Bought for use with Windows machine. I can safely say good quality as I have had it 3 years good buy
If you find a deal on this, go for it than the cheaper other brands.
Expensive but works great and is the original for the surface series. Tilt and other functions work grea
I’d tried with cheaper alternatives. Should have saved my money and gone with the MS pen from the start, they are made for the job!
he pen looks new and the price was so low, it came with a battery as well, extremely pleased. It is the real Microsoft pen not a fake one as well
I’ve been using the HP spectre x360 for the past 5 years now and writing on it using the HP pen. All I can say is this surface pen has been a major improvement. My previous pen used to lose accuracy throughout the day as it’s power got lower, but since this is battery powered it stays nice and consistent for very long periods of times. The buttons/eraser feature are so very convenient and quite ergonomically designed. You really can’t go wrong with this pen if you are gonna use it for everyday note taking/drawing.
I was a bit doubtful when i realised that the retailer wasn’t actually Microsoft but the pen actually works very well with my surface pro 7 and looks identical to the pen I purchased with my laptop. There is a slight difference in weight though as this pen is much lighter than my old one but it works excellently.
I use this with MS Go2. Works very well, accuracy and ease of use are good, but unfortunately the Go2 screen is a little bit slippy for it to be completely accurate in the very fine detail. However I aim to try it with a paper-feel screen protector and expect the pen to really come into its own.
Really easy to use, synced v quickly, great for working in tablet or laptop mode, enhances my working and helps me speed up
The pen wasn’t as easy to set up at the instructions said it was. but once up and running, it works perfectly.
I only paid 46 as there was an offer but worth the price not the rrp
Ready to go right out of the box, this the third one that I’ve bought from amazon for no other reason than I keep losing them !! O/A well worth the money.
bought this product to use with my surface pro after finding it difficult to write on work sent by teachers in lockdown. I decided to buy the original as at the time it was only few ‘s more than others. A year on im happy with buying this and not encountered any issues whatsoever. The product has proved to be very useful during the first and second lockdown as a GCSE student.
When I purchased my Surface Go 2 I was shocked at the cost of the Microsoft peripherals and questioned their value. I initially bought a cheap pen to see if I would require one and actually found it hard to use and unreliable. Potentially not an input device I’d find useful.
However I decided to finally purchase the official Microsoft pen and its a delight to use. It feels well balanced, has a positive feel when writing, its much more accurate than the cheaper pens and now feels like an important input device rather than a cumbersome unreliable alternative.
Think as the Microsoft pen as the equivalent of a quality Parker pen. And a cheap copy as trying to use a broken biro where the ink intermittently stops.
Recommend this pen.
Brought this when I purchased the surface pro 7, easy to set up and use, the price is a little bit high for what it is considering my daughter has a similar one that cost 20 and does the same job.
Very easy to get up and running – like in the days before things were digitised (showing my age there).
The only loss of a star is because it’s a tiny bit laggy when using photoshop for detailed work. Not bad enough for a bad review, but when I’ve spent over 2k on a microsoft machine, and then have to buy the pen on top, I kind of expect something that works flawlessly. It’s nearly there, but not quite.
No complaints on the functionality of this product. It definitely makes life easier. I guess if I was to be picky and find a fault it would be that if you pull the end out where the battery sits, you have to reconfigure the pen to the functions you want. But as long as you don’t pull the end out you’re ok.
For me, the issue is the price. Well overpriced. It’s good, and I appreciate the technology, research and background of the design etc, but the cost outweighs the benefit. I wouldn’t buy it again at this price if this one ever breaks down. I’d rather stick to touchscreen with my fingers.
This pen is a little bit expensive but truly a must for students like me and it is a great product.
Battery life is about one year. I use it everyday to take notes and write on my surface.
Very well built and a great product overall
Works really well, I use for taking notes at school on a surface go and don’t have any complaints after 4 months. I read that some people had issues with it not being accurate enough but I haven’t noticed that at all! Would recommend getting the pack of multiple bibs as it’s nice to find the one that suits you best!
I have used two non-Microsoft pens on my surface pro. This is without a doubt far more comfortable and superior than either of those. I am a teacher working online during covid-19 lockdown and I have to mark onto pdfs of my students work. The other pens were tricky, I kept accidentally pressing the buttons on the side. This has one button on the side but I have not had that problem. I love the rubber at the end of this like a normal pencil, I don’t have to switch to eraser, just flick over the pen and use the other end, so much quicker. The weight of the pen is so much better too, I usually use a fountain pen and it is a similar weight so feels more natural. This also has a magnet in it and it sticks well to the magnet side of the surface pro, others that are only metal do not stick quite so firmly. Yes it was expensive and my school will not cover the cost (they would have paid for a 20-25 version) but I am spending so much time using it I don’t mind having paid the extra myself.
This is my second pen and I don’t know why but it is lighter and made with a slightly different coating to my other pen. This one is platinum and my other one is burgundy. This one is lighter and with the coating it is so easy to hold and to use, an absolute delight. While the burgundy one is heavier and is super gloss which means it keeps sliding in your hand.
