I’d been umming and aahing over getting a speaker to use when working from home for a good while. I finally took the plunge after much research and I’m delighted with the Poly-sync. It does exactly what it promises. Set up was as simple as plugging it into my docking station for a semi-permanent set up. Point to note – ensure you choose the version which is Teams certified if you use Teams as well as Zoom, GoogleMeet etc. to ensure a seamless link up. I can control the speaker using Teams controls instead of on the unit itself which is a godsend. The sound is very clear both for me and the people on the other end of the call. I have also linked up my phone and tablet to the speaker and all three work in harmony with each other so if I am using one device then the others alert me that I have a call, but it doesn’t intrude on my call with no loss of sound. I highly recommend this speaker.

Bought to use in meeting rooms without audio setup. Started to use it at home and at desk due to cool teams integration I didn’t know all about – and then I use it with headphones as it’s gas great microphone.
When your meeting starts, you teams button flashes and if you press it, itnwill open join the meeting screen. During the meeting, holding the teams button raises and lovers your hand. The hardware mute button is handy when you multitask – no need to find the meeting screen (which the theams button brings up too!).
One of the features 8 couldn’t find I teams app is to put yourself on hold without starting another call – but you can bind “put on hold” to the custom button and it works! The hardware button to leave call is handy too. I haven’t used it (the same button) to answer a call yet but it should do what is says.
The usb-c version was out of stock which I’ve ordered but first it got lost and second got cancelled, I’ve settled on usb-a, which worksnfinenwith adapter.

Overall it’s a very nice productivity enhancer and changes the waybtoubwork if you’re in the meetings constantly.

Reliable bluetooth connection but it is better with the plantronics dongle as this allows for better integration to MS Teams if you need it in a wireless setup. Still the best connection for a pc is the wired one and sound is superb. I’m not sure about the noise cancellation but people assure me it is clear on the other side and be aware of audio feedback in teams, the work-around is to set your pc sound to the poly device as well. The speaker is loud enough to be used in the car for calls and music.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have to say that the sound and the mic on this speaker are excellent. Crystal clear clarity on calls and loud enough to play music through too.
One major drawback is the voice announcements. Every time you do something (turn it on, plug it in, connect a device, disconnect a device etc etc) there is a loud voice telling you thus. It becomes very annoying after a while, especially if you forget and walk away with your phone. You’ll be thinking you’ve got a stowaway in your house that just shouts at you.
If you can look past this “feature”, then it’s definitely worth the money.

I use video calls regularly, both Zoom and Teams. The Poly speaker works well with both and also as a hands free speaker for my phone. My ears get sore wearing headsets for too long so this is a good alternative.

The speaker was easy to set up and pair with my devices. It is easy to use and the sound quality for meetings is decent however it’s not so great for playing music.

Overall it is a good purchase for a home office setup.

It’s compact and very pleasing on the eye. It’s sturdy and versatile.

I love this. My laptop speakers are terrible and this provides me with enhanced audio, the interaction with teams is an added bonus.

It can be connected by Bluetooth or by USB. It’s incredibly versatile and can operate with multiple Bluetooth connections. Only issue is if phone is connected whilst on a teams meeting on laptop you do lose sound.

Portable. I’ve used this as a Bluetooth speaker for music when on holiday. It’s compact enough to travel well and as its battery powered can be taken anywhere..

Battery life is good. I’ve tested it over ten hours. It also has a useful reminder of battery level when you switch it on and off.

Sound quality is really good both for calls and for music / video.

All in all, does what you want it to do. At first the price put me off but its definitely been worth the money

A powerful little box for conferencing

The speaker was super easy to turn on and connect to my devices. It comes with a USB charging cable, and a handy pouch to store it in. It is advertised as portable, but could be a little more compact. I took it camping this weekend and it took up more space than expected. Battery is long lasting when used as a speaker, but when used it to charge my phone it drained really quickly and only charged my phone 50%. Nonetheless, I really liked how I was able to use it as a speaker and power bank.

The sound quality sounded good at the start, but when playing music I can occasionally hear static. Good on calls with easy to use buttons. Would recommend if using primarily for conference calls, but as a combined speaker/power bank there are cheaper and better options.

For the past couple of years I’ve been using a single earpiece headset for my work conference calls but I find after an hour of use my ear would start to hurt so I started looking for an alternative solution that would allow me to remove the need for a headset.

On paper the Poly 20 Sync seemed to fit the bill and this version had the added functionality of team integration. Team recognised the device without any issues and the Teams button is handy to instantly bring up the Teams app on your desktop.

I have mainly used the device plugged directly in to my laptop but I did try using bluetooth. However, when you use bluetooth you do lose the functionality of direct Team integration as well as the mute button.

