Really simple but good piece of kit. I wasn’t sure at first when seeing the sceen size compared to other available models but it’s actually quite useful, as it doesn’t take up too much space but does the job well.

The zoom in function on the model as shown in the photos I have included (cuddly toys included as little one isn’t here yet!) is great – it’s really clear and you don’t see a massive drop in photo quality or anything like that when you zoom in.

It’s also all really self explanatory. I didn’t really need to look at the instructions besides understanding how long it needs to charge for (btw not very long).

The sound comes through really clearly too (used husband chatting in other room as practice!). Would highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Zoom is brilliant and sound really clear!

Great baby monitor from Motorola. This is one of those products that makes parenting a little easier, and I feel like a total pro when I use it.

The first thing you’ll notice about this monitor is its sleek design. It’s sleek enough that it doesn’t look like an eyesore on your nightstand or dresser, but it’s also sturdy enough to stand up to any abuse from little ones. The monitor itself has a nice weight to it, so if you have a baby who likes to throw things around when they’re fussy or just trying out their new coordination skills, this monitor will hold up just fine.

And then there are the features! Night vision! Volume control! Temperature monitoring! Sound level indication! Everything you need in order to get the best night’s sleep and make sure your little one is okay while they’re sleeping too.

I love having the option of being able to check on my daughter when she wakes up at night (or even just looking at her sleeping peacefully) without having to go into her room every time and with the infrared night vision feature on this monitor, I can do just that. This has been especially helpful since we moved into our new house earlier this year: now I don’t have to worry about waking he

Cant fault this Motorola VM483! its so much better than the no brand camera I was using, from the picture and sound quality to the range! the range was a welcome improvement for me as the last camera struggled to get through what was a gable wall into my extension where my living room is, we ended up leaving it at the bottom of the stairs with the volume on max incase my little one stirred in the evening, this Motorola unit is not besides me which puts my mind to ease, price wise at 80 I think its a steal with some of the other high street brands pushing the 200 mark, all in all I highly recommend to new and experienced parents!

This is a very good, and nice and simple baby monitor set. The camera is easy to place, allowing you to monitor the temp of the babies room, hear your baby along with a noise level monitor and of course, see your baby. Good solid picture during the day a d good night vision too. The monitor is also easy to set up and use and allows you to switch from normal to night mode. The camera has various mood lighting if that’s something your looking for too. Digital zoom means you can really keep a close eye on the small human too!

Good product, no subscription costs, straight forward to set up and use.

Slightly disappointed with the once market leading baby camera, perhaps the camera’s resolution, or the display monitor, don’t seem to have a good clear view ( ie: in comparison the unbranded 360 camera, which is doing a better job- as display on the bigger phone screen )
It is a handy thing to have as it has a microphone, infra red and also temperature reading ( and the top right along with the battery bar )
The monitor does have built in battery but only lasts for a few hours ( when not plugged in ).
It does have a zoom function, but more of a digital zoom, and the camera is fixed.
Overall it is a very reliable product and but slightly pricey for the quality.

This baby monitor set consists of a compact camera, which requires a mains power source, and a portable parental monitor. The parental monitor unit has a detachable rechargeable battery (similar to mobile phone batteries), and a mains plug/charger. The battery requires 16 hours’ charging before first use, so this would not be an ideal option as a last minute buy.

This is a good, neat little system that’s easy to set up. I’m using it to keep an eye on our dog (who is recuperating from an IVDD episode) when I’m not able to be in the room with her.

This has a solid range of features, and the screen is high quality. I like the fact that this is a closed system and not another addition to the Internet of Things – there’s no chance of the camera being hacked and having your home spied on.

Decent quality image for a budget baby monitor although I expected a slightly better image from a well known brand. The night vision tho is better than I expected.
The good thing about this monitor is that it is really easy to set up and use and can be used wirelessly as it has a rechargeable battery, the room temperature is also a really nice touch.
The camera came already paired to the monitor and works from anywhere at home without disruption from other electronics, it has a better range than the internet router.
Overall a good baby monitor, does exactly what is supposed to but would have been nice to be able to watch it through an app on the phone also.

