That basically sums up my Ecuador vacation excursion. One day it rained like crazy and this jacket kept me dry as we were touring in the middle of it.
Great buy.
I live in Dixie, and this jacket is awesome, the ultimate shell!
I usually buy North Face but this time I bought this one.
I am totally satisfied with it in every respect.
As some of you may already know, Marmot makes some great gear. This jacket is no exception. The only thing I would change (and I’m nit-picking here) is the addition of an interior pocket. Definitely not a deal breaker though. I highly recommend this rain shell.
Fit was perfect, L for a 5’11”, 190# man
Quality excellent plenty of zippered pockets
Excellent value for a waterproof constructed from gore-tex.
This jacket uses gore-tex paclite, so the jacket is quite light and folds down small for easy carry. The hood is also very good, a single drawcord pulls the hood in, and the hood moves with your head.
Paclite is not the most breathable of the gore-tex materials and can wet out quickly. To help mitigate this, the jacket has underarm pit zips which work well.
eally high quality rain coat. plenty of room in the pockets and very light. The only thing that seems strange was the zip placement for men. The zip is on the right side, which I thought indicated it was a women’s coat? either way the coat has held up well for the time I have had it and I’ve got used to the zip.
Fits nicely and the pit vents work very well. Lightweight and packs relatively small.
so far so good. nice stitching. seems well made. nice fit. zipper under arm are nice. Good Quality Jacket.
Fits great and works as advertised. Great shell for my Patagonia sweater as well.
Cons:
– If you are planning to have a jacket with hood as a layer, this jacket might be too tight and uncomfortable. A bulky beanie might also an issue.
– Little coverage for face.
– Zips are same as another Marmot jacket I had, and I wonder how long they will last since my other jacket’s zips are dead with only casual usage.
Pros:
– Price for a Gore-Tex rain jacket.
– Enough room for layering.
Resistente, impermeabile, antivento, leggerissimo.
It’s been a a great jacket as we come into winter. Large pockets, good hood, not too noisy, waterproof, weighs a tiny amount. Has all the key features I was looking for in a rain coat. Very pleased. We’ll see how it goes with time, but out of the bag it’s been the one I’ve been picking up most of the time when I go out. Great jacket.
Can’t go wrong with Marmot. This jacket is fairly packable and very rainproof.
Size is a bit large but that’s good: meaning if you are between medium and large shirt size then a medium wil fit well even if you’re wearing a heavy sweater.
Had an previous version of this jacket that just needed a bit of a refresh but saw the new version at a bargain price and the improvements in fit and tweaks to pockets etc make this an upgrade well worth it.
I’ve purchased the Marmot jacket several times in the past. i use for work, recreation, and skiing. very durable. holds color and water proofing well over time. only complaint is the minimalist velcro for sleeve closers. considering the price I’d hope for more in this area. I’ve put my jackets through the sampsonite monkey test… and it passed with flying colors!!!!!
