This is an impressive setup.
The image quality is very good, and the night vision, in particular, is much better than I had expected. Wifi performance is very good, and the ability to access the pictures either via the parental unit or via smartphone provides a good degreee of flexibility.
An added bonus is that the camera itself looks a bit like a cute little robot, which has kept the older sibling entertained.
Very high quality system – highly recommended.
Really impressed with this has lots of features that make it good. It has a zoom and a tilt and a 2 way communication which is very handy. The fact that the app is on your phone also makes it super easy to keep an eye on little ones. The picture quality is very good as is the sound. The night vision is also surprisingly clear too. Overall very impressed
Setup was easy and hastle free. It’s pretty simple to use too and the instructions are helpful if needed.
The build quality is great and the screen is large enough to see pretty well how the baby is in the room.
It’s great during the day but i do think the night vision could have been much better. It can be pretty grainy at times.
Overall still a decent buy through.
This is a high-quality product from a trusted brand.
This baby monitor can also double as a security camera .
You need to be able to connect this to a mains outlet, so consideration is needed for where it will be placed.
The app that you need to download to use this is straightforward.
There have been comments about the price, I’m not sure if this is classed as expensive for what you get, I’m always wary about buying electrical items and have the mindset of you get what you pay for, so if I pay a lot for an item it gives me peace of mind that I’ve got a product that comes with a garentee and the brand behind it (my husband doesn’t agree with me on this one).
You get a good quality product, the images are clear enough to see what’s going on and I like the fact I can see things in my phone.
Pros: Easy to set up and use, has a video monitor screen- I prefer to see baby rather then just hear them, comes with PowerPoints and wall mounts.
Cons: picture quality is not the greatest in night mode and can only use the monitor handset where it would be great to link your phone to it and be able to have a check in whilst on the go.
All new parents should have one. This is total peace of mind. A brilliant way to keep an eye on your child at all times without disturbing them. The night vision is very crisp and the sound quality is excellent. This is absolutely the wave of the future in terms of child monitoring!!
Overall, it is a good kit that is very easy to use. It is not only a configurable camera that can be accessed from the outside (although the app could be improved) but it also includes a monitor so you don’t have to depend on your mobile phone when you are at home. The screen is a good size (5.0″) but it doesn’t have the best image quality, the truth is that I expected more from such a big and well known brand. This monitor has several buttons where you can change the camera and monitor settings. Its battery is good (2800 mAh), although I miss that the camera also has a battery. This would imply a bigger size but it would be very good.
As I say, it’s not just a camera, it also has a good quality microphone/speaker as well as temperature control for better control of the situation.
As for the video, it can be digitally zoomed and has night vision. The image quality is good, on a mobile phone.
Motorola Nursery PIP1500 – Video Baby Monitor with Camera and 5″ Screen – Two-Way Communication – Infrared Night Vision – Wall Mount – 1000 feet Range, Black/Silver
Nicely packaged and presented in the box .
In the box is 1 camera unit . 1 camera monitor. 1 black wall bracket with screws and raw plugs supplied. One small locking screw for the bracket and camera mount. 2 power adaptors And the manual.
The manual is well laid out with clear instructions on the set up process. The picture quality is very good very clear with good night vision mode . The monitor can be powered by its own internal battery once fully charged and is Portable so can be be carried where necessary. The camera comes with a wall bracket so it can be mounted onto a wall if needed or placed on a flat surface. the camera is also on a Swivel mount and can positioned at any given angle and holds in place very well. The menu options on the monitor are easy to follow and set up. The camera and monitor can be set up straight out the box and is connected via WiFi. The app for the camera is easy to set up via the phone and enables the camera to be viewed via phone also.
The monitor has a light bar on the front which is activated by sound via the inbuilt microphone on the camera. The is a pull up arial on the monitor for it to recieve the signal from the camera. The is also a temperature sensor giving temperature of the room that the camera is viewing.
In all a very sleek design and very smart looking product. The picture quality is very good and the sound quality is excellent with the inbuilt microphone. Very good home monitor camera kit perfect for any child’s room .