Good range and easily portable video screen. Sounds very clear and loud if you want it to be. Image could be a bit sharper but more than adequate. Camera moves on the vertical but would be helpful to move on the horizontal too. Temperature monitoring really helpful, especially during recent hot weather. Easy to set up so overall very good value for money considering the cost.

From as far as I can remember Motorola, was the cutting edge in mobile phone tech and everyone was clamming to get their hands on one.
Now though, the mobile scene is a foregone conclusion. However, Motorola has managed to reinvent itself and now, has ventured into the baby monitor world. This baby features the usual, features such as; room temperature monitoring, volume control, sound level indication and more. It also has a highly sensitive microphone so you can hear every breath and gurgling that you like. Not just that, the video lens is pretty impressive too, not to mention the sharp zoom function, it also has sharp images even in extremely dark conditions.
So far, I can’t fault this baby monitor and it’s nice to see a once well-known brand trying to complete.

A basic nursery camera and monitor set by Motorola. If your looking for a no-frills easy to set up from the box under the 100 budget baby video camera set this is a fantastic option.

It comes well packaged in the box, inside you’ll find the camera, monitor, two power adaptors and instructions.

The construction of the products mainly consists of plastic. The camera was already paired to the monitor when I turned on both devices. The monitor is nice and compact, that fits in the palm of your hand. The bonus is that it has a rechargeable battery and can be used wirelessly without it being plugged into the mains. The display screen is not the sharpness but clear enough to see the camera surroundings.

Whilst this set has limited functions, there is a multi-colour light at the front of the camera to soothe the little one to sleep.

Verdict – if you’re looking for something without needing to download extra apps, sign up for accounts. This is a great camera and monitor set by Motorola but would recommend other products for extra functionality.

After using it for a few days, it feels very easy to use. With the screen on, you can see the baby in any corner of the house. You can eat and do things with peace of mind, and the connection is smooth without any delay.
It is very convenient to monitor children at night. I used to have to open the door every time to come in. Opening and closing the door is easy to wake the child. Now I can see it with the screen in the living room. The child sleeps a lot more, the clarity is very good, and it is Motorola, the brand It’s very reassuring.

I was really shocked at how grainy the video is in night mode, you can still see what’s going on but it’s just annoying how grainy the video quality is

The battery doesn’t last very long, it does seem like the fundamental technology this uses hasn’t been updated in a long time

It’s not the cheapest baby monitor around either, I was expecting more from Motorola

Ignoring the fact that my test unit arrived with some box damage (this is nothing to do with the manufacturer, so will have no impact on my review), I’ve been pretty impressed with this baby monitor from Motorola. There are a few issues though, which I’ll go into shortly.

The build quality appears to be pretty good for the price (89.63), For context, this price puts it roughly in the middle of the market, price-wise. So I went into this review expecting some missing features vs higher end units. The camera comes on a stand, which you can adjust the camera on. However, I couldn’t move the camera with controls, which I have been able to do with pricier units. I like that the camera has an independent on/off switch. I think with modern technology, there’s always a bit of paranoia around webcams and cameras, so it’s nice to be sure it’s shut off.

The monitor unit is quite nice and logical to use, but the screen is far too small in my opinion. It’s my main criticism of this item. Most baby monitors now will come with more than a 2″ screen. The controls are quite intuitive and easy to navigate.

There’s a decent range between the two units, advertised at 300m, though note this would be outdoor clear range in optimal conditions. This is reduced to around 50m indoors, and I suspect much further if your house has thick walls. That said, even if it was 25m, this is more than enough for most homes.
Signal is based on only 2.4GHz, it would be nice to have dual band, including 5GHz too, because 2.4GHz is often in use already with routers and cordless phones etc, which could lead to interference.

