Use it to check the humidity room at work and room temp. Very useful. About Dew point very important to know. Over 60 I already know that the floor going to be wet and start been carefully

I don’t have any high precision standards at home, because a good thermocouple device (type T) costs $100-200+ and a precision hygrometer is many times that. However, this gadget reads in a reasonable amount of time (I’d let it set 10 minutes before reading it, although a little less might be required) and it seems to be degree-ish accurate and 1-3% in humidity/dew point. It’s actually hard to measure dew point with more than 2-3% accuracy so I wouldn’t let that bum you out. Ground level dew points are strongly affected by microclimates anyway (did your sprinkler just run?) and indoors there are other challenges (is someone making chicken stock today?).

Anyway, for a $20-30 gadget this works well, is exceptionally easy to use and has no obnoxious failings, and should satisfy the needs of people who just want an easy way to get a reasonably accurate reading of temp/RH/dew point at a random location in a few minutes.

    Stamp of approval from me.

Some where I read there is a 3% fluctuation in actual humidity and reading. This has shown to be exactly true everytime if have double checked it with a standard wet bulb gauge.
If I see a 43% humidity reading I subtract 3% for a true reading of 40%. No biggie to me and I have been 110% happy with the value of this product!

Ordered this for a Job where I was worried about the Humidity in a room with a computer in there.

Not a big fan of digging through the instructions if i can just Jab at a few buttons and fumble my way to success.
    This Item Delivers here.

Pretty simple to use and gave me some good Data right from the Get Go. Nice fast update time = couple of reads a second.

You can pause this, or have the unit display a highest/lowest reading.

Got a great read of the situation.

    job done

I like the ability to turn on the back-light and leave on so can monitor for extended periods without have to reset. Temperature cupfates in seconds, humidity about a minute or a little more depending on how big a change. Temperature I found dead accurate when tested against other instruments. Humidity a bit off but very acceptable. Quality feel and clear display.

I like the form factor and weight. However, I’d like to have the option to attach a strap to secure it to my wrist to prevent accidents or hang it from a rack.

User interface is simple and intuitive. The buttons are big and responsive: 1 button to turn On/Off, and 4 buttons to change settings. Display is big enough to show “huge” figures (see picture).

After three months of regular use, I find it useful to track environmental conditions in my apartment. I think a data logger would be more suitable for this purpose though. Overall I like and recommend this meter.

I wish I have a way to check the accuracy of this item. I’d assume that all my measurements have the same (additive) error (if any). This way, differences would be accurate (fingers crossed).

Item arrive packaged properly and in perfect conditions.
Meter + 3x AAA batteries (included) weights 137 grams.

    Easy to use environmental mete

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI’m a semi-retired owner of a textile cleaning & restoration company. We used this type of meter frequently. This one is surprisingly accurate considering I had temperature/ humidity meters that cost upwards of $800.00.

I compared it to multiple humidity/ temperature sensors & it was fairly accurate given time to settle on reading. It wasn’t as accurate instantly but was usable depending on your need.

Remember if using a meter even if inaccurate as long as you use that same meter for the entire project you should at least know your progress even if the first reading was inaccurate.

Also, it is very rare to have two meters measure the same without frequent calibration using offsets, etc no matter the cost.

Decent meter coming from a semi-retired Pro that used many brands of meters

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAre you getting tired of asking Alexa what the weather is and wonder what the climate actually is inside of your house? Do you sometimes think one room of your house is colder than the others and have thoughts that maybe it is haunted? Well sounds like you need something like this to set your mind at ease.

No, this meter can’t detect ghosts. But it can measure temperature, relative humidity, dew point, and wet bulb temperature. The temperature reading is accurate within 2 degrees F between 32F and 113F. Not as accurate as some other meters like the Govee wifi thermometer which is accurate within 0.5 degrees F. But comparing these 2 meters side by side I pretty much get the same readings as shown in my pic. It’s only when the temperature gets really cold like in the fridge or very hot near a heater that I notice the readings start to deviate by 2 degrees F.

So if you need to monitor the temperature inside your wine fridge this meter is not for you and you’re better off going with the Govee which also maintains a constant log of the temperature over time. This Protmex meter is more suited for spot readings whenever you’re curious what the temperature and humidity is at any given time.