In a nutshell: this is a decentt baby monitor that’s easy to set up and use, BUT its camera is totaly dependent on wired plugs and its a bit more expensive than others on the market which do just as good a job. However, by getting this particular monitor, you do have access to fantastic tech support and app updates from a respected and relaibale company in Motorola which may justify the extra cost.
In terms of the set itself, the camera is compact and comes with a mounting kit and it provides crystal clear vision. It can move round (pan) with ease in all manner of directions and has a decent (if not brilliant) x2 zoom feature. The camera also has 2 way sound and an easy to use mute function. Build quality of the camera is also very good with a robust outer case and all mounting parts connecting togther well. The major downside of the camera uses a wired connection as opposed to being usb rechargable. This can create issues when looking to place the camera in the optimum viewing position as you will need access to a plug. While not a total dealbreaker, it is a bit of an incovenience.
The suppoting app works well on Android phones and connects tpo the camera via wifi and it allows you you monitor the baby with ease.
Overall. I’m on the fence with this product. Its very well made and good, but the cost, and wire dependency makes me want to look elsewhere for other similar products.
This camera looks like a little robot (which is either cute or creepy, depending on your point of view) and even has little feet to stand up on. It can also be mounted to the wall. It’s easy to set up, and the camera and monitor are already paired when they arrive. The camera is simple to use, and has a really wide range of motion/panning.
The feed can be viewed either on the monitor, which can run off battery or mains power, or on the phone app, which means you can keep an eye on your baby from inside the house or when out and about. The image quality is really good, and you also have 2-way audio so you can reassure baby when you’re not there. You can play lullabies and also your own audio recordings, so you can record yourself singing if you want to. A nice touch is that the app and monitor support up to 4 cameras, so you can keep an eye on more than one child at a time if you need to.
My only real complaint, apart from the obviously high price, is that the product is advertised as having a zoom, but this is really only a 2x digital (not optical) zoom which is not much to write home about. A better zoom would really make this worth the money. Overall though, this is an impressive device that has a ton of great features.
Package arrived nicely. There are one camera and one monitor included, The quality of the monitor is great, sleek design of handheld device, Signal range is brilliant, sound is clear. Was very simple and straightforward to set up.
Superb picture quality with a very wide field of view , the 360 degree remote movement is very handy , making it easy to locate so you get a full view of cot, I can see my baby’s chest moving for peace of mind without needing to disturb him.
The app if you choose to set it up is basic, like an added bonus to connect to the monitor when not at home if needed, but you can pretty much use your phone as an extra parent unit if you wanted.
It zooms in quite far and the visual on it in the dark is amazing. It’s not crystal clear when fully zoomed but it’s clear enough for me to see his face and eyes. It was amazing when I lent it to my mum when she slept there because I could check on her with the app and be reassured. And you can talk through the app or the unit. However, audio is not so great. There is a massive time delay between units.
Based on this, I would recomend it as a reasonable well made product.
This baby monitor with camera is well specified and has lots of useful functions to give parents’ peace of mind. As you would expect from Motorola, this device is well made with quality materials and excellent video, the flexibility of pan, tilt and zoom, alongside night vision capability too, everything in fact that you need.
The monitor is easy to set up, and has a good stable design, which sits well on a unit, but also has the option to wall mount too, and as it has the pan, tilt and zoom functions accessed via the Motorola Nursery app, this option works well and won’t be knocked over which could potentially happen when used on freestanding basis. It does need to be plugged in to work, so you do need a plug nearby for power purposes.
I found downloading and pairing to the app straight-forward to do. There’s a small delay between app and camera, a few seconds, but nothing to worry about. Video quality is good in the day, and a little grainier in the dark with the night vision, but still useable. The two-way sound and speaker work well and the stories snd lullabies options via the app is a nice touch.
Overall this is a quality camera monitor for using with babies or pets. Price wise it is in the expensive side snd there are plenty of similar monitors on the market that have similar features for a third of the price of this one, but they are not household names. Of you’re buying for baby monitoring then it might be worth the investment for a brand leader product with solid quality and reliability,,which is what you pay the price for. If buying for pet monitoring then I’d recommend one of the cheaper unknown brands ones on the market that have similar features and cost considerably less. Four stars based primarily on value for money.