I found the sound quality was good, minimal feedback or distortion. Though obviously this largely depends on the quality of the connection you have between the units.
Video quality is pretty good, though on a 2″ screen, I imagine pretty much any camera would look ok. The digital zoom (not optical) is OK. Night vision seems OK, but is probably my least used feature as our son often ends up with us at night-time.

Overall it’s a pretty nice item, but I’d describe this as quite basic. I’ve used monitors before with features such as movement alarms, full HD cameras, optical zooms and pans. Obviously the trade-off here is price, so you have to weigh up what is important for you. This isn’t a feature rich set, but it does the basics you need to make sure you can keep safe eyes on your young one(s) when they’re alone. If you want something with more features, you’re likely to be looking at 150+, so that should also be taken into consideration. But as a no-frills camera set I’m really happy. I’m not going to penalise my score heavily based on my criticisms, because I think the price, comparatively, makes up for it. But I do think that a 2″ screen isn’t enough, not for comfortable viewing anyway. There simply isn’t enough screen space in my opinion.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good baby monitor, but some niggles.

This is a small monitor for use indoors.this required charging up before use.there is also a battery which goes into the monitor.so once charged this can be carried around .

This requires no downloading of apps.

Once charged switch both camera and monitor on and little two inch screen lights up..
What ever angle you aim the camera the monitor picks this upthe camera also has sound ..

I will personally use this for my elderly motheras she is prone to falls.so when I’m in the garden I can take the monitor with me and keep a check on her.

Camera is on a stand that can be turned in any directionhas quite a long lead to plug.
Small white unit with black circle in middle for lens .
The monitor has a zoom in buttonthere are a few setting on this but I’ve not set up anything..
Both are light to hold .
    Picture quality is good.
You don’t have to worry about WiFi connection.apps..just ensure monitor is charged.
    Overallreally impressed .would recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Was pleased no app no WiFi ….

The baby cam is fantastic. I compared numerous items in this area, and I’m glad I made the proper one.
The finest part is that the night vision is excellent, in addition to the excellent clarity. Now, even when I’m outside, I can see my child.
The noise is quite audible. I immediately become aware of my baby’s crying. The camera itself is very adorable.
Both the packaging and the configuration are flawless. Getting access to your mobile phone merely takes a few minutes.

Excellent camera; the night view is amazing; and the timing of the pictures is perfect. You can always see your baby because the camera doesn’t go off (unless you programme it to); you can always turn your head and see the infant. I can watch this while sitting in the living room while the baby is sleeping in her room. It is a signal bar that lets you know if you are moving out of range. Additionally, you can converse with the webcam to soothe your child using your voice.
I’m quite pleased with all around.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis is a great camera at I feel a really reasonable price. The camera is not too large so can easily fit into many different spaces without being imposing, it is simple in while with accents of black around the camera lens and has the brand logo illustrated in grey. The camera quality is good, I am impressed with both the day and night viewing on this camera, it gives me enough visibility to monitor and keep an eye on what is happening in the room. There is an option to zoom (x2) and to speak 2 ways which is great if you want to soothe your child without being in the room. You can use the camera wireless if you wish and there is a decent battery life on it which is good, I prefer to just leave it plugged in so I don’t have to worry about it turning off.

The monitor to watch the camera feed through is great, I am really happy that this isn’t just a phone app, whilst the phone apps are good and I do like them, it’s not super practical if you for example want to go out and need to have your child babysat. Having a separate monitor you can leave at home is perfect. You also have the piece of mind that this is a private connection that no-one unwanted can access your feed of your child. The controls of the device are simple and easy to use as well.

The set up was a dream, nothing complicated, just connect and away you go. This is such a great selling point in my opinion that you can just get it up and running without messing around or spending ages setting this up.

I am really impressed with this monitor, it performs fantastically in audio, video and usability and highly recommend this to someone that is looking for a good quality monitor that performs well.

