I’ll give it five stars once I’ve figured out how to get the answerphone to work. Yes, I’ve read the instruction manual but so far no joy.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersHaving had for many years both phones in my home non-corded, I was unsure if I should purchase this one. I am glad I did. It is an excellent phone with good sound quality and seemingly very easy to master, although to-date I have not utilized all it’s many features.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersThis is a great phone set, the biggest thing for me is the fact that I can use the phone even in an electrical blackout, all you need to do is install normal batteries when the power goes off. There are lots of features, block calls, caller ID, etc. Well worth the money.

This panasonic phone with answerphone is everything that I needed in a landline phone. It also comes with an extra cordless phone which I can carry around the house with me. The many functions it has are numerous and has a user friendly screen that tilts up or down to your requirements. I would highly recommend this phone.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersPurchased this system for my shop as I previously had only one wired telephone which meant leaving customers waiting if we needed to check something on the shop floor. Our previous phone was very basic and had no features. Purchased this as I liked the look of the portable phone as an accessory and we now use the portable device almost exclusively.

There are plenty of features which make this a great system for home or small business. The devices talk to each other seamlessly and we have had no issues in the two or so years we have had this in service. The system is semi-closed, in the sense that it is it’s own little ecosystem but still allows you to upgrade and add additional handsets (which I have.) There are multiple features within the system such as call blocking, intercom calls (handset to handset) as well as a locator feature which can be handy if you have put the portable phone somewhere and can’t find it. The battery life is great on the portable phone and the charging cradle is easy to use and hassle free.

Installing the device is simple. Install the main, wired handset as you would a regular phone. It requires 1x power source (230v) and one line in connection. The portable device requires power only (230v) and the base needs to be powered at all times. You can add additional handsets – check compatibility first but there are many options. In my case, I purchased KX-TGD624EB for my other shop which is a set of two portable phones (one main, one additional) – I removed the additional handset and added it to this base. I believe you can add more than two additional handsets.

Each handset can be named and will all talk to eachother. You can call individual handsets from another internally, or all together. You can also hand-off a call to a different handset, so you can choose where you’d like to “send” it and it will ring on the other handset.

There is a phonebook memory. It’s fairly small at just over 100 entries but sufficient for most uses. You can categorise entries which makes searching for them easier but a great feature for me is the ability to choose different ringtones for each category so you can easily distinguish the call before it comes through. The range on the portables is great too – at most we can be about 20m from the base and there is no drop in quality or connection. The device in the office is only around 5m from the base but must travel through two walls. There is other inteference from devices but this does not affect the quality.

One frustrating feature on the portable handsets is that if there is a power cut or even if power is momentarily lost from the base (such as moving to a different outlet) then the time must be re-set on the device. This is still the case if the master handset has never lost power. I would have assumed that the battery power in the device would retain this information but apparently not. However, you don’t lose your other data, such as contacts, settings etc.

There are features which we don’t use, such as answer phone, parental controls, call blocking, etc but this is more than suitable for my business use. In the future I do plan on upgrading to a more managed VOiP system but this current system is more than satisfactory.

In summary, the sound quality is good. The calls are loud and clear and the ring is also a good volume (also adjustable.) The devices are fairly easy to use and even for someone not very tech savvy they will take little time to become accustomed to. The range is spectacular and will cover even the largest homes and most small businesses. The system is functional, reliable and the hardware is good quality.

I’m sure the era of landlines is slowly dying in residential uses and I am sure larger businesses will use more advanced systems. However, this is a fantastic product at a great price.

Great phone for a small office. It is almost 100% perfect with one small flaw in that the caller id goes off the display once you answer the call. It weird but I cant find out if you can change that in anyway as if you want to take the number down you have to wait until after and go into the call list. Other than that I cant fault it.

Very easy to set up and use. Handy to have the extra handset which I have in the bedroom. This is useful as I have mobility problems and means I don’t have to rush to the main unit to pick up before the answer phone kicks in! The only gripe I have is the main unit only has one ringtone and can’t be changed. The cordless unit has 40 including Xmas tones!

I bought this for a friend who had a really awfully bad answer phone. He is delighted with it as the big screen shows the number of the caller and the speech quality of incoming calls is very good indeed. The remote handset that comes with it also gives good quality clear speech of callers, plus it works up to 50 metres from the base unit. The built in phone book is easy to use and can be copied from one phone to the other. We have a Panasonic phone ourselves, it is years old and just works, all the time – every day, faultlessly.

I like its features and clear screen, it’s easy to use and set up. It was a bargain at the price it was purchased at.
Not so good, sometimes the volume is quite low, also the cord to the handset very short, and handset is on the small side.
Those aside would recommend it highly.

