount, this mouse is probably the best COMPACT PORTABLE PRODUCTIVITY mosue out there. Logitech are known for quality products and this one is no different.

    Usage:
This now is my daily mouse. I like that I can connect it to 3 devices and switch between them with a press of a button on the bottom. The build quality is superb and the weight feels ideal. It is noticeable heavier than your cheap mice, but it gives you a sense, that this weight is the one you need. What I don’t like using it on Bluetooth connection is that it sometimes needs a moment to reconnect after waking up/unlocking your computer. So this is simething to keep in mind.

    Features:
The features are probably the biggest selling point for this mouse. THe programmable buttons make your everyday tasks much quicker. Like copy/paste, or during editing videos I have programmed the buttons to perform various other tasks. The cool thing is that when you switch a program you don’t need to reassign the buttons, the mouse just remembers them. This I find really helpful and productivity enhancing.

OVerall I do recommend this mouse, especially if you can snatch it up on a discount!

    Pros:
    – Battery life is amazing – lasts me easily more than 3 months on a single charge (could be 4 or 5, I kind of forget when I last charged it, so am going conservative) with Heavy use (average of 9-10 hours developer work + gaming a day).
    – Design – some might say it’s on the small side, but for a frequent traveler with a lot of gadgets in my backpack, this is the perfect size. Buttons are nice – not too noisy, and just the right amount of travel. The now standard extra function of the wheel where you can click to make it spin freely, is a good addition. I don;t really use the resolution setting button, but it’s nice to know I have the option.
    – Performance – works very accurately and truly on any surface. The black laser was one of the main reasons I bought this thing, and it’s doing it’s job.
    – Flexibility – I do use this with more than one device, and while the placement of the button is not ideal, being ale to just use the same mouse on up to three devices is really nice.
    Cons:
    – Pairing using Bluetooth is so hard as to almost not be usable. NOt sure if this is Windows’ fault or Logitech not having good drivers, but this needs to be fixed.

Overall: I’d say this is a pretty good mouse for pretty much anyone, but especially travellers looking for a durable, reliable and flexible mouse on the road.

This mouse is small and feels nice to use. The mouse wheel can be pushed down in to a free-wheel mode, and then a hefty flick sends it spinning to scroll down your whole document – feels very cool, and might avoid a little bit of finger ache at the end of the day from repetitive scrolling. The scroll wheel does not work as a button, but there is a little square “middle mouse button” just underneath it.

The mouse works well on Android 5 (Samsung Note 3) and Android 8 (Samsung Note8), and Windows 10 (on my Surface Book). By default the square button under the scroll wheel goes to the home screen on Android and seems to do nothing on Windows (it’s recognized as a middle mouse click by software that uses that).

I mostly have no noticeable lag with Bluetooth and the default built-in drivers or Windows Update. A Windows notification suggested that I install the Options software, so I did, and it adds some control over buttons and notifications of low battery. The middle button now brings up the Windows task view. No problems with the Logitech software noticed yet.

This mouse is also supplied with a Logitech Unifying Nano Receiver (LUR, a clever little USB device). The mouse comes paired with this, and some other Logitech keyboards and mice can also be paired with the receiver. This mouse can pair with 3 Bluetooth or LUR devices in total, and a little button on the bottom allows you to switch between them. To pair (or re-pair) to a LUR you need to download the Logitech Unifying Software. The mouse movement has been sometimes stuttery over Bluetooth, but not using the receiver. There is nowhere to store the LUR in this mouse, but it lives quite happily stored in a USB port of my laptop. An advantage to pairing the mouse to the LUR is that you can easilly move that between as many computers as you want without having to pair with each one – it just looks like a USB mouse and keyboard have been plugged in.

I paid 52.99 for the “Anywhere 2”. I bought the “AMZ” version, and that came in mostly cardboard packaging with “For Amazon” branding on the box. It’s only an extra 7 for the new model Logitech MX Anywhere 2S which supports the Flow keyboard and mouse sharing feature of the Logitech Options software (easy Keyboard and Mouse switching between computers, and copy and paste between devices).

I’ve put 4 stars not 5 because it seems silly to still be selling this over a year after the new model became available, and because there is nowhere to store the USB receiver.

