This is my 3rd purchase of this case for iPads, it is a great protective case with a cover for when you travel. It also has a screen protector. The cover also works as a great stand in either Landscape or Portrait position. The only thing I don’t care for is the thin material they use to cover the Home button as it sometimes inhibits fingerprint recognition. I just remove it. But as I said I have bought 3 for 3 different iPads, so I do recommend it.
Esta genial. Necesitaba algo que protegiera de verdad ya que era para el nio y hemos acertado de lleno. Lo ms difcil abrirla la primera vez, tuve que ver un tutorial. Recomiendo.
I purchased this for my sister. It did not have any instructions for her to follow. She could not figure out how to disassemble it to get the iPad in it. She was worried that she would break it.
I had to assist her since I had already used my own. I will say that it was very difficult to get it apart, and I was afraid that I would break it. But that is part of what keeps your iPad so safe if dropped.
Excelkent fit and finish, very nicely protective and easy to install.
I have a Gen9 iPad, and (IMHO) if yours is used half as much as mine, is absolutely necessary.
My iPad doesn’t live a life of luxury, and goes everywhere with me, including camping.
It’s difficult to say how many times it’s saved my iPad from damage, but it’s substantial.
Highly recommend.
This is a great product. You can tell it is going to protect the devise the minute you take it out of the box. A little pricey but we’ll worth it to protect your valuable iPad.
Gif this for my nine year old to protect his iPad. He can throw it around and it’s protected. I love it.
I always use the defender series covers. They work great last a long time. They are priced a little high usually but sometimes you can find a real good deal on them, but I would highly recommend them.
I used to swear by Otterbox. I felt confident that if I dropped my device, it would be protected. Not so much anymore. Chose a Lifeproof case for my phone over a similar Otterbox case. Wish I could have done the same with this. In fact, I had an inexpensive Chinese case that was better in many respects, but I gave that away and opted to go back to Otterbox. Unlike previous Otterbox cases, this one is more plastic than rubber, and I would not want to risk dropping it from a height greater than three feet, and even that would make me uneasy. For the price, it’s not worth it. I do not recommend this.
Only just fitted on my autistic sons iPad today so we’ll have to wait and see if it survives. Quality is excellent. Only issue I had was putting it on to start with. Quite difficult to work out but once you get it you can see and justify the cost.
I had this case for my original iPad. That’s about 10 years old and was looking to get the same for my new ninth generation iPad. I love this one just as much as I love my old one. I admit it’s hard to get apart to get the iPad in and my husband had to help me. We watched a YouTube video for installation, but other than that it’s great protection, and the built-in screen protector is amazing. I find it very sensitive to touch. No issues. I have never had a problem with the old case and so far, knock on wood, this new case is working, just as well!
La funda es buena y protege pero las esquinas del uso se rompen y es cara para ser plstico
FOR ALL KIDS!!! My son has Autism and abuses his iPad from impulsively throwing it, to dropping it down steps, ect. This thing is one of the best investments I could ever make for an iPad with ANY child and we have apple care.
Buy this now-Seriously!!!
*screen protector built in* 3 layers of protection *military grade superior to all others *you don’t have to use the hard outer shell to feel properly protected. *good looking and sleek design (outer shell is bulky but we don’t have to use it all the time)
I wish I would have bought this sooner, it’s worth the price.
Case is extremely sturdy and heavy duty. Only issue with the case is that around the home button and front camera, the plastic screen cover doesn’t always sit flush so dirt, dust, and particles get between the cover and the screen. You have to frequently take apart the case to clean. Not ideal for a dirty job site or prolonged durability having to take it apart frequently.
I was tired of wearing out cheap cases so thought I’d try an OTTERBOX. Well, it’s almost too robust for my armchair use. The case after assembly is actually two pieces. The part that holds the iPad and the cover that clips over it to protect from nuclear threats. The cover acts as a base/stand but there is really no solid connection between the two. The main selling feature has got to be protection rather than ease of use. I’m also not happy that the raised edge is so high above the screen surface it tends to get in the way when using the touchscreen. If rated only for its protective function and durability it would be 5 stars. If rated only for its ease of use probably 2 or 3. The other peave is that the push buttons are very difficult to depress through the case material. I have an OTTERBOX on my iPhone and think it’s a better fit than this one for my iPad
I ALWAYS put OtterBox on my Apple products! I have dropped my phone, & iPad multiple times, and thankfully the OtterBox cases have saved them every time from damage! One pro tip- DO NOT REMOVE THE THUMBPAD “sticker” looking piece on the home button. It is suppose to be there. My child quickly removed it from her me of the 5 I bought. Save your investment with this product! (Also has space for Apple Pencil)
It took a little sleuthing to understand how to put the iPad in the case. I was not expecting the screen cover, and I was skeptical if I would like it. After finding a video on youtube demonstrating how to install, I was able to complete in a few minutes. The screen cover seems ok after using a few days. This seems like it will protect my new iPad, so I’m happy about that. The hard shell snap on cover/stand probably won’t get much use, but I feel it is good to have. All in all, very happy so far. I also have the Otterbox for my iPhone and that has been very good as well.
In 2020, We made the decision to get my four and five-year-olds iPads for Christmas after their kindles gave out and we needed something we could use for virtual learning at the time. They were an early Christmas gift, so they started using them in October 2020. Knowing the age range of the kids these iPads were going to, we knew they needed protection. We’ve always gotten Otterboxes for our phones to protect our investment and never had a cracked screen. With this experience in mind, we got an Otterbox with the built-in screen protector for each iPad, and double-protected it with a tempered glass screen protector under the Otterbox screen protector. Fast forward to January 2023, virtual learning is long gone, the iPads are mostly for play. My kids are now 6 and 7 and their iPads are still in great shape. The other day, my son had the perfect drop. Hard, right on the corner. Made me cringe. The force of the drop was so powerful that it ultimately cracked the tempered glass screen protector we had under the Otterbox built-in screen protector, but the iPad made it out unscathed. I just replaced that tempered glass cover, and we are all set. My oldest daughter’s iPad is about three years old and protected the same way and no cracked screens here. My advice: Protect your investments. They will last if you spend the extra money to protect them properly. Don’t get cheap cases. They don’t work the same. You get what you pay for.