Very good. Lots of good features, but volume is still too low even on max. volume. Amplify option is meaningless on max. volume. Not suitable for partially deaf people at all, unless it has some sort of hearing loop or hearing aid Bluetooth, which I don’t think it has. Call blocking, answerphone, good display size and announcement of calling phone number or name is excellent and much louder. Would give 4 1/2 Stars if I could!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersBig display, easy to use. Really excellent, except for two grumbles. (1) The accompanying booklet says there are two pre-recorded answering messages, but there are no instructions about how to find the second one. (2) Two rechargeable AAA batteries are needed. They supply them for the separate handset, and they’re cheap enough, so why don’t they supply them for the base phone? I bought some from Panasonic, but they only sell them in fours. They arrived in two separate packs of two. Why? Why make me pay for two I don’t need? And why not just include them?

I bought this for my elderly mum because she has bad health and getting up and down for constant cold callers was not nice to see.
Now she can press one button and bar any future calls from cold callers and any family or friends in her phone book or quick dial are announced by the phone. For example if I ring her it will say ” Alans calling” so she knows without doing anything whos calling, it also shows on the screen. The answer phone kicks in after the 5th ring and then you can hear who is calling and answer if you wish. Finally the extra potable phone that i got with it is great. she can have that besides her at the other end of the room and answer / make speed dial calls without having to get up. It also has a handy belt clip.
    Very pleased with it.

Desk unit is quite large, but buttons and display are also larger. Looks smart in an office.
Cordless extension phone is easy to use and seems to work well.
A bit concerned the desk phone still needs mains power. It has a backup battery option, which I have tried and it works fine, but will only last a few hours with the power off.

Sound quality is good and other people say it’s very clear when I speak. The answerphone message playback is clear too. The thing I like most is the large display, the text is big and easy to see. I also like the ‘Do Not Disturb’ feature. The only thing that’s slightly annoying is when you add numbers to the phone book, you have to wait a long time after each letter for the cursor to move along one space…otherwise you’re typing over what you’ve just entered. I have brought this brand before and trust the make.

I’m not using all the funky functionality because I don’t need it – but I had to search online for instructions even on how to adjust the ringing to suit me, so aside from making & taking calls, not the easiest to get started with.
(I’ll probably eventually work out how to use some of those features and maybe start using them – I’m rather glad I don’t need to tho.)

But I really like it for my simple needs, now I’ve sussed the essentials.

As with all wireless phones it seems, I wish the charging stand came with a longer power lead – has to be too close to the power socket for convenient placement.
Also a simple redial on the wireless handset would improve it a lot… but it is possible I’ve missed how to do that, too, as it took me age to stumble upon how to save a number to its phonebook…

I like the looka nd feel of the phone. The base unit is quite heavy which is good. The cable for the handset is a little bit short though for me. On a shiny surface the phone tends to get pulled off the table. Also the electronic voice i am not sure of yet .
I like the freedom cordless handset and the sound quality seems good so far. The main unit is a bit like an office phone so i suspect the mobile will be the main thing used. Good having two handsets each in different rooms. Less running to answer calls.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersOur old Panasonic phone died after about 10 years. Having been happy with the phone, and having noted that Which? reviews were generally very positive about Panasonic phones we settled on this one with both a corded and cordless handset. Both handsets can be used handsfree. The base unit is larger than our old one but looks very smart with a clear layout. The buttons are a decent size – no tiny mobile-phone type buttons here so fewer fat finger mistakes! It is also much easier to see when a message has been left (out last phone had a more or less flat base and you only noticed the red flashing light when viewed from above). The answerphone can apparently hold 40 minutes with a maximum of 64 messages – we aren’t popular enough to have tested that feature out yet!

