Almost as powerful as the mains version and much handier. Usual Makita top quality.
I did not expect the batteries t last as long as they did. Very efficie
As described and easy to use very nice product thank u .
This is just brilliant, no more extension cables, so easy. P,ease note that this is not listed on the Makita web site when you try and register it for the extended warranty but a simple phone call to their uk office and it was instantly sorted.
Works well with plenty of power, nice quiet motor and easy to use.
Fast delivery from Amazon, the item works well as expected.
Since purchasing I’ve found that the price of this item varies wildly. Amazon are fifty quid cheaper than some outlets but I’ve since found it for 20 less than Amazon, so it pays to research….
My main issue is that the model number is not recognised on the Makita online database. This means I’ve had to print off a form to complete, then post to MakitaUk in Milton Keynes.
I’m a registered user and new tools are usually easy to register online. I’ve knocked a ‘star’ off for this inconvenience.
Very pleased with product. Light to handle and does a lot of work quickly without need for cables and power.
Good price and no problem registering for guarantee (see other reviews for this). However, be aware that this tool doesn’t take the newer(?) Makita BL1815G batteries but only the (older?) BL 1850. If you have to buy the battery the whole thing becomes quite expensive (you can find BL 1850 substitute with charger on Amazon for about 65:00). It clearly runs slower that a mains grinder but (after over a year of use now) it has proved a powerful machine, easily cutting/grinding masonary as well as steel, and simply brilliant for tree and shrub trimming with a roughing out blade. This is not a lightweight machine but good power and battery life make up for that.
Having used a cheap own-brand mains powered device for ages, and upgrade was in order. This is an absolute beast. The device is genuine. I had trouble registering on the Makita website for their three year warranty but a quick phone call to their Milton Keynes office had it registered in no-time.
This is exactly what we wanted to ad to our ever growing collection of Makita tools, all of the Makita tools we have purchased have proved to easy to use and reliable
I like the power and ease of use. The guard comes off with easy and is easily adjusted.
I would say that using a 3:0ah battery used old battery still lasted a good amount of time and a 5ah battery lasted a very good amount of time.
I’ve resisted buying one of these for years as I couldn’t see it being used much. trying out its one of those tools you use all the time.
Usual Makita quality and excellent power worth every penny
works well ,have wanted one for years ,The later ones have safety features ,a sensation switch that one has to press down and push foreword ,I found this hard to work when my hand where cold the switch is also sensitive and the slightest touch will turn the grinder off the grinder also has a jam auto switch of activated if the wheel jags causing the grinder to cut out .All safety features .The stiff switch works well enough when you know how to hard press ,down and foreword .I would mutter to the designers to make the on easerer .Glad I bought it has come in very useful in remote location and hand not to have to worry about power or transforme
I am a Makita fan no doubt about it. They produce quality products designed to do the job. They are robust and solidly made and perform well. I needed this as I work away from mains electricity and need the flexibility and reliability to do the task in hand without faffing about with generators and long extension cables. Cutting 2 1/2″ thick reinforced concrete paving slabs is not a thrilling pastime; actually it’s unpleasant work but with this angle grinder and the correct blade it makes the task somewhat more bearable. It does eat its way through batteries so an adequate supply of 5mAH big boys is necessary. I have quite a few cordless Makita tools as I don’t believe in buying tons of various makes of batteries and chargers. Well recommended
It felt a littel week at first , after weeks of use on heavy plastic which is harder work than steel for the grinder dew to the heat causeing a grab afect ,it has impressed me ,the harder I push on it the more it gives , great tool, there is no down falls, discs can easily be changed by hand too without a spanne
Excellent grinder, I mainly use it for chamfering waste pipe on push fit systems, which saves huge amounts of time. It also cuts unistrut and 10mm rod easily.
Couldn’t live without my grinder now
Perfect item on time and a fair price now I have used it a few times it is probably the best battery grinder I have ever used much better than my older Bosch
