Less eye fatigue with Flicker-Free technology

Due to the way brightness is controlled on LED-back lit screens, some users experience flicker on their screen which causes eye fatigue. Philips Flicker-Free technology applies a new solution to regulate brightness and reduce flicker for more comfortable viewing.

LowBlue Mode for easy-on-the-eyes productivity

Studies have shown that just as ultra-violet rays can cause eye damage, shortwave-length blue light rays from LED displays can cause eye damage and affect vision over time. Developed for well being, the Philips LowBlue Mode setting uses a smart software technology to reduce harmful shortwave blue light.

SmartImage game mode optimised for gamers

The new Philips gaming display has quick-access OSD fine-tuned for gamer’s, offering you multiple options. “FPS” mode (First person shooting) improves dark themes in games, allowing you to see hidden objects in dark areas. “Racing” mode adapts the display with the fastest response time and high colour, along with image adjustments. “RTS” mode (Real-time strategy) has a special Smart Frame mode that enables highlighting of specific area and allows for size and image adjustments. Gamer 1 and Gamer 2 enable you to save personal customised settings based on different games, ensuring best performance.

SmartContrast for rich black details

SmartContrast is a Philips technology that analyses the contents you are displaying, automatically adjusting colours and controlling back light intensity to dynamically enhance contrast for the best digital images and videos or when playing games where dark hues are displayed. When Economy mode is selected, contrast is adjusted and back lighting fine-tuned for just-right display of everyday office applications and lower power consumption.

I bought this monitor after shortlisting this monitor and a Samsung 32″ monitor. The reviews for the Samsung 32″ said the Samsung monitor slanted to the left and has a power button on the back that is fiddly to use, as well as if you temporarily want to power the monitor off, when you power it back on again, all of your opened files appear on your primary screen, so you have to re-move them all to the Samsung monitor. Well, guess what, upon buying this Philips monitor, it has exactly the same issues as described for the Samsung one. I’m reckoning that both monitors have to be made in the same factory for the issues to be identical. Apart from the issues, this monitor does have great brightness.

I use this as a monitor for my desktop PC and also use a NOW tv stick as well. Great crisp image for the PC and excellent picture when using the NOW tv. The big disappointment were the built in speakers, I’ve used the headphone socket into my powered speakers, much better. Not a big issue but there is only one hmdi input, these two things is why it gets a 4 rather than a full 5 stars. Would still recommend as picture/image is great and out weighs the minor issues.

I am very happy with this Monitor, it is wide (I can have a Spreadsheet and a Document visible side-by-side at the same time) and legible.

I can’t really comment on the speakers, they certainly aren’t HiFi but they seem perfectly adequate.

As it happens, despite the stand being perfectly adequate, I bought a separate arm (Amazon Basics Single Monitor Stand) which allows me to angle and pivot the screen (handy for long winded, boring documents); this arm is not as steady as I would have liked but it suffices.

Veramente borderless, sottile, l’ho installato con un braccio a standard Vesa ed stato facilissimo.
    Consigliatissimo!

Decent picture quality. The controls are bit fiddly. Slow to switch on. Plastic feels bit tacky in places . Try to get the one with height adjustment. Guess there is little point in making the fixed base for this type of monitors

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAmazing picture, bright crisp and gorgeous. As you can see in the photo, the Philips screen is as bright and crisp as the 2020 M1 MacBook Air Retina screen. Very impressive indeed!

Built in speakers are extremely poor though. I bought the monitor for the picture quality, so I am extremely pleased with it. I use external speakers so the internal speakers will never get used anyway

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Monitor for picture and video

Great monitor, runs a little on the dark side but nothing too bad.

It has speakers but as everyone else says they are pathetic, in fact they are beyond pathetic, inbuilt laptop speakers are miles better, but if you need sound do yourself a favour and get an external speaker for the job – good example is the small portable Bluetooth speakers by Anke

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGood 4k display, enough for usual work from home activity.

Unfortunately my arrived with dead pixel, as you can see in images in black circle. It’s a bit annoying when you work in programs with dark theme, which they are most of them now.

Would definitely not recommend this display, I think in this decade of this century, there shouldn’t be any dead pixel present.

I think this is a very good monitor, in fact I have bought a second one to replace a perfectly good one that I have had for two years.

I used them on their stands at first and the stand is nice and solid, I now have them on a duel monitor stand as I needed greater movement due to my desk layout, so I can say that the Vesa mounting point is sturdy and easy to use/

Ive had a few and this so far has been a great monitor for the price! 259 4K, DP and two HDMI ports. Cant go wrong. And Speakers too. OK they are not great but seriously thinking about another one with I get the MAC Mini ordered.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersThis monitor is excellent, whilst the bezel is quite small, there is a 4mm inch area on the sides/top which is “black” and no image is displayed. In comparison with other monitors, given the price, and overall dimensions, it did not bother me at all.
The speakers are small, and therefore barely better than the ones on a laptop, again, enough to watch a YouTube video, etc. Also, take into consideration that the overall thickness of the monitor is.
The PIP / input split is a feature which I could not master(but not really tried too much), It seems that only works with ONE HDMI and ONE Display port, it does not support using each “picture” from a different HDMI source. (But again, could be something I’m doing wrong, as don’t really use that feature, I consider it irrelevant)

Overall, I replaced a a 15 year old 24 in Dell, with this monitor, and it sits on my desk further back, it’s barely larger(while the screen is huge, and much better quality)

It does what it says on the tin, excellent value for money!

I am happy with the screen – very clear – and the stand is stable and adjustable for height and tilt. I was looking for a screen with built-in speakers and thus limited my choice – and paid more. I have to use this screen with external speakers because they are the worst I have ever heard! The quality is about the same as those you get in greeting cards!

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersThis is review for Philips 288E2A 4K monitor 60hz I am really happy with this purchase the picture quality is amazing as I use it to play my ps5 on it and watch sky tv, it has 2x hdmi ports, display port, audio out port and a head phone jack is an amazing monitor but one downside is the audio that built in the monitor is not great so I hooked up my JBL speaker using audio cable through the headphone jack on the monitor. Overall am really happy with this purchase.

Bought as an extra monitor whilst working from home, needed something that had more accurate colour than my Samsung monitor. And in that regard it does the job, very nice design and the stand is great. However I literally had to destroy the packaging to actually get to the monitor – possibly the worst piece of packaging I’ve seen in years.
