SmartImage is an exclusive leading edge Philips technology that analyses the content displayed on your screen and optimises your display performance. This user-friendly interface allows you to select various modes, like Office, Photo, Movie, Game, Economy etc., to fit the application in use. Less eye fatigue with Flicker-Free technology
Due to the way brightness is controlled on LED-backlit screens, some users experience flicker on their screen which causes eye fatigue. Philips Flicker-Free technology applies a new solution to regulate brightness and reduce flicker for more comfortable viewing.
LowBlue Mode for easy-on-the-eyes productivity
Studies have shown that just as ultra-violet rays can cause eye damage, shortwave-length blue light rays from LED displays can cause eye damage and affect vision over time. Developed for well being, the Philips LowBlue Mode setting uses a smart software technology to reduce harmful shortwave blue light.

I was looking to upgrade from my 22″ TV/monitor used with my RISC OS Rasperry Pi. Needed at least a 27″ screen and speakers. So far I have no complaints about the monitor display and sound and a bargain found in the Amazon ‘warehouse’ deals for less than a hundred pounds.
Using as a screen for working at home. Decided to replace my old 21 inch Dell, which I was straining to see properly. Saw this as a warehouse deal and went for it, largely due to the fact it was cheaper than a lot of the smaller monitors. Glad I did as it’s so much clearer than my old monitor, both due to the bigger size and much better colour/contrast & definition. Very pleased with it.
Had this up and running for almost 2 days now – for the price of the screen, the quality is really good and i’m very happy with it. Quite a small bevel which is nice, buttons are decent and accessible.
My only negative about this is the “Speaker”. It’s almost pointless they included this with the monitor – the feature is that bad i’ll literally never use it. If you use a headset for your gaming and/or actual speakers then good stuff, feels like they included this feature just to say it has a speaker, i’ve heard better radio speaker’s to put it bluntly.
Other than that, brilliant monitor – amazing price.
First thing is, this is an excellent monitor and very good value. I got mine for 104.97. The only slight issue is that the provided stand is plastic and the monitor wobbles a bit when you try to use any of the menu buttons.
The overall performance of the monitor is very good However the sound from the inbuilt speaker is weak and Mono. A far cry from my previous Phillips monitor. This is a shame it takes the shine off a very good product.
However, as a Monitor, this is a very good product.
The outside cardboard box was in poor condition but the inner manufacturers box was intact. The delivery time was 4 weeks which I thought was very long.
Needed a bigger screen to see documents for work and this is perfect. Easy to connect and use and been great.
Great product and despite the lower price this was only because the transport box was a little scuffed, great product and service
Very good all round. You would pay a lot more to better it.
very nice screen picture very good but speaker a bit weak for car racing games eg wrc rally .
Its a great product with reasonable price tag, it is good for gaming. Screen quality is crystal clear. Overall a great product.
This monitor is great. But when on standby, it is frustrating how long it takes for the screen to turn on. Aimlessly shaking my mouse about for ages is slightly annoying. But all in all, great monitor.
Nothing out of the ordinary, using it as second monitor for work, maybe bit big for my small desk. Would be better with a bigger desk so you’re not too close. Also great to plug laptop for movie watching
This was an excellent second monitor addition, and the picture quality is better than a slightly older equivalent Dell monitor. It works well being driven by a Dell USB dock from a laptop.
The stand is a fixed height which is fine as I had measured the gap before purchasing. There is forward and backward tilt but I noticed the plastic base of the screen where it says Philips bulges worryingly as you are applying force how to adjust a tilt. However I will probably not change this angle more than once a year now that it is set in position.
I asked a question below in the Q&A section because Amazon said it was delivered next day by Vendors Own Courier VOC, but it turns out that this purely meant that someone had turned the package over to the courier (In my case DHL). I got an SMS text 36 hours later to confirm the expected delivery time. Note that by this point the Amazon site had said it had been delivered to my house. I think this confusion is purely down to Amazon’s interface and nothing to do with the supplier.
Use it as a work screen with my Mac.
Its good. Lots of input ports. Easy to put together. I would buy another. But its not 5 star.
Bought this screen as part of my home working setup, and really impressed with it. Easy to setup and install, screen and picture quality is also decent, have managed to watch a few films on my ipad on it as well.
Sound quality isn’t too great, but I use my laptop sound or an external sound system anyway.
Overall great purchase and great price.
I needed a bigger screen and this fitted the bill nicely, reasonable cost and a very bright clear image. Multiple inputs mean you can connect multiple computers if you need to (I do) but the built in speakers are a little on the quiet side, otherwise it would be a five star review.
I was so impressed with this monitor for the price I bought 5 for the office. They have a nice crisp screen 75hz refresh rate and look very smart. The sound is a bit naff but I’ve not found a monitor yet that has even slightly useable sound. Highly recommend them for daily office use … They also have built in anti-blue settings to protect your eyes (can be set to about 3 different levels). I would say they were also ok for general gaming but if you are after something for 4k gaming and intensive graphics use I would go up to the next price range but for office work I wouldn’t go anywhere else as they are perfect.