One concern I did have is that after about 35 minutes of a Teams call (when plugged in via USB on my laptop’s docking station) people’s voices started to crackle. It would fix itself for the first 35 minutes of the next call but then the distortion stated again. I tried plugging it in directly to the laptop and so far haven’t had the issue.

Audio quality is very good from my side with people’s voices loud and clear. I asked others on the call how I was sounding and they all said it was very good too. My main concern with a speaker/microphone combo like this is whether the end user can hear an echo of their voices but so far no-one has said there is an issue.

It comes with a nice travel case and a lanyard strap to carry it on your wrist. I really don’t need the portability that it offers and to be honest I’m not sure how many people would find that useful as it isn’t as if you could sit in an office and plug this in and hold a call on loudspeaker!

However, it is very light and portable so for those needing this functionality then I would recommend the Poly 20 Sync.

The software works fine and allows you to easily update the firmware if needed. You can set the “Rocket” button to one of the options available including Play/Pause, Redial, voice assistant, status check, and hold/resume call. It would be nice if you could also set you own like running an app on your laptop.

Overall this is a great product and looks good on the desk. The instructions are intuitive but you need to download them from the app.

    Teams integration is really useful

This speakerphone is perfect for conference calls! The audio is super clear and the volume goes up very loud without effecting sound quality. I like the fact that it is small and portable. 10/10 I would definitely recommend.

This product from Poly initially appears to be an overpriced Bluetooth speaker but it is actually crammed full of electronics to ensure video/conferencing goes smoothly.

In actual fact it is a very designed and capable product for audio conferencing (and phone calls). The technology ensure both sides of the call have clear audio and minimum interference and echos. I have been using this for over a month now and can say it’s very fit for purpose.

The design including the travel bag make it ideal for remote and mobile working.

    Great Product for Remote Working

The speaker on my laptop can be weak in conference calls, the mic on my desktop is awful, so I decided to give this a try. I have to say, I was sceptical about why this product was so pricey but it has proved its worth!! I was so surprised by the sound quality. I knew it would be good for calls but when I used it for music it was giving my UE speakers a run for their money!!! So super simple to use too, set-up took less than 5 minutes.

I have not received any complaints about echoes despite this being an external speaker, so the product has lived up to its claims for sure. On top of that, the mic quality is excellent, I don’t have to speak loudly for those in my calls to understand me.

The cherry on top will have to be how beautifully designed it is: the lights, the fabric-esque finish, the equally beautiful carry case, and its very portable size. Overall, I would recommend this product 110%, I have never been so impressed before.

Was not expecting to love it so much!!!

Great speaker, clarity is good and amazing when doing conference calls. Works very well with Microsoft teams app as well as zoom. Mute button comes in handy when you need to chat privately with someone else in the room. Also like the fact that one can use poly as a phone charger when you out of the office. Great speaker definitely with having for the office or home office

After a year of using a headset for Microsoft Teams calls all day I needed something to relieve that headset fatigue, this device is perfect. I can play music from my phone via Bluetooth and if a Teams call comes in then it pauses the music. The sound quality is phenomenal and my colleagues say the sound is great for them too, no echo. Love i

The sound is good for the small device, and it integrates well with a laptop and mobile phone.
It would have been great to also connect a camera via a single unit, but that’s just one additional USB port.
Mix and audio quality is good.
The app and settings is a bit flakey, but it just requires a restart to ensure settings take effect.

Love this product. It’s very easy to connect via Bluetooth or USB wire (integrated wire hidden and wrapped around the device). The audio is excellent and the speaker sound is completely clear. You don’t have to sit close to the speaker to pick up your voice and this is great for professional meetings via any platform including TEAMs or ZOOM, or for simply connecting and making calls using your mobile phone. I normally connect this to my laptop, however – the bluetooth is also connected to my phone. I also use my SYNC20 to play music or watch movies and it massively improves the experience for the movie versus using my iphone speaker which isn’t great. I would definitely recommend this device for anyone looking for speakerphone or anyone tired of wearing headsets all day. I now use both and feel less fatigue throughout the day.

Purchased for a colleague working from home who has hearing problems and cannot wear headphones. Resolved the issue of her missing out on virtual training thanks to the clarity of sound via Microsoft Teams. My colleague uses hearing aids and her normal PC speakers did not have a suitable bass range for her to hear conversations with. This little Poly Sync 20 unit did the job and has adjustable bass. Plug in to the USB port and away you go. Only drawback was that her audio settings did not save after shutting down, but that is more to do with the IT restrictions put on our work equipment and not the device itself.