This is officially the cutest little camera ever! It looks like a little alien, or a dog, and can either be freestanding or mounted. It needs to be plugged in continually. The App set up was very straightforward, although the instructions in the box were extremely basic. Picture quality is great in the daytime, and once the infra red kicks in- you may need to adjust settings for dusk depending on how dark your room is. The great thing is that you can scan right around the room, pan, tilt and zoom and set your own sound level to pick as much as you need- the microphone is extra sensitive. The two way talk feature is very clear too.
You also get access to the nursery content on the app- record lullabies, or stories and take video and photos, to keep in your online baby journal.
Maybe because of the image storage, the ‘ share to other devices ‘ function isn’t very clear and is time sensitive. My partner wanted me to share the app so they could have access also, and although it was possible in theory, we couldn’t work out how to do it, and instructions were non existent. It may well have been human error, but having set other cameras up with no trouble, I don’t know.
I gave this to a friend with a young baby and these are her comments “This looks and feels well made. It is fairly easy to use and set up. Set up was fairly quick. Some thought as to location of camera so it can be connected to the power. The monitor screen is ok. Perhaps a little on the bulky side and the resolution is ok but there can be better. It is though clear enough to see what you need to see. It works well at night-time. It can be zoomed in. The app took a little time to set up but once set up worked really well and the advantage is that you can view your baby from anywhere. Good clear picture on the phone and better than on the monitor. Good camera. Good clear sound. Accurate temperature measurement. Two-way communication is clear and works well. This is user friendly. It does what it is supposed to well. I like it and it works well”.
It was not that best baby monitor I got. It comes with wall mount. The monitor got room temperature, microphone, 2 way communicate and night vision. The night vision is bit poor video quality. You can zoom to get perfect view with digital zoom feature. It also have led sound level indicator when baby makes a noise. You can use app to check on baby if you are out. It is bit frustrating to download and use the app. I won’t recommend this monitor if you want the best baby monitor.
Having used a few of these over the years, this is one of the better ones.
Very simple to set up, you can tilt/pan/zoom, it has a temperature monitor so you can make sure baby is comfy. It has an intercom, a lullaby mode, stories/sounds to keep baby occupied. You also get movement and sound alerts.
This comes with a wall mount, you can pair up to 3 additional cameras (4 total) and the included parent unit will work even when the internet is down.
The parent unit has a decent 2800 mAh battery.
The negatives are that the camera itself does not have a battery, so needs to be plugged into the wall. The parent unit is quite bulky, especially when compared to a mobile phone. The range is OK, but not fantastic (ie, baby room upstairs, you are in the garden) and I was finding some dead zones. The parent unit screen is not that clear being 480×272 resolution, and you can get a better picture via the app on your phone.
The app itself is pretty decent, and does everything you would want it to do.
If you can live with the minor drawbacks, I would definitely recommend buying this!
Packaged and presented perfectly with giftable high quality craftsmanship and setup is a breeze with straight forward guided instructions for convenience.
So this is a stylish set and in particularly impressed with the user friendly app that is easy and great to load on my phone reliably. You can mount the camera aswell so its more secure without it falling over for example
The video/picture quality has been better then expected with a clear view and the parent view is great to keep near aswell or even based in the area your in most but then again completely practical and versatile.
The features i also find useful is the room temperature to keep track of and to be fair its spot on everytime.
Also the pan and tilt is a nifty feature and does work like a charm. Night vision is reliable and is functional at night to extend its use.
The sound is nice and clear with no interference or any random feedback.
The lullabies is a nice addition and is a decent aid. Overall it is a tad expensive and would of expected 4k picture for the price but does perform very well and reliably. Happy to recommend for quality and it’s nifty features.
In fairness it’s a good monitor, picture is fine, there’s a zoom feature (digital rather than optical), it’ll keep track of the temperature in the baby’s room, the sound is clear, the screen is battery backed, so you can take it about the house or into the garden with you.
If I hadn’t tried out the Paris Rhne equivalent in the last few weeks, I’d be thinking the Motorola was perfect for the job, just the PR one offers all the same features as well as a pan & tilt camera (controlled from the display panel) for quite a bit less money.