Have Otterbox Defender cases for all my phones. They are the best. My ipad will be snug and well protected.
This is a very sturdy case but I had to go searching for YouTube videos on how to install it because the product came with NO INSTRUCTIONS for some dumb reason. Installing it is a bit annoying but not too hard.
It’s very durable but my main annoyance is that the “stand” is not actually part of the case and more of a secondary accessory that can be stored on the case. So to use the stand you need to detach the stand , expand the stand to the desired angle, then slide the iPad in. I was hoping it would be a stand that pulls out from the case itself. Overall this is a good buy but I’m convinced there are better at this price or lowe
We’ve had a few of this brand of case – on phones or iPads and they have served us extremely well. We have an older iPad which has had one of these cases on virtually from day one. It makes the iPad possibly a bit bulky – but it has saved it from disaster on a number of occasions. Our grandsons use it to play games or watch children’s videos and it has been dropped a few times! The case takes all of this in its stride. Because it includes a built-in screen protector we are able to just wipe off any sticky/chocolatey finger prints etc. The front cover section which doubles as a stand is also quite useful – not quite so much for everyday but if we take the iPad out or just to prop it up for more than one person to watch.
I bought a Kindle paperwhite otterbox paperwhite otterbox defender case back in 2014. Since then, I can’t count how many times that case has protected my Kindle from getting damaged.
After that track record, I had no qualms about getting the same type of case for my iPad. After encasing my tablet into this case, I have no questions that this case will protect my iPad just as well as it protected my kindle.
Full disclosure, the biggest thing I needed a protective case for is to protect against crushing and torsion/twisting issues. The last tablet I had got it’s screen cracked within the space of a month while being carried around in my messenger bag due to other things in the bag crushing/twisting the device.
While I’ve dropped my kindle several times from a distance of 4-6ft, it’s not something I’m really concerned about. With that said, it protected my kindle fine and I’m going to suspect it’s going to protect my iPad just as adequately.
Had one of the on my iPhone for 0ver 5 years and it has had a few knocks, but still looks like new when I remove it from the Otterbox, the iPad one is just as sturdy and the stand fits over the screen when not in use, as an extra layer of protection and has two viewing angles to set the iPad at… Excellent thank you
Hands down, Otterbox is the BEST. Don’t waste your money on anything else.
No cons whatsoever!
The best for me is the premium rubber and soft touch when you hold, not plasticy at all like Griffin.
This case is solid and strong. Perfet to protect my iPad.
A little heavy, but not so as to detract from the overall excellence of the product.
A great product offering a very high level of protection for your expensive and fragile iPad.
This case totally encloses the iPad when closed for travelling with a solid protective all round case design which then doubles as a multi position stand when opened leaving the screen still covered with the transparent screen protector. It also makes it more tactile and easy to hold and therefore less likely to drop easily. I also bought one of these for my girlfriend’s iPad Pro.
Stylish clever design, providing great protection.
It’s an otter box which is great quality, good pricing and fast deleivery as usual thankyou
INDESTRUCTIBLE !
Typical Otterbox quality & durability.
This is a manufacturer’s brand new product (not a knock off or blemish)
I purchased this large version for my new full size ipad- because my old ipad mini is so old it stopped working…but still has it’s original Otterbox from 2014 going strong!
My last one lasted 8 years (ipad mini) & it is still in use today (the rubber casing barely loosened up recently just from being so old).
Otterbox quality is unmatched in the industry. I have taken it across the planet for work without thinking twice about if my ipad was going to get damaged or not. If you close the case together with the screen facing inside, it is impossible to get damaged. The stand is a very hard plastic. There are two positions for the stand use in horizontal & one position for vertical. Rubber pads on bottom of stand to pad on hard surfaces & keeps from sliding. Full clear plastic screen protector.
I use alcohol wipes to clean the surfaces without issue. Once case is installed over the ipad, very little dirt/dust can get inside. I took mine fully apart once a month to clean ipad with alcohol wipes (only as a precaution, it was never required)
I will purchase another one in the future….probably another 8 years.
Great Product- buy one now!
Great case, always buying otter box and never and never disappointed . Bought it for my sons school iPad.
Perfect protection for my new iPad… it’s really not worth buying anything else. Otterbox is the best.
Hard wearing, does a great job of protecting my son’s I pad from drops and messy hands.
Otter box is always awesome – we are an otter box family. We always trust the great tested quality of this brand.
Very good product. Expensive but get what you pay for.
Maybe not the slimmest of cases, but when compared to a typical folio-type case, there isn’t a huge difference, for vastly improved protection.
Fitting is *interesting* – but simple enough once you work out exactly how hard to press on the locating lugs. The manual could be more helpful in this regard, but it took less than 10 minutes even so.
It comes with an integral screen protector- not immediately obvious from the Amazon listing, with the result that I ordered a separate one, which I then had to return!
Once fitted, the case gives excellent protection. Not the easiest to open when the lid/base is clipped on, but again, easier once you have the knack.
The two stand angles are helpful, although I do find myself wishing for an intermediate position fairly frequently.
Having seen soft folio cases disintegrate after a year or so, this one looks like it will outlast me…
