Merrell Men's Moab 2 Waterproof Hiking Shoe
Merrell Men's Moab 2 Waterproof Hiking Shoe
Shoe sizes are not standardized. Every shoe manufacturer uses different measurements in terms of instep height, toe shape and foot width. However, the basis for your own shoe size is always the length of your feet. Thus, you should always determine your foot length before buying in order to choose the right shoe.

I bought these shoes specifically for hiking. All I gotta say is my feet especially my toes did not hurt at all after or during the moderate level hike like they usually do with shoes I’ve had. I can’t speak on how they are with water cause I haven’t used them in those scenarios yet. My only complaint is that the shoes looked bulkier than I thought they would be.
Very nice shoes, very supportive and comfortable. The price paid was really sharp. A very good value.
Very comfortable and supportive. Easy to fit and wear all day or just for a little walk.
While they’re the typical quality you’d expect from Merrell, the extra quality isn’t there.
I’ve had many pairs of them through the years and my most notable is the quality and comfort of their products. Had I spent the usual $100-plus for these shoes, they’d have been returned.
While everything lines up, side by side, they are visually a little different when you look at them. This may be the reason for their price though Vibrim is usually particular about what product carries their logo.
They were extremely uncomfortable at first. Not what I’ve experienced with any textile product. Usually Merrells are super comfortable, right out of the box.
Overall these shoes were bought for hiking and camping in the Carolina mountains so they’re purpose built but I’ve never experienced a break in period with a textile shoe. That’s normally more in the over-ankle height, leather boot category.
After wearing a few times they have gotten more comfortable. They have a good, sturdy toe point and on wet grass and clay, they were well footed.
I am curious about their longevity because their shoes typically outlive their looks for a few years. That said, I always rotate the old shoes in to my yard work shoes and throw them away well before they’re dead. I still have a pair of hiking mocs at my in laws house for when we visit and I do outdoor work there, where they have major water drainage issues. They’re no newer than 2008 and still nust as comfortable and water tight as they were when I got them. Besides looking like a homeless guy, I’d wear them anywhere that stability and keeping water out would be an issue.
Most likely these will last just as long but, there’s got to be a reason they were only $60.00 ($75-$110 elsewhere) and it may be that they’re not very attractive and not the normal quality shoe that they turn out.
Again, they’re Merrells and they were only $60. I’m probably setting the bar in the $120 shoe range and had I paid that, they’d have been returned. Otherwise the reason for 4 stars was really the break in time and aesthetics.
So far they feel like a great hiking shoe I the under 80 dollar range. I will loop around after some gorge time on wet rocks and steep hills to update. I’d really like to give them the 5 stars they so deserve but now it’s a solid 4 star.
son tenis de senderismo son de muy buena calidad y precio los recomiendo muy ampliamente es de lo mejor que he tenido en cuanto a calidad y precio super recomendables la calidad es mas que excelente y son super comodos recomandados al 1000%
I have used Moab 2 shoes for years and they have held up very well. I walk about 19,000 steps a day at work so they see a great deal of use.
Go up a size! Way too tight for more than 12 minutes without walking.
I ordered a size 11 which is what I wear and it fit properly my problem with the shoe is the insoles or insert is very uncomfortable and hard almost unusable the second issue with the shoe is the tongue of the shoe the material that holds it is so long that it pokes into the top of your foot if you over tighten the laces it is very noticeable, they’re squeaky shoes when you wear them on concrete or a painted surface. I’m a little disappointed as I was very excited about the shoes and the reviews were really high I was gonna take them on a trip but I don’t think I’m going to now, I walked around my five Acre yard and my feet were hurting by the time I got back to the house maybe they need to be broken in or because the insoles were so uncomfortable. Not sure about the waterproofing yet. They’re not super heavy like boots but they’re not light either. I’ll try them for a few days and maybe update the review. Update I wore them today to work With the insoles out of my boots which are in pretty decent shape still and broke in for my foot. my feet are comfortable at the end of the day with no complaints so I’m going to up my review from a 2 to a 4, I would give a 5 if the insoles were more comfortable
Ho apprezzato sia l’estetica che la robustezza. Forse un po’ pi pesanti di altri modelli ma sostanzialmente sono soddisfatto.
Shoe is excellent. As with a lot of Merrills, consider ordering a full size greater than normal.
Bought to replace my decade old pair of Merrell hiking shoes. Very comfortable and good fit.
The moment I put these (size 11) boots on I knew they were the perfect fit. So many big name brands are really narrow in the foot, no such problem with these. And wonderfully lightweight! I bought these for my forthcoming (second) Camino and I know these boots will be ideal for long distance walking on roads, board walks and established footpaths. Will feedback later in the year.
These are true to size. As usual these are a comfortable fit straight out if the box. The vibram soles are nice and grippy and walking in soaking wet grass has not let a drop of water get to my feet. Would I buy these pretty expensive shoes again? Yes.
This was a replacement trail shoe, my previous Merrell shoe had worn through its Vibram sole. The advice to take a half size larger proved good. The chosen 9.5 rather than my normal 9 proved to be an excellent fit. In all other respects the Merrell shoes are excellent quality and I recommend them
Order the size of previous Merrell and sizing was consistent so fit is good.
Happy.
3rd pair ive had, great walking shoes id say they are more water resistant than waterproof
Not as good as the last pair harder on the soles
I had a pair of Merrell trainers that fitted like a glove size 10.5. Now 10.5 is too big. So, got these and had to return. Don’t know why 10.5 is too big now.
Excellent fit out the box as expected.
For the money they are one of the best shoes/boots on the market..
Must be the third pair of Merrell Men’s Moab 2 GTX Low Rise Hiking Shoes I have bought. I like them, comfy, waterproof but perhaps not as hard wearing as I would like, but no worse than others. Buy a 1/2 size bigger than usual as they tend to be a little small
Nice product BUT be careful on sizing,,,, I normally take a UK size 12 shoe but went for a 12.5. walking boot took a days walk to realise too small so couldn’t return and need a size 13 which I will purchase when I sell the old pair.
Mt husband has serious ankle problems due to an injury and arthritis in his foot. These are the most comfortable footwear he has found and come in various colours.
I walk regularly about 6 miles over rough terrain at least twice a week. My last pair eventually gave out after almost 5 year’s wear so I had no hesitation in buying another pair. They’re comfortable and just do the job which is what you want really… I think it’s worth paying that little extra for the waterproof goretex version. For what it’s worth, my shoe size is 10 but I find 11 in these Merrell shoes is a better fit for me.
I have destroyed several pairs of trainers given the hiking I do and walking the dog. This pair have been the most comfortable I have ever purchased. Seems incredibly durable as well. Only downside is the water will get in through long grass, but they are below ankle height so to be expected. I also got caught up in barbed wire, and if it did damage the shoe I can’t see any damage.
Been using Merrell for years & have yet to let me down. These were bought as I needed a wider pair of shoes that would accommodate an ankle brace after fracturing my ankle. Perfect fit!! Excellent service from the seller as well!
