I have been using this monitor for about 6 months now and I dont have any problems with it other than it could be curved a bit as its really wide.
Hard to get used to as its ultra wide screen but great monito
I bought this monitor for my gaming PC that’s its primary use and for that its fantastic. The resolution is easer to drive than most ultra wide monitors and its refresh rate is high at 200hz. Its also flat which is a big plus for me. For desktop use its good but not perfect the resolution is perhaps a touch too low, and colour accuracy is not brilliant so it no good for photoshop or video work really, but that’s not what its meant for. I can 100% recommend this monitor for gaming and to dip your toes into ultra wide gaming without breaking the bank, and for standard desktop use (web browsing, youtube, word-processing, spreadsheets etc) its fine.
o calibration needed out of the box, agree with Toms hw review – read it for setup advice, very informative.
display is night and day better than old Acer Predator 32 100hz curved it replaces,
colours pop for hdr media playback
mac air m1 perfect with usbc at 144hz,
ditto an nvidia 2070 super
zero dead pixels.
only irritation was removing the sticker on the side / top corner – some bits of it affixed with what seemed like superglue and needed hairdryer to heat up and remove instead of scraping it off

Good monitor for gaming for its price, but definitely not without fault. You will have to spend a lot of time setting up colours on the monitor and it will still feel a bit off. Colours are oversaturated and it’s difficult to set up the gamma properly. You will have to use external software to help you with this, such as quickgamma and cltest.
Came without any issues. Display itself is clean and without any dead pixels. Perfect new condition as it should be.
You can choose very fast responsible time and get image stabilization like Zowie’s “DyAc” which is great for games like CS:GO.
The image is saturated enough and great colors. Also it’s not so heavy as others, i was surprised by its lightness. Good mount for monitor.
Dp cable, power cable and power brick coming in the box. Definitely recommend.
Wanted to wait a month before jumping on here to say how I felt on day 1. But firstly I like to say I only got this monitor to run my ps5 on. But I didn’t own a ps5 at the time so I run my ps4 on it at 60hz and tbf it made the ps4 look alot better than my Qled tv. Basically turned my ps4 in the ps4 pro which I didn’t expect.
So a month later I got the ps5 I wanted a monitor to run in 1440p pure gaming experience lucky for me ps5 just updated there system to run 1440p.
Now for the review. Start saving your penny’s people because this monitor is blissful to say the least. Really happy with it. Enjoying next gen gaming now. And everyday gaming I’m smiling. The colours straight out the box no firmware updates was fine. Playing at 120hz is again an experience I would never want to change.
Change monitors after using a Samsung curved one. The image quality in the MSI lovely but the most amazing thing is the colours. Have not adjusted anything from the out of the box settings and the colours are so vivid. Like night and day compared to my previous monitor. Love i
Been stuck with 1 monitor this whole time, until I found this beast of an ultrawide monitor. Worth its price with both G-Sync and AMD Freesync, no signs of dead pixels for now. Great find on Amazon, I can now multitask easier with a bigger display.
After setting this up using it for a while, I thought it was great, perfect for for 4k gaming on my console, then I noticed some these stuck pixels, I’ve tried to use some software to help fix these, but sadly not working, will have to sadly contact Amazon to either see if they can replace this.
Like others have reported, it flickers randomly whilst browsing…no fix from msi
Update: Upgrading the DP cable did not help, however updating to the latest nvidia drivers and game intelligence software appears to have fixed the issue for me at least.
So I love the screen works well can see everything very sharp. The only problem I have is that it does not have a way to save pre-sets. or at least an obvious way that I could find. Sor for example I play tarkov and its very hard to see in tarkov so I have to adjust brightness, contrast, night vision and image enchantment every time I start and finish playing tarkov… which is a bummer considering the price of the monitor its quite and oversite. But other than that its a very nice monitor! And I love it 🙂
The monitor in terms of price (bought on prime day) provides great gaming monitor with all desired color modes like Adobe and RGB. The one i received has dead pixels (my luck) and MSI wont consider those as an issue if they are not in bunch of 5 dead pixels around each other. I had three at different place.