Seamless set up with this excellent Motorola Nursery VM481. It performs brilliantly, it’s really clever.
With such features as a long range of approx 300 meters. A bit overkill. But it works if you are wanting to sit out in the garden. You can keep a good eye out.
Sadly. It only works on 2.4ghz. So it might struggle to get your router to connect. As that is more than likely running on 5ghz. In the end i just reset my entire wifi and added only 2.4ghz to connect. After its connected you can go back and switch on your 5ghz which most modern items use these day. So a bit of a faff.
Overall once it is set up, there are some serious pictures coming your way.
The picture quality is excellent, day and night thanks to the infra red.

If i was to be honest. I do feel the screen is a bit tiny. Its a shame really as it performs excellently.
So i am giving only 4*
There is an upgraded Motorola Nursery, go from VM481 to VM483 which has a bigger screen 3.8inch not a 2 inch screen.

I feel this may be end of the line product which could explain why it was being made available for vine customers for free. Don’t get me wrong, this is a great product. But it does have a couple of flaws.
Will be interesting to see what the nipper does every night.

Motorola Nursery VM481 is fantastic for many reasons. First, one of its primary functions is to keep an eye on your baby while sleeping, playing or being outside. But not only that you can monitor your baby but you can use it for pets as well, there is nothing wrong with that.

To jump straight to the point of its functionality, I can say it works flawlessly and just as it should. Good condition, excellent and clear picture and sound are good too. With high sensitivity microphone in the device, you can hear every hum or lower noise that comes from the other side.

I really cannot fault this device, for over a month I did not find any issue with it and it is connected without problems. It helps to do daily tasks while “multitasking” and allows you to have a third eye in the house.

A wide range lens allows you to side wide enough picture to cover nearly the whole room if you put it in one of the corners and with the digital zoom you can focus on a particular spot of the same. This gives you great flexibility and perfect adjustment if required.

Comes well packaged with the camera, monitor, 2 powder plug cables, battery and simple quick start instructions. A good quality camera and a compact 2 inch lcd portable monitor. Easy to use and set up. Clear and precise picture in both day and night. In daylight it’s in full colour mode, night time viewing is greyscale infrared image to see all delicate movements of your little one clearly. The camera needs minimal set up, easy as plug in and paired almost instantly. No need for a lengthy set up, apps, wifi or anything like that. It has a built in microphone and speaker to enable 2 way talk. The camera itself can be set on a side, and has a 2x digital zoom. It’s so clear and a great picture quality. Strong and stable signal range, no worry of it dropping in and out anywhere. Battery life is okay, you can always use the monitor with the cable plugged in if needed. You do get a low battery alert, so wont just automatically switch off. The monitor screen is easy and simple to navigate. Personallly i prefer a monitor with a slightly larger viewing screen, but thats just personal preference. You are able to get ones at a similar price or something with a few more features. Would benefit at this one being slightly less at cost. Still happy with this set. Gives you a great piece of mind.

This really is a top quality baby monitor.

The camera is small and unobtrusive, and due to its small size, is easy to set up in a convenient location. The microphone is sensitive too and picks up even small sounds. Having an LED sound indicator is a nice touch.

The receiver unit only has a very small screen – at only 2″, if you’re used to using a smartphone, it’ll seem tiny. However, it is perfectly large enough for the purpose and I guess a smaller screen uses less power (does it?). The image is clear in both daylight and night vision modes.

Obviously, it’s important to keep the unit charged – this is the only slight drawback for me, but I guess you could keep it on the charger permanently.

The price isn’t particularly cheap, but Motorola is a well respected name and I think the extra peace of mind of having a known brand is worth a little extra expenditure.

I’m very happy with this and would recommend it to any parent of a very young child.

I am quite impressed with this monitor which I am using as a pet monitor and not in a nursery It was so easy to set up and despite it only having a two inch screen the picture quality is surprisingly good. Night mode is extremely good too which was important to me and is an area where many cheaper monitors fall down. Range is apparently up to 50 meters which is enough for most peoples properties, any larger and you will probably need to be looking at a more expensive set up than this one. It works fine in my place and does the job I want it for very well indeed, especially at this price point.

