    Pros
    Stable Performance
    Efficient
    PCIe 5.0 Support
    Silent Operation
    Quality Build

    Cons
Maybe price? But it offers great value during promotional deals.

    Conclusion
The MSI MPG A1000G PCIE5 PSU is a solid choice for those needing a powerful, efficient, and reliable power supply. It’s particularly suited for users with advanced gaming or professional setups. While its size and price are considerations, its performance and quality often outweigh these factors, making it a smart buy, especially when on sale.

My old PSU is nearly 10 years old so decided to get a new one.

This one is compact and also features PCIe 5 ATX 3.0 – It’s also quiet and I don’t notice the fan as it runs silently.

Design/looks are good and it’s fully modular, it also comes with a cable bag as a nice extra.

This is the first time I’ve purchased an MSI product and so far it lives upto the hype from other reviews i’ve read.

I’ve bought this psu after upgrading my PC with Radeon 6800xt and R7 5700x. My previous 650w psu was lacking in power for my needs. My previous experience was a loud coil whine, laggy gaming when watching youtube and twitch on a 2nd monitor. This MSI 1000w psu gave my PC a huge boost in performance and in quality of work. MSI MPG A1000G was my choice when choosing a new psu due to the new PCIE5 port, this will make my life easier in few years when I will decide to change my gpu for a new model. Overall, my experience with this psu is excellent. Cables ain’t too stiff and the length is good even for a larger cases. Also the zero rpm mode is good but not necessary as psu is quite even with the mode off.

Ignoring the Gold energy efficiency (which has nothing to do with quality or reliability), this unit is one of the better quality, more dependable examples, and should last many years without component issues.

Great source, excellent value for money, very robust and silent, the cables are thick and appear to be of good quality, a great choice for anyone who wants to enter ANTX 3.0 + PCI Ex5, and of course with a 10-year warranty

Way more efficient as it is PCIE5, includes the one cable with no splitter to plug into your GPU to give you a nice clean look, very easy to plug in and plug out, perfect wattage for my build ( Ryzen 9 7900x and 4070 ti)

Bought this to power my new graphics card. No complaints. The fan speed can be configured to your liking and the software lets me see my kWh usage which is pretty helpful. Probably overkill power wise but a must if you plan to OC high end components.

Decent stable power, good quality gfxcard cable for the newer standard. That said, the other cable quality isn’t as stand-out as some other brands. Very competitively priced compared to competition. Works well with my RTX4090 and 5800x3d

I chose this PSU because it was ATX 3.0 and had a 16 pin cable for my RTX 4090. Everything was straight forward with it and the are a wide selection of cables for whatever your set up needs. So far its been rock solid abd I’ve not heard any coil whine with it.

This is a fantastic value for the money.
Nice packing, cables are not sleeve but, for this money can`t complain

-no issue supplying power to my rig

Building my first PC and came across this PSU before buying another PSU at the same price but lower power. I’ve added this into my build and I like the quietness of the PSU fan but I find the PSU cables to be a little hard to manage but that’s due to my little expenience building a PC. Am planning on getting an RTX 40 series and hopefully this PSU should power everything perfectly with what I want.

My old power supply died an ax850 from corsair lasted me about 12 years, so had to buy a new psu to fix my PC
saw this MSI was a good price has a lot of new things like PCIE5, which includes a +12VHPWR 600w cable for newer GPUs so, in time for me when I get a new gfx card this will be good.
Using this MSI MPG PSU it is very good it does not make a lot of noise if any at all so thats a plus has a small footprint to fit into a case very Compact for its size aslo the 12 volt rail on this is high so thats good it is a quality unit built by CWT.
The cable connections could be better the mobo atx cable could be made not flat as I had to twist it to get it into point on the mobo.
I say msi should make all the cables not flat as they are very wide and a bit hard to get around things in a case.

Chose this ATX 3.0 PSU as it seemed the best bang for buck at the time, upgrading from an older corsair 550w due to a new GPU. A modern PSU and being 850w should last well into the future. Fully modular so cable management made easy and the cables seem really good quaility. Runs very quiet and efficient, there is a physical button at the back to keep the fan off under low load. It comes with the new 12v power supply needed for 40xx GPU so this was also a plus making cable management tidier and no doubt this will be the standard moving forward. Plenty of cables included in the box and it also comes with a nice branded storage bag to keep them in. The nice thing about a quality PSU is that you can move it into your new builds in the future and with a long 10 year warranty and Japanese capacitors I’m confident this will serve me very well for may years to come. Recommended.