Absolutely no issues with this at all for the price. I got this as i have the 24 inch model too. I now have them both mounted on arms on my desk and they look great. Picture quality and refresh rate (75hz) make a good monitor no matter what you need it for. Can’t say about gaming as I don’t really do that!
Great basic monitor, I have two of them (27in &24in) use one as in portrait in my set up and works great. The main downside for me is that it only had 1 HDMI slot, as a minimum should have 2 in the day but other than that it’s grea
Bought this for my wife as a 2nd monitor as she now works from home. She also has eye problems so it was critical to choose the right monitor that wouldn’t cause any eye strain. Initially went for a 21.5 inch Benq connected to a surface pro. This turned out to be far too small because the image does not fill 100% of the screen. So sent that one back and went for the 27 inch Phillip’s. Totally perfect size with the blue light reduction and especially good for split screen displays that are easy to read without squinting. This ones a keeper.
I use this monitor as my second monitor on my pc, I don’t use it for gaming, I just use it for streaming and browsing and watching YouTube vids on it. You can use it for gaming if you want. But I already have a 280hz monitor and this 75hz one is good for the budget especially at 27″. Not bad
A really great monitor in a slightly cheap frame and stand, which is actually reassuring in some ways as it feels that Philips have compromised on the inessentials for the price, and delivered an awesome monitor.
Screen quality is as you would expect. Great clear 1080p display at 75hz only issue I have but I expected anyway is the built in speakers are below adequate so external speakers are still required but the speakers are still a nice addition. No display ports unfortunately but great for hdmi
Son wanted this to replace his big old tv that gave up after at least 8 years. Arrived really quickly and he set it up in no time. He uses it for ps gaming and tv and he loves it. The picture quality is very high and the speakers are absolutely fine. He often just plugs his headset/earphones in and the sound quality is still excellent. All round great purchase and very good value for money
remote desktoping so this make the screen small and difficult to do some tasks, but now I can do the same task in half the time.
I have found it to be a great buy and I am glad that it has speakers for meetings and watching videos.
It toke minutes to set up and it’s just a shame I didnt get it earlier.
This is such good value for what I was looking for.
Also I was so surprised how well it diffused light reflections especially in a very brightly lit room. It probably isn’t all that important to most people but I found it distracting on some other displays where you can see light reflected from other sources. The coating here diffuses that light so well that even the phone torch directly against the display isn’t visible. It does that better than the LG.
Colours and brightness could be better but expectations adjusted for the price.
Oh important thing to note: there is a different version of this monitor thst has displayport. My friend bought the same monitor less than a week after seeing how impressive these were for the price. His had displayport. Useful as some newer graphics cards may not have DVI/VGA (received a RTX 2070 super this week as a gift and found out I didn’t have the right cables to run the extra monitor. I’ve ordered a display port to hdmi adapter. Fingers crossed that works)
What I like about these: the picture quality, weight (they are extremely light), great viewing angle. I chose the version of these with both a DVI and HDMI input, as it was important for me to be compatible with most new graphics cards. I didn’t want DisplayPort inputs as these seem less important with changes happening in the HDMI specifications (and match the cables. I haven’t tried the sound output from these: at this price it’s really not important how good or bad the sound is. If you’re worried about it you should really be getting separate active speakers. Finally I was completely blown away at the extremely narrow physical bezels – makes for great screen continuity. Overall highly recommended.
The picture is not as sharp as you would expect from IPS monitor. Black is a little bit glittered and backlight is not as uniform as you might expect from a brand like Philips.
The sound coming out from the speaker (or speakers) is very poor quality and not too loud, so I would not recommend it for music or movies fan, only for occasional youtube, etc.
However, you could not expect miracles for this price range and it is working well as a budget temporary solution.
I would return it if I would pay 50 more for it, but it will do the job as it is now.
The only thing I felt “offended” by, is that no HDMI cable is included, an old VGA cable (no less) is included instead — which in 2020 is landfill material, and that’s where it went (what a waste).
I bought this to replace a 19″ square monitor so the picture height and detail are about the same but this has a much wider viewing area. Widescreen videos are literally double the size they were before. I’m very happy with this size and resolution when viewing from about three feet away. I bought the IPS version so the monitor can double as a temporary TV viewing device when fed from a suitable receiver and it performs adequately in that role.
Before removing from box make sure hand holds on the side of the box are not pressed in or else the packaging won’t come out. Also when in use be careful that the mains connector is pushed all the way in the back of the monitor or unexpected things may happen. I at first made the mistake of not using the one supplied with the monitor and it didn’t quite fit right.
The built in speakers are a bit of a joke – even by PC monitor standards – but I normally use an external speaker or headphones in any case. A suitable audio out socket is provided. There are also holes for a VESA mount on the back if you’re not happy with the supplied stand.