The cordless handset isn’t the clearest although I suspect that this is as much to do with the architecture of our house as anything else – we live in a converted barn with thick walls. There are various controls you can use to improve the sound quality but these don’t seem to make a great deal of difference. There is also a call blocker which I haven’t had to use so far. There are some features, such as accessing a caller list, which only work if you subscribe to Caller ID and similar services. You set up alarms, etc but our needs are pretty basic – a phone that works in a mobile telephony not-spot and that can record messages when we are out.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAs a basic answerphone it is fine.
Keys and display have large characters – easy for someone with limited acuity.
And it has some unadvertised features such the ability to ring an external number when a message is received, and a variant of the intercom where any sound ‘heard’ on one handset triggers an intercom call to the other.
But it has the surprising restriction of only one ring-tone (and an ‘office sounding warble’ one at that) on the base unit. I don’t want anything exotic – just a bell-sounding traditional ‘ring ring’!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAn excellent ‘phone set for the money from a well respected Japanese brand name. This was purchased for people with hearing difficulties and the features provided for that work well. The purchase was also made necessary due to the demise of a Gigaset outfit which simply gave up the ghost not long out of guarantee. Other reviewers on the relevant pages have also spoken of this peculiarity. The main unit is quite large and even though it is supposed to be wall mountable, I’m not sure I would want to. You need to picture it in your room before you buy. It needs an electric socket nearby and a chair, due to the extreme shortness of the handset cord on the main unit. I hope this ‘gives’ a bit over time as, at the moment, it’s a bit of a nuisance and the reason for the missing star. I do a fair bit of diy and when I have turned the power off on various occasions, the battery back-up has worked well. It re-charges once the power is back on. The cordless satellite hand set is a really nice unit with a clear screen and an easy to follow menu. It also has similar facilities to the main unit for assisting the hard of hearing.
Having said all that and this is nothing to do with the product review, this is probably the last landline telephone I will own. My whole household is now properly conversant with smartphone use and I now very rarely give out my home phone number or put it on online or ‘hard copy’ forms. Should this unit ever fail, I will seriously consider being ‘mobile only’.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI was searching for a phone to use in my office at home and found this challenging to find a solid analogue phone with some memory spaces for speed dials. Having checked this out it looked good albeit I needed to have a cordless phone included which I didn’t need. I found this an excellent choice. it ticked the boxes for what I needed, I found it intuitive to program speed dials and it feels solid ( I had an agent phone for 3 years which never felt solid and had the most confusing speed dial memory feature that I never used it – it duly kept losing sound if the wires were at a certain angle and the speaker phone system worked less and less). Only gripe is the unwanted cordless – please tell Panasonic I would have paid 59 for just the Corded phone as it filled a gap in the market with little worthy competition that I could find!

Golden Review Award: 32 From Our UsersGot one of these after reading other reviewers comments – always a sensible thing to do. Its uncomplicated, easy to use (especially the remote handset) and with clear reception. I like to use the speakerphone facility which is excellent, and another plus point is that the answerphone is so easy to switch on and off. Haven’t seen these for sale in retails outlets, so glad I used Amazon. with no regrets. Can’t recall the supplier but it was delivered promply and was well packaged. My wife likes the corded phone and the fact that she can still take calls while sat on the toilet….

Since purchase just over a year ago the battery charger and power adapter/plug have ceased to work. Although I have a separate battery charger for AAA rechargeable batteries, I would like to get hold of a replacement cradle with charger for the cordless phone. Does anyone know where to get one and how much it would cost ?

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI’ve had the phones for a couple of weeks and I’m very please with them. Both the main and the cordless phones have a substantial feel. Easy to use, clear screens, large buttons on both phones, good volume and crystal clear speach. Good battery live on the cordless handset. I haven’t tried out the range but I suspect its pretty good.
I bought the phone for use in my home in France as I couldn’t find a phone I wanted here. The phone is plugged into the phone socket on my internet box (an Orange Livebox). The phone works perfectly including calling number identification. I had to change the cable between the phone and the Livebox as French and UK phone sockets aren’t compatable and fit adapters to the mains plugs, other than that no problems.
Great product well worth five stars.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHave been looking for a “traditional” telephone base unit with a mobile extension for some time so delighted when I saw what Panasonic had to offer having had similar experience of their similar products previously. Although only received the set some weeks ago, I haven’t been disappointed so far. The base unit telephone is a well made quality device with a host of useful functions including answerphone, call block, speed dial/re-dial, speaker phone, ability to link to PBXs where required and intercom facility to the handset. Voice quality and volume are excellent and I am particularly impressed with the speakerphone quality and volume which can be very variable on some devices. My only criticism is that the ringer could be louder and more distinct.

Handset is spot-on Panasonic quality with the features and functions you would expect (with most being in common with the base unit). Voice quality and volume, plus speaker quality and volume, are both excellent although I do get some static when speakerphone is initially activated – it only lasts for a second or so and am not sure whether it’s through the device or the connections although, either way, it’s not really a big issue. Again, ringer is not ideal IMO.

In short, it seems a really good product.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersThe main reason for the purchase was to block scam calls and replace an aging corded phone with one that would have easy phone book set up and missed call displays. It does this well.

I wanted a corded base station with battery back up so it would work in a power cut but that also had cordless stations that could be linked. This is one of the few on the market with these features. So really good. The set up is straightforward and call blocking very easy when a call rings, after you answer or programme in a blocked number beforehand. Note you need caller display from your phone service provider which can cost around 4 a month but many provide free. You can block when using the cordless station too.