Not too bad quite intuitive experience but wish it was explained more with more built in applications to use , doesnt work in many applications and most have to be paid or part of a subscriptio
Bought this product so I can use it with my Surface Pro 6 and it has been great. Allows me to write my uni notes really easily. However the bib of the pen has seemed to bend and it is not straight. Considering it has only been a few months old I am disappointed with this. I can buy a new pack of nibs from Microsoft however I shouldn’t need to spend extra when I have spend 60 in the first place. Apart from this the product is good for uni students looking to take notes on their surface pro product.
Accurate and pressure sensitive pen which works perfectly on my Surface Pro 3 (minus the shading capability when you lean the pen which isn’t supported).
It feels solid in the hand and not too heavy to write with. The soft rubber tip makes it feel more natural than I was expecting; not quite like paper but maybe halfway there.
It’s a little pricey for what it is and sadly doesn’t have a erase button along the edge so you have to flip the pen to erase which, although intuitive, is annoying.
I thought i dropped my pen in the car in a stop in austria and only realised after, i thought i lost it and was sad, 3 days later in north of italy i found it stuck to the outer body of the car thanks to the magnet.
This pen survived from austria going to the highway crossing the border to italy and climbing 2000m from sea level and still managed to hol itself to the car an work
I have had this pen now for about 2 hours. Before that I was using the pen for the Surface 3 Pro. The first thing I noticed about this is that if felt a bit heavier but when I started using it, that weight actually felt very natural, like using a quality pen. So far, I have no reasons to believe it is not an authentic Microsoft product because my Surface Go “Surface” app detected it correctly as an authentic Microsoft product. I decided to write this review particularly because writing with this is much better than my old pen. The old pen just didn’t produce the natural level of friction you get from writing with pen on paper – it was a bit too slippery. This reproduces that experience and makes it better.
The only reason why I am giving the product a 4 star is because I can’t seem to open the battery compartment – too tightly closed!
This was a cool addition to my Surface set-up which I occasionally use, but it was expensive I feel for what it is. It has a lot of good features, such as magnetic attachment to the Surface when not in use & a various buttons… Just not worth over 50 in my opinion.
If I’m honest, the Bluetooth functionality of this pen saves little time, especially when all the features are available after a short tap on the taskbar, but it’s a nice feature. The pen function itself is extremely accurate, arguably comparable to writing with a real pen. It goes without saying that this pen works best with the Surface series of products, but I do believe it will work with other computers that support Pen input. You may, however, be better looking into a pen that is slightly cheaper. With this device, you are truly paying for the reliability of Surface.
I wondered why this was cheaper than the other surface pens sold. The product code is different EYV-00010 instead of EYU-00010. It’s sold by Amazon, so I doubt it’s fake. The package states model No: 1776. Haven’t been able to find out much online regarding different product codes. I just got it today and so far it seems to work OK, tilt shading works on my surface pro 6. I will report back once I have had it for a week. Until then, I will leave a rating of 1 star.
* Update, is the original thing and a bargain at 60. Works well.
There’s very little to say about this pen; it writes on the page and draws accurately. My only gripe is that, in the world where everyone is watching their environmental use, this still uses batteries that you have to change. Making this chargable would be an obvious step forward from Microsoft. Saying that, I have had the item for around 2 months and the battery life has barely depleted. If you are going to use the Microsoft Surface as a tablet, then this item is a must as some pages require the pen rather than the finger, to scroll. If you have a keyboard or an external mouse then this item is not essential.
I’ve used it on drawing software and on the Microsoft Maps software which lets you draw on the map, and it seems accurate to me. Note: I am not a professional artist so cannot asses this for complete accuracy.
The Surface Pen has great build quality and functions well as expected. All its promised functions works well. I find to like the bluetooth functions with the eraser button, one thing my Hp Pen didn’t have. At first I thought buying the Surface Pen at around 75 is at least a slightly better price than its usual 100 tag, but I think the investment was worth it for my experience so far.
I purchased the pen for my surface pro, more to try it out than anything else. And whilst it is good for using instead of your fingers to keep the screen clean, I just find the right-click button hard to use. For me, it is too “flush” with the pen and my chunky fingers struggle to press it. So whilst I keep it handy I don’t use it much as I find the Surface Pro much better to use with the keyboard than with the Pen. I am not an artist, perhaps they or other similar users would find better use for the pen. It is nice to hold, premium quality but still quite expensive for what it is!
It took literally a couple of seconds to pair, did not have to connect to any port, only put the tip of the pen to the screen, and after a couple of seconds it was ready to use. I use it on a Surface Go, it is fast and responsive enough. Compared to the 2018 iPad, I think this combo is much better, feels more premium and natural to use than the iPad and Apple Pencil. Also sticks excellently to my Surface Go and does not feel loose.
Build: Well built and very nice to use.
Design: looks slick and suits the modern aesthetic of the surface pro.
Its a decent stylus pen but the difference in quality between it and the apple pencil is night and day. There is latency and not what I expected for the price.
Really disappointed that this isn’t included with the surface book 2 but oh well.
Pairs really fast and the battery seems to last forever (the level can be seen in the settings menu).
The accuracy and latency are slightly worse than the apple pencil but you can’t code on an iPad so this was my only option as a computer science student.
Also when using OneNote with the pen, you cant use the pressure sensitivity at the smallest pen size in the software so you have to use the next size up which then makes you use a more spaced outlined background (this took me forever to figure out what was going on).
Microsoft please include this in future surface computers and please drop the price ~100 is crazy for how basic this is.