I’ll be honest, this isn’t being used as a baby monitor, so to speak but rather a “fur baby” monitor for keeping an eye on the 5 week old kittens and their mother. Believe it or not, it’s actually perfect for this purpose and we have managed to name three of the kittens based on observing the litter through the camera. Chunk – As he’s always eating; Twitch – As he twitches in his sleep(and my son whose keeping him, is a gamer); squeaky toy – as the name suggests, has a squeaky meow and never stops complaining.

The camera itself records incredibly good quality video and is able to show images in the dark clear enough to see everything that’s happening. It also features a microphone that’s pretty clear and useful for hearing if the baby or “fur baby” is in distress. This has actually come in handy a couple of times when we have heard squeaky toy complaining, looked on the monitor and seen that Coco has been trying to carry her away to take over the mothering. Something community cats will apparently do once they are comfortable with the fact there’s new kittens in the house.

The kit also has a monitor which has several useful features; Speaker so that you can hear what’s going on in the room that’s being recorded, plus buttons to turn the volume up or down; digital zoom allowing you to zoom in for a closer look; a volume indicator that shows you a rough idea of the amount of noise in the baby’s room and finally a nice crisp and clear 2″ monitor so you can actually see what’s going on at the glance of an eye.

This is an incredibly useful baby monitor and as I stated, it’s not just good for use in baby’s room but can also be set up to monitor other things. The monitor itself has a lot of purposes that it can be used for.

Good product from a company that makes several high end products and knows what they are doing.

A neat and well-made baby monitor from Motorola with good video feed quality at an acceptable price. It’s a simple plug and play device that doesn’t require internet connection to work.

It has two-way audio so you can both hear what’s going on and speak remotely from the monitor. The image is clear and sharp with a zoom function which negates the need to squint to look for the finer details and the night vision mode works well too.

The monitor itself is quite robust, and stands being thrown by my toddler son.

It’s available on Amazon for the current price of 94, which seems fair for the quality and functionality.

Overall, a great baby monitor that works well for us, and it’s an easy recommendation from me.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersVery easy to set up, the quick start instructions are clean and concise. Range is around 50m indoors (depending on wall and floor thickness), but should be suitable for most modern modest sized houses (if you got anything bigger, you can afford to pay a nanny to sit there 24×7!).

Picture quality is OK for the price, it’s only a 2in screen, it’s certainly good enough for it’s intended purpose. Night vision also worked surprisingly well. Audio pickup is good, but not so great on the monitor end. Again, good enough for it’s intended purpose and price point.

I liked how the monitor unit worked both wired, and wireless with the inbuilt battery, it’s a shame there isn’t a charging dock, again, at this price point, it’s hard to criticise too much on that point. It also appears Motorola missed a trick in the positioning and type of the charging socket, so it’s not even possible to sell you a charging dock. It’s also annoying it uses proprietary 5V 1.2A chargers, when USB is perfectly suitable for this voltage and amperage.

Aside from those minor niggle around charging, I think this is a pretty well presented and well performing bit of kit, which for the asking price, won’t disappoint.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMy brother is using this having a baby about 6 months back and now moving to its own room. This device for that reason works perfect.

In the box you get the device itself well packaged with some simple instructions. Will confess last Motorola product I used was a phone from years ago so was not sure how this would fair. Very well is the result.

The device is very easy and simple to get using and pairs within 10 mins done and dusted. The modes are easy to use and you can take the monitor around with an apparent 1000ft range. They have tested upstairs to downstairs 3 floor’s and no problems with signal quality.

The night mode works well. With others they have used, they suggested massive ghosting on the Night vision modes, not an issue here at all which is good to hear.

The battery life on the unit also seems to last a decent chunk of time which instils confidence. Volume is also very good. Baby making noise is clear, but there is not static hissing noise or anything like that you can get with some models which can be annoying. Overall very good bit of kit.

You can and they have had cheaper products from the market. But this one just works so they are largely happy with something that does everything they want, even if it costs a few bit more, the box is effectively ticked.

