VA monitor.

The Philips VA LED monitor uses advanced multi-domain vertical alignment technology, which gives you static contrast ratios for particularly vivid and bright images. Conventional office applications are displayed with ease, but particularly suitable for photos, web browsing, movies, games and demanding graphic applications. Thanks to the optimised pixel management technology, you have an extra wide viewing angle of 178/178 degrees, which allows sharp images.

SmartContrast.

SmartContrast is a Philips technology that analyzes content display, automatically adjusts colours and controls the intensity of the backlight to dynamically improve contrast. This ensures optimal image quality at all times when watching videos or playing with dark shades. In economy mode, the contrast is adjusted and a fine adjustment of the backlight for perfect display of everyday office applications and lower power consumption.

LowBlue mode.

Studies have shown that short-wave blue light rays from LED screens just like UV rays can cause eye damage and affect eyesight over time. The Philips LowBlue mode uses intelligent software technology to reduce harmful short-wave blue light and thus ensures well-being.

Used a second monitor, used with HMDI from the laptop and VGA from the Swann CCTV system. No issues from either. Not used for gaming so not pushing it for graphics capabilities, fine for an excel workbook…

Delivery was prompt as amazing usually is. I’m sure I read it was an A energy rating when purchasing but now says e or f and the stickers say the same. Also now see it comes with 3 hdmi ports, it doesn’t it has 1. Easy to install stand. Not tested speaker quality yet but display seems adequate

Safely packaged. Easy to set up (picture instructions). It took a few minutes to understand that when setting screen preferences, the arrows for toggling up/down etc were not via the keyboard, but the ones actually on the screen buttons! The default setting were fine for me.
I had noted in other reviews, the sound was mediocre, but as I only use it to play music via Spotify (other music companies are available!!), it is fine. The sound was indeed quiet, so I set the default sound to 100% via the screen controls. This gave me maximum output, which I then controlled via the Spotify volume controls. It’s not exactly Bose(R), but it is fine for background music while I’m working (it is a little “tinny” compared to my old Optronix screens’ speakers, but it’s fine).
The screen itself has a clean, neat finish and the actual screen is matt, so no glare. I am used to a 19″, square screen which i was able to access without needing to turn my head to see the whole thing, so this wide screen will take some getting used to but I’m sure I will in time! Overall, I am pleased with it for the money. Time will tell….

I was looking to upgrade from my 22″ TV/monitor used with my RISC OS Rasperry Pi. Needed at least a 27″ screen and speakers. So far I have no complaints about the monitor display and sound and a bargain found in the Amazon ‘warehouse’ deals for less than a hundred pounds.

Using as a screen for working at home. Decided to replace my old 21 inch Dell, which I was straining to see properly. Saw this as a warehouse deal and went for it, largely due to the fact it was cheaper than a lot of the smaller monitors. Glad I did as it’s so much clearer than my old monitor, both due to the bigger size and much better colour/contrast & definition. Very pleased with it.

Just like me really. Anyway – bought this for 89 as a cheap home office monitor for the bosses holiday home. Nice colours, reasonable quick when set to 75hz.

It’s a basic panel. Not the best I’ve ever seen but by no means bad, 95% of the population would find this more than passable. The speakers are awful though. Like so bad I’m not sure why they bothered putting them in.

So if you’re just browsing the web and doing word documents etc this is more than good.

Turned on , on arrival , sound blasted my eardrums , press button controls at base of screen . Cannot turn it down ? use PlayStation or computer video and audio controls on screen to send very low audio to the screen : the colour is soft as I like it , can be brighter , I set all to medium easier on eyes ; only has 1 x hdmi although write up states 3 ( will get a splitter ) computer/ PlayStation / printer I needed 3 ; but price is excellent for what I received 27 inch sits on my desk and visually just right ; will buy a universal handset controller to point at the thing next to control sound and on/ off

I have recently started a new job as 3rd line IT support for a big organisation. They provided me with a 13″ laptop which needed enhancing. This 27″ Phillips monitor has just the right refresh rate, display properties and connections to make it the perfect companion. Great price and fast delivery too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect DSE monitor for home working!

Bought two at a great price, when they came out the box it felt like the first time they had been removed. Certainly don’t look as if they have ever been used, all packing was original and even had the Phillips tape on the box.

If you are like me who isn’t a tech person but is simply looking for a decently-sized monitor with speaker to connect to your other device (e.g blu-ray disc player/pc), this is the one for you. Super easy to install. Pretty great quality. I am happy about this purchase.

Love the size of this monitor it’s perfect it’s so easy to set up which is great for me as I am not one your whiz kids with all this technology these days. Some reviewers have complained about poor sound,ok it’s not great but just ok, but at this price the quality is really good and I am told that even budget priced speakers are better than built in ones. so l may purchase some when l have read some reviews. From Amazon of course. So from my experience so far with this monitor I would recommend it to anyone wanting a modern wide screen view. Oh by the way it came with leads suitable for connecting to my Dell desktop so no further expenditure required. Happy customer Tref

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our Usersbuy your own cables – VGA, HDMI 1.4, 3.5mm, IEC 60320 possibly.
It uses the IEC 60320 socket if you need a mains lead.
I am using my own VGA & HDMI Cables.
All that came with mine were mains & a cheap HDMI, no VGA, no 3.5mm.
I ordered a VESA stand same day, I DO NOT like the plastic thing it comes with.

Bought mine for use with a CCTV system, the screen is smaller than you think, would not recommend getting the smaller one.
SOOO glad I ended up with a 4K 32″ monitor for my computer, I would struggle with this.
AntiGlare as promised, worked straight out of the box.
110 delivered is VERY reasonable for what you get, 1/4 screen view is just fine.

PROBABLY no good as a main monitor, but as a secondary or for FHD video systems – works fine.

    My monitor is the PHILIPS 271V8La – 27 Inch Fhd Monitor, 75Hz, 4Ms, Va, Speakers, Adaptivesync, Flickerfree, Anti-Glare (1920 X 1080, 250 Cd/M, Hdmi/Vga).

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI really like these monitors for work, they have a narrow frame to the left and right which means I can stretch a spreadsheet across both monitors (with very little gap in the middle).
Exactly as described except the stands or monitors aren’t exactly level, I have had to pad the bottom of one stand to make them perfectly level. Annoying but still happy with the result.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersIt’s a basic easy to set up monitor at a reasonable price, comes well packaged with mains and hdmi cable, plug it in and away you go. Not height adjustable, but tbh that’s not an issue for me.
The built in speakers, however, are dreadful. I’ve got a better speaker in my phone. I can’t imagine why they bothered fitting them. I’ve disabled mine in my pc settings as the ones on my laptop are much better.
Buy for the price and screen quality, not the speakers

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent monitor, awful speakers