Both are good devices, both will do the job, but the Motorola has less features & costs more.
The aesthetics of the camera might be a bit marmite for some, looking a bit like Wall-E, Johnny number 5 & E.T. all at the same time.
I ordered the Motorola Nursery PIP1010 CON Baby Monitor – with Camera – Pan, Tilt, Zoom and Night Vision – Including Wall Mount – Motorola Nursery App – Room Temperature, Two-Way Communication and Lullabies.
I already have another Motorola baby camera and this one is really good. The picture is clear at night and day time. Thought there is a slight delay but that happens with most cameras. Only downfall as this doesn’t come with a parental unit if you wanted one and uses the Motorola app on your phone, this is fine but if you don’t want to use your phone to view the camera it can be bit of a pain if you want to use your phone for other things at night.
At the time of reviewing this product was priced at 103.14. This is a reasonable price for this product.
I would recommend this item.
This Motorola baby monitor is amazing, The overall quality of the camera is very good and it’s a fairly smart looking device for a baby monitor. The camera can either sit on a desk or be mounted onto the wall using the included bracket. Its very easy to setup and it uses the Motorola Nursery App. Following the instructions, you can be up and running within a minute or so and multiple people can connect to the camera using their own smartphone. To save you having the app open all the time you can setup motion and sound alerts which send a notification to your phone and these work very well and come through almost immediately. You can talk through the app to the camera and also set it to play lullabies and stories but sadly not any music that’s on your phone.

The camera comes well packaged and includes the camera, monitor and wall fixings. The cables on both the monitor and camera are very long, which is great if you have sockets behind furniture.
As soon as they were powered up they paired together without any configuration and worked instantly. The monitor has a really good, clear picture from the camera. It also displays the room temperature.
The camera has a good, wide view that can be moved and controlled by the monitor to go up and down as well as side to side. Very reassuring if you need to to view a different angle without having to move the camera all the time.
After starting up the monitor displayed a software update that only took a few minutes to complete.
The monitor has lots of settings to it including volume, multi view (if you have more than 1 camera), push to talk and much more.
I downloaded the app and connection was simple but very manual. It announces each stage and you have to tick them off on the app as “complete” rather than recognising it itself. The app is a little slow and to move the camera you have to expand the view. It seems to work better on a landscape device (tablet) than portrait (phone). But the image expands and auto rotates to landscape view.
You can take snap shots of live view, which are saved to the apps gallery (not the device unless downloaded) and you download any saved recordings. I’m not sure if the camera is saving these to a cloud or onto storage on the device, I haven’t fitted a memory card to it.
Extra features of the app is the babies journal. You can record all types of “events” manually including feeding, nappy changes, sleeping, calendar, health, leisure, growth, teething. There is also an analyses feature so you can see an overview of these events recorded over a 7, 14 or 30 day period.
You can also play stories and lullabies through the camera and controlled by the app or monitor, which is a sweet extra feature.
Overall the camera is good quality, the app could be a bit better configured for phones but it’s easy to get around and the journal is a nice, extra touch.
This is simple to set up and use alongside the application.
The picture quality is incredible, along with the night vision.
I highly recommend this if you can afford the very high price tag.
I’d also like to point out that i think the price tag is way too high, i guess you’re paying for the brand here but it should be 100 cheaper in my opinion. So i’m taking off a star due to the overpricing.
This is a quality baby monitor and monitor screen. It’s made by Motorola so it’s going to be a very good build. The price is quite high for what you get though. It does have a very clear screen but not really a good zoom feature.
There is an app which I guess is why this is so highly priced. You can log on and see what the monitor is seeing while you are away from the house. Good for when you have a babysitter in or when you’re at work.
The camera needs power all the time so you’d need to site this somewhere where there is a socket.
There are some baby monitors that pan and tilt and have lots of features compared to this. However this is good for the app amd the manufacturer name.
Really good quality camera which is a good size. It’s great that you can sync it to your phone, our old monitor had to be constantly plugged in as it wouldn’t charge. As we have mobiles and tablets in the house there’s always something with charge. Just be mindful of this with babysitters. It plays lullabies and soothing sounds too. You can do personal voice recordings, image snapshots, video recordings and storage. An excellent camera Which is easy to set up.