This is exactly as the description describes and is working with no issues.
    Really good quality too.

Motorola is a well known brand, Motorola was one of my first mobile phones that lasted me for years so I dare say this will last for many years, its trustworthy brand that I can reccomend.

When my adult kids were little I would of loved something like this to give me peace of mind but instead I was up and down the stairs while they slept making sure all was OK but with this there’s no need for all that.

I can reccomend and the price is reasonable.

In this day and age with the common place use of home security cameras, it might be arguable that these sorts of devices are on the way out. However this definitely still has some benefits.

The main one that springs to mind is that there is no reliance on an app to operate, meaning you don’t have to worry that one day the app either stops getting updates or is pulled.

All components are well made and everything is included as you would expect and I like that the power cables for both units (Camera and Receiver) are good and long so you should be able to get a good position. The camera also features good levels of angle adjustment (see my collage photos) and can also be wall mounted.

The receiver features a rechargeable battery pack so that you can be wire free if needed – handy for those times such as being in the garden etc, though battery life is only so so. It can also be used without the battery and simply run off the mains.

Connection was as easy as it could be. As soon as I switched on the camera and then the receiver, it was paired – I didn’t have to do anything further.

Picture quality is acceptable for checking on your little one but don’t expect 4K quality here. The zoom is OK as well. I’ve included a collage photo of a tea candle, one image is normal and the other is using the zoom function.

In screen menu graphics are dated and wouldn’t look out of place on an early digital camera. They are functional though.

If you are after a dedicated baby camera, one where you don’t have to keep checking your phone, this is a good one but you may feel you have stepped back in time a bit, especially if you are used to 4K and slick smartphone interfaces.

Good Baby Monitor That's Easy To Operate... But Feels A Bit Dated In Terms Of Interface & Resolutio

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWow, this Motorola Nursery VM483 Baby Monitor set is incredible and honestly has everything you need to keep an eye on your baby while it is alone in its room. I love how versatile this set is and how easy it is to use and set up! There is nothing worse than a parent having to spend days and nights trying to set up a baby monitor whilst the baby needs some needed attention and TLC. Set-up took us about 5-10 minutes to do though will take longer if you plan on mounting the cameras on the walls. Though the cameras are free standing and stand perfectly fine!

I love that the cameras allow for 2 way audio channels as this will allow you to listen and communicate with your baby when you’re in another room. This is perfect for when your baby is having a nap and you’re cooking in the kitchen and don’t want to disturb his/her slumber by checking up on them every few minutes.

As for the video quality it is good enough and to be honest you won’t really need Ultra HD quality. I would say that the visual resolution quality is compatible to that of 1080p which is more than enough. Furthermore, the camera allows for night vision thanks to the infrared integration in the cameras.

I love the design of the camera and the 2.8 inch monitor. They are very compact, modern and sleek in design so won’t stick out like a sore thumb when installed in a room. The monitor is just about large enough to see your baby though whilst taking up the least amount of space on a table top.

Overall, a great set by Motorola a very fair price tag of 100 (at the time of writing this).

Thank you for reading my honest review, I hope you found it helpful! 🙂

Around 100 (at the time of this review), it seems a bit pricey for what you get. The monitor is easy to set up and use, but the camera/picture quality isn’t the best and I know that there are similar quality monitors on Amazon and less priced. Other than the price, the monitor picks up sounds quite easily, shows the view, is easy to operate and is portable. Battery life lasts a while and you can be at peace with going into another room. When I’m in the kitchen and cooking, I can’t hear my child, but with a monitor, I instantly know when I need to go. Overall, for the price the camera quality could be better, but it works well.

This baby monitor set isn’t the clearest picture I’ve seen but it small and portable and the picture is good enough for the occasional use. Perfect for holidays etc. the camera is small and comes with a plug to power it. The monitor is pocket sized and also has a plug to power it but also contains a battery that lasts for hours. Give it a 16 hour charge before use then you can keep the monitor in your pocket or using the built in stand out it down where you can keep an eye on it. Picks up sound very well and also monitors room temperature too which is useful. The picture is quite grainy as I said before which really is a shame, night mode works well and the picture actually looks a little better in the dark. Other cameras can be paired to the same display, up to 4 it looks like which could be handy if you need more than one. Even with the poor display it’s still a good setup.