When gaming it was find but once you notice those dead pixels its hard to unnoticed them, thus sent the monitor back. From brief time using it i really liked the monitor otherwise with 240 refresh rate and 144Hz screen.
I got it for only 230 so 1440p, 165hz, IPS for that price is very good. But the stand is disappointing. You can only slightly swivel up and down. You can’t move the screen up/down and you can’t rotate it left/right.
Of course that’s described in the product description but still not great.
Some backlight bleed, as expected from IPS, and at this price bracket.
Dont be bothered with HDR, its only 400nits so just a marketing gimmick.
165Hz works only via DP, 144 with HDMI. Comes with two port USB hub.
Can be fiddly if you use it as external screen with laptop running Linux, but I had no issues on Windows 11.
Image is nice and smooth, colors are decent. Make sure that your GPU can drive it, freesync and gsync work as expected, so tearing is non-existent in my experience.
Now for my favourite part, its aesthetics are toned down, it doesn’t look like a “gamer” monitor, unless your desk makes you see it from the back, RGB can be turned off in menu.
Arrived with no bad pixels, quite heavy, so keep it in mind when assembling.
For context I use this monitor for video work and gaming
I upgraded from my MSI 1080p 144Hz monitor and once calibrated. Don’t get me wrong it’s great stock but a few tweaks really make the QD worth it. HDR is shark too, amazing darks. Blacks are black and don’t dull grey. USB C port AND AirPlay is available which I didn’t know until I was fiddling around.
I didn’t have a faulty monitor unlike some reviews on here, mine had no dead pixels and was In flawless packaging.
All in all, a fab monitor, will be swapping my old MSI for another one of these.
Coming off the back of a PG42UQ, which I realised was just too big and had massive problems with OLED, the MPG321UR-QD was not an awful lot cheaper (900) than the one it was replacing (1400) but while the MSI feels fractionally overpriced, it is a very, very good monitor and you do get what you pay for.
The obvious features you want, 144Hz , HDR and g-sync compatible are indeed working in abundance, and for gaming it’s probably about the best 32″ model on the consumer market.
Some chap presented a review saying the default colours were diabolical and that it didn’t wake up right – this may have been fixed in firmware because the default image was excellent and there are no issues waking it up.
The wealth of image options you have here are huge, and the HDR is probably the best I’ve seen on any screen aside my OLED TV – a massive issue with OLED is the maximising of windows with regards brightness – they dim, in short. Not a problem with this IPS screen and while the pure brightness is obviously never as strong as OLED, you can maximise those windows to your heart’s content without losing any vibrancy.
In terms of gaming and general picture, it’s top class – it might not rewrite the rules of screens but it sure refines existing ones and gives everything you’d need in a monitor for all purposes.
Like I say, maybe a little overpriced, but generally there’s nothing I can fault it on and it’s the best monitor I’ve ever used.
I never really done a review but i thought i must
I have upgraded from a 27inc Montior to this MSI 321QRF-QD one and i didnt think it would be much bigger but i was surprised
The picture quility stright out of the box is awesome the colours are vibrant and the brightness is perfect for me.
MSI have added loads of extra to this contents of the box as well you get wall standoff DP cable HDMI cable
just everything you need really.
Gaming is a dream on this its ultra fast response times help with FPS even tho im not great and with it being so large i can sit back and watch some films and series as well which also look really good.
All in all a awesome monitor for every need.
I purchased this monitor for use with a new gaming PC, wanting something that wouldn’t be too expensive but would be reasonably good for gaming and basic tasks. Having not owned any monitors of this size previously, I was a little sceptical about purchasing a wide screen monitor this big. But having used it for about a week, it is fantastic. I play a lot of MMORPG’s and the experience feels a lot more immersive when played on this monitor. The colours are rich and vibrant on the screen which also makes for an enjoyable gaming experience.