What a great bit of kit this “Motorola PIP1010 CON baby monitor with Camera is. The peace of mind that this neat little camera gives me, is well worth the price tag. The camera looks like a small penguin or outer space creature, not scary but comforting. The item was securely packed with everything needed to connect your camera and have it up and running in minutes. I found the instructions easy to follow and the app works very well. The camera can be wall mounted or put on a table, meaning if you want to take the camera into another room or on a sleepover with your precious wee bundle, then it’s quite a portable camera.
I like that the devise has a lullable setting, and the two-way setting lets me reassures my baby that I’m still close by. The picture quality is clear and although it does have a two second delay, I can live with that. Night-time picture quality is also good and I’m more than happy to have this bit of kit watching over my baby, therefore it’s 4* from me folks.
This set up has so far been, so good. It’s fairly straightforward to set up out of the box and the app runs seamlessly. In some ways I prefer the app to view over the monitor as it does have a much better quality image, I think for this price point I would have like 1080p quality on the monitor screen as well. The monitor screen is clear don’t get me wrong, especially in good lighting but is less so during the night which is when I’d be more inclined to want to check the monitor screen over the app.
The camera itself is quite compact and the little feet on it help it stand very well without the need for mounting, but you do get a mounting kit in the box should you wish to have it more permanently fixed/higher position. I’ve only used it on a chest of drawers and it’s worked fine.
I will give high praise for the amount of movement/pan the camera allows as it really will pan around the whole room unlike so many other monitors that only move a very small amount. The zoom feature is less impressive imo, it’s only 2x so not the best on the market. The 2 way audio is very good though and a feature I wouldn’t be without, you can easily mute it when needed but being able to reassure the little one before you get there is great imo.
Overall the build quality is very good, the app works smoothly with little delay and the move ability of the camera is the best I’ve used. I do wish the monitor itself had slightly better image quality but generally it’s a good, more premium (in price) option.
This is a great quality baby monitor.
It’s pretty decently packed with features with its ability to manually tilt and pan the camera to account for a babies movements.
The image quality is incredible during the day but suffers a bit at night as with any camera and night vision.
The audio is pretty good but nothing exceptional. It does provide two way audio which works pretty well but generally with about a 3-5 second delay in my experience.
The lullabies are a nice little bonus.
It’s sound and movement notification all work really well.
Overall really happy with the product. It’s quite expensive at over 100 but it is a well known and respected brand and the ability to move the camera is a huge bonus.
The Motorola camera arrived safely, ands it comes nicely packed inside a well-illustrated retail box. Along with the camera you get a wall bracket with fixings, mains power adapter, and the user guide.
The overall quality of the camera is very good and it’s a fairly smart looking device for a baby monitor. The camera can either sit on a desk or be mounted onto the wall using the included bracket.
Its very easy to setup and it uses the Motorola Nursery App. Following the instructions, you can be up and running within a minute or so and multiple people can connect to the camera using their own smartphone.
The 1080p quality is pretty decent and its more than good enough for keeping an eye on your child or room. When its night-time the quality suffers a little bit but its nothing terrible and you can still make out faces or objects easily. As with most wireless cameras there is a slight delay with the video feed and sound, prob a few seconds at the most which isn’t too bad.
To save you having the app open all the time you can setup motion and sound alerts which send a notification to your phone and these work very well and come through almost immediately. You can talk through the app to the camera and also set it to play lullabies and stories but sadly not any music that’s on your phone.
Compared to the PIP1160 this camera doesn’t come with a monitor, my opinion is this is more suitable as a security camera as most people who want to keep an eye on their child would probably prefer a monitor which shows a permanent live feed rather than constantly keep opening an app to check on their child but its still useful if you don’t want to spend another 100+ extra.
Overall, it’s a good quality piece of kit and at around the 100 mark I feel it represents ok value for money. It’s a product I’m happy to recommend and I feel four stars is appropriate for it.
I’ve been using this camera to check on my dog when I am not at home and I am really happy with it.
Compared to cheaper cameras, it’s clearly superior in any way. The app feels nicer, the video quality is better, and it doesn’t feels flimsy.