Initially wanted the MX Master when there was a price drop in both but I went for this mouse instead due to it’s smaller form factor. Honestly was really impressed. Don’t be fooled by it’s small appearance; it is really comfortable and has a little weight to it (more so than it seems to appear). There is a slight bump on the right side of the mouse to allow easier resting position for the right-handed.
    Pros:
    1. Long battery life – (battery indicator can be seen through an app called Logitech Options) used it for 2 weeks after full charge before the 3 bar battery indicator dropped one bar and daily usage varies from 5-6 hours).
    2. Logitech Options software app – allows remapping of key functions for different apps (Chrome, Microsoft Word, PDF, Media Players etc.) and works smoothly while changing apps.
    3. Retains most functions of the MX Master except for the dedicated button for infinity scroll/ratchet scroll and horizontal scroll wheel – still able to side scroll but has no fine control over it).
    4. Connectivity – Bluetooth enabled or just use the dongle provided for wireless experience – dongle is compact enough to be left in a laptop; mouse still functions while charging through connection of a micro USB cable provided)
    Cons:
    * Wobbly and less pronounced scrolls while in ratchet scroll mode – not a build quality issue but more of a design issue (the scroll wheel is pretty heavy so scrolls might sometimes overextend; kind of like inertia)
    = Conclusion =
Really great mouse for what it does; a small, portable mouse for travelling in addition to solid software for different key configurations for different apps. Build quality and battery life is also top notch. Overall a good mouse for what it does and if you are in the market for a reliable yet portable mouse then consider this.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThe excellence of the original MX Anywhere, but now rechargable and can pair with 3 devices. Same size – easily fits in trouser pocket, even if you already had a phone in there. Couldn’t pair it on Bluetooth (Windows 10) so only using the tiny Pico receiver. The main reason I wanted to pair over Bluetooth was to avoid using a USB receiver (how ever small this Pico sized one is) – after a very reasonable 7 years, my previous receiver had enough of being lugged to/from work every day.

Being rechargeable makes it ultra light. A standard ‘Android style’ USB to USB-C cable is included and plugs in the front so you can use the mouse whilst charging (it still needs to be connected via the Unifying reciever or Bluetooth – it doesn’t turn into a wired mouse). I think they missed a trick not making the charging cable limp to resist less when the mouse moves. I found I could use standard Android charger and cable at your own risk) to charge it. The green charge light on the mouse changes from flashing to solid when fully charged (Logitech claim 2 months from a full charge).

Otherwise, everything is 5 star: the 2 version copes with glass well (Darkfield Laser for higher DPI accuracy), you can connect to 3 devices now, even the left/right scroll can be reassigned, when you reassign buttons it can be to start up e.g. Calculator, Cut Paste and all kinds of Windows shortcuts, any key combination (Alt+Tab is a dream to program in the Logitech Options software), or as a ‘Gesture’ button (you press, then moving mouse up/down/left/right means whatever you want e.g. zoom in/out etc. – all four directions can be customised actions/keystrokes).
The scroll wheel can be in ‘smooth’ or ‘click’ mode (use the software to set how many lines are scrolled per click): toggle by clicking down on the wheel. Left and right scrolling too (where applications support it) by clicking the scroll wheel left/right.

I haven’t found any evidence of the “AMZ” Amazon version having any differences other than a lower price and different Amazon stock number.
The MX Anywhere 2S is the same put supports Flow: cut’n’paste text, pictures etc. between 2 PCs on the same LAN with the Logitech software installed (but I’m guessing corporate networks and remote desktops will block that). Nice feature – will you really use it between 2 home PCs or your work PC allow it?

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThe “Logitech MX Anywhere 2 AMZ Wireless Bluetooth Mouse for Windows and Mac – Black” is a smaller and lighter alternative to the MX Master and older, discontinued MX Performance products both of which had seen in their turn considerable personal use over many years. Each was used for several hours daily and saw rather more use, and perhaps a degree of abuse, than most users’ mice will probably ever see. The series is known to be reliable and excellent performers.