This monitor is also a great size for gaming and the wide screen aspect allows you to comfortably have multiple windows open at once, ideal for multitasking. The USB ports on the monitor can also be used for USB devices when the monitor is connected to the computer via USB upstream. This is great if you need extra USB ports for devices.
I was surprised at how solid the construction is in the stand. The arm and base have some weight to them which keeps the monitor nice and sturdy when placed on a desk. I also found tilting and rotating the screen to be easy. The monitor is height adjustable so the screen can be adjusted to the right height and angle.
The desktop and mobile OSD apps are a little confusing to use as the monitor has to be connected to the PC by USB to use it, something that isn’t well documented. However the monitor’s own OSD is easy and straightforward to use with no setup required, allowing easy changes to settings and configurations. If you want to configure some settings in depth, such as the mystic light, then this looks to only be accessible via the desktop or mobile OSD app.
Conclusion: For me, I think the best thing about this monitor is the picture and size. It is great for gaming. I think that this is a great value monitor that fulfils my needs and exceeds my expectations. A great wide screen monitor with a great price.
This is my first ultrawide monitor after using a dual monitor set up for several years, I wasn’t too sure if I’d like it to be honest but immediately after setting it up and using it, it felt super comfortable and natural too. The one thing I immediately noticed when playing games is how immerses this felt automatically when gaming. I’ve never been into racing games, but I imagine the experience would feel amazing with this monitor. I think I might buy forza or something to test it out.
I would say I find this monitor slightly dark and not too bright or least it felt like that in Red Dead 2, I did however only play with it for all of 10 minutes so it may just need some settings adjusted in that game. I did run an old game (Bully) on the monitor, and it seems totally find and normal brightness so may just be independent of the games 😀
I also work from home quite a bit and made a point of testing out writing of documents etc. on it, I use split screen quite a lot for working and can’t go without it and this helped.
Overall I’m super impressed by this monitor for the price point, suits my needs 100% with extra bits that I never knew I needed.
I always liked MSI products, probably now I have 6 or more of them. Had MSI headset years ago and it was the best headset I have ever had for the price. Now about the monitor…
The picture in the review is my older MSI monitor (left one) and now the main monitor is this, ultrawide (right one). Please take a note that colours are more vivid now that I have found a colour profile for this monitor.
I love MSI design. It is simple, but does not make you feel like you bought the cheapest option available. It is not the cheapest anyway. As I said, I always liked MSI products. Clean and budget friendly. Thin bezels, futuristic look.. that’s what I like. It “helps” my setup look fancier, more clean. My very much budget gaming setup now matches my old monitor as well!
I do not really play FPS games much, but you can feel refresh rate change in any game. FPS over the roooooof for my fellow gamers:))
Price of this monitor is really good for us, budget gamers. It delivers excellent performance and price match. Better than you think you’ll get!
When it comes to colours this monitor does need some work. It was quite bright and colours were not super vivid when I just took out of the box and plugged in. It was not difficult to do that though, so it should not be an issue. Other than that I have no complaints! Maybe we’ll see when electricity bill next month will be sent to us, hoping low efficiency will not effect my budget that way haha.
Would definitely recommend this bad boi!
Came with no defects as far as I can tell, first thing I noticed was how crisp and smooth everything feels.
Definitely you want to put this into sRGB mode and tweak your colours, after that this is literally the most beautiful picture quality I’ve experienced- love it!
Love my new monitor, colours are vibrant and eye catching, the refresh rate is excellent. Not sure if I would spend the full 500.00 if it wasn’t on sale for 349.99 at the time but this is a fantastic monitor if you are in the market for one.
I recently purchased the monitor for my son’s birthday, and it has been amazing so far. He has found that:
– After updating the monitors firmware, the sRGB mode has stopped oversaturation, while the colours stay vivid and life like.