The display and buttons are clear and straightforward especially on the base station.

The negatives knock off one star.

You can not send texts (I could even with my old aging phone). However having mobile contracts now with texts included this is less of an issue.

The base station only has one (not that pleasant) ring tone. Absolutely crazy in this day and age. The cordless station has different tones though.

A real issue is that the base station has a battery saver mode and you would think it cuts to this on a power cut but no if you select battery saver it goes straight to it. This mode means it just works as a simple phone AND to get be out of this mode you have to take the batteries out and you lose all your settings and phone book etc. In the set up instructions it mentions this mode early on and does not explain it very well. So you think that it would be good to even switch manually to battery saver in a power cut. Well I would agree except that you lose everything to get back out of it!

Golden Review Award: 21 From Our UsersGood quality product, significantly better than other DECT phones we have tried. Also a major plus for us was the ability to wall mount the base unit, few DECT phones these days have that capability.

Pros: Clear display; good sound quality; ease of use

Cons: Range from base unit to handset could be better; call blocking facility is of only limited use, since most nuisance calls just display as ‘Out Of Area’ with no actual number that can be blocked.

ADDITIONAL HANDSET: For some strange reason the additional handset TGFA30 is being treated as part of the TGF320E combo for review purposes, even though they are ordered quite separately and supplied by different companies.
I want to comment about delivery of the additional handset from LiGo – it was very poor indeed. The original target date was not good (almost 2 weeks from order) and then they failed to even meet that date! When it did finally arrive, the courier did not bother coming to the door (even though we were in) and left the box outside in the rain, not in my specified safe place.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFantastic telephone package! Main phone is brilliant perfect for home or small office with answerphone, speed dials and phone book capability. Being able to put a caller on hold as well as loudspeaker are great features. The call volume is variable and is really loud when on full. The large display is excellent visually displaying the time when not in use. The cordless handset pairs brilliantly with the main phone, transferring date, time and address book between the two. Loud ring and clear display again a massive plus. The ability to switch between the two is great. We managed to pair an additional device but this isn’t in the manual as not all additional devices are compatible, lucky ours was. I would recommend this to anyone setting up a small business or home office and for just general use in the home. Great price especially compared to other similar phone systems

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersExcellent combination of corded phone and (up to 6) cordless handsets (one is supplied as standard). This is exactly what we wanted as my wife prefers to use a corded ‘traditional’ handset as a main phone, but I wanted the option of at least one cordless handset upstairs. The phone has been simple to set-up, has a good range of ‘sensible’ core functions (answer machine, hands free, 100 name address book, 3x 1 touch speed dial buttons (+ ability to use the keypad for up to 9 more fast dial contacts).

Build quality and design are nice IMHO, the screen while only B&W is clear and easy to read.
There is a usefull ‘lost handset’ function to ‘ring’ the portable handset if it gets lost down the sofa!.. and there are many more sophisticated functions (call baring, call transfer from base to handset etc. for those needing a more businesslike phone).

You can connect a hands free ‘headphone set’ (not supplied) to the portable handset if needed, and (using an adapter cable – sold by a 3rd party on Amazon – link in one of the other reviews) you could do the same to the base station – connection would go where the normal handset plugs in.

It does not support some of the fancier features – it is NOT Bluetooth (despite what some other reviewers say) and does not connect to USB or Wifi.. but for the price ~65 I think it’s good value and certainly met our needs.

I bought the Panasonic KX-TGF320E to replace my old Binatone Combo 2310 which had started to develop problems with the sound quality of the base unit. The Panasonic phone has some advantages over the Binatone and some detractions. The Panasonic phone base unit has greater weight than the old Binatone which had the problem of moving when you moved the handset cord. The number backlight on the Panasonic is useful as is the number blocking function. The 40 ringer sounds should cater for most tastes. I also like the fact that the base unit can read out the telephone number of the person calling you. Additionally the energy use of the Panasonic like the Binatone does not register on my energy monitor. Where it falls short of the Binatone is in that is does not have quite as crisp sound quality and if mains power is lost it requires batteries to function where as the Binatone didn’t require any to make or receive basic calls. Overall I’m happy with the purchase, it’s a sturdy, smart and well made phone.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersDecided to purchase a corded main phone with a cordless add on, when after my previous cordless phones batteries both died on me, this was while I was trying to sort out a complicated matter through a banks call centre, they can not call you back apparently? on two occasions the phones died when still trying to get my problem solved.
For the third call I went to my shed to get my old corded phone, which I dusted off and plugged in, recontacted the call centre and for the third time off I went.
Thankfully my problem was resolved, but only after a total of 5 hours on the phones. Had it not been? Well I’d rather not think. But I then resolved not to be hindered by battery life on my main phone. Found this one, good phone, clear reception, with the bonus of being able to switch calls from one phone to the other while caller on line. So far happy with it.