The night vision isn’t the best, but still more than enough to see where the dog is and what is it doing.
Although I am using it for my dog, I would be more than okay using it with a baby too.
This baby monitor has everything you would need to set up a baby monitor. It comes with power cable, a stand and wall bracket. And I found it easy to pair it to the Motorola app.
I like the fact that it shows the temperature of the room. Also, being able to play audio through the camera helps in keeping the baby calm and may be distracted (.. lol). The camera lying on a shelf seems like a small cute mouse/bunny toy.
You can move the camera using the app which can be handy, if the camera is too close and baby moves out to of frame. While moving the camera (using the app), video becomes blurred for 2-3 seconds but that is acceptable in my opinion as it is a baby monitor not security camera. Night vision too is good and clear.
It ticks all the boxes, yes a bit costly at 103.14 but it is from a well known company, Motorola.
I have been using this camera to keep an eye on my dogs when we have been going out. It was really easy to set up using the app and the instructions provided. As it connects to wifi i would worry using in a childs bedroom but that is my preference. Some times it takes the app a little bit of time to connect to the camera so i have to go on and off the app for it to work. The app allows me to change the angle of the image and also to zoom in if needed
The image quality in the day is great but at night it was not the best. I do like the option to take screenshots of the image which has allowed me to capture lovely moments of my dog. The image is a little delayed so i see things a few seconds after they have happened.
This is a fine piece of kit, from a highly respected brand. Set up was very easy with some nice touches (the camera and the monitor in the box have already been paired for example). And the power cables are of different lengths so that you can use the longer one to give more flexibility about the positioning of the camera. The picture quality on the monitor is very good.
The camera output can also be viewed via an App. Quality here is good in my case but I am lucky enough to have a very fast Broadband line and the router connects strongly to the camera. The dedicated monitor does allow for the camera to be panned and tilted but I could not see any option to do that via the app.
Although the quality is high so is the price. At almost 250 at the time of this review I suspect many people will have to think long and hard about whether that is good value. And that’s primarily why I have only gone for four stars.
This is a very cool looking baby camera. It’s as if Pixar’s Wall-E has had a child with a penguin and this is the result. It’s a cute looking thing and even has a little tail (the rear antenna).
You need to download the app and register before pairing but it was all pretty straightforward and it paired first time for me – you need to be on the 2.4ghz wavelength so don’t be too near your router when setting up.
Once paired you are up and running. The camera movement is controlled via your phone and the movement is near silently so shouldn’t wake anyone.
Video quality is momentarily blocky before settling down and this happens when you move the camera. Night vision is pretty good within a defined circular area of screen. I’ve included a little video showing the camera quality through my phone (Pixel 4A 5G) via screen capture, showing it in both low light and pitch black. I think it’s definitely fine for keeping an eye on your little one though you may notice a touch of clouding near the centre of the screen on mine which was a bit disappointing.
The app also has an inbuilt story function where you can have a story read through the camera’s speakers which is a nice touch for toddlers.
If you are after a sci-fi-cute designed baby camera with a decent app interface then this is a good one.
MOTOROLA BABY MONITOR.
This baby monitor is really superb. Really easy to set up and as soon as you take it out of the box you can immediately see what you are paying for. There is a bracket included so you have the option of having the monitor mounted on the wall or as a free standing unit in the nursery. Once set up this works like a dream and even in the dark you can see into the nursery. If you download the app you can do everything from your phone which is great if one of you are at work – you can still monitor the baby from your phone.
This baby monitor records the temperature of the room so you can ensure that the nursery is the correct temperature all times. This has a 300 metre range so you can move freely around the house whilst monitoring baby. The range goes a bit further than that if you are using the app on your phone. This is one piece of kit that I feel justifies the hefty price tag. A fantastic investment for peace of mind.
This baby monitor camera has quite a cute shape to it that wouldn’t be out of place in a nursery. It looks like a little character that stands on feet, has a body and a large head with one eye.
It is easy to pair with the app once you have downloaded it and following the instructions. Just be aware that, as will most WiFi devices, it only connects on the 2.4GHz frequency so if you have WiFi that only runs on 5GHz you won’t be able to connect to it. My WiFi has both so it connected easily.