For the most accurate reading you want to make sure to remove the cap covering the sensor and just leave the Protmex meter sitting there for a few minutes before turning it on. If you move the meter from areas of extreme temperature differences like from the fridge to room temperature you will want to leave the meter sitting for longer before taking a measurement. The greatest strength of the Protmex is it is completely portable and does not require a Bluetooth or wifi connection of any kind.

Pretty darn accurate for casual use

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI have an old Protmex model that is twice as big and without a nice sensor cover like this mini version. The HT607 is very fast in measuring temperature and humidity levels. My older Protmex required having it out and sitting in ambient temperatures for about 10 minutes or so before taking accurate measurements while this new HT607 measures it almost instantly. There is about 0.5seconds for every change.

Walk into another room, the temperature and humidity levels on the tool will change instantly reflecting the current temperature and humidity levels. It is about a +/- 3% for humidity levels and that is ok; all within specs for me. The temperature measurement seems to be more accurate falling within +/- 1-2F at max.

There’s a bright backlight and temperature hold. There is dry and wet bulb measurements. There is also dew point value shown on screen at all time. Typical fahrenheit and celsius values. It can measure min and max values as well. Fast and accurate tool and I don’t see a single problem with this mini version for it comes with a small carrying bag and has a protective cover for the sensor. Excellent tool for home use any time.

The only issue again like their audio metering device is the fact in 2022 I’d like to see a better way to fast access the battery. Perhaps a PC-style case thumb screw or some coin screw. The tiny Philips head screw is just too small and easy to lose when trying to open the battery compartment.

Other than that small minor gripe, the important functions are indeed accurate and fast so it’s a good product overall. This isn’t NIST certified in any way so for home use, for non-commercial use, it is fully usable. If you need precise measurements for that chemistry project or have $1000+ worth of cigars you’d like to keep humidity within range, this could work in your favor too- but like any precision tool it always comes with a certification price tag. Other than those strict requirements you will have no issues using this tool for everyday things.

Compact, FAST and ACCURATE. Measure anytime, anywhere tool

I don’t have a lot of negative things to say about this. I do LOVE that it shows both dew point and relative humidity by a simple button press to toggle between. It is the same for the C/F. Power button is a long press to turn on. Min/Max is at your fingertips as well in the center. Turning the light on or off for the lower left button you have to long hold. The backlit screen is nice though when you need it. The unit will auto-power off after so many minutes of inactivity to not drain your battery. Not sure of the exact amount but it seemed like 10 minutes maybe? It measured accurate with two other units I just bought as well. The carrying pouch is cheap but at least it is something. I don’t think anyone would ever actually use it. The hard cover to protect the sensor area on top fits nice and snug. In general I like the style and size of this… the big numbers are easy to read. Genuinely built smart….except one item, which isn’t a deal breaker. The batter door has a very small screw to hold it in place. Should you loose that screw or need to open it but you don’t have a precision screwdriver nearby, that could be an issue. I’m not sure why they didn’t go with a pressure fit door cover or had a stopper/sleave on the inside to hold the screw so it wouldn’t fall off when you take it off. Something like that. Just be careful when you install your batteries I guess, which shouldnt be to often. This will definitely be coming out with me storm chasing!

This meter uses the relatively well known SHT20 sensor from Sensirion, and the implementation here looks to be well done. The sensor itself as recommended by the datasheet is away from the main board, on a long and thin daughterboard, and is protected by a screw on cap, as well as a larger cap that is removable.

The numbers are very large and very readable, and the backlight is well diffused. All the functions are very intuitive. While the display update rate is about once every second, you’d need to check the datasheet of SHT20 on what the actual typical response time is for temperature and humidity changes. A very nice little bonus that is not often seen at lower price points is a brass threaded insert for the battery compartment door, so that you can keep changing the batteries without worrying about stripping the threads.

My main use for it is going to be as one of the ways to double check room humidity and temperature smart home automation sensors and try to find the most accurate ones by comparing them to this meter.

    A great little mete

Good simple tool. About as small as a network tester. There’s a cap over the sensor. Easy to use controls and it’s illuminated for use in dark. I haven’t calibrated with other tools but it matches the general readings. I like the wet/dry dew point setting. Remember, it is wet bulb dew point. Not wet bulb temp. I missed that but it doesn’t distract from a fine tool.

The response time to changes in temperature and humidity are quick and don’t fluctuate much once settled. Seems a very reliable and useful meter. Well worth the extra money – it gives you the sense that it’s accurate and consistent.