Golden Review Award: 32 From Our UsersGood quality phone, needs plugging into mains, does have a battery compartment however they recommend you insert rechargeable batteries. So will have to pay an extra amount for these,as the ones supplied go into the handset. Relatively easy to set up and the handset was able to sync in automatically. Good size display and happy with purchase. Will have to look at getting a longer cord on the main phone as the one on the handset is very short. It is a bit pricey but we wanted a corded/cordless phone with the option of batteries as we live in an area that can have black outs. Recommend the item, but be aware of additional costs (that’s if you want the batteries and the longer cord).

Golden Review Award: 38 From Our UsersThis has proved to be an excellent phone. I decided to use if a while before I wrote a review.

The base station also a usable phone – why there are so few manufacturers doing this I do not know, it seems the most logical solution. Changes made to the address book on one phone automatically updates on the other, useful. The main telephone display is clear and large text. All the functions work well and are easy enough to navigate without reading instructions. Though some menus are a little clunky one gets used to working round them. The ‘melodic’ ringtones are optional, there is a basic ring option. And the ringer can easily be muted on base phone and cordless independently – hurrah!

Last but not least – having a cordless handset which uses ordinary rechargeable batteries is such a sensible approach! So, when the battery dies one doesn’t need to find a suitable special fit one, and – in an emergency I reckon regular batteries will work too.

There are plenty other positives about the phone, headset options, intercom etc., I am so happy these came on the market. My first answerphone – way back in the days of cassette tapes – was also a Panasonic and it never let me down. Long may this one continue. Well done Panasonic.

Golden Review Award: 48 From Our UsersI got this phone about a week ago because I’d been getting a lot of unsolicited/nuisance calls (PPI, Accident Claims etc.).
I have set it up with my own answer phone message (easy to do) and I now let the machine answer all my calls.

My recorded message really does seem to put a lot of the human generated nuisance calls. I’ve yet to see how the recorded nuisance calls will react to it. If they are not cut off automatically by the caller, then the recorded message will just be saved and I can erase it at my leisure!

It seems to be working, as I’ve had several “callers” hang up, and when checking their numbers (via Google) and establishing they were nuisance callers I just block them.

If I don’t want to speak to a caller I just let the machine take a message anyway.
The base unit phone will remind me I’ve got recorded calls by beeping and flashing a light. Useful when called whilst out.
The sound quality on the answer machine isn’t brilliant, but I can hear it well enough.

It does a lot more things too, but I don’t need all the functions. You can even interrogate the answer machine whilst you are out, if you need to know what calls you have missed. This function can be secured by a PIN number so nobody else can access it.

The mobile handset seems to hold a charge well and I haven’t needed to return it to its charger yet.

I’m pleased with my purchase and would recommend this phone.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersFor years, we had a binatone systm. The messages on the answer machine were always of poor quality and eventually, the portable handset died, so it was time for a change. We were attracted to the sign of this panasonic and at 61-00, thought it to be reasonably priced. It arrived promptly and was relatively easy to install. So far, the quality of sound is good but I have noticed that two different recorded messages I followed over the phone were unclear. I’ll have to keep eye (ear) on that. Also, I wasn’t convinced the answering machine was working. The screen on the master hand set is more pix-elated than I imagined and, indeed, less clear than on the portable handset. When viewing the answer machine page off the menu, a spanner appeared alongside the recording icon. As far as I could see, there was no explanation for this in the manual. So I phoned the panasonic helpline. The dialing code has changed to 03444 as opposed to the 0844 given in the manual; great start! After waiting a while, I did talk to a technician. The spanner refers to settings and as far as he could discern, the machine was up and running. I have yet to unravel the various options but all seems OK.

Golden Review Award: 56 From Our UsersThis combo phone set arrived pre-registered and talking to each other so set up was extremely simple. After adding time and date and favourite calls on the base station found they had all transferred to the extension. What I particularly like about this set is that blocking nuisance calls is so straightforward. Living in an area subject to power cuts, I also like the fact that the base can still make and receive calls during outages after 2 AAA batteries have been fitted. Saves me looking out my trusty old phone immediately. Lots of features which I may not use, but nice to have the options. As is normal with Panasonic, the sound is great and the finish immaculate. Got a start when I received a voice message telling me I had an incoming call from my daughter. This set extends range of my phone capability in my home. It would also be ideal for a small office considering the numerous features available. Delighted. Well worth the money!
