Got this for the a friend as she keeps dropping them down the toilet. But she is delighted with it. Lasts her all day, loves the camera, loves how smooth it is while using it on apps and internet etc.
This is my first smartphone, so I needed an easy-to-use device. After an afternoon, I’m sure I’ve got to grips with most of the features.
Easy to set up ….. Once you get use to the features it’s simple and easy to use ..
Photo quality is also great ..
Don’t read to much into the negatives on feedbacks .. I suggest give it a go .. you can always send back
The phone itself is fast for what I require it do such as maps, social media ect.
The battery life is also very good, I usually get about 1.5 days to 2 days with average screen time.
Very happy with the purchase.
This replaced my previous Nokia c1 phone & is great. I just needed a bit more memory so that’s why I changed. It works like my old one which I loved but is a bit bigger & has more memory. Would recommend.
It is also a very good price compared to similar phones.
yet to use it buy seems to tick all boxes for me.
Have had this phone for a week now and it’s been great. Battery life is fantastic – about 2 days with heavy use. Huge improvement from my previous Google Pixel 2! Clean version of Android which I like and a decent camera. I have had no flickering issues some other reviews mentioned. I think the finger sensor seems more consistent than my previous one on Pixel 2
A nice enough budget phone. Not the fastest etc but for the price really good. I like the phone.
– Dual SIM & SD card slot;
– NFC;
– 3.5 mm jack;
– great battery (will degrade over time, but better to start great);
– Android 11 installed, should get up to at least android 13 and security updates up to March 2025;
– plain Android with barely any crap preinstalled (which in any case is possible to get rid of);
– fast enough for browsing, chatting, etc. which is my use case;
– ok camera: good for the price in daylight; not that great when dark;
– supports faster charging (usb-c slot) if you swap the original charger with a more powerful one. But I charge it overnight and not an issue for me.
All in all, recommended and you won’t be disappointed if you understand what you’re buying.
This is still a very slimline & compact phone, measuring just 76mm x 164mm x 8.5mm and weighing in at 190g. It’s a 4G phone which is absolutely fine for me. It’s not locked to any particular carrier, and can take 2 SIM cards (nano size), and a micro-SD card of up to 512GB. It runs Android 11 at the moment. Charging & data transfer are via a C-type USB plug in agreement with the new EU standard. To transfer files to & from your PC, you need to go into the “Connected Devices” setting, & select “File Transfer” from the USB option. Alternatively, just remove the Micro-SD card, place it in an adaptor, & plug it directly into your PC. It’s compatible with a fast 18W charger, which shaves some time off the recharge time. The 5050 mAh battery is not removable (unlike my old C01 Plus).
The front camera is 8MP, while the back one is 50MP. Like all smartphones, it looks a bit like the Monolith in 2001, although the back is a nice dark blue colour (Nordic Blue). It does have some advanced features like a fingerprint reader, although I prefer to log into my phone using my PIN. Unlike my previous phone, this one IS compatible with my HSBC mobile banking app, and the Tesco banking app. It also has a built-in FM radio with RDS, which I find to be a very useful feature! I’m surprised many boom-boxes don’t have RDS, since it fits fine into my phone & MP3 player! There’s space for about 25 icons on the first screen, which is fine, and you can have your less-used icons on the 2nd screen. I’m really happy with it, although I’m not really a smartphone guru- but for me, it’s more than adequate. I’d recommend this phone for anyone looking for a well-priced unit, of fairly high spec.
Recent problem: I’ve noticed recently that sometimes my new phone can get quite slow, or even freeze in the middle of using it. Sometimes it gets so slow that the only option seems to be to restart it. I’m not sure what the problem is- perhaps too many processor-hungry apps running in the background? Another problem I had was that it wouldn’t play some of my MPEG2 videos. I solved this by downloading VLC media player from the Play Store.
Lastly, the phone doesn’t come with a detailed instruction manual, but you can download a PDF instruction manual from nokia.com. Just search for nokia g21 instructions.
Update: My phone has recently upgraded itself to Android 13, which doesn’t seem to me to have a lot of differences from 11 or 12, although the display may be a little more user-friendly now…
It really aggravates and I’m not convinced that it does what I’m used to expecting from a mobile computer away from your desk-top. Bad move Nokia, your old phones were much more user friendly, shame you went down the Android route. I’m not happy. Patrick
The battery life is amazing. It’s chunkier that my Nokia 8 but I love it so far.
Can’t wait for the Android 12 to be released for this phone.
Thoroughly recommend the phone due to its budget price.
And for the most part I have to say this is the same
A good, stylish, solid looking phone, with a decent (although not quite as good as advertised) battery life
There is the occasional software glitch, apps that may not open as another app is somehow blocking use even if no apps are open, but this doesn’t make it a bad phone, just a bit annoying at times
The interface takes a little getting used to, such as not having specific buttons for back or to open the list of open apps etc. I found this annoying at first and almost sent the phone back tbh, but stick with it and it actually feels intuitive after some time of using it
The camera is ok, not amazing quality but it’s a camera phone, what do you expect
All in all I really like this phone, it does everything I need it to and cost me little when compared to others on the market
If not for the slightly annoying software glitches i would have happily given It 5 stars
My one has a bit of flickering in the screen sometimes. For that I wanted it to be the smartphone replaced, but Amazon customer service told me that I have to send it to the repair service, so, is too much hassle….
Thanks!