The MX Anywhere is of a more normal design, lacking the left-hand-side extension that provides considerable comfort in use, while losing some of its shaping bias towards right-handed use and a little bulk and weight in the process. It also lacks the left thumb wheel and utilises larger forward and back buttons. In addition to supporting Bluetooth, it includes and can use Logitech’s Unifying Receiver. It is rechargeable via the provided micro-USB lead. A full charge of about 2.5 hours from flat can provide for several weeks’ of light-to-moderate use but up to three weeks’ of personal heavier usage. A quick 4-minute charge will give a full day of average use. There is a single LED bar below the Mode Change button and scroll wheel to indicate the charge level during charging; it flashes during charging but gives no indication of remaining charge until close to depletion and is solid green when complete.

In shape it is almost ambidextrous although the controls are clearly for right-handed use. It is of reasonable size, neither large enough to be awkward or inconvenient nor too small or too slim to be unusable; it is significantly lower in height than the MX range and flatter in profile front-to-rear. It could be a ‘universal’ mouse for family use as it more child-friendly or be reserved for use with a laptop as it is more easily transported.

Purchased from a ‘Deal’ at a significant saving, part of which is attributable to its ‘For Amazon’ branding.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis is a very nice mouse, and has a very solid build quality. It’s quite small, but as a portable mouse it’s perfect – those with bigger hands and/or desktop users may prefer a larger mouse, but it’s just personal preference really. The ergonomics are great, and it fits in my hand really nicely. All the buttons are easily accessible and have a satisfying click.

One of the things I didn’t like initially is the scroll wheel – it spins very freely, so it’s easy to over spin it when scrolling down pages – basically, small, controlled scrolling is fine, but when you want to quickly move down a long page you can easily overshoot the mark as the wheel keeps spinning after you want it to stop. However, if you press the wheel down firmly it will click into place, and that will stop it free spinning so you can more easily scroll without going further than you intend.

Battery life is great, and if you install the desktop software you can get battery life updates as well as extensively configure the buttons. It’s also very nicely presented in the box, so would be nice as a present for any nerds you know with birthdays coming up.

There is a function that allows you to control several computers, but I haven’t really had any need to use this. To be honest, I am a pretty goofy nerd and own several computers, but I can’t think of any situation that would warrant using a single mouse for all of them. However, the option is there if you need it.

Overall, this is definitely one of the nicer computer mice that I have used – as long as you’re not looking for something suitable for larger hands, I strongly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great mouse, pleasure to use

Excellent (so far, anyway): light, responsive, rechargeable. “nano” receiver is about as small as it can go. It’s a bonus that you can pair this with multiple computers (as long as they have a “unifying” receiver).

On which subject – the mouse failed to connect, until I ran the software and forced a connection. It’s supposed to connect once you press the button and install the receiver, but it just kept on flashing. If you have this problem, download and install the Logictech Unifying Software before trying to install.

The software that comes with it is poor – it gets the job done, but the interface is not intuitive and there is no obvious indication that what you’ve specified has been accepted. And if you don’t run it as administrator, half of the options are missing – but nowhere does it tell you this.

I stick with Logitech because of the performance – the mouse tracks on just about anything. But historically, the build quality has been fairly dismal. I have a Logitech wireless compact keyboard as well, which sort of ties me to the brand. If anyone else comes along with a similar combination that doesn’t suffer from the quality issues, I’m happy to jump ship.

This is my third or fourth MX mouse- you really have to regard them as a consumable, as they die relatively quickly – think of it more like rental than purchase. The switches go, or the scroll wheel becomes intermittent. Let’s see if this has any better build quality. I’m docking it a star for the poor software and the historic fragility.

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersI’ve had the MX Anywhere 1 (and the great VX Nano before that) mouse before and I’ve been generally satisfied with it. After purchasing the MX Master I’ve been extremely satisfied with the new features that this mouse did offer. Now that MX Anywhere 2 offers most of the MX Master features I’ve got it mainly as a mouse for my laptop and travelling as the MX Master is quite big for a travel mouse.