Priced at 99 for this baby monitor – is a good value for money and affordable in my opinion. This is definitely worth the price tag as this gives me ease and comfort knowing my baby is safe .. as a housewife, I’m always getting wrapped up in chores and cannot keep a eye on my child at all times, hence this was super convienant and easy for me to use. This gives me a peace of mind and allows me to do what I need to do without worrying too much. I put this in my bedroom when my baby is sleeping and keep a close eye on her from downstairs without having to run upstairs so often. This was very easy to set up and comes with good features, such as night vision/ 2 way talk and so much more. Overall this is a excellent product to have and I’m super happy with this would definitely recommend!

This is a very nice and easy to use baby monitor. The screen size of the monitor is perfect and its not heavy. You can keep next to you when necessary and the stand feature is useful. The Motorola Nursery has a two-way communication function that allows you to hear all the sound signals coming from the baby’s room. You also have the option of talking to your baby through the parent unit.
The video quality is not perfect, but overall it is a great way to check on your child.
Overall, a great monitor with minor nuances that may not bother anyone else.

This is a really good monitor system.

Very easy to setup there are two clear parts.

The parent unit has a decent size screen and is not overly cluttered with pointless info. Picture quality is good and it has handy features like temperature monitor, 2 way talk etc

The camera unit is light and easy to situate and performs well.

A simple, no nonsense unit that performs well. Range is decent. In a new build I suspect would be really good.

You can really notice the difference when you unpack and set up a device made by a reputable company such as Motorola. Everything was so simple to use about this video monitor, the power supplies for charging and running the camera, instructions and fitting the monitor battery were all straightforward and worked exactly as instructed and expected. Brilliant start …

As soon as I plugged the monitor and camera mic unit, it immediately began to work. Although there are pairing instructions, it was not required and the picture and sound came through straight away. again, so easy! This device has no need for wifi, an app or fancy setup, you just fit it together, turn it on and it works.

The camera is small and has a little adjustable stand so that I could place it anywhere and at any angle to get just the right view of the room. It is also possible to zoom into the room, although this is a fixed zoom length and not adjustable. However, if it’s facing your child, you can easily see more detail of what’s going on

I think the next thing that really impressed me was the tremendous distance I could go away carrying the self-contained parent monitor and still get a full signal on the screen. There is a four-bar indicator, like a cellphone that shows clearly the signal strength. I was not able to lose the signal anywhere on my property, even 300 ft down the garden. And this is with a patio door and cavity wall brick wall between the camera dn monitor unit. Absolutely the best signal strength of any mobile camera using I’ve ever used.

This device is of course the perfect baby/child monitor, I can see the whole room and zoom in to where the child is, plus hear every sound that’s going on if I want. In addition, I can talk back and also play some nature sounds through the camera speaker, all from the parent unit.

Great design, well thought out, brilliant range, easy to use and impeccably made, this is a great unit for any parent or pet lover who wants to keep an eye out for anything going wrong, or just wants to be able to give assurance to their child. It does not need an app, or wifi connection, it just uses a secure radio signal to transmit to and from the base and camera unit. This would also be invaluable for people needing to monitor an elderly relative in the same house. I would also suggest that the range would be sufficient for monitoring someone in a granny flat, or extension room attached or near the main building.

Seems like you can also add more camera units and add them in and select them from the base monitor unit. Gotta give this full marks for everything, but what would you expect from a reputable company like Motorola!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent monitor, portable, long range, not app dependant & and highly recommended

This baby monitor is easy to use but you do need to read the instructions provided initially. The monitor can easily pick up a signal from the sensor in my son’s room upstairs. Picture quality is quite good and you can move the camera remotely and zoom in. I’d recommend this product.