– 165Hz looks very nice and is far smoother than 60hz, the monitor also works well at lower frame rates thanks to G-Sync
– The high 2560 by 1440 resolution allows you to have lots of windows open at once without sacrificing readability
– Building the monitor was straightforward, only requiring a couple included screws and a screwdriver.
Overall, the monitor has met his expectations and has lots of features for the price. He would definitely recommend it, especially at the current discount as long as you remember to update the firmware!
I use this product in a 2 monitor setup as the main monitor, it is great for gaming and general computer use. The difference in picture quality compared to my old monitor is astounding, it is great value for money and is definitely worth a buy.
Mine came with the up-to-date firmware fixes (Anything newer than FW.014, very important). I personally have it set to Professional > P3 picture mode set the brightness to 50, temperature is set as Normal, and sharpness at 1. The blacks are not great, as to be expected at this price, but importantly, I can run 1440p120hz (120fps) with FreeSync/VRR on the Xbox Series X, which some monitors cannot do. Colours on this monitor are lush in P3 mode, sRGB mode is fantastic too for a super accurate gamut. Keep HDR OFF! If you want good HDR, get a TV. I’m happy with it.
Went to 1440p from 1080p and I have to say its a HUGE improvement for both gaming and just everyday use monitor is superb colours can look a bit too saturated but you can switch modes or adjust them in the settings with a few clicks to make it look how you want.. im very impressed and would 100% recommend this monito
I took a chance when I purchased this monitor. I built a gaming system and was still using a 3D TV as monitor however I wanted to see if I was greatly missing out on graphics when playing games so decided to look for G sync monitor and after stressing out looking for ages at so many finally decided on this one and long story short and pleased I did. I’m running Windows 11 with MSI B450 gaming pro carbon board and Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 super and this monitor was made for this board. all the bells and whistle work really well together too many to mention both board and graphics card sync perfectly together and mystics are a bonus if you like that kind of thing. this monitor has everything I think you need for a gaming rig and size of screen is perfect I’m loving running games at 2560 x 1440 at 165Hz refresh rate it’s really nice to experience that level of refresh rate for a change especially after being stuck on 60Hz for so long. it’s large enough for a desk top gaming system in fact its perfect I’m really happy.
Not sure how this would perform on other motherboards but after you doing research and it works just as well I highly recommend this monitor. is it more than I wanted to pay but glad I coughed up and got it out the way now my system is complete :).
Bought this as a replacement for my old Dell U2414h.
Pros:
+ Great ergonomics
+ Great refresh rate
+ Screen Quality
+ Wide colour gamut
+ Minimal ghosting
+ Nice balance between value and performance
+ Good price
The only thing this monitor is lacking is kvm switch. Overall highly recommended!
The 27 inch display @ 1440p is a perfect match for gaming and for use in multimedia apps. Colour coverage is solid when playing across all titles i’ve played so far and makes my previous monitor look rather bland in comparison. The stand and overall build quality is robust. High refresh rate and G Sync were exactly what I was looking for. The current 140 discount certainly sweetens the deal and makes it a must buy at this price point.
This is an excellent gaming monitor for people who want smooth 144Hz gameplay with instant response times! I am new to PC gaming, but wanted a 27″ display that could fit on my desk and knew that at that screen size a 4K monitor would not be needed. The ultra-low latency made this the obvious choice compared to other similarly priced monitors.
The monitor is connected to a RTX 3070Ti and they work perfectly together – my expectations have been exceeded! Also the USB connections are great for connecting my mobile phone and wireless headphone chargers!
The stand took less than 3 minutes to assemble, and the instructions were clear and concise. The settings display is easy to adjust, with a red knob on the rear of the monitor.
As someone new to PC gaming, this has been a great purchase, and I cannot wait to connect it to my Xbox One X and see how it looks on console as well.