I upgraded my PSU With the MSI A850G and couldn’t be happier. The PSU is whisper quiet, has a 12pin connector for my Graphics Card (also comes with a 12 pin to 2 8 pin adapter cable) and is a nice compact size so fits in an ATX sized case easily. The cables also come in a carry bag which is a nice additional touch and makes things easy to organise. Highly recommended and my PC has been running flawlessly since installing it.

Fully modular and there’s no need to mess around with cable adapters for your new GFX card.
There’s a dedicated cable rail for your GFX card that supports up to 600watts.
Zero fan mode it great to keep noise and dust build up down.

Excellent PSU at an affordable price. I’ve paired it with an i9 13900k and an RTX 4090, and it is one of the quietest power supplies I’ve used even at high loads. I purchased this product for the 12VHPWR connector, and have no complaints to report so fa

The cable storage bag that’s included is a nice touch to round off a very neat package.

This power supply is perfect if you have a 40-Series GPU. It operates silently, with zero noise. The overall quality is excellent, and the cables are of nice quality. After returning a loud and faulty ASUS PSU, I found this one to be 100% worth it. Highly recommended!

Bough this to change my old 1000W psu. Great build quality very silent PSU. Just 12VHPWR was braided will be nice to have few more. But that probably reflecting the price. Lots cables what you need is there. Very good value for money.

PSU has been fantastic. Replaced my old 850W due to coil whine, and it has been completely eradicated with this new 1000W A1000G from MSI. I’m currently powering a 464W 7900XTX and it has no issue with powering it whatsoever using 2 x PCI-E Cables and a 12VHWPR to 8 pin PCIE cable.

It’s also practically silent. Very happy with it.

Bought this as an upgrade from 600w and at 850w this thing has given me so much more room to expand now and in the future. It also runs in complete silence which makes me wonder why they even added a “zero fan” mode to it, I’ve never needed to use it. However the most impressive thing about the PSU is the price, compared to all the other PCIE 5.0 PSU’s out there this is a bargain! The only gripe I have is that the 12pin cable is the only braided cable, it would have been nice to see them all braided but its hard to argue this considering the price.

I bought this for a new 4000 series card and system and thought it would be best to get a new PSU and thankfully it has the 600W HiPWR cable so it will be great for the biggest cards.

I really like it and it is straightforward and it has a great weigh

I needed a PSU for a new build and I wanted to get one that would last as long as possible. This 1000W ATX 3.0 PSU with PCIE5 connector and 10 year warranty from a good brand ticks all the boxes, and I’m expecting this to be able to handle anything I throw at it for a good long while. It’s well made, and very quiet, the 0 fan mode button is a nice feature. Installation was very easy, this PSU seems no longer than my previous 750W PSU (some other 1000w PSUs look a lot longer) so that leaves extra room in the case. The modular cables also mean that no excess cables are needed, keeping things tidy. Has worked flawlessly so far.

This was the best value ATX 3.0 PSU I could find for my new RTX 4080 build, without cutting corners on quality. Very pleased with it so far – fit perfectly into my case. Cables are good quality as far as bundled ones go, and I love the cable storage bag that’s included. The 12 VHPWR cable is braided and quite thick, and a little hard to bend/shape – I appreciate the quality, but because you have to be careful not to stress the GPU connector the cable touches the side panel when installed; the 4080 GPU is huge! This doesn’t affect anything beyond aesthetics, but because MSI is a big company it’s easy to find alternative modded cables if you want (be careful to check the pinouts if you do).

It’s very quiet in operation, and I’ve overclocked both my CPU and GPU with no power delivery issues. No complaints at this price point, and it comes from a reputable brand. I toyed with the idea of going with the Corsair RMx series, but for the same price, that one isn’t an ATX 3.0 PSU so I’d have had to use the triple PCIe to 12VHPWR adapter and messed up my minimalist cable management.

So glad I went with MSI on this one, the lengthy warranty and quality build make this easy to recommend, and it paired well with the MSI Z690 MOBO I chose, too. Will definitely be going MSI on my next build!

