Have the watch over 3 years now it has tracked all my runs, hikes, cycling, gym workouts etc… I got a cheap Ant+ heart rate monitor to pair with it for more accuracy as wrist sensors are poor on all watches. Its very accurate the app was brilliant when in conjuction wit google maps now with petal nots so good but cant complain for the money this watch wont be beaten i am a soldier and have worn it on multiple exercises and deployments only had to change the strap once. If Bluetooth doesn’t connect straight away forget and reconnect it worked for me every time this happened. Dont normally write reviews just this product is so good can do 90% it things just as well as watches 7 times the price. BUY IT YOU WONT REGRET!

Bought this to replace my M400 as I wanted the pulse rate option on the watch. The battery life is good and so is the accuracy. The watch looks quite basic compared to others but it does exactly as it should, it’s a great runners watch. The Polar app that comes as part of it is really good with training programmes that are easy to follow and lots of diagnostic features. I would definitely recommend it, very good value.

Been using this for about a year and I’m very happy with it. You wouldn’t want to wear it all day because it doesn’t look that great, but it’s ideal for running and walking – reliable, hardy, accurate. My only caveat is battery life. Although I think Polar claims it’s 8 hours, if you set the GPS to record as frequently as possible, then that drops down to around 4 to 5 hours. So long as you can do marathons in under that time, then you’ve got no problem, but if you’re doing ultras or day-long walks, it won’t last the course. It may do if you set the GPS to record less frequently, but if you’re a stats nerd like me, you probably won’t want to lose accuracy. Perhaps you’ll need to charge it in the pub at lunchtime…

This has been great to track my running and to base my training around running at heart rate zones rather than running for distance or time in isolation.

Highly recommended and the Polar Flow website is a great tool and will plan your workouts for you.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI am really impressed with this watch and the Polar mobile app that works along side it.
The watch is more than just a runners watch. In fact I haven’t even used it for a run yet due to the current quarantine restrictions we are all living through.
What I have been doing with it though is tracking my (almost) daily HIIT workouts and also basketball workouts.
There are so many activities covered on the app which you can add to your favourites and are then stored onto the watch itself.
I love seeing my heart rate while I’m doing my workouts.
It can also track your sleeping, which is a cool feature. I doesn’t really serve a purpose for me, but it’s interesting to look at when you wake up.
The battery life seems to be really good. I’ve had the watch over 3 weeks and have charged it once.

I have had many polar heart rate monitors (at least 6). This is good but not great. The main problems are the charging connection – is a bit hard to connect and can easily disconnect. Features are good and accurate monitor. Battery needs charging too often – will not cope with two long (3-4 hour) sessions in a row. Fairly happy.

Very good product. Did the usual of reading all reviews etc, totally agree with all the positives. Accurate as strava, and does link up with my account. Heart rate spot on too, app on phone is quality too.
Has got wet, sweaty & dirty and still works flawlessly. Fully recommended for the price if you don’t want to shell out hundreds & hundreds for one with bells & whistles. This has plenty! Just be gentle with the strap, fine with me so far, but may prove a wee bit more problematic for those with chunkier or very slim wrists. I could be wrong though.

Good watch on the whole. Maybe too complicated for a bog basic keep fit person—-like myself. The app again appears to be very basic or dated compared to my wife’s Fitbit. The dark watch face is not that easy to read , even in daylight. Heart beat recordings and distances appear to be accurate or thereabouts. Looks wise, the polar is very bland compared to other fit watches on the market.

I’m mainly use the watch as a running watch although you can also use it as a general fitness watch. It works really well with the Polar Flow app and web service. Its light but feels sturdy with metal buttons and a large clear screen. You can setup various sports profiles e.g. running, trail, rugby or whatever and you can add and switch between views within each of those profiles. e.g. a view might contain HR, pace ,distance, time. The app can create customisable training programmes for you and record sessions so that you can analyse them.

I was worried before purchase that this might be something that ended up not being used but I’ve been really pleased with it and use it regularly.