Pros:
+ Build quality is fantastic.
+ I love the adjustability of the screen stand that comes with it (great height range, tilt, swivel, and rotate)
+ Screen quality can be fantastic – mine has no backlight bleed, colours are well balanced after a little calibration
+ A lot of cool OSD options
+ Input options are fantastic especially if you work across various devices
Room for improvement:
~ Would be nice if there was a gamma adjustment option in the OSD
~ Would be nice if it came with a KVA hub to switch USB devices along with the screen input.
Cons:
– the real world looks less pretty.
Great screen, works with g-sync, great colours, I’ve a GTX 1660 and it runs this OK, getting 80-100 fps in No Mans Sky on medium/high settings. Don’t use sharpening as makes text look naff. Can I tell if it’s got better colour coverage than a monitor 100 less??? No . Am I disappointed with it, also no. Did I wish it was on offer?? Maybe ….
I was a bit worried ordering this monitor as I saw all the reviews about the monitor arriving with dead pixels. I decided to take the gamble and give it a try. Mine arrived with no issues. Overall I love the monitor, the colors are good and the perfomance is great. That being said, if you want to order this monitor just keep in mind all the people who did not have as good of an experience as I did.
Not sure about all these issues with colours but used an ICC profile and it worked nice. The contrast is amazing and it’s great for gaming. Had issues with viewing the monitor over long sessions at first with eye fatigue but it went away with time. Nice punchy colours and great blacks. Slightly dark around the edges when looking at a white screen though but you get used to it. Response times were as good as my TN monitor from before which looked grey and had dull colours. All in all a great purchase and improvement from old monitor.
Worth the money but it you want something better value, get the MSI G273QF has slightly less vibrant colours, same performance for games but a non adjustable stand.
So after a week of working out which monitor to get it came down to this vs the ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQ. After reading the reviews I was concerned about blacks looking grey, or the oversaturation of colours. But everything looks great and games look incredibly smooth running at 165hz. Text also appears very crisp.
I did use Rtings ICC profile for the settings and it toned down the brightness and made the colours better but I think i would of been happy either way. I still don’t know if this is worth the $120 more than the 7AQ but it runs at much higher Hz and I love this thing. Personally I don’t see any issues with this monitor at all
Coming from a Pixio PX7 that had seen better days. The mag27qrdgf is amazing in both picture quality and refresh rate and even if you cannot reach a consistent 165hz frames within gaming. The gsync compatible module is amazing and makes every game feel smooth even during fps drops.
I had no issues with dead pixels or overwhelming backlight bleed so far and the over saturation issues were solved using a ICC profile from rtings and some monitor OCD adjustments.
The only con I would have is that the rgb on the back of the monitor is not very bright or noticeable and the monitor could have been made cheaper if it were just removed as you won’t see it unless you look behind the monitor.
The monitor is great for gaming, but the colours are so inaccurate even the calibration tool cannot reign it in. The viewing angles aren’t as great as they claim. But you won’t notice that when gaming. For office use get something better.
The monitor has amazing colours, although out of the box they are oversaturated which I don’t mind. But a recent firmware update has added an sRGB clamp which fixes the oversaturation issues. The 165Hz refresh rate feels really fast along with the low response times. The only issue I have is it’s somewhat poor reflection handling which isn’t too much of an issue most of the time. Apart from that this monitor is great and does everything right.
Tested the PG279QM and the AW2721D alongside this monitor, ended up returning them both for this. For me the 240hz wasn’t worth the almost double the cost of this monitor. Pros of this monitor are the amazing response times and input lag aswell as the colours, they are over saturated as hell out of the box which helps spot enemies in game but luckily they added sRGB in a recent firmware update which not even the AW2721D has. That means you can watch sRGB content normally now without the saturation making it look gross. My only nitpick would be the contrast and white uniformity. Which really is a fault with the IPS technology not this monitor specifically. Can’t recommend this monitor enough.