The power supply works well and is very quiet, the auto fan stop works great and won’t kick in unless I’m really pushing my 3080 and 7900x and even when it does, the bearing design is good with no annoying noises, you will hear other things in your system before you hear this.

Wanted a new PSU that has the new 12VHPWR connector for the future, with the current cashback offer of 20 back that will make this power supply 120, 5 cheaper than corsairs refresh of the RM850E at 125 which also includes the new cable. However the E line from corsair does not use japanese caps, has a shorter 7 year warranty and have seen many complaints of the fan constantly stopping and starting with even low load applied and horrible bearing noise from the fan.

This power supply is more akin to the RM850(x) lineup, with a highly quality caps, made by a good ODM with a solid record and a 10 year warranty, if you can get it right now with the cashback it’s absolutely worth it, at 140 it’s pretty close to corsair’s high end stuff so I may look there instead, just depends on current pricing.

It also includes a 12VHPWR PSU side to 2×8 pin PCIe cable so you can use that for clean cable management instead of running two separate 8 pins if you don’t have a 12VHPWR GPU yet. I fully expect all high end GPU’s to move over to the new standard in the future so I’m happy my power supply is ready for it when I upgrade in a few years.

It powers my new gaming rig. Best components for great price, long warranty and I can’t hear it running at all. I can recommend this PSU and I would buy it again. One thing to let you know – if you are replacing your old modular PSU with this one then most likely you have to replace every power cable too. I wanted to do it the easy way and I just removed my old modular PSU and left all the old cables. Upon connecting them to this new MSI PSU my computer wouldn’t start. So I had to replace all the power cables with the one’s that come with the PSU and then it started without problems. Just letting you know in advance so you don’t panic

Bought the MSI psu to run my new Asus 4070ti . Came well boxed and good packing . I like everything about it , apart from the cheap and tacky ribbon cables . So I am having to purchase some better cables ( sleeved ) MSI really need to do better , after all its not a cheap PSU .
Registering PSU was a nightmare ( PLEASE RIGHT DOWN the CHK CODE .. before installing the psu) as you need it to register and the code is NOT on the packaging .
I am running it as I type and it is whisper quiet ( I have both panels off ) and can barely hear it from 500mm away . Not a lot of room to connect cables into the psu , I have an ITX build and case . The 12VHPWR cable is a single braided affair , just be careful when attaching it and DO NOT put a sharp bend in it ( I will be putting a CABLEMOD connector on at a later date to cable manage and hopefully sort out the heat problem . Cable touches the windowed panel , so I dont have any sharp bends . I hope this short and Honest review is helpful to those that are contemplating purchasing an MSI MPG A850G PCIE5 PSU

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersKeeping this one short and sweet: I was sceptical about buying a new PSU from a new OEM supply, especially from Microstar’s own brand as it was untried and untested with the launch being so recent so I took a gamble and went with the MSI MPG 850w.

I’m glad to say it paid off wonderfully, I’ve been using this PSU for four months now and have been running an MSI B550 Gaming Carbon Wifi, Ryzen 5800x at 4.8Ghz turbo clocked and an MSI RTX 3080 Gaming Z Trio almost flat out with 8 system fans, an NZXT Kraken Z53 AIO, 3 RGB controlers and 6 SSDs and it’s still pushing out flawless performance with zero issues.

The fan seems pretty quiet from what I can hear with a slight, barely audible coil whine but with the kind of brutal loads I’ve been putting it under I’m just shocked it’s been able to keep up and so far, touch wood has been absolutely bulletproof.

In summary, I’m glad I took the dive. It’s a decent workhorse PSU with a good OEM build standard as are most branded higher output gaming PSUs right now. It seems to hold down strong powerloads well from my initial testing and use.

Also, for those saying it “isn’t compatible with some AM4 motherboards”, please be aware that the extra 4-pin power connector for your board IS NOT required and you will 9/10 times never need it. The extra 4-pin connector on your board is for extreme overclocking use only and you can use the board perfectly without connecting the extra 4-pin without any drawbacks. Unless you buy a PSU that is double or triple the price with a dedicated 4-pin attached and a great deal higher wattage overhead then you will almost certainly find one as standard on a PSU at this wattage or price range.

Definately reccomended. It’s a very good OEM rebrand and worth the money.