    Pros:

    * Rechargeable battery (recharges with microusb cable, from pc, power bank, mains – doesn’t matter). Might be a minus for some which prefer AA/AAA batteries. Official battery life is about 2 months.
    * Unifying AND bluetooth at the same time. I am using bluetooth and it works well.
    * 3 profiles for pairing the mouse – there is a button with 3 leds on the bottom of the mouse. With this you can pair the mouse to three different devices and to switch between them you only have to chose profile 1, 2, or 3 – same as MX Master – that is by far the best feature for me as I have 2 laptops and 1 PC.
    * I had no issues while using the mouse on any surface so far. According to Logitech the Darkfield laser requires at least 4mm thick surface to be able to work.
    * Very light and comfortable for use, but not too light.

    Cons:

    * Does not have the Speed Adaptive scroll that MX Master has, might be due to not enough space. Once that I got used to it I am really missing this feature.
    * Regular price a bit expensive.

The package contains the mouse, a unified receiver and a usb to microusb cable for charging (you can use it while charging). Overall I am very satisfied with this mouse, the 2 things I would complain about is the price and I really wish it had Speed Adaptive scroll.

    ===
Update: To be fair there is a speed scroll feature of the mouse that is enabled by clicking the scroll wheel, however there is no clicky feel on it as on the MX Master. So a similar feature is actually available, but is not as well implemented. So half negative less from my review 🙂

5.0 out of 5 stars The best portable mouse

I love my logitech peripherals so when I saw this on an Amazon pre Prime day deal, I couldn’t resist. I have a lot of Logotech devices and they’ve never let me down, so it was well worth a try. I have been after a wireless mouse for my notebook that had more than the normal two buttons and a scroll wheel.

This mouse has two extra buttons I was hoping for plus a fourth which once the MX Anywhere 2 software has been installed can be configured to be anything from a gesture button (new to me) to play/pause, calculator, cortana etc. and multimedia features as well as a whole host fo other features. The gesture button is amazing, press and drag up, down, left, right for start menu, show hide desktop, switch between virtual desktops. You can also customise them and map them to whatever you want.

The mouse itself is very comfortable to use as with all logitechs. It is quite small and discreet as with any portable device but not too small to be uncomfortable. It has just enough weight to stay on the desk comfortably but isn’t too heavy. There is a strong magnet, presumably to keep the nano receiver safe.

Other features are rechargeable battery which charges really fast, two hours, and lasts months. If you don’t have a free slot for the receiver you can also connect it by bluetooth, so for example at work where I’m not allowed to connect my own nano but can connect bluetooth devices, this is a handy getaround.

It comes with a usb cable for charging which has it’s own cable strap to keep it tidy, and when plugged in it can carry on charging and still be used. Overall in terms of versatility it is the most useful mouse I’ve had from logitech yet. I have been trying out wireless mice for the last year trying to find a good one and this looks like my perfect solution. So glad it was on sale.

This is my Review for the Logitech MX Anywhere 2.

I thought I would give this mouse a try after sending back the Logitech MX Master back two times within a space of two months. This was logitechs last change to impress me and actually deliver on a durable, elegent mouse which could switch between a laptop and a desktop with the click of a button.
On first impressions I noticed that it is alot smaller than the MX Master which is good for most people. However people with big hands beware as this may not be the mouse for you. In further comparison the MX Anywhere (MXA) feels great to hold and the design is spot on. The gold and black colour scheme fits great in any environment. The scroll wheel has a left and right button which is activated by move the scroll button to the left and right, this makes up for the lack of the thumb wheel present on the MX Master.
Furthermore a feature which I never knew about until recently was the ability to switch between ‘free scroll’ and rachet mode. The MX Master failed me as this feature was controlled using internal mechanics and as we all know the more moving parts the bigger chance of something failing. However for the MXA this feature is controlled by manually pushing down deep with the scroll wheel until a change can be felt; activating the free spin mode, this was extremely impressive as it is a more reliable system.

    In Conclusion:
The MXA is an exceptional mouse, despite it being so small (Portable). The design is spot on, the mechanics work fine and last of all it is WAY more reliable than the MX Master to the point where they dont compete. This is cheaper and more reliable, what more would you want?
I highly recommend this mouse to anyone looking for a portable, well built mouse with the ton of features grammed into such a small mouse.

    Note:
The battery lasts for ages, and charges up extremely quick!!