When I compare this watch to a friends Garmin, I think that his Garmin looks much nicer but this Polar M430 has just as many features and is much cheaper. I don’t mind that it looks a bit square and has a basic monochrome screen, it does the job very well. It’s not as big and bulky as I expected from the pictures though which was nice.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersI bought the M430 after my M400 finally met its end. The difference between the M400 and M430 is only really related to the M430 having the wrist-based HRM function. I’m a rower, and find that the wrist-based capacity doesn’t work for rowing, probably because it involves constant flexing of the wrist and using the hands as the end of a lever. However, the M430 connects fine to the chest belt that I had from my M400 and is accurate for that. The wrist-based HRM is fine for running and cycling. The Polar Flow app that comes with it is really excellent and a useful way to look back at your training. I like that you can customise the watch faces in terms of what information is given to you, by activity. For example, you might not want to know your average heart rate as you go along through one activity (say, cycling) but you would for something else (say, running). Thoroughly recommend this watch.

Only had it a few weeks, but comfy to wear and accurate distance measurements. Nice and compact, not as bulky as some other brands available, but still easy to read and switch through screens on the move.
Battery life seems good but time will tell.
Only down side I can see is that the pace reading seems to jump around but that could be partially due to my running!

I’ve started running again after a break of 6 or 7 years and my old Garmin Forerunner 305 had given up the ghost. I was going to go for another Garmin but this had good reviews and was a good price. I haven’t been disappointed. It picks up GPS in about 20 seconds, that’s on a cloudy day in central London standing just outside my office building. The Garmin could sometimes take 5 minutes, when I was at home I’d leave it out in the garden to pick up GPS whilst I got ready as it took so long. This watch is very accurate, showing exactly where I’ve had to slow down or stop for traffic etc on the map on the Polar Flow website. When I watched reviews it looked a little chunky but it’s really not. I guess the people who were doing the reviews were a lot smaller than me :). The one slight negative is that the connector on the back can be a tad iffy and fiddly. I thought I had left it charging once but it wasn’t connecting properly. In saying that it only takes about 20-30 mins to charge and a charge seems to last quite a few days unless you have it on Heart Rate screen. If you’re after a good value GPS watch look no furthe

I use it for running. It works well and provides extra information of interest (heart rate, cadence) that I had wondered about before but known. Unlike my previous Garmin forerunner 10 (I think), the GPS connects almost instantly and that is a big bonus.
The watch can do more than I want it to do. I tried the sleep measuring function but was not convinced that it works (eg afternoon nap) but that was out of curiosity. Truth is, I don’t want a device measuring me 24 hours a day.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI use this watch predominately for swimming and gym sessions and it’s ridiculously good. The constant heart rate monitoring during training sessions lets me know if I’m in the right zone and the fact that it’s fully waterproof has been invaluable. The interface is easy to use and the app is as well. The GPS on walks/runs/cycling works really well but naturally does run the battery down faster. Without using the GPS, I’m charging every 5 or 6 days and with it about every 4. It’s really made my training sessions a lot more effective!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersOnly just got this, but am very impressed so far with the functions, the accuracy and everything about the watch.

I have only undertaken some minor runs today – my real run this week comes on Sunday, so I will update then should anything alter, but; so far; everything seems to be accurate and on the money in terms of heart rate, distance traveled, average and maximum speeds, etc…

Not a cheap watch, but worth every penny (so far) in my opinion, as it does exactly as advertised.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our Usersbrilliant! actually not as big as I had initially feared, very easy to use and the software is excellent. I had been using a garmin device before this and the software nearly brought me to tears it was that difficult to use!
The display is clear and intuitive and the GPS finds the satellites so quickly. I can’t praise this highly enough.

Golden Review Award: 33 From Our UsersI bought this for my partner who has started running seriously but isn’t the best with technology. I have my own Polar HR monitor and like the intuitive interface. This watch is no different. Once you do a short setup where you answer questions about yourself (gender, weight, height etc) you’re away!
She ran a half marathon with it recently and loved it – she had it on the screen that shows HR and min/km. I downloaded the software for mac and plugged in the watch, all looks very smart and well designed. The maps are accurate and the “relive” feature is particularly quirky, mixing your route, HR, pace and google images for the run you did.
The battery seems to last a while when it’s not in use but still on.
Not much to moan about other than the price (and the well known accuracy issues with HR reading from the wrist).
Would definitely recommend if looking for this type of watch.