In the app you can view the image from the camera and hear any sounds. You can also control the camera with buttons to pan and tilt it. I did find to start with that there was a delay of around 13 seconds which was a bit troubling but I restarted the camera and the app and it was much better, at around 2 seconds delay, which is to be expected for a wireless device. It says in the description that it has a zoom as well but that is just by pinching the image on the phone so it is not an optical zoom.
You can set up notifications if sound or movement is detected and the camera has a speaker so you can speak through it. There is a useful temperature display as well so you can check how warm or cold the room is. The camera as a few lullabies built into it that you can select in the app to play over the speaker.
This camera would also be useful if you have a pet that is left alone in the house. You can easily check on it whilst you are out and about and even talk to it.
It’s a fair chunk of change for this monitor but you can rest assured that it’s secure and a quality product. The last thing you want is to worry that some stranger is picking up your baby monitor sound/video so it’s essential to go with a known brand that is safe and secure. On opening you can see and feel that you have purchased a quality product (although being Motorola that’s a given) setup is easy enough as it ships already paired to the camera and the instructions whilst simple, cover everything clearly enough (simple because it’s simple but in a good way) the image is crisp and clear with no issues found so far. The zoom claim is a bit of a cheek as it’s just a simple x2 digital zoom and could be better implemented as you get some pixelisation when used on the remote display. This is the only downside with the display as other than this it is really very good. The only other things are the camera does not have a battery in it so is completely reliant on the included power adapter (although it’s a 5V supply so you could run it off a powerbank with a bit of DIY and make up a cable) the app allows you to view the camera when away from the house so great for working parents when one is away from home and both the display and the app can support up to four cameras although Motorola has missed a trick here by not providing a link or talking about buying extra cameras.
When all is said and done it’s a good product albeit a touch pricey yet as the saying goes you get what you pay fo
This baby monitor set from Motorola is really good and although it is expensive you are getting quality with lots of good features.
The main camera unit is cute and won’t look out of place in a baby room with the head part being the rotating/tilting camera and this gives you a huge viewing range. I also like the fact it comes with a stand bracket (attached) or a separate wall mounting bracket that you can attach the camera too if you want it over a crib or up out of the way. The downside is that it has to be mains powered so consider the cable and plug when positioning it.
The screen unit that comes with it is nice and large and can be mains powered or run off the rechargeable battery in it and if you are a little further away from the camera has a fold out aerial to get better signal (a room or so away I didnt need to put it up). The screen is only 720p but I thought it was really good picture quality and I like having the large screen with simple to use buttons on the right.
It also has Wi-Fi built in so you can access the camera from your phone with the app and this is 1080p quality but I didn’t see a massive improvement unless you start to zoom in a little as it’s just a digital zoom. But the app was easy to set up and gives you extra information like temperature.
Overall, It’s a great set and really well made, but at 249.99 it’s just a little expensive especially when you consider the camera isn’t rechargeable battery powered. If this goes on a deal below 200 I would say its good value for that.
The camera itself does look a lot more robust than others I’ve seen. It also has a choice of table mount or wall mount depending on when it is to be located. The cable is plenty long enough for facilitate wall mounting.
The camera image quality with any the best and the I’ll appear quite grainy, even with playing with the settings in the app.
The app does allow for lullabies, and audio books to be read (from the Motorola app not my own so selection is limited).
The app also doesn’t stay open on the phone and will send the phone to lock screen which is counter intuitive.
Notifications for movement and sound do help but it’s hard to get the settings just right.
This baby monitor with a lovely design. It seems like a little Robert. It is really cute outlooks.
I will recommend this baby monitor to my friend. First it is easy to install and pair. Just follow the introduction and step by step. just for the pair the wifi, you need some time to wait for. I used 20mins to set up all the thing. It is not bad. Then I love the function via the app. The camera’s picture quality maybe not the best, but still acceptable. Also It has a temperature, it is so smart. It help me a lots. Also the 2 way commination is really good and helpful. Just the pricing is a bit higher than I expected. However, the function is very good. I am happy to recommend to my friend. Thanks
